Video clip sound after burning

I use Adobe Premiere Elements 10, and I recently made a music video. I put a soundtrack to it. I turned the video clip sound all the way off and just let the soundtrack play over it, like a music video. I then burned it to a disk and played it on my DVD player. When it was playing, I noticed that the video clip sound and the soundtrack were both playingand over lapping each other. I burned several disks after turning every other sound off but the soundtrack, and still the video clip was playing over it. Please give me advice on how to fix it, as it would be appreciated.

Welcome to the forum.
First, I would play the Timeline with the Audio Mixer Panel open, and watch for the Levels of the other Video Tracks. You can also use that to Mute other Audio Tracks.
One can also Alt-click on the Audio portion of the Clip, and just Delete that.
Now, did you place your music onto the Fixed Soundtrack Audio Track? Some users have experienced problems with the two Fixed Tracks, Soundtrack and Narration, and the normal "fix" is to just drag the music (or narration) to an empty, "regular" Audio Track.
Good luck,
Hunt

  • Poor quality (vibration) on video clips when it burns onto DVD

We created 15 mins video on Final Cut Express, saved on Quick Time, and burned onto DVD. Although the video on Quick Time was fine, some of the quality of the video clips on DVD we burned was so poor....It had so much vibration on some of the video clips. We tried on both Best Performance & Best Quality, but they both had poor quality. Do you have any suggestions? Do you think upgrading to I Life 08 will help? Please Help!!!! Thanks!

It had so much vibration on some of the video clips.
Video on a DVD is mpg-2 compressed (which looks at frame to frame differences in compression) and is interlaced.
If you have content with lots of movement - like many hand-held shots - mpg-2 compression and interlacing will act to create lots of 'jumping' or 'vibration'. The only solution is to use a tripod and avoid shaky, hand-held shots.
BTW, for a short clip, 'Best Performance' will give you the best quality you can get.

  • Mute background track so you can hear video clip sound?

Using iMovie '11, on a project with mixed stills and video, I want to mute the background music I have added while the video clips are playing so you can hear the audio on the clip and them=n bring the volume back up for the still shots.  I can see how to mute the video, but not in the direction that I want.
    Thanks

You can use the ducking feature to achieve this. You select your video clip and open the Inspector to the Audio Tab. Then apply ducking. Ducking will diminish all other clips except this one by the percentage that you specify.

  • "No Video Clips Match" after Import Movie

    Hi,
I'm trying to import a group of videos into iMovie. They are in the range of 400--900 meg. Some of them import fine. Some of them go through all the process of importing, but then afterwards, I click on the event they should be in and it just shows: "No video clips match the current selection". On of the movies that does not import has the following properties:
              6gig
      .m4v format
              JVT/AVC Coding, 640 x 512 (677 x 512)
              AAC, 48000 Hz, Stereo (L R)
              25 FPS
These are more or less the same as the ones that work.
I'm importing by going to File->Import->Movies with the settings:
    Create new event
Optimize: either Full Size or Large
Move file and Copy file both tried
    Any thoughts?
    Thanks

Provide screenshots of your timeline with keyframes revealed, your render settings and your footage interpretation of the source file (s) in question. And please look up the big words in the AE help. Nothing personal and most of us "just want to get things done", but knowing a few basics and the right terminology in a complicated program like AE is inevitable. YouTube tutorials mostly leave out that part....

  • Last-minute help! Video quality drops after burn

I'm exporting a video out of FCP using Compressor, saving directly to the DVD format for burning inside DVD Studio Pro. When I preview the video inside DSP, it looks amazing. After I finish burning the disc and view it in DVD Player, the video quality looks horrible.
    See a screenshot here:
    http://www.door62.com/temp/DVD-quality.jpg
The one on the left is DVD Player, the one on the right is the preview inside DSP.
Any advice? This is actually ridiculously last-minute... Any help would be hugely appreciated

I have been having simliar trouble, esp. with textured backgrounds in the video.
Specifically, someone sitting in a board room delivering a short message (2 minutes) on camera. The background is a textured wood panel with a continuously changing color gradient.
I encode in Compressor, NTSC lower field, 2-pass VBR, 6.1 Mbps avg., 7.2 Mbps max., AIF audio. I have also tried a number of bit rate variations including CBR and AC3 audio.
I drop the clip in a DVDSP track and it looks fine in simulator. Also open the m2v in QT Pro, it looks fine.
After building, I check the TS_Folder in Apple DVD Player, and the background pulses, shifting from light to dark and is filled with artifacts. It looks even worse on a set-top player.
I have had problems like this a number of times, and end up having to use other programs on Windows to get around it. Kind of a pain.

  • Incorrect sound after burn

We have just bought Apple G5’s for our school, so students can video edit. So far there has been no problems. But lately a couple of machines have started burning another soundtrack onto the completed movie. The preview looks and sounds correct.
Several users use the same machines which I have read can be a problem, but as it is a school there is no way around this. I have looked for the /tmp/tempmovie file suggested in other posts and I cannot find the file if it is present?
Any other suggestions would be much appreciated, as the students need to complete this work soon so they can get a mark?
    Thanks

    Hi vaiman:
    Try it again like this:
*In the Finder, choose 'Go to Folder...' from the Go menu.
    *Enter /tmp and click OK.
*Find the file called tempmovie.mov and drag it to the trash.
*You'll be asked to enter your Mac's administrative password.
    *Enter it and click OK.

