My girlfriend has a Dell, and she wants to convert some videos so she can watch them on her iPod. I was just wondering if there is any program like iSquint that runs for Windows. Thanks for any help!

A good video converter for windows which helps to convert 1080p videos to1080p 1 video compatible with my iphone

I am using Any Video Converter Free which works quite well for me in converting videos. And I notice that it can also convert 1080p videos of vairous formats to 1000p in iPhone format. Have a try, anyway.

  • IPhone Video Converter for MAC

I have been looking everywhere and can't find a free iPhone Video Converter for the Mac. There is one but it is for windows.

Depends on the format you are converting -- Handbrake started as a Mac app (although it's also available for Windows) and is excellent.

  • What is the best video converter for DVD to iMovie? Either free or to purchase.

What is the best video converter for DVD to iMovie? Either free or to purchase.  And one that is 'fool-proof' and very easy to use.  Many thanks, anyone who can advise.

You want to 'reverse engineer' the compressed mpeg2 DVD file back to something iMovie can use?
You need to convert the VOB files in the TS-Folder of the DVD back to DV which iMovie is designed to handle. For that you need mpegStreamclip:
    http://www.squared5.com/svideo/mpeg-streamclip-mac.html
which is free, but you must also have the  Apple mpeg2 plugin :
    http://www.apple.com/quicktime/mpeg2/
(unless you are running Lion in which case see below))
    which is a mere $20.
Another possibility is to use DVDxDV:
    http://www.dvdxdv.com/NewFolderLookSite/Products/DVDxDV.overview.htm
    which costs $25.
For the benefit of others who may read this thread:
Obviously the foregoing only applies to DVDs you have made yourself, or other home-made DVDs that have been given to you. It will NOT work on copy-protected commercial DVDs, which in any case would be illegal.
And from the TOU of these forums:
    Keep within the Law
No material may be submitted that is intended to promote or commit an illegal act.
Do not submit software or descriptions of processes that break or otherwise ‘work around’ digital rights management software or hardware. This includes conversations about ‘ripping’ DVDs or working around FairPlay software used on the iTunes Store.
    If you are running Lion:
    From the MPEG Streamclip homepage
The installer of the MPEG-2 Playback Component may refuse to install the component in Lion. Apple states the component is unnecessary in Lion, however MPEG Streamclip still needs it.
To install the component in Lion, please download MPEG Streamclip 1.9.3b7 beta above; inside the disk image you will find the Utility MPEG2 Component Lion: use it to install the MPEG-2 Playback Component in Lion. The original installer's disk image (QuickTimeMPEG2.dmg) is required.
The current versions of MPEG Streamclip cannot take advantage of the built-in MPEG-2 functionality of Lion. For MPEG-2 files you still need to install the QuickTime MPEG-2 Playback Component, which is not preinstalled in Lion. You don't have to install QuickTime 7.

  • Any experience with Aunsoft Video Converter for Mac

I have a Panasonic Lumix FZ100 camera, and I am unable to download my High Definition movies from the camera to my Mac.  I have tested out the Aunsoft Video Converter.  Is this the best programme?
I can also get this bundled with a DVD ripper.  Will this work on my Mac, and can it convert or rip foreign DVDs (actually PAL but formatted for UK)?
    Ann-Marie Wasley

I am using some Aunsoft programs. Hope my information helps somehow.
The Aunsoft Video Converter for Mac is a nice program. I usually use it to convert my videos (AVCHD .mts format) that shot with my Panasonic camcorder to the Apple ProRes format for editing in Final Cut Pro X. Sometimes I also convert differnt videos to the MOV or MP4 format to watch on my idevices (iPad, iPhone, Apple TV, Macbook). The converter program worked nicely.
It seems your Panasonic Lumix FZ100 camera also shoots video in the AVCHD (.mts) format. If you want to convert your video footages with Aunsoft converter you need firstly transfer the video files from your camera to Mac using the USB cable that comes along with your camera. Then load the videos from your computer into the video converter. The .mov

  • AVC - Any Video Converter for Mac

    Hello,
I've been in search of a "complete" replacement for (now discontinued) VisualHub for converting "many"
video formats to the ones I use most frequently (DV, DVD, iTunes to name just 3).
Today, I found "Any Video Converter for Mac"
<http://www.any-video-converter.com/mac-software.php> but want to see if there are other Mac users out there, uh, using it. It's shareware: $44.95, so I'd like to know if it's worth the money b4 plunking down that much cash.
Anybody here who has a "review" on this app would be helpful.

    Brie,
Just the 3-minute clip length on the demo. This prevents testing it on full length videos when the original cannot be edited "natively" by Mac OSX. That is, when you have a five minute clip in .wmv format, no editing means the clip can't be snipped to less then 3 minutes for testing with AVC.
The obvious: Flip4Mac can be used for this but that's another $29.95 (or more- it's tier priced based on editing capabilities) on top of the $44.95 for the AVC app.
The other thing which caused me to ask for reviews by users of the paid version is that some formats required downloading additional codecs from the developer of AVC. I know from experience that installing codecs "willy-nilly" can lead to system instability. So it's either pay for the version of Flip4Mac which can edit the wmv type files or take a chance that the additional codec from the developer will let me edit a longer than 3-min. wmv file (with the aforementioned risk).
This is a relatively new developer, and I am not an early adopter. Logically, I thought there might be one of those early adopters out there who could point the way for the rest of us (video editors). The obvious goal: making more video stock available for use in iMovie projects.

