Video conferencing help

Hi Guys,
Im extremely new to java, im trying to find out how to go about setting up a peer to peer video conferencing on my website. So that users that are logged into my site
can chat to each other. Does anyone know of any tutorials around that can help me?
thanks.

  • Need help with an Apple Video Conferencing webcam

I am having a fit trying to get my Performa (6500/225) to work with the hardware I have. Previously I had a Performa 6400/180. I have an Apple Video Conferencing webcam that I was able to make work with OS 9.1. It worked with the original software that came with it and it worked with the software for the Logitech Quickcam (QuickPict setting) I was even able to use it with Ivisit (webcam program). Now that I've had to change the harddrive and reinstall everything, it doesn't work with anything but the original software.
Can anyone tell me what extensions I might need or how to configure it so it will work with what I already have?
    Performa 6500/225   Mac OS 9.1.x

Thanks to all who tried to help. As it turned out it was not a problem with the cam. It took some time and some tweaking but I did get it to work. I had a problem with the webchat program iVisit and I was able to get that solved thru their tech support forum.
This Apple Video Conference camera was a great find. I recommend it to anyone who still uses a vintage mac like mine. What a shame it was discontinued.

  • Pc-to-pc audio/video conferencing

I've been looking into the ability of a direct (secure) connection from one Linux machine to another for the purposes of audio/video conferencing.  I know there's stull like ekiga but that requires an account and a third party server.  I'm looking for a solution that would be completely maintained between the two or three linux machines directly (webcam/mic).  What's out there that I'm not seeing in google?

Also interested, been meaning to move away from Skype for a time now. I've looked/asked around and found opensips. You'll still need a client to manage calls though, I'll probably try out Twinkle. I'm going to spend some time trying to set it up myself. Hope it helps.
Edit Note: I quickly moved from twinkle to linphone.

  • Designing Cisco Video conferencing solution

    Hi All,
I need to design a single site Cisco IP Video Conferencing soultion which should support web, chat, ISDN and email etc support.
there will be one conferencing room which will be communicating with other remote or traving users.
the requirement is that remote or travelling users should be able to have the video conferencing facility with the Headoffice(single site) and vise versa.
Any help will be much appreciated.
    Regards,
    Waqas

I would recommend Cisco unified presence server for your deployment with MPX. That will give you chat, voice and video conferencing. If you dont use MPX then you can only do point-to-point video CUPS on its own doesnt support video conferencing.
YOu can also intergrate with exchange to view meetings and unity to listen to voicemails.
You can use VTA for the remote clients and 7985 for central site or some sort of tanberg phone if you want a larger screen.
The remote users are going to have to have a pretty low latency connection to get good quality video/voice.

  • IP Video conferencing best practice - Tanberg/Cisco hardware

We are currently experiencing intermittant issues with our Video conferencing internal and external network with intermittant screen fragmentation. We have separate VLAN's configured on our internal network for the Video traffic only.   We use the movi client on the with the majority of our remote users.  I'm wondering what is the best practice based in setting up and support a Video conference network.

Have you set up QoS policies for video?
I have a very good network readiness document you are welcome to, if you want to ping me your email address?
I can't seem to copy it properly into the tech support app on my iPad, drop me an email to [email protected] and I'll send over the info - should help!

  • Video conferencing through Flex2

    Hi,
I am a newbie to Flex and wanted to know whether applications
like video conferencing, audio conferencing or chat are possible to
be developed in flex. If yes how could it be developed. Kindly
suggest me some tutorials or sites from which i could get the
    required help.
    Thanks and Regards

I'm a newbie too and found this site...
    http://mx.sys-con.com/read/223822.htm
It covers how to set up an application where you can see
yaself in the web cam and I think also stream the cam image through
a flash media server...although not sure.
Managed to get my cam image working fairly easily and
embedded in the application window which is the main thing though.
Not totally sure how you would go about getting the other person's
camera to appear on the same screen though...if you find out I
    would love to know.
    Good luck!

  • Test Plan for Video Conferencing

  • IChat AV video conferencing problems (again!)