  • No sound after burning

I've been searching this forum, and followed most, but still have this problem.
I'm attempting to burn a "purchased" playlist in Toast Lite. iTunes is set to audio cd . The disk is a Memorex CD-R. I drag the playlist to the Toast interface. All songs load and show they are now AIFF files. I hit the burn button and all goes well. Disk burns and says its finished. I eject and re-load for playback. Disk shows in itunes, with all songs present. But, alas when I hit Play, nothing! No sound. Seems I've tried every combination of burn, only to wast 5 or 6 CD's.
    Thanks for any help... anyone?
      Mac OS X (10.3.9)

Only iTunes can burn audio CDs from music purchased from the iTMS. Since you're not running Tiger, which adds much better support for third-party optical drives, your best bet might be to try Patchburn (a Google search will lead you to the right place) in order to get your drive recognized by iTunes.

  • Why does the Video looks Pixelated after Burning DVD

In IDVD when I preview the video it looks great, when I burn the DVD it comes out very very pixelated. I've changed the preferences from Best Performance to Best Quality, and the project properties as well I've done the same. Does anyone know why this is happening?
I'm using 16:4 aspect ratio Video Size is 1280x720
    Help

How are you viewing the DVD you created - on a computer or on a TV?
In IDVD when I preview the video it looks great
The preview uses your original content on your hard drive and is simply designed to allow you to see if the 'flow' (sequences, menus, etc) are what you wanted.
In addition, although iDVD 'supports' HD, it only supports it in the context of current specifications - not the new HD DV world that has two competing HD DVD formats.
This means your 1280x720 content gets downsized and compressed to fit on a 720x480 DVD. The video must be 'expanded' to play on a HD set.
BTW, your aspect ratio is 16:9 and NOT 16:4. 16:4 would REALLY be widescreen! I haven't seen THAT spec yet.

  • Lines in video on pans after burned

I have tried to burn some quick time movies using idvd. I've created the menus and all that, but each time I burn a dvd of it, and play it back, whenever there is movement on the video, there are jagged lines that move across the images. I have been using the sony DVD - +RW disk. Could this be the problem? Should I be using the DVD -R?
Or is there a setting that I am missing? any suggestions would be appreciated, as it's driving me crazy. When I view the video in the DVD preview mode, its fine.

    Hi r
And to add to Sue's fine answer I come to think of the rendering process.
How do You move Your movie to iDVD ?
By Share/Export to iDVD within iMovie ? Don't
    Close iMovie
Open iDVD and start a NEW DVD project.
Now drop the iMovie project icon (the one with a star on it) into the theme window.
Did the movie name come up as text ? OK
Now make a disk image and run it with Apple DVD-playe.
    Plays OK ? Doesn't it ?
Now burn with iDVD or Apple Disk Util tool (from image = faster)
and as Sue states. Verbatim-DVD + at an as low speed as possibly (Apple Disk util tool)

  • Lost Sound after burning to iDVD

I have 53 minutes of marching bands that plays perfectly in iMovie. I chose the White Reflections theme in iDVD and the project works on the computer. After hours of transferring the DVD looks beautiful but there is no sound. The original sound is embedded in the HD formatted tape. I really need some suggestions since the Band Director is depending on this DVD.
    Thanks

    Welcome to discussions!
This is what Apple has to say regarding your problem:
iDVD 6: No audio on finished DVD

  • Video loses SYNC after burning from DVDSP

I have some video content that intermittently loses sync when burned to a DVD created by DVDSP4. Looks fine on FCP and when burned to videotape from FCP. Any suggestions to resolve this issue? Thanks.

I assume the 2GB file size limit is due to FAT32 on the video camera HD. Is there a tool to join the .MTS files before I convert them into .MOV files using Voltaic?

  • Video clips missing after import Please advise

I am new to this whole video editing and just learning. Before taking it to an editor I tried to import a DVD I had transferred from a VHS tape. All the video os on the DVD that was made but when i convert took the DVD and imported it I am missing about 5 minutes of footage that I needed.
I read by using the disk utility and selecting the disk and then select new image it was able to transfer into readable files for Imovie. But in the import window there is a time stamp that says 9:58 seconds but I am still missing several minutes of video. What am I doing wrong.

    Hello again,
I just converted one of the H.264 QT movies to 'Apple Intermediate' and now the both video and audio assets import just fine.
So, I must assume that the problem has something to do with H.264, but any light that can be shed on this would be appreciated.

  • Audio won't play after replacing the video clip with after effects composition?

I am using CS5.  Still new to this stuff so let me know if you need extra info. None of the faq guides have been helpful.

The audio is still in the project, but won't play in the canvas... this was solved by Richardttt... see this thread: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1491870&tstart=0
I tried this and it works but still don't know why it happened: Under Object Menu, select Unsolo>Video Only.
