Video Chat; why is there no better app?!

Hello,
I love my BlackBerry PlayBook; however, I really dislike that I am not able to video chat with my friends and family because they don't have the PlayBook. Why is there no oovoo or skype app? BlackBerry is such a great company with great products, but this is a major set back for me. I don't see why the video chat app that is already on there won't let you call people that have facetime being that facetime uses email addresses anyway.
Will there be apps available soon??? I have tried just about everything to try and video chat with it. PLEASE make apps available or make the already exisiting video chat app able to call non PlayBook users.
I would hate to get rid of my tablet because of this.

Could you try to scroll down a bit and look into the "Find New Apps" section. I have attached a screenshot for your reference.
In case you still do not see any CC applications, login to https://creative.adobe.com/products and try to download any CC app and then check if it gets installed and you see it under the "Your apps" section of CC desktop app.

Since dsharrow mentioned it, I use AC-7 Core on my iPad all the time. I can sit on my midi drum kit across the room and hit record on the iPad to start Logic 9. Since my iMac is across the room I have a 2nd HDMI monitor set to mirror mode that is close to my kit. This makes it easy to view my timeline while recording. While using the wireless Apple Trackpad resting on one of my tom-tom pads I can actually make simple edits on the fly. I could also use the App; SplashTop Remote as well but then I wouldn't be able to use AC-7 Core at the same time. Hope this gives you some options to think about.

Cannot invite more than one person to video chat, why?

I just got Leopard installed into my Macbook. When I video chat, i have all the new options including the effects, except the ability to invite more than one person into the video chat. When i press the "+" button the only option i get is "share a file with ichat theater"
i can video chat with more than one person as long as i am invited, but i cant be the one to invite an additional person.

First have you set the Quicktime streaming setting, goto sys prefs/quicktime/streaming/streaming speed, set to 1.5mbps
In ichats prefs click on video and change bandwidth limit to 500.
Restart iChat.
Also do a speed test and tell us the up and download speeds http://www.speedtest.net/

Why is there not an app for locking folders?

I have a son who is both gifted and on the autism spectrum. There are a lot of times when he is completely overwhelmed, and he has learned to find a way to escape from the situation through reading or through games. We would like to use his iPad at school, but he has games downloaded on it that he can use at home during appropriate times. To keep him from trying to escape during school into these games, I really need to be able to lock the game folder. However, I have found that an app like this is only available if I were to jailbreak his iPad. I do not want to do this! Why can't someone create an app like this for iTunes?

Official 3rd party apps don't have access to private iPhone API's - primarily for security reasons. Hacking an iPhone - with the cutsie term for this "jailbreak", removes all the built-in security included with iOS making an iOS device as insecure as Android and Windoze garbage. This is what allows an iOS device to download and install unofficial apps from untrusted sources which can include malware and spyware.
Such an official option must come from Apple.

Is there a beta app to use on 2015 Samsung Smart TV running Tizen OS?

Hello everyone - I recently purchased a 2015 Samsung TV running Tizen OS; unfortunately there is no Spotify app in the SmartHub... I had a similar issue for Plex but I found an app that I was able to load directly onto the TV. Does anyone know if there is something like this for Spotify I can try? Even better, does anyone know when Spotify plans on releasing an app for the 2015 models?

Even if there's not stable release of Spotify for Samsung TV running Tizen OS, a beta version would be nice. We could help developing it providing feedback. Plex solved this by releasing the beta to the public and I'm using it.

Is 15 fps Normal for Video Chat or Can it Be Better?

I just had my slow video problem resolved through these discussions. I have noticed in other posts that other i-Chat AV users are getting more than 15 fps during their conferences. I assumed 15 fps was the norm. Any advice on how to get frame rate higher and thus improve video quality?

Why is there no in app feedback button so that I can complain.

I already subscribe to creative cloud so I think that being able to create and export pdf's should be free and not a pay for service.

This app is for reading PDFs on an iPad or iPhone. It is free for everyone to download, but it doesn't include the ability to create or export PDFs for free.
Your Creative Cloud subscription allows you download Adobe Acrobat for your Macintosh or Windows computer (or both). In that program you can create and export PDFs as part of the application. Use your Creative Cloud Desktop application on Mac or Windows to download Acrobat Pro, or go to creative.adobe.com and log in with your Adobe ID, and you can download from there.

If I make a photo album in iPhoto,will it read well in an iPad? I want a photo flip book? Or is there a better app for me to create a digital scrapbook that I can share?

Hi, I'm interested in creating a photo scrapbook in iPhoto, but I want to send it as a gift in digital form? Ideally, I want the pictures, writing and images to view well in an iPad, like a customized FlipBook. Can you recommend an app or program that I can use, that doesn't require printing?

iPhoto is a consumer level photo storage and manipulation program,
It stores it's files in the iPhoto Library, which appears to be a file, but if right clicked on and "show package contents" is actually a folder with it's sensitive guts inside, including a folder called Modified and Originals which you can Finder > File > Duplicate and transfer out.
If you use iPhoto to delete a photo, it IS removed off your hard drive as well but only from the iPhoto Library folder/package, not anywhere else on your drive as iPhoto is supposed to import a copy if say you have some on your desktop already and import them into iPhoto.
So it shouldn't touch anything outside your iPhoto Library. So how you organize photo's outside your iPhoto Library is your business, however don't expect iPhoto to respect your wishes inside the iPhoto Library package, that's really reserved for iPhoto use only.

I read the manual for my iphone and it said that the facetime app is merged with the phone app so when you click on the phone app and click on a contact it should say facetime!

I am so frustrated with mail. It keeps hanging and it's not synchronized across all my devices. Is there a better app?

Am I the only one having such a frustrating time with mail? I'm working along and suddenly if just stops responding. If I wait long enough, it will come back to life, but who wants to work through 100 emails, that way? Also, it is not always synchornized across my devices. I forward all my accounts to icloud.

IChat and google apps accounts for group video chat

Does group video chat in iChat work with Google Apps email accounts added under gtalk?

No.
iChat can Video Chat to iChat users only in Video chats 3 or 4 ways
This can be based on Jabber (Google Facebook Other) Buddy list or from an AIM Login list (AIM, @Mac.com or @Me.com) but you cannot mix and match Buddies from AIM and Jabber.
Not even in 1-1 chats will iChat VIdeo Chat to:-
The GoogleTalk app (Standalone on PCs),
Any Web Browser Login to Google (Mail or iGoogle page) This uses the Google Plug-in for Video chats of which there is a Mac and PC version)
Or any Other Jabber app that would do Jabber Video
Jabber use a Connection Protocol called Jingle.
This is in those Jabber Apps that have it, the Google Standalone app, that the web Browser plugin.
It is not compatible with the SIP (Session Initiation Protocol) that iChat uses.
(in fact the Google Variant of this is not that compatible with other Jabber apps)
