Video De-noise

Does PE4 has a video de-noise effect to clear out of the picture of the working video clips?
I will really appreciate your help.

Yeah i was trying to work out in my head how inefficient or pointless of a atsk it may be. The only thing I came up with was excess space and a possible compression hit. Being I have space to spare and this is only for web video, I figured the potential drawbacks weren't huge.
I also like to know of all options that would possibly get a task done regardless of efficiency, this helps me learn by gauging the why's and why not's

  • Premiere CS6: Neat Video De-noiser effect not exporting?

I seem to have problems with my neat video de-noiser plugin. When I the effect it's showing in the preview window. But when exported its not there anymore. It worked last week. Please help!

To import a sequence into AME with PPRO closed, open an OS file browser and go to the path where your pproj is saved. Drag and drop that file into AME (either onto a preset in the Preset Browser or directly into the Queue). You can also select "Add Premiere Pro Sequence" in the File Menu and then browse to your project. Regardless of which path you go down, AME will bring up dialog that shows you all the sequences within the project.
I expect that importing through one of these workflows will yield the same results as dragging and dropping a sequence from PPRO to AME. All of these methods work directly with the original project file, whereas the normal workflow of exporting from PPRO (File>Export>Media) saves a temporary copy of the sequence at the instance you export.
Note that in our experience, all of these export workflows add the job to AME in a matter of a few seconds, so we did see a need for a progress dialog. Clearly in your case something is significantly bogging down the process. Perhaps project size or complexity, effects & color grading, some I/O bottleneck.... The fact that drag-and-drop is, what, five times faster makes me suspect that an I/O problem (something like a badly fragmented disc where the snapshot of the sequence is being saved) is at least part of the equation, but that doesn't explain why drag-and-drop still takes over a minute.
Can you check RAM and CPU usage before and during export to see if either resource is getting pegged?
Also, what drives do you have your project on and are you encoding to? Are you using a solid state drive? An external drive? Working across a network? Do you have antivirus software running?
Another possible culprit is conforming audio. I'm not sure what the best way is to check if that's happening other than watching your media cache folder to see if new files are being written.

  • ... iPod with video makes noises...

OK... so just recently my iPod with video (30 gig) started to make odd sounds... They sound like mechanical type sounds...
It did this when I first turned it on and started a song... (also when I restarted it)
I haven't dropped my iPod recently or do anything that might have messed up anything inside... D:
Oh... By the way... I got my iPod abott a year ago... During Christmas last year...
I honestly have no idea if its still under any kind of warranty, so I'm not sure what to do about this...
    I need advice or something...
My iPod is my baby and I don't know what to do...
    PC! Windows XP Pro

Umm....I hear that from my iPod all the time, but if I were to listen carefully. It's not loud or noticeable when you're doing things, but if you were real quiet, like at night when I use to to fall asleep to, I can hear the humming and such, much like a TV would when it's on. I really can't tell or don't know if what you're hearing is abnormal or just regular hard drive/screen noises. All hard drives will make some kind of noise (it's the read/write heads moving rapidly over the platters that makes the crackle sounds or whatever).

  • Video has noise after compression

Hi, does anyone know why my videos are showing up wavey after compression is complete?
The following is what's going on:
Video files originally imported to FCPX at 1920x1080p.  I then realized I should have imported them at 720p per what has been suggested for exporting videos for web use.  I figured I could merely change the settings in compression so I selected Export>Send to Compressor option.  I have my video set for 640x360.  Other information I have is for size 1450 bytes, 100 milliseconds duration.  Video frame rate is currently at 29.97 fps and key frame interval is 30.  I've been teaching myself FCPX and digital editing on the job so a lot of this is a foreign language for me.
My video's resolution looks fine before I send it to the Compressor but after the Compressor successfully completes the job, my video wiggles and waves.
    Suggestions?
    Thanks!

By Web use, do you mean uploading to a site like You Tube? If so, there are Web sharing presets in Compressor that work well for sites  like Vimeo and You Tube. Export as a Quick Time movie and then bring that file into Compressor and use the presets.
If not, describe how you're going to use the video.

  • ZEN 8GB video problem: noise in dark ar

Hi, i have converted some movies for my ZEN, but i get blocky noise in darker areas, so i wanted to know what i have to do to avoid this.
I use VirtualDub to encode my movies (mainly because i want to resize them using Lanczos3), but i think the noise is created by the XviD Codec (Single pass @ 768kbps).
Is there some way to get rid of these errors, or at least reduce them?

