Facebook, youtube, and some other sites doesn't work on Mountain Lion
Since I installed Mountain Lion (today) i can't acess facebook, youtube videos and some other sites. I thought the problem was the flash player so i've tryed uninstall and reinstall, desable and enable, and read some tips that didn't work until now. Hope you can help me =)
Found the answer myself, its a commun problem in Mountain Lion. Some guy found the way to make flash work well. Maybe some of you just need to install the latest version. But the truth is there is a bug and this is how to fix it:
System Preferenes > Network > Wi-Fi or Ethernet (whatever you're using) > Advanced > Hardware > Set 'Configure = Manually' > Change 'MTU = Custom' = 1380 -
Xine codecs installed. no video on youtube or any other site.
Using suse linux 13.1. Installed xine codecs. Firefox is aware of this according to the "tools -> manage content plugins" list, and "edit -> preferences -> applications" list. I am at a complete loss as what to do. I really need to get this sorted otherwise I am going to have return to windows which is not something that I want.
Flash Player is usually required to play videos on most sites, including YouTube. It looks like you already have the latest version installed (it's listed as "Shockwave Flash" in the Add-ons Manager, Plugins category). What happens exactly? Do you get an error message?
* [[Flash Plugin - Keep it up to date and troubleshoot problems]]
Alternatively, if you have the right packages installed, you should be able to play videos in HTML5 format. According to bug 972638,
The backend right now depends on the following gstreamer modules: gstreamer, gst-plugins-base, gst-plugins-good, gst-plugins-bad and either gst-libav or some 3rd party h264 decoder (I believe Fluendo has one, but there are also others).
If you meet the requirements, then to play videos on YouTube in HTML5 format, you can
# Disable the Flash Player plug-in by setting Shockwave Flash to "Never Activate".
# Install the following add-on.
# Some insist that [https://www.youtube.com/html5 joining the HTML5 trial] also works, but it's never worked for me and others.
To play videos on other sites in HTML5 format, you can
# Install Greasemonkey.
# Install the ViewTube user script.
Note that not all sites have videos in HTML5 format, and those that do tend to serve only Flash videos to desktop browsers (which is why the above user script is necessary). -
I unlocke my Iphone 3G with AT&T, followed the process restoring with a new SIM, but when I put a difffrenet SIM, it doesn't recognize SIM, just says No SIM, even restoring. Any help will be appreciatte it.
Before going to the unlock by itunes, I restore it from factory. There was not any problems, I received the message of congratulations, your phone is unlocked, but when I try with a different sim, it just say "no sim". My baseband is not comun, is 5.15.04 it is the original, I did not modify it. I do not if there is a limit of unlocking actions, of there is a conflict in my baseband. My baseband can not be modified with jailbreaks for unlockings.
Thanks for your fast answer Larry. -

Videos won't play. Not YouTube or any other videos (just started today). I also have no sound, keypad clicks, shutoff click, etc. Are these common failures for a three year old Gen 2 iPad?
For the issue with the videos that will no longer work, try closing all apps and then reboot the iPad.
Tap the home button once. Then tap the home button twice and the recents tray will appear at the bottom of the screen. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Tap the home button twice.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.
For the issue with sounds, you have system sounds muted.
Check the side switch above the volume rocker on the side of the iPad. Flip it the other way and see if you get sound from the apps, keyboard clicks, etc.
If not, double tap the home button to bring up the task bar at the bottom. In the task bar swipe all the way to the right. Look on the far left side and see if there is a speaker icon. If there is, tap it and see if the sounds on apps come back. Then tap the home button.
You can change how the side switch works to either lock screen rotation or to mute system sounds. You can go to Settings>General>Set Side switch to Lock Rotation or mute. If you choose mute, the switch will turn off apps sounds. Otherwise you use the task bar as described above to mute those sounds.
This support article from Apple explains how the side switch works.

Cannot load TigerDirect and many other sites under Ubuntu. Whats that about?
Under Ubuntu, cannot load this and many other sites. Even Amazon, which initially loads, chokes at checkout time when ssl pages are accessed.
After connecting to wifi, iPad checks to see if connectivity to internet is possible, and/or if further login is required. To do that - it checks connectivity to www.apple.com . If not - it assums wifi is no good to you, and switches back to 3G.
There is a valid reasoning behind it, but indeed, it sounds like there are scenarious in which there should be option to disable this... -
I cannot Play Youtube or any other Videos in the Browser. It says Update FLASH Player though I have updated the Flash Player to latest version. The Videos work fine in IE/Safari/Google Chrome

Ipad video doesn't work properly.
I seem to be having a number of issues with the iPad Video App.
1. To be able to access the home sharing in the app I have to have at least 1 video on the iPad, other wise the share tab will not show. This is lame as I don't want waste space on my iPad with a video.
2. The home share list of both movies and TV shows ends up corrupt in that it tags multiple series with the same incorrect thumbnail, and will only label each with a sometimes incorrect "Season *" label. Add to that, some don't even get labels and will not show the content of the series.
3. Upon the actually getting a video going, 9 times out of ten I won't be able to stop it. Not without letting it play til the end of the video, or power cycling the iPad.
Has anyone else been experiencing anything like these issues when using the video app? This is running it against the latest version of iTunes running on a windows based media server.
All in all the Video App feel like a beta release of a program that might one day be sort of useful, instead of the polish Apple App.
Any hints on how to get it working better would be appreciated.
PS. my Apple TV has no issues what so ever accessing the same media library, so intend to think the issues is with the Video App and not the media server. All the files on my Home sharing are iTunes purchased media...
I will try it on my iPhone 4S tonight to see if it does the same..
One of the reasons I got the iPad was to view my purchases when I am in my workshop or study, having this unstable is a really downer.. -
I have intermittent problems with a Web site not loading properly (rather than a gray background with pictures and clickable captions linking to news stories, a page consisting only of text and hyperlinks loads). The page loads normally in Internet Explorer. The problem with Firefox seems to be limited to this one site. I've previously reported it by clicking Help | Report broken Web sites. Thanks for any suggestions
I had this problem. I fixed it by right clicking on the website page and found I had inadvertently ticked "block images from this website". Uncheck this and it's fine!
