Aperture Profiles videos crash Safari at same spot on video
Click on the following link - http://www.apple.com/aperture/ - and then select any of the photographer profiles at the bottom left. The first two play video for about 1 minute and then crash Safari at the exact same spot every time I play the video. For Heinz Kleutmeier, it crashes as he shows the loupe tool over an UCLA player's face, and for Joe Buissink, the video crashes right as he talks about no perfect picture, only perfect moment. The third video, Richard Burbridge, works fine.
I have deleted history, cleared Safari cache, cleared QuickTime cache, rebooted - nothing fixes this problem so I am guessing it's not on my system but the QT media itself is crapping out or Safari is not handling it correctly. I have submitted a couple of crash reports to Apple regarding the issue. I will try downloading Firefox and try the videos to see if I can rule out a Safari problem.
Can anybody else confirm this?IBod,
I will create another account on my system and give it a shot. Before I got your response, I had in fact completely erased QuickTime off my system (all files, apps, plists, plugins) and reloaded. I am now able to view 2 of the 3 videos all the way through, but the first one (Heinz Kluetmeier) is still failing at the exact same spot. What's funny is that I use Firefox on a Windows XP laptop at work and it crashes at the exact same spot too. Only there, it also gives all kindsa nonsensical errors after it crashes. Anyway, I'll have to chalk this up to a quicktime vendetta against me I guess!
Thanks again for all your help, iBod! -

Hi I own a 655max mobo and a radeon 9700 pro. I play games direct3d OK with agp 8x, but when I play Quake 3 Arena for about 15 to 30 min my video crash. I changed the agp 8x to 4x and everything works fine, but the framerate slow down seriously.
My system:

Ati Radeon 9700 pro
Sound Blaster Audigy 2
Please help !ok i just tried to do that kaigon and the strangest thing happened, my system will not respond or start up with radeon in now... it will however if i leave the supplemental power plug off of the radeon, it starts, then gives me the error telling em to connect it, then when i connect it and hit power...nothing. pop in my old gf2 and fires right up, i dont understand this at all especially because the first time i turned my system on was with the radeon, with supplemental poower plugged in. i tried everything i could think of in the BIOS to straighten this out, but nothing, any more help would be awesome! thanks.

youtube is crashing my browser - both firefox mozilla and safari. Now I cannot load firefox browser at all, but safari still works - except for youtube, which immediately crashes it....any ideas, anyone?
I have had a similar problem with my system. I just recently (within a week of this post) built a brand new desktop. I installed Windows 7 64-bit Home and had a clean install, no problems. Using IE downloaded an anti-virus program, and then, because it was the latest version, downloaded and installed Firefox 4.0. As I began to search the internet for other programs to install after about maybe 10-15 minutes my computer crashes. Blank screen (yet monitor was still receiving a signal from computer) and completely frozen (couldn't even change the caps and num lock on keyboard). I thought I perhaps forgot to reboot after an update so I did a manual reboot and it started up fine.
When ever I got on the internet (still using firefox) it would crash after anywhere between 5-15 minutes. Since I've had good experience with FF in the past I thought it must be either the drivers or a hardware problem. So in-between crashes I updated all the drivers. Still had the same problem. Took the computer to a friend who knows more about computers than I do, made sure all the drivers were updated, same problem. We thought that it might be a hardware problem (bad video card, chipset, overheating issues, etc.), but after my friend played around with my computer for a day he found that when he didn't start FF at all it worked fine, even after watching a movie, or going through a playlist on Youtube.
At the time of this posting I'm going to try to uninstall FF 4.0 and download and install FF 3.6.16 which is currently on my laptop and works like a dream. Hopefully that will do the trick, because I love using FF and would hate to have to switch to another browser. Hopefully Mozilla will work out the kinks with FF 4 so I can continue to use it.
I apologize for the lengthy post. Any feedback would be appreciated, but is not necessary. I will try and post back after I try FF 3.16.6. -
Skype video crashes my GPU driver and causes blue screen.
Hello,
Installed a new copy of windows and got the latest version of skype for my PC (on wich skype worked just fine, video calls, voice calls, but it was an older version. No hardware changes)
With the new skype, I , for the least, get driver crashes, and for the most, a blue screen, when I just go to options to set up my webcam. As soon as I see the square "loading" my webcam in the options, everything freezes and I get a driver crash or a blue screen.
Current specs:
i5 4440, stock clocks
2x8gb 1333 ddr3 1.5v ram, stock
R7 260x, stock
500w PSU, not the best quality, But I also tried a 1000w platinum PSU, and same resaults.
last error code I remeber from the blue screen was: 0x00000116
I know it is related to the GPU, but it doesn't have power deficiency, since I manage to run heavy games just fine.By the way, my webcam works just fine on different web sites, so it's not the webcam.
What I tried:
-Degrading to the oldest supported version by skype
-Degrading video drivers
-Using different webcams
-Installed all windows 7 64 bit updates
edit:
skype 6.14 works, but newer versions crash my GPU drivers and cause blue screenI would suggest uninstalling Droidcam as it could be the source of some delays assisting in causing the problem. TDR problems occur when your videocard is unable to respond in 2 seconds for a variety of reasons (heat, tweaks), forcefully resetting the card. Some people increase this delay in their registry from 2 to up to 10 seconds to give the card time to catch up so that a reset doesn't occur. You can try this MS fix it which increases this delay. https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2665946

