Video doesn't play in preview

I'm trying to burn a video onto dvd and when i go to preview it everything works except the video. When i choose the chapter I just get a white or black screen. Apple says i need to open the other view and fix any errors but in that screen it doesn't say there are any errors. Help!

May have something to do with whether or not the URL can be reached while building your widget. I've got a video on the web. When I enter the URL into the field for the video object and click to another field, the URL is replaced with some text indicating that it is accessing the video then updates itself to displaying just the name of the video file.
It shows just fine in preview and I can see the full path to the video when I export the widget so it should work for you.
Is the video accessible from your Mac while you're laying out your widget?

Video doesn't play while audio does during playback

I use FCE 1.0.1 and since I upgraded to Leopard I have had a little problem. When I put the video setting in Fire-Wire, it plays fine with audio playing through my camcorder. But when I put the video setting in Real Time to play the audio through my speakers, the video doesn't play while the audio is playing fine. After 5 or 6 seconds, the audio stops playing too.
My G5 is a single 1.8 GHz processor and I am running 10.5.1
Anything?

I appreciate your insight with this. If I could ask one more set of questions; Would you recommend the "upgrade" linked below or the Full version? And what will be the practical differences for me the user?
I have started a new project in version 1.0.1 (capturing and a few edits, etc) since upgrading to Leopard. Will all of my work be there with either upgrade or full version after install?

Video doesn't play on internet

Hey Good People,
I have been scratching my head trying to figure out why this Flash video doesn't play. I checked to make sure it is in the correct format. I've tried FLV and H.264 neither of which plays. The custom play button appears and the alpha goes to 0 when clicked but the video doesn't play. It works in the flash environment and on my desktop when I dropped it into an html shell. Can anyone tell me what I need to do to make this work?

Obviously, you hardcoded video path to your local machine. Change that.

Youtube videos doesn't play until fully loaded

Youtube videos doesn't play until they are fully loaded. It doesn't work for ANY streamed video, not just Youtube. It happens on both Firefox and IE. I tried to uninstall Flash and re-install it, but it didn't help. The only thing that solves it is restarting the computer, but it just returns after some time.
How can I fix it?

The video card affects playback:Although Flash Player can display high-quality video and images by itself, hardware-accelerated scaling uses the video or graphics card on your computer to display images and video more clearly and quickly than Flash Player can on its own.
Not everyone can use it and that's why turning it off helps. Since you have it turned off, then this no longer affects you.
They may be some add on in the browser that is causing this. Kaspersky had been using a URL Advisor that is an "extension"
but whether you have it I don't know. In IE, in the manage add ons, look for "Show"(very light text) and look in all 4 categories for it.
In FF, it may be in the extensions. I'd look in all, addons, plugins & extenstions.
If you find it, disable it. If you don't find it, then all I could suggest is to disable all IE add ons except Shockwave Flash Object and Java and see it there is an improvement. Then do the same with FF.

Youtube video doesn't play on captivate project online

Hi there, I need help, I have 4 equal projects made on Captivate 8 for mac, the difference between them is the video from youtube they should play. When from my computer I run the links online the videos play OK, but from different computers one of the videos doesn't play, I already checked and changed the links for the youtube widget, but still no result. Embedded Video in PDF doesn't play in preview or google drive.

I'm working on an interactive PDF in InDesign with an embedded mp4 video. When I export the pdf the video only plays in adobe reader but not in preview. I also uploaded it to google drive to send to people but the video won't play on google drive either. Is this an issue with the way I'm embedding/exporting the interactive PDF or is this a compatibility issue with preview and google drive?
If the file is downloaded by someone who doesn't have adobe reader, how can I make sure the file will open in adobe reader for them?

Video does not play in preview window.

I have recently upgraded to CS4 from CS3.
In any part of CS4 that uses video; Encore, Premeire and After Effects, video will not play in the preview window from a timeline when the play button is pressed. The playhead doesn't move, but the Play button toggles from Pause to Play when pressed. However, when I scrub the video, I can see it in the window. Video played fine in CS3.
My graphics card is a PNY nVidia Quadro FX 570 with the 178.26 driver. My computer is a Dell Precision 670.
I recently completed a project where I had to trim about 48 QuickTime video files created in Premiere 2.0, compressed with Sorensen 3.
The files were then added to Encore, and a DVD was created. The DVD worked fine. At no time could I preview video, unless I opened the edited video in QuickTime.
This has also happened with still and AVIs.
At no time do any of the CS4 programs freeze or crash the system.
Has anyone had this happen to them. Is it a graphics card issue.... I can't seem to find any info on a similar problem.