The more experienced I get with Macs, the more nothing makes me want to bang my head against a brick wall quite like video conferencing with iChat. Why it can't "just work" like everything else on a Mac I just don't know.
Any way, my problem: In a nut shell I can no longer video conference with my parents (200 miles away so it makes for long telephone conversations when trouble shooting!). I can happily video conference with others so I'm thinking the problem is at their end not mine.
I'm using an iMac g5 with a BT Voyager 2091 wireless router with BT ISP. They are using an iMac g5 with a Zoom X5 on Karoo.
To complicate matters, I recently had a hard drive failure which resulted in reinstalling OSX. I have reconfigured all my port forwarding (I had to create a new static IP). And as I said I can video conference now with someone else in the same room on an iBook (I turned off my airport and used ethernet to make sure).
My parents also had to replace their router as the last one died. I set it up for them and did the port forwarding. After we couldn't make a video connection I've just been through the port forwarding again over the phone with my dad. It still doesn't work. I'm fairly confident he did it correctly (it took 3 hours!) so now I'm at a loss.
    Please help.

    Hi
Try connecting to me defcom1 .mac account.

  • IChat video conferencing problems

Hello folks. Can anyone out there help me?
Something is not set up right on my iMac G5 which means i can't video conference in iChat AV.
Whenever I try to set up video conferencing I get either an "unknown error" message or "<buddy> did not respond". I've been told that I need to do something with the port my BT Voyager 205 ADSL Router uses, but I don't know how to go about this.
Has anybody got any suggestions? Aled.

    HI Aled,
Do a search for the BT 205 at the topic level of thsi Discussion Area.
Also pop across to the iChat 3 one and do the same thing.
This page will lead you to a list of routers and modems.
Following the links brings you to this page which is the instructions with pic on how to do this (but only for the Text chatting port)
Repeat the final steps for the 22 ports needed to AV chat.
    5060, 5678, 16384-16403
This final group of 20 ports have to be entered one at a time on this device. Each port needs it's own Rule ID.

  • IChat video conferencing problems with D-Link WBR-1310

    Howdy,
I am having a few problems with iChat video conferencing. I use the D-Link WBR-1310 wireless router and a MacBook. My girlfriend has a MacBook Pro at her school which she connects to via ethernet. I connect to my router via wireless. The routher is connected to a DSL modem. iChat video conferencing tends to work sometimes but very rarely. I have DMZ on the router turned on as i read somewhere on these forums that it was recommended. I also have the Apple firewall turned off so my laptop is pretty much naked as far as security is concerned. Three other computers use the network One desktop PC connected directly into the router and two Apple iBooks which are connected via the wireless. The problem is that i keep getting error message -8. Can anyone please help?
    Thanks in Advance

I'd start by verifying you have the most recent firmware installed on your router.
Next, start off by trying to test to a user that has no known issues: http://www.ralphjohnsuk.dsl.pipex.com/ContactTesters.html (Bottom of the page)
That will help pinpoint where the connection issue lies.
Once you can succefully connected, then you should set up a static ip address on your mac and port forward the necessary ports in your router. If you router supports UPnP, I'd try enabling the first.
    I hope this helps!

Is it possible to create a video conferencing application using Adobe Air / Flex for iPhone and iPad ? There is a sample code available on the net on how to do this on Android. Does this works for iOs too ?

  • Netmeeting compatible video conferencing software for the Intel iMac?

I am currently using XMeeting V0.2, but the received video leaves a lot to be desired. The image quality, even at a slow frame rate and on a gigabit LAN, is no where near as good as on a PC running Netmeeting. In contrast, the transmitted video is perfect. I've played with the settings, but nothing seems to help. Anyone using XMeeting? If so, what settings are you using? Any other video conferencing Intel Mac software (free to cheap) I should try?

    The only one listed on
    http://www.applechat.info/
    for Netmeeting is:
    ohphoneX
Don't know if it is Intel Mac compatible.
You may also want to find out if any of the Windows solutions work well on Boot Camp or Parallel's Workstation, or Wintel Mac OS X which offer the ability to run a variety of Windows versions on Intel Macs.

  • Video conferencing & ISDN

I am waiting for my new iMAC with isight built in. Can anyone tell me whether it is possible to hook this up so I can do video conferencing to standard Polycom/Tanberg video conferencing equipment over ISDN lines?
I have ISDN 128k at home (BT Highway) and want to connect to a couple of hospital video conferencing facilities in the hospitals I work in. More or less everything is PC based in the NHS so it's no good asking anyone in the IT departments!
    Look forward to your reponses.
    Andy

    Hello Andrew,
    Welcome to Apple Discussions.
I have never used a Poiycom video conference, but, from reports posted here, ohphoneX
    b may
be able to do what you want. See its web site for compatibility info, system requirements, and instructions.
Your Polycom/Tanberg Video Conference System Administrator will have to help you with its requirements and what and how you can connect to that system.
If you search iSight Discussions (up one level) for "ohphoneX" (without the quotation marks) you will find several links related to Polycom and other video conference systems.
