Hi, I scoured the forums and couldn't find anything that really satisfied my question: Can I stream videos over the internet without encoding anything?
For example, I want to stream my library of about .75 TB from my computer at my college apartment to pretty much any other place I'm at, with no (or minimal) encoding. On the fly encoding would be possible to do since my computer is pretty beefy and should be able to handle it.
Linux to Windows would probably be preferable.

Video downloading via internet on Lumia devices
Can Lumia 510 dowload videos from the internet from sites other than facebook or marketplace?
Solved!
Go to Solution.You cannot download video files on Nokia Lumia 510, but you can, however, stream supported videos by opening them in the browser. If you want to get a video file on your device, you'll need to transfer it using Zune or Windows Phone 7 Connector for Mac (can be downloaded on AppStore).
There is an app to download videos from you tube http://www.windowsphone.com/en-gb/store/search?q=youtubedownloader
If i have helped at all a click on the white star below would be nice thanks.

What is the required download and upload speed (kbps) in order to conduct video/audio sessions in iChat via the Internet?
Skype does not yet support video on the Mac, so the best you can do Mac to PC on Skype right now is audio to audio.
Using the iSight camera as the Skype microphone often doesn't work very well, so you probably would be better off using a built-in microphone (if you have one) or an external USB microphone like the Logitech USB Desktop Microphone.
If you want to discuss it further, you can try video connecting to my Mac at [email protected] -
Videos played via internet are so slow and choppy, SLOW Firefox
Was wondering if anyone knew for sure the reason why videos/movie trailers played thru either Safari or Firefox are extremely slow and choppy on my G5 imac or G4 iBook laptop. Not sure if the outdated processors cant handle the flash embedded videos Youtube, Quicktime and other sites post, but it is really annoying not to be able to watch anything smoothly. Even if i let the entire video load (if it is a quicktime), then play it, it still is very choppy. The audio plays fine, but the video never keeps up. I have a 6mb DSL connection, so that cant be the problem. Any video I play via my iPod Touch (aside from flash videos it cant play) they are as smooth as can be (And that is via a wireless connection). Which makes me think it is a processor issue. Any thoughts?
Anyone have any suggestions on how I can remedy this situation? (aside from buying a new computer...)
PLUS, does anyone notice how slow Firefox is, or is it just me? Seems like even when i type in this form field, time lags as the letters show up. I have the latest version, and it is so slow. Switching tabs takes time... Reading and accessing RSS fields in the Feed Sidebar plug in is really slow...
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!QuickTime is designed to "drop" frames during playback when the machine can't keep up with the video data rate (audio continues normally). This may appear as a "stutter" during playback on an older machine.
It's not based on the Internet connection speed.
Apple movie trailers use the newer (2005) H.264 video codec and they demand a high CPU (Intel is best). You should get better performance on your G5 than on the G4.
Videos encoded using Flash will be equally difficult to view on older machines -
Transfer mpeg video to ipad via internet
How to transfer mpeg video to ipad via internet?
Another way. You can use a USB flash drive & the camera connection kit.
Plug the USB flash drive into your computer & create a new folder titled DCIM. Then put your movie/photo files into the folder. The files must have a filename with exactly 8 characters long (no spaces) plus the file extension (i.e., my-movie.mov; DSCN0164.jpg).
Now plug the flash drive into the iPad using the camera connection kit. Open the Photos app, the movie/photo files should appear & you can import. (You can not export using the camera connection kit.)

Video Chat via Playbook PIN's, having problems...
I have two Playbooks on OS2.0 sharing the same Blackberry ID. I'm trying to use Video Chat via Playbook PIN's and I'm not having any luck. Call attempts fail with "The person you called is not currently available".
- both Playbooks have Accept Calls On
- both Playbooks are on the same home wi-fi network, i.e. same router
- the router has firewall enabled (Toggling off the firewall doesn't seem to help and I'd rather have it on. Skype works from the desktop computer with firewall on.)
- in Contacts, both Playbooks show each other with green video chat icons. Turning off Accept Calls will actually change the state of the video chat icon to gray, as expected. (The state change doesn't update immediately, but after a failed call.) This tells me that the Playbooks are talking to RIM's servers?
- I'm not getting the "A Firewall is preventing Video Chat from connecting" or "Unable to Connect to Server" error messages. http://btsc.webapps.blackberry.com/btsc/search.do?cmd=displayKC&docType=kc&externalId=KB26845 This leads me to believe that the Playbooks are able to see RIM's servers?
- Some people have reported that putting the Playbook in the DMZ (DeMilitarized Zone) of the router works, but it's risky security-wise (The Playbook is open to the general internet.). My router only allows for one IP address in the DMZ, which isn't useful with my two Playbooks.
- The alternative to DMZ is port forwarding, which is more secure. My router only allows specific IP's to be used and since the Playbook IP's are dynamically allocated, setting this isn't helpful. http://btsc.webapps.blackberry.com/btsc/search.do?cmd=displayKC&docType=kc&externalId=KB26816
Could someone with two Playbooks sharing the same Blackberry ID's please try to use Video Chat via Playbook PIN's and report whether it works or not? I'd like to isolate out whether it's a problem with Video Chat or my router/home wi-fi.
Thank you!It won't work since they have the same blackberry ID.
I have tried many time and it won't work. Only the playbook that last connected to app world can use video chat.

