Video Converter + video compatabil

I have a Zen Vision : M 30Gb and I recently downloaded every possible firmware/application for my player. No problems with my firmware yet, but with an application.
My main problem is the video converter: I downloaded via Zencast (the newest) a few files with the
.M4v extension and also a .MP4 file
Now, I had to convert them because obviously my Zen vision: M player can't play them
So I open up my newly updated video converter, try to convert these files and while I see the 0% proces thing, the converter just crashes. It didn't crash before (the old version), it just wasn't able to convert any file back then. Not a real improvement but I can use any help =]
Now, I think .avi files normally work or do you need to convert them too?
Because I have an avi movie on it and it works perfectly but now it says they're not compatible with my player.
Thanks if you took the trouble to read this and thanks even more if you try to solve it.

Is there a way to achieve 1360 x 768 resolution with my Satelite P205? Do I need a different driver? Or...?

If your model number is correct you should have a 17" screen, which means your native resolution is 1400 x 900.
There would be no need for drivers, you can either right click anywhere in the desktop and look for an option to change the screen resolution. Also this can be achived in Control Panel > Appearance and Personalization > Display, there you can change resolutions, the max will be 1400, but you can choose a lower one, but I don't see the point for lower resolution.

  • How do I convert an old DCR file to a standard video file, like MP4?

Preferably, I would like to use a free, easy to use program to convert old DCR files to a video format that I can upload to YouTube, etc.

You could put the files somewhere and I can export them as QuickTime. Or you could find anyone you know who has Director. Or do the 30 day trial download
Another approach would be to play the DCR in a browser window, and do a screen recording. But that’s unlikely to give the perfect frame rate that you would get by exporting from Director.

  • Looking for help with converting a ppsx file to a video format such as .mov or mp4

Hi All,  I am looking for conversion software that will allow me to convert a ppsx file to a video file on OS10.5.8.

Hi Klaus1, Thanks for your response.  I can open and view the file without difficulty.  My issue is getting into a video format that I can upload to a Website for client viewing.  All the conersion products I can find are for a newer OS then 10.5.8.  I am working on a deadline of midnight tonight-and cannot upgrade that quickly.  So What I need is a conversion program that will still run on my OS

    Hi Naresh Bojja,
You'll have better luck getting help with .Net developer support on a .Net support site.
I don't know what's going wrong with the application but the iPhone supports the following video formats.
+Video formats supported: H.264 video, up to 1.5 Mbps, 640 by 480 pixels, 30 frames per second, Low-Complexity version of the H.264 Baseline Profile with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps, 48kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats; H.264 video, up to 2.5 Mbps, 640 by 480 pixels, 30 frames per second, Baseline Profile up to Level 3.0 with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps, 48kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats; MPEG-4 video, up to 2.5 Mbps, 640 by 480 pixels, 30 frames per second, Simple Profile with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps, 48kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats+ http://www.apple.com/iphone/specs.html

  • Which is the best software to convert the video files for itouch?

I got a 3rd gen itouch. Is there any software that helps to convert the video files. so I can sync those files to my itouch. " Handbrake " used to work pretty good. but now i still can convert the video files to m4v format but itunes doesn't allow me to put those files in. Please Help!

You may have different menu options than Half bit Bit Ah. The support page on how to do it is at https://support.apple.com/kb/TS1497. In part it says:
If you did not purchase videos from the iTunes Store, they are may not be in a format that you can play on your iPhone/iPod. In many cases, you can convert them to the correct format using iTunes or QuickTime.
    * Using iTunes: Select a video and choose Advanced > Create iPod or iPhone Version
    * Using Mac OS X v10.6: Open the video in QuickTime Player and choose Share > iTunes and then select the iPhone & iPod option.
    Hope that helps!

  • In iLife08 what is best setting to convert avi 720 and digital video 1080i

What is the bottom line for best quality for 720 p TV.
1.) My import is digital video 1080i to i Movie 08 (full quality)
What should I use for sharing on AppleTV
    - the preset Large (which is 960x 540)
    - or some custom setting 25 fps at 1220x 720? ( H.264 display dimensions at 24/25 fps is 720p (1280x720) ) - or what should the setting be??
2.) Have Windows avi older 720 *480 video, what is best setting to convert this for Apple TV? The 640 setting on QuickTime premium is not very good
    Thank you so much. Peter

Your best option if you are using NTSC footage in imovie is the export to/movie large (960 x 540) at 30 fps, the resolution won't go any higher and still work on the tv. Don't even think about changing the framerate to 24/25 fps, even though you'll be able to export to 720p (1280 x720) changing the framerate will make your video jerky.
If you are using PAL then yes you could export to 720p (even though the specs say 24 fps, 25 fps does in fact work as well), you could try a few tests yourself but I've already done them and IMHO there is so little difference between 960 x 540 and 1280 x 720 that it isn't worth messing about setting up and trying several manual exports to get the best results when you can click one button and be done.
So far a AVI conversion is concerned, I'd try mpegstreamclip, but saying that I can't really be sure. AVI is a container not a codec and I would need to know what codec is actually used inside the container to answer your question properly (Quicktime may tell you though). The problem with AVI is that it is simply so old (even microsoft abandoned it over 10 years ago), unfortunately in a small number of cases some of the codecs that were used in AVI are simply no longer able to be converted. Probably not so likely but at least you are warned.

  • Need to convert over video 100 files to iPod quality files

i have over 100 .mov files that i need to convert to mp4 in order to play on my Palm Treo 700p...
each original file is approx 78 to 81 megs... about 39 to 40 minutes of video. i am converting ONE file now and it told me it would take about 1 hour 55 minutes to convert it to the "convert to iPod" preset
at that rate, it will take forever to convert all these files... is there a faster way? or better settings to use in quicktime?
they don't have to be extremely high quality, they are lessons for bible classes i am taking, but i'd like the audio to be decent and for the video to be clear and not fuzzy...
thanks for any help you can provide.

I have both VisualHub and MPEG Streamclip.
At the moment, I only use VisualHub to handle a few quirky .mpg files which MPEG Streamclip had problems with (data breaks that aren't fixed) and FLV file conversion (because I don't have the new beta version of S'clip, which supports FLV).
But as Rick said, MPEG Streamclip works wonders for pretty much everything else. I still would recommend that first before VisualHub.

  • Need to convert video and audio files in high quality

Hi to all, i need to convert file types such as .AVI, .WMV and .MOV and keep the high quality, but i dont have or know any software to do this, are there any good options out there?
I don't really want to use a trial version, thanks.

I've used FFMpegX for my conversions. I've never looked at them on a large screen to see how well the video quality held on, but they look fine on my MacBook.

Is it a bad thing to put my MacBook Air 13" directly on my bed not raised on a flat surface?
    Yes, yes, and Yes
Considerations for the long life of your Macbook Air. Handling and environmental care tips
Don’t use your MacBook Air on the beadspread or pillow
Do not place your MacBook on a pillow or other soft material when it's powered on, as the material can block the airflow vents (in particular, the rear vents) and cause the computer to overheat. Never place anything over your keyboard when operating in closed-lid (clamshell) mode. This can cause your computer to cycle on and off, which might create excessive heat and drain your battery. Use a lapdesk if you want or plan on using your Macbook on your bed or couch, or in your lap.
Use of your notebook on a mattress or pillow blocks your notebook from circulating air as it needs to, and can lead to overheating rapidly
