Video comparison between the 6270 and 6280

What is the maximum video resolution of the 6270? Does it have 640 x 460 resolution that the 6280 has?
And for anyone who has handled both, is there much difference between the two for operating systems, camera quality, memory and the lot?
Grateful if anyone could let me know. Thanks in advance.
Axel

Ok, I did some research and after a lot of looking, I found out that the 6270 DOESN'T HAVE THE VIDEO RECORDING OPTIONS OF THE 6280!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Arrrrrrrrrrrrgh! Nokia, what are you doing to me? Finally a quad band handset I could consider getting and what do you do?? Make it the red-headed step child of the 6280!
Oh the humanity!!!!
Are there any other quad band handsets from Nokia that someone could recommend, other than the N80?

  • Questions on the comparison between Oracle Forms and Oracle APEX

    Hi All,
The link below presents information about Oracle Application Express for Oracle Forms Developers, the table at the end of the page shows a comparison between Oracle Forms and Oracle APEX, all the points of comparisons are clear for me except 3 points which are:
•Locking, what is meant by locking models?
•Database Connections, what is meant by Synchronous/Asynchronous connections in Oracle Forms and Oracle Apex?
•Architecture, what is meant by 2tier and 3 tier connections?
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/database/application_express/html/apex_for_forms.html
What I need is a simple explanation for these points without deep details.
    Thanks

    Hi
That is how I understand that document:
Locking: Forms, by default, locks a row as soon as the user starts modifying the data. That is pessimistic locking. Apex, on other hand (and optionally forms also) do not lock the record, but before applying any changes checks if the data has changed since the user queried it (what for some reason is called optimistic "locking")
DB connections: I am not sure why they used the terms synchronous/asynchronous, but the difference is that Forms, by default, keeps an permanent DB connection while the user is using the application, while Apex gets a connection from a connection pool every time a page is requested/submitted.
Architecture: Forms (in its web version at least) has 3 tiers: the browser, the appserver where the forms service runs and the database. As Apex runs inside the database, there are only 2 tiers: the browser and the database (though you still may need an http server in between which serves static content, I don't think it is considered part of the application in this context). If you are talking about client/server forms, then there are only 2 tiers.
    I hope this helps!

  • Is there a difference between the X and Y input parameters of a "=" comparison?

    Hello,
In the attached Vi, if I switch the input parameters of the equal comparison, the Vi compiles. Otherwise it shows the class conflict error.
In the real system, I just switched between the parameters and everything worked fine but I'd like to know why this version is wrong so next time I don't waste so much time debugging.
    Thanks,
    Marce

It looks like you dropped a refnum from the front panel palette and then set the type to boolean; this created a weak-typed refnem. To make a strong typed refnum, right click on the control and select create reference; a reference appears on the block diagram. Go to the reference and right click create control. The reference control on the front panel now has the orange star indicating that it is strong typed.
I don't know why equals behaves the way it does with weak-typed references. You might also experiment with the equals operator on the Express palette.

  • What are the differences between the Tour and the Bold ??

I am eligible for the "new-every-2" and I REALLY want to get the TORCH, but since Verizon can't get off it's duff and hurry along the production of a similar model, I am stuck with looking at the Bold.  I don't want the Droid or the Storms.  I don't like how the Storms don't have a physical keyboard and how you have to press and "click" the screen.  You can't just touch it like with the Droids.
Anyway.......  I am looking at the Bold and wondered what the real differences are between the Bold and the Tour, other than the Track-Pad (which I've heard is a HUGE improvement!) ??  If the differences are really not significant, then I'll just stick with my Tour until Verizon finally DOES come out with a new model that I'd actually like to try.
    Thanks.