You were never meant to use that tool, it's mainly used for AVS (unless you know what that is)
I'm not gonna bother going into that as your going to need tuts.
However if you do know what avs is, then you only need the filter called undot.

  • White balance adjustments to video create noise.

Is this true for you too?
If so, have you found a way to deal with it?

  • Video Noise Reduction Plugins (Neat Video, Natress, Etc.)

We are doing some finishing on a short documentary film and some shots (HVX-200 in a dark, poorly lit, blue-starved, turkey barn) need a small amount of noise reduction to maintain the overall look of the film.
We tested a demo of Neat Video's noise reduction plugin and feel the quality is acceptable. But I am curious if there are any other suggested alternatives. The only other plugin than interests me is the Natress Smart Denoise which works as a Color plugin and would be even more appropriate for our workflow.
Are there any other options we should be checking out?
    Thanks!

  • Capturing Video with FX-5900XT - Poor Quality of Image - How to improve the capture quality ?

    Hello all,
I would to know what is the best sofware to use when you want to capture Video ?
I used MS Movie Maker, and WinDvd Creator but I didn't like very much of the result, the video had noise, the color and the image definition was not good, is there any way to improve it ?
I am using the last drivers from Nvidia. I generated videos in AVI format and MPEG 2.
I have old videos from my JVC VHS, my connection between my cam and the video board is a RCA Cable. When I see the video in my VCR is good but the digital result was not good.
Is there any software filter ?
Is there any tutorial or White Paper about capture using Nvidia driver ?
    Thanks all for your help,
    Regards,
    Mario Augusto Rodrigues

    I can't see a relation between a hardcopy and a analogic movie digitalization ?
    Could you explain me ?
In any case the quality of the image is very good in a hardcopy.
Does the Nvidia Capture Drive have some adjust ? Sensibility ? Noise ? Color ? Sharpness ?
    Regards,
    Mario A. Rodrigues

  • I have the Canon T5i and when I shoot videoat night with a good deal of light I get a lot of noise.

I shoot at night with a lot of source light, I get a lot of noise in the video. I have all the settings on automatic. What should I do to get rid of all the video image noise?

    Hi mrmyth!
    Thanks for posting.
When you shoot in lower light, even at night with artificial light sources, the camera may need to use a higher ISO speed.  Higher ISO speeds help with exposure, but they can produce higher noise levels.  Do you know what ISO speed your camera was using?

  • Soundtrack Pro Newbie - Reduce Noise Problem

    Hey Guys,
This will probably sound like a stupid question but why is reduce noise greyed out when I try to select it? I have imported audio, selected portion of noise, set noise print - but when I select the whole file and try to reduce noise it won't let me.
    Please help
    Thanks
    Tim

It sounds to me like you haven't isolated the noise properly. There is video on noise reduction in the Apple Tutorial online. You may find the steps there helpful.

  • Has anyone use the 'NeatVideo' noise reduction plugin?

Today I spend most of my time looking for a noise reduction technique in FCP and came across a couple of plugins.
    Noise reduction from Netvideo
    De Noise from Re-vision effects
Most of the people pick the plugin from Neatvideo because even after redction that grain and noise it re-tains the video quality but having said that it is very hign on the CPU usuage.
So I was wondering if anyone has given the full version a try on FCP?
    -A

Neat Video plug is great. Here's how I used it.
6 camera HDV 1080i 50, 100 min music shoot. Each Cam output was 2 x 50 min clips.
Half way through editing, I decided the HDV looked noisy because of a lot of low light footage, so tried the NV plug and got great results on a couple of clips. So I decided to process all the original Cam output and then substitute the files using FCPs reconnect process(just as I did with my photo-jpeg multi-clip footage) AND de-interlace at the same time.
Create Prores 422 sequence for each original cam clip in one FCP Project - 12 sequences.
Drag a HDV clip into each Sequence.
Drag the Nattress de-interlace plug onto each clip in each sequence and then the Neat Video Reduce Noise lug
Create the Device Noise Profile(which is actually the clip noise profile in my case) and add just a touch of sharpening in the Noise Filter Settings.
Select all the sequences in the browser and batch export them all as a quicktime movies.
Here's the sting in the tail - I then went on location for a month leaving the Mac Intel 8 core 3GHz on an uninterruptible power supply, to process it all.
When I returned it had taken 3 and a half weeks but looked very good. Luckily I'm away often!