Try turning off (or lowering) Hardware Acceleration for your graphics card.
At the Windows Desktop, Right Click and select "Properties". Under the "Settings" Tab, select "Advanced". Select the "Troubleshoot" Tab and reduce the Hardware Acceleration. You will need to restart you computer to see if it worked. First, try it with no Acceleration. If it works, try increasing the Hardwar Accelearation one notch at a time - rebooting your computer each time. \

Video doesn't play in Android 4.2.2, but it plays in Android 4.1.2 (Captivate 8)

I have a slide with an event video (mp4). I publish to HTML5.
The video plays as expected in Android 4.1.2's built in browser, but it doesn't play in Android 4.2.2's built in browser.
I have tried with and without autoplay. I've also tried starting the video with a button.
Any suggestions would be highly appreciated.

Video doesn't play with .MOV files, only hear sound

I have Elements 9 and I just imported my photos and videos from my new camera - Panasonic Lumix DMC FH27 10 Zoom 16 megapix and when I played them in Elements 9 all I could hear is the sound, all conversation, but the video won't play, just a black screen. The file they trasfered with is MOV . I have Quickplayer installed on my computer already, the lastest version, I just updated. Any suggestions? Thank you so much.

i've seen some threads that are discussing the same issue but not the same exact problem. the video doesn't show on my ipod, although the sound works. on itunes, both work fine. i've already set tv out to off so it should be working as the support help has suggested. i know that images work fine since i can see photos on my ipod. it's just the video that isn't working.

Video doesn't play in Audition

Hello.
I have a video file, small four minute clip, without audio which I imported to Audition. Then, I created a multitrack session and added the clip to it to serve as a video reference. Through the clip is added, video does not play on the video tab neither the "frame stills" appear on the timeline, just the film icon. What can I do to make it function properly?
The file is in .avi format. I converted it to .wmv, no luck there. I used an other video file, nothing. I've even updated my graphics card.
Please post if you have a clue on how to solve this.

Videos doesn't play in Front Row photos slideshows...

Well that's a really annoying problem that I was hoping it would be fixed in Snow Leopard, but IT DIDN'T!
When you are in iphoto and select an album ( which contains photos & videos) for slideshow..everything is fine!
In contrast to this, when you select the same album in front row for slideshow, the videos don't play and instead of this you get a black screen.
I have tried this to many machines in Applestores and all behave exactly the same

I just bought a new Mac Mini to set up as my HTPC (if it passes the wife test..!). I settled on Front Row over Plex for now, since the latter still feels half baked/overly ambitious. When I came to setting up the Photo part, I got the exact same problem you are describing. Nothing but blackness, where video clips should play, and for what seems to be the duration of the actual clip. iPhoto plays them beautifully. What gives?
I have seen other threads where this question got archived without a fix or even a response.
Someone seemed to have fixed it by removing QT7 Pro properly since there was some conflict with QTX. I have a mint Mini, so shouldn't be my issue.
Maybe it has to do with some obscure CODEC missing in QT - I have Perian and Flip4Mac installed but will try further using this link:

Just started CS5.5 but video does not play in preview

I just got a brand new (to me) Panasonic AC130P Camera for my work / office and recorded some simple test shots.
All of the videos were shot in MTS format / AVCHD 1920 x 1080 (1.0).
When I put them in my bin then click on it, the small preview box on the top does not move and only audio comes through. When I click and drag it to the preview box, it only plays audio. I have messed around with the output icon to see if I can get something but all I can get are the waveforms etc to work, not the actual video I shot.
I'm maybe considred old scool (Worked with a lot of DV, SVHS, etc but never digital HD, this is my first time) so a lot of the HD settings are really new to me. Am I missing something here?
I have a feeling that it has to do with the video / graphics card but has anyone else experienced this before? Any advice would be helpful. Thank you!

I don't have issues with the sequence rather, I have an issue of the video showing up at all in Premiere. I don't see it in the preview or sequence monitors however I hear audio and the other output devices can read the RGB frequencies.an
I've used CS3 in the past and never had an issue like this. The footage that I took can be previewed through Windows Media Player and other devices but it seems like Premiere doesn't want to play it back for me, visually.
So visually you can see this:
As you can see my sequence cursor is placed right in the middle of the sequence with no video playing and also, the preview box for the clips in the bin also has the cursor in the middle which should also allow some sort of video to be shown. Instead, I have these bleek boxes of gray.
If anyone has experienced this, please let me know. Thank you!