  • What is a good video converter for iMac?  Premiere 6 will not capture from the Canon VIXIA HF G20.

What is a good video converter for iMac?  Premiere 6 will not capture from the Canon VIXIA HF G20.

Rather than convert, you'd be better off capturing with a more current version of the program -- one that supports AVCHD video. Otherwise, you're in for a lot of headache. A converter isn't going to solve your problems.
BTW, when you say Premiere 6, do you mean Premiere 6 -- which is over 10 years old? (There was no Premiere Elements 6.)
Trust me on this: Capture with a Mac version of Premiere Elements 11 or 12 and your video will be perfectly compatible with any Mac program.

  • What is the best video converter for high quality MPEG-4 for Apple TV?

What is the best video converter for high quality MPEG-4 for Apple TV?

Handbrake won't convert AVI files, But there are many more than those mentioned that will
The choice of conversion software is a personal choice, I have around a dozen applications that will tackle AVI's, however VisualHub is not one of them, not because there is anything wrong with it but rather I have enough such applications in my arsenal already.
I would use mpegstreamclip in most scenarios for what you are wanting to do but maybe not always. It is a good idea to have a few applications to choose from as not all do the same thing. mpegstreamclip has a few more options than some bog standard applications without becoming overburdening with choices.
You might want to try a few applications yourself before deciding on the software for you. isquint is a free limited version of visualhub, you might want to give that a whirl to get a feeling for visualhub.
Be aware though that quality conversions do not happen quickly, claims of being faster than other applications may well be correct, but are usually a trade off against quality. Again you need to choose your software to reflect your preferred balance between speed and quality.
Here's how I use mpegstreamclip, http://web.me.com/gartside1104/z008/Mpegstreamclip.html but your AVI's may well be low quality, you shouldn't set the bitrate any higher than your source file and likely lower, you shouldn't increase the frame size either.

  • What is the best video converter for iPhone?

My last question was deleted I guess because I was not specific enough. I have a Sony DCR-DVD108 DVD Handycam® Camcorder which writes everything onto mini DVDs. I am looking for a good video converter to convert my home movies with. I am using Roxio Crunch, but it doesn't do as good of a job as I had hoped. What is the best video converter to use?
P.S. Please don't delete my question again Apple.

It was probably deleted because you said that it was in violation of the TOU, which I have read. I own all rights to DVDs which I myself have created, and I give myself permission to copy said DVDs for whatever reasons I wish. I am in no way violating the TOU: "Do not submit software or descriptions of processes that break or otherwise ‘work around’ digital rights management software or hardware. This includes conversations about ‘ripping’ DVDs or working around FairPlay software used on the iTunes Store" because I am in no way trying to "work around" any sort of DRM, and I created the home movies and in no way was the iTunes Store involved; that is unless somehow a movie of my nephew's birthday is now available on iTunes. And I don't own an iPod video, I own an iPhone, which is why the question says "What is the best video converter FOR IPHONE?" and is why I am in an iPhone forum.

  • Converting Video Files For Windows Premiere Elements Editing

A client has given me a couple of dozen videotapes, about half MiniDV and the other half VHS-C. He's also given me a 1TB external hard drive.
He would like the drive returned with a single unedited video file for each tape loaded onto it. He will then edit these tapes in Adobe Premiere Elements on a Windows PC, and ultimately burn DVDs.
I have the necessary equipment to capture the contents of all of these tapes into FCP, but I have two questions.
First, what should I convert these files to? I'm thinking QuickTime movies, or DV, since Premiere Elements can work with either of those, and storage space shouldn't be a problem; all the footage is SD, of course.
Second, I haven't connected the drive he's given me yet; if I need to format this drive for my MacPro to use, will my customer then have problems accessing the video files? Or, is there a proper way for me to format this drive so that the files will be readable when he gets it back?
Thanks for any help anyone can provide.

It's never a good idea to capture on a different NLE than the one which will be used for editing. It can cause all sorts of compatibility problems. There are even issues going between FCP and iMovie -both Mac applications.
I'm thinking QuickTime movies, or DV, since Premiere Elements can work with either of those,
Are you *absolutely sure* about that, given that a PC based NLE typically works with avi files?
As to your disc formatting questions, you can download the [NTFS-3G driver|http://macntfs-3g.blogspot.com> which will let you read, write and even reformat the drive as NTFS on the Mac. All reasonably modern PCs work with this disc format and you won't run into the file size limitations associated with FAT formatted drives.

  • Video Converter for wmv, avi, etc. on Mac Platform

Does anyone know of a good converter for Mac to put wmv and avi videos (and a few other formats) onto an iPod? I've tried the Prism software that is listed in the downloads section of the Apple, but the video quality is spotty and the audio is always out of sync by 10 seconds or so.
"Drag and drop" and "Add File to Library" doesn't work for a file that isn't mp4.
I saw a recommendation for something called WinFF in another forum, but it talks about Windows and Ubuntu, not OS X or Leopard.
    Thanks.

    MPEG Streamclip - it's freeware.
Note, though, that WMV files may require the paid Flip4Mac Player Pro plug-in for QuickTime to allow export to other file types.