  • Noise Reduction for Premiere CC 2014

Before the new release, I have used Neat Video for noise reduction. Unfortunately, this plug-in is not working well with CC 2014. The only native plug-in I saw was to create noise, not reduce it. Does CC 2014 have a noise reduction tool?

The Mercury Engine can use OpenCL in Radeon cards. That being said, the R9 M290X is not in the list of currently supported cards, and therefore the Mercury Engine should default to Software Only.
Adobe won't add the R9 M290X to the list of supported cards until they can fully test it. So hopefully they will add it in a future update (*fingers crossed*).
Until then, you may be better off with a maxed out 27" iMac which has the GeForce GTX 775M, which is supported. It will no doubt perform better, and yes it will be like a hot knife through butter.

  • Premiere Pro CC 2014 with NVIDIA system freezes (Win7x64)

It appears after perhaps the last update Premiere Pro CC 2014 started freezing during editing. It appears to happen mostly with 4K material and using the Ultra key and alpha blending but may also occur with 4K titles. The sequences are 23.976 1080p, with mixed footage from the Sony A7S (50 Mbps XAVC-S/H.264) and GH4 (4K 100 Mbps H.264). There are also frequent crashes with GPUFoundation.dll (Mercury + CUDA). No freezing with software only rendering. I tried a variety of drivers when using a Quadro 5000 with no change in freeze behavior. I tried a new GTX 770 (clean driver install) and the freeze behavior and GPUFoundation.dll crashes are the same, however now even the mouse freezes. With the Quadro 5000, the entire Windows GUI would freeze (become inactive), however the mouse would still move. Thus, it appears there are issues with both NVidia drivers and Premiere Pro CUDA code path on Windows (app errors shouldn't be able to lock up the entire GUI). GPU Meter shows low GPU and GPU memory utilization during the freezes. The freezes typically occur when switching between clips during playback or scrubbing (more often with fast scrubbing). As a developer, it feels like some kind of semaphore lock / race condition, since during the freezes CPU, GPU, and memory utilization are very low. Additional hardware info: 2010 MacPro 12-Core, 24GB RAM running Win7x64 (with latest updates). Side note: PPro used to hang in memory on exit, but stopped after a recent Microsoft forced update (PPro now crashes sometimes on exit but no longer hangs in memory (used to have to kill it after exiting every time)). Has this been reported before? (A7S XAVC & GH4 4K footage is relatively new)

This crash occurred when dragging Black Video with Noise and other effects on top of alpha composited layers (+3 layers). CUDA turned the rendered area black, so I switched to OpenCL. This crash happened a few minutes later. While this would appear to be an Nvidia driver error (OpenCL), perhaps the developers can investigate. The system is very stable except when doing complex operations in PPro (and only PPro crashes). A tried and true Quadro 5000 crashed in the same way (totally different hardware and drivers).
The full debug info wouldn't post, edited shorter:

  • Mac after effects update crash

Just updated AE CC to 2014.1.1 for my Mac OS 10.9.5
And now, the computer is crashing every time I render a file.
The only plugins I have are Neat Video "Reduce Noise".
I will be trying the same footage on CS6 and then again on another computer.
I'm sure I'm not giving enough information, but any help is dearly appreciated.
    Thanks.
    Other issues at the moment:
Very slow load time of software (Premiere and After Effects)
Link Media not working at all

Are you using Neat Video plugin in your project?
    What are your render settings?
    What are your system specs?
Etc. :FAQ: What information should I provide?

  • Assigning instruments to specific keys on a USB keyboard

Is there a way to assign certain instruments to specific keys on a USB keyboard?
I use an M-Audio Keystation 49e USB keyboard. It works fine, but I have no experience with MIDI and don't know what the "advanced functions" button on the keyboard allows me to do, although I'm sure with some pointers I can figure it out.
(Some weeks back xs4ls recommended the JamPack 3 with the Studio Toolkit. Thanks for that recommendation. The stuff really improves upon the stock drumkit software instruments. But in the Studio Toolkit, certain instruments I might like to use together are often located more octaves apart than I can play at one time. The regular kits are generally organized on the keyboard such that I can play them "live" just like I do my actual drumset. This is how I prefer to lay down my drum parts. I'm also interested in assigning drum sounds from a various software kits to save as my own custom kit, if possible.)

GB3 has a "programmable keyboard" feature that isn't as slick as the stock instruments, but it's better than nothing! (one of the good features of GB3)
I found a bunch of old Qbert (the video game) noises on line, and created my own instrument with those. Pretty sweet.