Flash video crashes on multiple browsers
Hi all,
My specs:
eMachines notebook
Intel Core i3 CPU 2GB RAM
Windows 7 64 bit
Browsers Installed IE8, Firefox 4 and Chrome
AVG Free Edition installed
Shockwave Flash 10.3.181.4 installed for FF
Graphics Driver Intel HD Graphics Driver version 8.15.10.2119
I'm accessing the internet through wireless internet
I have been having a problem where playing flash video has crashed all the browsers I have installed. This issue has happened on multiple websites including Youtube and BBC iPlayer. It started happening out of the blue on 25th May 2011. There doesn't appear to be any microsoft updates added at that time and I did not install any new software on that day.
In Firefox the issue happens 100% of the time. After watching for a few minutes the video starts to buffer and then the browser completely freezes up before the frame greys out and the option to send crash report appears. When I reload the page the same thing happens again. Sometimes the audio will start to repeat itself with a delay of a few seconds before crashing.
In Chrome, the same thing happens except the built in plug in becomes unresponsive and the browser then freezes and reports the error.
IE crashes too although I hardly ever use it to be honest.
The things I have tried to fix this so far (without success) have been:
Manually uninstall all Adobe products
Uninstall all browsers
Delete folders and reg entries for flash and delete folders for browsers
Reinstall software and flash
Run Malwarebytes (no warnings or bad files).
Run a registry cleaner. Nothing reported that seemed to be relevant to Flash or media playback.
Uninstall Flash
Revert back to Flash 10.2 (I actually noticed a slight improvement when using 10.2 but cannot access embedded video in Facebook etc so wasn't a viable option for me).
Disable AVG and try playback
Unistall AVG and try playback
Uninstall AVG and Windows Firewall and try playback
Check for new video driver updated (there were none)
Untick Enable hardware Acceleration
Allow flash to store content in Global Settings
I have not done a system restore and do not really want to do that if possible.
The only other thing I have noticed is that it has been difficult to install exe files from the web since this issue started (when trying to reinstall browsers etc). Windows was corrupting the installers for chrome and firefox as well as the Malware Bytes.
I have spent almost 12 hours of my life now googling and trying out different conditions to get this working and it really has me flummoxed! I really hope a kind samaritan can help me with some advice here. Thanks KHi, You may want to go to this site: http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/. Right click on the Flash logo, Settings,
then UNcheck the hardware acceleration in Display Settings.
Then make sure that in IE you have the Security Setting for the Internet Zone set to Medium.
Hope that helps,

ITunes video crash with Windows Vista
Does any one know an alternative to playing movies/tv shows purchased through iTunes on Quicktime? Quicktime crashes Vista right now, but is embedded with iTunes. Any was to play the media on something else?
AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 3800+ 2.01 GHz w/ 2Gigs RAM Windows Vista 80 Gig Video iPodI have the nVidia nForce controller mentioned in the knowledge base article in my new laptop...and of course I'm having that issue. HP wasn't able to resolve the issue, but they did say that they had reports of that issue on an Intel based SATA controllers also. I haven't tried external hard drives yet, but CD's, USB keys, etc. (basically anything that isn't an SATA hardrive) all seem to work fine so you may just want to find an external something large enough for your video files and put them there till someone figures out what's happening. It's somewhat annoying as it means one more thing to carry around if your portable like I am, but the iTunes library doesn't care where the file is so long as it knows where to look for it and it could be worse. As an example, I haven't taken my own advise and I'm using a 1GB USB key for 1hr TV show episodes that average 503MB...you do the math on that one.