How to Use calendar service via internet not intranet
Hello:
I wanted to know if there is any change or stuff (like proxy web server) to use the calendar via Internet.
i.e.
i access the calendar on my networ througth http://hostname.domainname.com:portnumbre.
When i try to access via internet therougth www.domainname:portnumer, it cannot be accesible.
What are the procedures, by the way i have used the evaluation senario for this.
Thanks in advice.Hi:
Thanks for the reply but still yet it does not fix my problem.
Let me explain a little bit more:
The DNS looks up to the ip so the access page can be reached, but when i try to use the service it does not work.
So i guess i need to ad some line to ics.conf?? or something else:
My domain internally just works fine.
host.mydomain.com:3080
and i access and use the clalendar
however when outside the intranet i.e my home i use:
www.mydomain.com:3080
It accesses to the page where it asks me for login, but it does not authenticate. and continues asking for a user.
Thats why i think there must be some change in the configuration or software.
Once More
Thanks -
Hi folks,
Could you please shed me some light where can I find relevant document re. remote setup/configure server via Internet. I have been searching on Wiki without result. I have no problem to setup/configure server remotely on Intranet via ssh. TIA

For your name check /etc/rc.conf and /etc/hosts
on /etc/rc.conf
changed;
HOSTNAME="arch"
to;
HOSTNAME="arch.satimis.com"
similar to that on /etc/hosts. Rebooted PC
Now
$ hostname
$ hostname -f
arch.satimis.com
Thanks. Is there any way avoiding a reboot?
On iptables it would depend on method, to know your IP, hopefully it's static.

would be thankful to him/her...Are you using a BT Home Hub with the IP Phone attached. This holds onto the SIP port that iChat uses. There is no way to get the router to release this port.

Is it possible to have a VI "run when opened" when accessed via Internet Explorer?
I am trying to get a remote panel application to "run when opened" when is accessed via Internet explorer. I have multiple remote panel licenses on the server and the VI is Re-entrant. The application works well except for this issue. Having the VI "Run When Opened" via IE is very important to the user. As is, when IE opens, the user must click on the panel image once to get the VI's attention and then again on the start arrow to run the program. Is there any way around this or a way to simplify the process?
Thanks.
Solved!
Go to Solution.This is actually the intended operation of remote front panels, however, we can simplify the operation to meet closer with what your customer wants. Basically, if you were to always have your program run in somewhat of an idle state, you can use the Application Control>>Property node for 'RemotePanel.ConnToClients' property to determine when a user is connected and run the proccess of the program as soon as a connection is detected. When no connection is detected you could have the program run in an idle state. The attached screenshot shows a general way to do this. Have a good evening!

Connect Oracle e-Businss suite 11i or r12 via internet
Hello,
I have question regarding accessing Oracle e-Business suite (11i or r12) via internet from remote location.
We currently have e-business suite accessed by VPN connection from remote location.
I would like to know if possible to configure Oracle e-business suite that user can access them via internet.
Just as end users can access web based time card such as ADP site, where everything is located on ADP server and
subscribing company employees access them via internet.
thank you in advance.Paul,

Satellite C50-A-15L: unable to play music or video files via media player
Hi all
I am having problems with my media player and explorer functions all of a sudden - it seems to have occured after a recent 'important update' (always causes more issues than fixes).
Anyway, since this update, I have been unable to play any music or video files via the media player or cut and paste any items when sorting files out.
All fine previously, but now when I highlight and click 'cut', the timer cuts in and the window goes straight to 'not responding'. Drag and drop works OK, then going back to delete files.
As for media files, double click one and no response, right click and 'open', again, nothing...
Anyone else experienced similar problems?
Of know of a fix or patch?
Many thanks
MattFrom my point of few you have no problems with notebook but with Microsoft system.
"Hotmail" isnt Toshiba product.
If you have problems login the Hotmail account, you should contact the Microsoft support for help.
By the way: you can always set the system back to early time point before you received any updates.
Windows 8 creates a restore point for you automatically during Windows Updates and other system maintenance events.
Open charm bar (Win key + c), choose Apps and search for Restore Point. Then click on Settings. On the left hand side you will see the option called Create a restore point.
New window would open. Within the System Protection tab choose System restore.
Clicking on Next would lead to next step where you could restore the computer to the sate it was before the selected event (windows update).