  • I can't decide between the 20" and 24" iMac C2D

    Hey all...
I am in the process of selling my Power Mac G5 Dual 1.8GHz with 2GB of RAM as I want to move to an iMac C2D. I keep flip flopping between the 20" and 24". The only upgrade I would get for either would be bumping the memory to 2GB. The price delta between the two is $500. That additional $500 buys me a larger screen, better video and better speakers. I am also leveraging my daughter's educational discount.
I don't use my Mac for business. I use it for email, web browsing and research. In addition, I am a heavy iLife user, except for Garage Band. I use iTunes and iPhoto a lot. I also import movies into iMovie and iDVD. It will be used every day after work for about 3 hours and a lot on the weekends.
My Power Mac is running fine and has served me well for the last two years. I figured I'd sell it while I can still get some decent money for it (my eBay auction ends tonight!).
I just really want an iMac. There is something to be said for using a Mac with an Apple display. My G5 was connected to a Dell 2005FPW 20" widescreen. I also have two AMD based machines running Windows/Linx connected to my new Dell 2407WFP 24" widescreen and it is almost too big! Those are used for gaming, development, virtual machines, etc.
Is the 24" overkill? I don't know. It looked beautiful last night in the Apple Store.
    Thoughts. Comments? Suggestions?

Hi there. I recieved mu 24" imac on Thursday this week having sent back my 20" as soon as the 24" came out. It was the best decision i ever made. I do alot of photo retouching and editing as I am a photographer and have only just started playing with the computer. The screen makes a massive difference, not only for photo's but for all other things, it enables you to keep windows open at a good viewing size and see them all on screen at the same time.
I know its a difficult decision as had to convince my girlfriend that it was worth the extra cost, but i am so glad to have done it.
The 20" was lovely and a fantastic size, the extra 4" is a worthy investment.
I was worried it was overkill also, but after using it today fully for the first time i could not imagine having a smaller screen.
Hope this helps, using Photoshop and Aperture means i really appriciate the extra space, but when i browse the web the pages do tend to look a little lost!! ;o)

  • Looking for Performance Comparisons Between JRockit 6 and Sun Java SE 6

    Hello,
Can someone point me to some performance comparisons (benchmarks, etc.) between the JRockit and Sun JVMs?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Ben.
Before I send to to the SPEC sites (which can be a tad hard to parse) I must ask - What application or type of application are you interested in? The answer will vary a bit depending on what you need.

  • What is the difference between the Beige and the White and Blue?

I am trying to convince my Granny that Macs are better than windows. Well, she and I LOVE computers! She started me on the computer ever since I was old enough to sit in her lap and pound the keys( at the age of two I could run a computer blind folded). At her house she is running a brand new Dell. And she is having problems with it already. And the second computer at her house is the one that I use (I HAVE to share with my little sister). *Personaly at home I run a iMac G5 (iSight)* Well, the one at my Grannys that I use crashed. So my Granny asked me what computer I wanted to replace it. At this point I had the biggest grin on my face. She new I wanted something expensive. I wanted another iMac for at her house also. She then said to keep it fairly cheap. So I went to www.macsofalltrades.com and she ordered me a PowerMac G3 (blue and white) for only 125 dollars. I want to know what the difference is between the blue and white and the beige.
    Thanks
    ~Kevin Duncan~

Eustace has provided great practical buying advice.
    Architecturally:
The Blue & White has a 100 MHz Bus where the beige has a 66 MHz Bus. B&W takes faster memories, and up to 1 GB total.
B&W generally offers faster processors: 350, 400, 450, and ad-ons at higher speeds.
B&W has more and wider PCI slots, but total throughput appears to peak at about 53 MB/sec.
B&W has no built-in display card, but shipped with a good one with 16 MB display memory in the top (faster) PCI slot.
Beige has two serial ports, B&W has no serial ports, no LocalTalk, but does have a slot for a modem.
Beige has a floppy drive, but Mac OS X dropped support for it. B&W has no floppy drive.
B&W claims to support larger and faster hard drives, but the Rev 1 can become flaky if its original 4, 6, or 8 GB drive is replaced with a faster one. Some Users have resorted to a PCI slot Drive Controller card.
B&W has USB, but some users find it does not work well with devices faster than a mouse, and end up replacing it with a PCI slot card.
B&W has fireWire, but some users find it does not work right for external Hard drives, and end up adding a PCI Card to replace it.
If you edit photos, videos, or sound, you will need a G4 with its number-crunching ability.
When you write all that down, it does not make the [Rev1 anyway] Blue & White seem like a good Mac to buy.

  • HT202157 What is the difference between the 1st and 2nd generation Apple TV?

What is the main difference between the 1st and 2nd generation Apple TV's? I just got the 1st generation and was wondering if I should send back for the 2nd gen?