Flash Video Crash Frequency Becoming Alarming
I know that there is a final push to get FP 9 out the door by
the end of the month. However, I have to say that the frequency
with which my browsers are crashing, predominantly when the content
is Flash Video, is giving me some serious cause for alarm. In a
browser like Firefox, where there is one process for every window
you have open, losing multiple windows worth of work is immensely
frustrating. I have submitted this same issue via the Wish Form
several times as well, so this isn't the first I'm noting this.
Here's my (seemingly standard) setup:
Windows XP Professional with SP2, fully patched
Internet Explorer 6.0.2900.2180.xpsp_sp2_gdr.050301-1519
Firefox 1.5.0.4
Flash Player 9, beta 3 (IE: Version 9,0,0,296, FF: Version
9.0 b296)
Major commercial sites where the browser tends to crash:
CNN.com
ESPN.com
In both cases, it is almost invariably any time one of the
Flash Video ads for Apple's new Mac campaign appears. Further, I've
noted that it gets to the point where the video looks to be done
loading and is about to play back. I went to a second machine that
had FP 8 installed, and the video played fine.
I'm a huge fan of the improvements that FP 9 is offering for
developers, but if I can't achieve stability accessing very common
web sites, I can't ask my customers to upgrade so that they can use
my Flex 2 apps....that just won't fly.
I certainly don't mean to sound alarmist, but I know the
release date is near and so far I'm notThe Apple Ad Played in Quick Time for me and the CNN video
did not crash. Do you have a specific path to a specific video you
can send as an example?
Thanx,

IPhone .mov videos crash windows explorer
I use OneDrive on my iPhone 5s to back up my photos and videos. When I try to view the videos on my Dell XPS Windows 8.1 machine, I run into trouble.
When I use Windows Live Photo Gallery, it crashes whenever I try to view one of the videos. If I open the camera roll folder in windows explorer it crashes when creating the thumbnails. I also tried using the modern UI photo viewer. It crashes as well when
opening the thumbnails. I tried using VLC. It does not play them either. There seems to be quite a few other people experiencing this issue.
I tried uninstalling some updates as mentioned here: https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/7ca111ff-8978-4794-945c-5f36edb91786/videos-imported-from-iphone-4s-crashing-explorer-media-player-quicktime?forum=w8itproappcompat and here:

Nokia Should resolve the c3 video crash problem
Hi friends.
I just bought Nokia C3 on 8th November.
Everything was okey until itried to play video.
I just transfered some video files to my c3's 2gb memory card through Nokia PC Suite.
After playing for 5 second the phone hanged and restarted.
I thought this was just a coincidence but after that every time i played a video it crashed.
I reformated the memory card transfer the correct resolution videos and played again.
And again it crashed.
I took the phone to the Nokia care center.
They told me that any virus may be the cause of the problem, and updating firmware would solve this.
After they gave me the updated phone, i reformated the memory card rechecked for any viruses. Then tried to play a new video.Still same problem.
I have Norton installed in my system.
In the customer care center i met another person whose friend had same problem in c3.
He was planning to buy c3.but dropped the idea.
I am now no where as i dont get any solution of it.
I am feeling very bad to trust on Nokia. At least this is not expected from Nokia the C3 advertisement is on full swing .Nokia should be prompt to solve this problem otherwise valuabe customer will loose faith on the brand.
Please help
Thanks

I was not aware about the V 04.65.
One of your Nokia employee Mentioned it. Searching it on all over the nokia sites irrespective of region yield no result. So i found outside the NOKIA site the mentioned two links prompting for premium membership.
I did not believe the site so didn't download.
If NOKIA people are so serious about the customer complaints.
Instead of warning by michaels NOKIA.
Can't you just pullback all the C3 devices which are giving problem until your firmware is ready?

