Video Display Module ?

I bought a Samsung Series 7 Laptop specifically to run video editing software. However when I downloaded the trial version of Adobe Premiere CS6 it says that " could not find any capable video display modules" I tried finding the answer on what to do on past forums but unfortunately am not very computer proficient...any help?

The Message from Adobe Premiere:
Adobe Premiere Pro could not find any capable video play modules. Please update your video display drivers and start again.

You have to get a new driver version, if the message is correct. Either from AMD or Samsung, but my guess is from Samsung, because they have a tendency to modify the standard drivers to meet their requirements. However, they also have a tendency to bring those out with huge delays and very irregularly.
Whether it is worth the effort is very doubtful. That Samsung is around 50 times slower than a fast desktop. So if you export a timeline on a fast machine and it takes around 2 hours for the export, it will take around 100 hours on this laptop. It lacks a second 7200 RPM SATA disk, that is absolutely necessary and it lacks ports to correct that deficiency.
I always wonder why people want to use a laptop for video editing, when you have to connect them to a wall outlet for ridiculously long times, defeating the portability argument.

  • Adobe Premiere Pro could not find any capable video play modules. Please update your video display drivers and start again.

I have administrator rights to the computer. The drivers are up to date. But I am still getting the error message "Adobe Premiere Pro could not find any capable video play modules. Please update your video display drivers and start again"  when opening Premier Pro CS5.5. This appears to have happed after I upgraded to Mac OS 10.10.2.
    Anyone?
    Thanks

    Hi Stan.
I had the same problem as you did though I am using Adobe CC.  I saw nobody replied to you so perhaps my eventual success on my later version may have applications to the error on your version.
Anyhow, I did all the suggestions found here (Error "Premiere Pro could not find any capable video play modules" | Startup )  first and updated my NVidea card to no avail.  Eventually what did the trick was this...
After mucking about with the video card, I said "OK lets just have a go at Premiere itself." So I uninstalled Premiere CC and reinstalled it.  Now for some reason it didn't give me the latest patch but a slightly earlier version than the current one but lo and behold it was fine with the video card again.  I was able to get my friend's video imported and quickly edited but then was having some issues with exporting where it would hang up but I went into Adobe Media Encoder and exported it there without a care.  That task out of the way, I then went and made the update to the latest patch and it works perfectly fine - no video driver issues.
So short of it is this - if you've updated your drivers, perhaps what you could try uninstalling and reinstalling Premiere.
Let me know if this works.
    Cheers and good luck

  • "Adobe Premier Pro could not find any capable video play modules. Please update your video display drivers." What does this mean? Need help urgently!

Premier Pro CC will not open, even though all my computer software is updated. It comes up with the message every time I try and open it. "Adobe Premier Pro could not find any capable video play modules. Please update your video display drivers and start again." What does this mean? I have been searching the internet for an answer for hours. Urgent help needed.

Error "Premiere Pro could not find any capable video play modules" | Startup

  • Could not find any capable video play modules upon startup.

After installing Premier Pro CC, I received this error message (also pictured below): "ADOBE PREMIER PRO STARTUP ERROR. Adobe Premier Pro could not find any capable video play modules. Please update your video display drivers and start again."
And here is an Adobe help page that offers four solutions to this issues, Error "Premiere Pro could not find any capable video play modules" | Startup. But I'll be honest, I feel like I need my hand held through solutions 2-4. I know nothing about video adapter drives, AMD Radeon cards or BIOS setup.
Could someone here expand upon these solutions for me? It would be much appreciated.
FWIW, I'm on a MacBook Pro, OS X 10.9.4, 2.6 GHz Intel Core i5 processor, 8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3 memory, and Intel Iris graphics.
    Thanks
    Harry

So according to Apple, Premiere Pro simply cannot run on my laptop. It does not have and never will have a "Adobe-certified GPU card for GPU-accelerated performance".
    Adobe, is this true?

  • Updated to Premiere CC 2014 - Now getting Startup Error - Could not find any capable video play modules

I have a late 2013 MacBook Pro Retina with NVIDIA GeForce GT 750M 2048 MB.
Ever since the Premiere CC 2014 update, on launch, I get this error right after it shows "ExporterQuickTimeHost.bundle" loading (I tried removing this, but it still did it, so I don't think it has anything to do with the QuickTime plugin):
    Adobe Premiere Pro Startup  Error
Adobe Premiere Pro could not find any capable video play modules. Please update your video display drivers and start again.
I never got this in the CC version. I have the latest CUDA driver: version 6.0.46  &  GPU Driver: version 8.26.21 310.40.35f08
The computer is unusable for about 4-5 mins after this happens until it all clears up. This whole process takes up 7-8 mins!
This same thing also happens with Prelude CC 2014.
If anyone knows what's going on I would be very grateful.
    Thanks, Maz

I found a solution that worked for me. Seems to be a permissions problem. Here's the solution I found (found it here: CC 2014 startup issues : Adobe Premiere Pro):
In the finder menu click and hold on the GO menu. Hold the option button and the User library will show up. Click the User Library.
In that folder go to preferences and find the adobe folder.
Right click on adobe folder and click get info.
In the Sharing & Permissions section there should be three names.
All should say Read & Write next to them.
Unlock the lock, switch them all to read and write.
Then click on the little gear directly under the names or to to the left of the lock and in the pulldown click on "apply to enclosed items.
    Then lock the lock again.
Now go to your OS Hardrive and click on Users, your user name, Documents.
    Find the adobe folder there.
    The lock the lock again.
Wait 1 minute. Then launch Premiere.
    This fixed it for me.

  • Mplayer Video Output module?