There is one other difference. The ATV3 uses a new processor with a better graphic processing unit.  If you only had the ATV2 for less than 14 day. Why not upgrade. 1080p video will be a little sharper, but in reality most people won't notice any real difference. It's likely that Apple will stop supporting the ATV 1st gen and 2nd gen in couple of years. Apple as a company usually only supports hardware 5-6yrs max!

  • Why there are fog between the display and the glass?

Something weird happened to my iMac. I think there is a gap between the display and the glass at the front, right? Today I found some "fog" on the inner part of the glass. I think there are some water vapor in the gap and it condense to form some fog on the glass. I once tried to used a Hairdryer and blew some worm air on to the glass at the front. It works, the fog disappeared. However, after a while, the fog appears again! What can I do????

According to one Mac genius I spoke with, the cleaning kit is used by repair techs at the Apple Store. Not sure if they sell it since the inside of the glass display is not user-serviceable. The kit I was told has, among other items, a plastic film that peels off the last bit of debris from inside the glass. Check out this video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=frfzESC-ahM

  • Communication between the computer and the disc drive failed

The disc can’t be burned because because communication between the computer and the disc drive failed (error code 0x80020022). This computer has been out of the box for less than a month and this has been a growing problem.

My problem was FIXED at the apple store..... there was something wrong in the system preferences and the genius deleted something that recreated it's self. Surely enough we we're able to burn a 600 mb dmg of nothing onto a few test disks. For anyone having this issue...it's NOT The media, it's some configuration issue within the computer's preferences. I'm telling you all to take your machine to the nearest apple store and have them fix it, if your machine is still under warranty the fix is free. There was no hardware issue, so the optical drive was not replaced.

  • Tethering via USB between the Z10 and a laptop or PC & and few Comments About the Playbook Tethering

Tethering via USB between the Z10 and a laptop or PC can be a bit tricky.
On the Z10 do the following:
On the Z10 go to the Settings.
    Go to Network Connections.
    Go to Internet Tethering.
    Select USB.
    Turn on Tethering.
On the computer run the Blackberry Link software for the Z10:
Once the software starts, connect the Z10 via the USB cable to the PC.
    Open the browser.
You should now be able to cruise the net, and do emails.
With the Playbook, the Bluetooth tethering does not yet work. This may be an OS or communications issue.
The best way to tether the Playbook for full speed and functions is using the WiFi option. Simply turn on the WiFi hot spot option and follow the instructions. The Playbook WiFi must also be properly set up. The Z10 USB and Bluetooth tethering mode must be turned off when using the WiFi mode. You can leave the base Bluetooth active on the Z10. There is a lot of available information about using the WiFi hot spot from the Z10. The process is very similar to the past models of Blackberry phones.
If you use the Bridge mode to tether, the Playbook email client software does not work very well. The browser will work fairly well, but slower with the Bridge mode. With WiFi the Playbook can brows at very high speed. With Bluetooth it is restricted to about 1.5 to 2.5 mb/sec. Take care that the WiFi mode burns through battery time very fast on both the Playbook and the Z10. Using the Bridge mode uses less power consumption than WiFi.
To use the Bridge mode, make sure the Playbook and the Z10 are first Bluetooth mated. Also the Bridge mode has to be set up between the devices. You will have to first install the Bridge software in to the phone for this to work.
I did extensive testing between the Z10 and the Playbook. They function well together as far as Internet and email are concerned, in consideration of using either tether or Bridge, depending on what you want to do.
From what I understand the Bridge mode uses some compression. It will not be as fast as using WiFi or Bluetooth tethering. The data cost using the Bridge mode is probably a bit lower because of the compression.
As far as the Bridge phone options are concerned, these features are not yet available. From what I read in a number of articles there are going to soon be some updates coming out to fix this. The Bridge options are a big part of the tablet application with the Blackberry phone. This was the big original application point of this tablet, otherwise any generic tablet would do the job.

From the look of this thread it appears that no one outside of Canada uses an OS 10 BB yet.  247 views and no comments or help ?  I'm sure I'm not the only BB user that uses Tether.  If BB doesn't care to help then this will just be another nail in the corporate coffin that has been projected.
Maybe we need different forums for US users as the Canadians don't seem to have the same issues or cares.
The whole idea of the app Tether is not to have to pay the outrageous tethering fees that US carriers charge and it has worked well for years.  But it can't work and won't work in the future without help from BB and the BB community.
