Video content sources

This is probably a very politically incorrect question, but ...
Is there any other source of video for the iPod than iTunes? The selection there isn't suiting my taste. It seems rather limited. Any other way to get movies, documentaries, educational videos for my new iPod?

AVCHD Renamed becomes a useless folder! How do I get my Video Content to read?

I renamed the file named "AVCHD" after transferring it from my camera to my HD. Now, when I pull up it's info, it says that it is a folder, rather than "AVCHD Content." Quicktime won't open it or any of the files in the folder, and FCP X won't recognize it at all. How do I convert the file back to AVCHD? How can I read the video content on it? When I look in the folders, I'm sure the files that has my video content is under the extension .mts Within the AVCHD folder that I renamed, there are folders named: CLIPINF, PLAYLIST, STREAM and two files named INDEX.BDM, MOVIEOBJ.BDM The files with the .mts information, which I'm sure is my videos are in the folder named STREAM

There are some codecs that Quicktime or iMovie are not able to read - not all apps can read absolutely every format. That is why there are converters available. I have used MPEG Streamclip (free) for some time, but even that cannot read everything.

Video content crashes itunes

I cannot play video content on itunes using my ibook g4. I can download it and play it on my ipod. I can watch video content on bbc iplayer and youtube but if i try video content on itunes the below error occurs and itunes crashes. Can anyone help?

Try this simple test; create a new user account, open iTunes and download some video, then see if it plays. If so, you may have some software compatibility issue going on within your primary user account. In which case, you'll want to go thru and update versions of software. Grab the Combo OS Updater from Apple's site. Repair Permissions too. Make sure you have enough free space on your hard drive.

Thumbnails do not match video content when imported

My thumbnails do not match video content when imported. They assume the look of the first video imported into an event, while showing correct source content when skimmed through. Also, audio for every video clip I import is changed to that of the first clip imported in an event. Very awful to realize only when you've just imported every video you've made. Any thoughts?
Also, my source for clips is an external OneTouch drive, don't know if that plays into the import problem.

Is your Event source list visible on the bottom left of your screen? You should see all your events there.
There is a button at the extreme lower left of the imovie window which allows you to show or hide the event list. Make sure that it is in show position, so you can navigate to your other events.

Resizing video content

Is there a way to resize playback of video content w/ Front Row? My MacBook Pro automatically plays the tv shows I download from the iTunes store in full screen. This would be great if the shows were compressed for playback on ipods and larger displays!
Full-screen playback sometimes shows too much artifacting. Is there an option, like "presenting" in Quicktime Pro, of showing videos in normal or double size?

QuickTime can "Open URL" so all you need to do is view the page source code to find it and paste the complete (starts with http and ends with a QuickTime file extension) into that window.
You can then use the menu commands to enlarge the player dimensions.

Getting error while editing content source of search service application

Versioning and Video Content type does not work.

Hello,
I have out of the box sharepoint installed.
When I apply versioning to a library. And try to see "Document set version history" (as I suggest Video content type actually inherits from Document Set). I don't see any version.
Can you tell me how can i see versions of the "Video" content type item in this Version History window?

Document set versions are slightly different than item versions. Document sets can be managed by a separate ribbon tab called Document Set and group called Manage.

Web Content Source - Not Working

Created a new web-content source & full crawled it.
When i searched with content text, not working.

According to your description, my understanding is that it did not work when you searched a new web site content source in SharePoint 2013.
Please check whether the web site allows anonymous access to its content. If not, we need to configure a rule for the URL which allows us to enter the credential to access the content of site

Can I split iTunes library (video content on one machine, music on another)

I am running out of space on my MacBook Pro.
Is there a way I can keep all the music in the iTunes library on the MacBook Pro, and then move all my video content (which has almost filled all the drive space on the laptop) to my Mac Pro?
So basically have 2 different locations for iTunes content?

Search server express Content Source Type for file download

Hi All
We have recently installed Search Server Express 2010 in our organization. Now we want to create content source to search from our file server files.
Have used “File Shares" as "Content Source Type", and now this is working perfectly fine. But whenever we try to download the
files which are there in search result we wont be able to do that.
As well as search result shows the complete path of the file on file server.
Please let me know how to resolve this issue.

1. Should be much faster than that. Make sure you have an index on the KEY column (or, if a view, on the underlying column that the view is created on). Otherwise it will do a full table scan for each row it fetches.
2. 40 threads sounds a little high - we found the optimum level was between 10 and 15 threads. Have you checked the memory usage on the system? Perhaps all your threads are causing your system to page.
3. The column returning "LastModifiedDate" determines whether the content for that row needs to be reindexed. If LastModifiedDate is unchanged since the last crawl, the row will not be reindexed.

You can't. Only sources available is what is already set up...which is SharePoint/OneDrive4B and Exchange via eDiscovery.

Setting permissions in File shares content sources

Hello,
we want to crawl File Shares and set them available to searches. The set up of the crawler and the indexing is not a problem and works just fine.
The problem is that we would like to set the permissions on the results given from this content source and if possible to map the permission already on the files to the result scope. In simple words, only show the results (files) in which the AD User has
at least read privilege.
Is this possible? and if not which would be a solution of setting the permissions to this content source?

That is the default behavior of SharePoint search. It will automatically read and use the file ACL.
One thing to note is that often users can see files but not read them on the file system, in which case they will be able to find the files in the search engine but not open them nor see within the files.