    Hi.
I've been using Mplayer (via SMplayer) to play videos for a year and it works perfectly.
Since I got a laptop with a GeForce Go 7300 I always installed the latest proprietary NVIDIA drivers, so I thought that gl2 was the best video output module for me.
Today I was searching the Mplayer docs for encoding options and I found this:
    http://www.mplayerhq.hu/DOCS/HTML/en/opengl.html
Player supports displaying movies using OpenGL, but if your platform/driver supports xv as should be the case on a PC with Linux, use xv instead, OpenGL performance is considerably worse. If you have an X11 implementation without xv support, OpenGL is a viable alternative.
So it seems that XV is the best option?
Do you know anything about this? What's the best?

xv is indeed the best -vo. Only use gl if you are having problems with xv, eg if you are running xcompmgr.

    Hello tanay2904,
Welcome to the HP Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience! To help you get the most out of the HP Forums I would like to direct your attention to the HP Forums Guide First Time Here? Learn How to Post and More. I understand that your computer is producing error messages in regards to the video graphics modules, and I would be happy to assist you! To begin, I will need to ask you a few questions:
What version of Windows do you have installed on your computer?
Has your computer completed all of its important Windows Updates?
Have you updated your HP drivers using the HP Support Assistant?
Is this an on-going, or recent issue?
Which games are you attempting to play on your computer?
What specific version of Adobe Premiere Pro are you running on your computer?
In the meantime, I recommend downloading the latest drivers for Adobe Flashplayer and Java. These will help with the compatibility between your software and the graphics hardware on your computer. In addition, if you are using Windows 7, you can download and install the Intel High-Definition (HD) Graphics Driver as well as the AMD High-Definition Graphics Driver. These drivers should help with the performance of your programs.

  • Premiere Pro CC stalls at - ImporterQuickTime.prm - "Unable to find any capable video play modules"

Premiere Pro CC stalls at 'ImporterQuickTime.prm', then it crashes with an error message "Premiere Pro could not find any capable video play modules. Please update your video display drivers and start again." I've tried the solutions on the support page and several I found on the internet. I tried completely uninstalling Quicktime as well and reloaded it. It still crashes. I have my original CS6 on my computer as well and it doesn't crash. Any great ideas?
    Thanks
    Robert

    Hello John,
I mentioned at the start of this string that when opening   the program it would always stall at ImporterQuicktime.prm, as though it were searching for the plug-in, and then It crashes and displays the error message " Premiere Pro could not find any capable video play modules. Please update your video display drivers and start again."
    I followed a hunch and located ImporterQuickTime.prm.
    C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Premiere Pro CC\Plug-ins\Common\ImporterQuickTime.prm
I found that if I right click ImporterQuickTime.prm and use the open command it will open Premiere Pro CC. However, since I jumped straight to this plug-in it seems that not all of the other plug-ins had loaded.  I was still able to open a project file and run it.
Somehow this corrected the original problem. After closing out Premiere Pro CC, I restarted it normally from the desktop and voila!,  it opened without a hitch.
I'm clueless as to why this worked, but it did. Hopefully this will be a useful solution for others.
I still have to take Premiere Pro out for a test spin to be sure there aren't any other bugs, but that will be tomorrow.
    Thanks again for your help.
    Robert

  • Mac OSX, Startup Error with CC 2014 (CC works): Couldn't find any capable video play modules

I'm getting this on two different machines running different OSX versions with different graphics cards:
    Adobe Premiere Pro Startup Error
Adobe Premiere Pro could not find any capable video play modules. Please update your video display drivers and start again.
    My computers are:
    iMAC / OS X 10.9.5 / AMD Radeon HD 6970M 2048 MB
    MacBook Pro / OS X 10.10 / AMD Radeon HD 6750M 1024MB
Was in a chat with an Adobe tech person and they even remotely got on my computer and changed permissions on two Adobe folders and sub folders and it still didn't work. Adobe Premiere CC seems to work. But clients are all using CC 2004.

    Hi ufoclub,
    Try this:
    Go to the following locations:
Location 1: When in Finder, click on Go > Go to Folder > ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe
    Location 2: Go > Go to Folder > ~/Library/Preferences/Adobe
    Location 3: Documents > Adobe
In all the locations, rename the 'Adobe' folders to 'OldAdobe'
Launch Premiere, accept the License Agreement and see if it works.
Note: You will lose your customized workspaces and keyboard shortcuts.
    Thanks,
    Rameez

  • Error during start up of Premiere Pro CS6.  "... could not find any capable video play modules..."

During start up of Adobe Premiere Pro CS6, I get the following error message.  "Adobe Premiere Pro could not find any capable video play modules.  Please update your video display drivers and start again."  This does not occur on After Effects, and the program runs successfully.  Premiere Pro will not open, and in the start up window the last thing the status line states before the error message occurs is: "Loading ImporterQuikTime.prm"
I have added an NVidia GPU card to my system and have installed the latest video drivers from the NVidida website (GeForce 310.70).  This did not help.  I have QuikTime on my computer, but am not sure if it needs to be in a certain file location.
I have also gone in to BIOS after installing the GPU and disabled internal graphics, but that did not help either.  Not sure what to do next.  Any suggestions?
    Thank you,
    Rhoadman

Thank you everyone for the replies.  Although I don't have a laptop, the following seems to work.
    Solution 1
On Windows 7, right-click the shortcut to Adobe Premiere Pro, and choose Run as Administrator.
Using this method, Premiere Pro opened successfully.  Using the shortcut directly, the error persists.  It looks like we will just have to open the program using this method.
    Many thanks for the replies.