New Ipod (with video) crashes my Windows PC
I have just bought the new Ipod and have to say I am generally very impressed. However, whenever I connect it to my PC (Dual core AMD64 with 2GB RAM) after about 10 mins of streaming music, video, or data transfer my machine either freezes or reboots itself. This is the first time a usb device has done this to my pc and I use a few. Therefore I strongly doubt that it is something wrong with my pc. Does anyone else experience something similar? Anyone found a way to stop it? Do Apple recognise these sorts of problems if they dont affect Apple macines? For example if it doesnt crash a mac, it must be the PC. If anyone can offer me some answers I would appreciate it
How many other USB devices do you heavily use? If you can copy all that to a USB HD (other than the iPod) for 20 minutes and it doesn't hang then perhaps the iPod/itunes combo has a problem. If its a bug in the firmware as you suggest, then many more people would be having the issue. Also just try copying data to the ipod as if it were a HD and see if it hangs, that mostly removes the iTunes portion of the equation.
New devices can sometimes bring to light driver and other issues that weren't there before. For example: On my iMac G5, I had just connected up a new Firewire Pioneer dvd burner and I was burning coasters left and right and locking things up. It wasn't until I noticed that having the iSight on the same bus caused the crash. Granted, it shouldn't do this period, but it showed that a combination of circumstances caused my issue. -
Ipod video crashes when I attempt to eject after sync (Windows XP)
My ipod video synced perfectly in itunes for first two months. About two weeks ago, however, the ipod started crashing four out of five times when I try to eject it in itunes or stop the disk from Windows' "remove hardware safely" dialog box. It also crashes after syncing automatically when I disable disk use. It syncs all files fine, but when I attempt to eject, it goes directly from "Do not disconnect" to the apple logo, with the backlight flashing on and off periodically. At that point it will not reset, and I have to go into disk mode and restore it to get the ipod to show a menu again. I've restored it now about 10 times, and have reinstalled itunes but am still experiencing the same problem.
Please help!If you're running iTunes 6.0.5, I would need the crash log to figure out why you're crashing.
Typically, you'll need to configure Dr. Watson on your PC in order to generate crash logs. Windows start menu -> Run. Type in "cmd". Hit return. At the prompt in the command line window that comes up, type in
drwtsn32 -i
And hit return.
This will create crash logs in Documents And Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft\Dr Watson\. There'll usually be a file in here called "drwtsn32.log" If there's already a file there, it most likely has multiple crash logs in it (new crash logs are just appended to the end of the file). So, delete this file. This will make sure you're not sending extra information I don't need. These crash logs are text files, so you can open them in notepad or whatever to see what information you're sending.
So, get the machine setup to collect crash logs, do the thing that makes iTunes crash. Send it to me. It doesn't hurt to put the URL to this discussion thread because I get a lot of these messages and are easily confused. -
Itunes video crashes my computer
I recently purchased a video iPod (my photo iPod broke) and updated my iTunes software. Now, every time I try to open the video page in iTunes, it crashes my computer. Either the computer freezes and I have to reboot or it goes blue screen and reboots itself. Per Apple customer service request, I have uninstalled iTunes, turned off my anti-virus software, reinstalled, but had the same problem. I've even gone through the whole msconfig window getting rid of unused startup processes. Nothing seems to work.
Anyone have any ideas?thank you falcon8r!
a good thing we've got the engineers on the case, since:
0x000000F4
i can't recall seeing that error code showing up here before. so we don't have a simple list of things to check through (based on my experience here). MS doesn't have any documentation on specific XP-related causes of the 0x000000F4, but we know from this MS document that you've got a problem related to a system process:
Bug Check 0xF4: CRITICALOBJECTTERMINATION
... so if you're still keen on continuing our investigations, we might be able to get some more info about which process is in pain by checking the event logs. (this might help with giving us a shorter list of possibilities.)
right-click "My Computer", select "Manage" and click "Event Viewer". let's look through the Application and System logs for error/warning events that are regularly coinciding with the 0x000000F4s.
if you find candidate types of event, click on an example of each to bring up a small window. note down the Source, Event ID and Description of the process, and post back with your findings.
