  • YouTube Video: Do you recommend use maximum render quality?

YouTube Video: Do you recommend use maximum render quality?
    Is it worth the wait?
Do you use it for YouTube videos?
How much longer does it take to render / export?
    Twice as long or ?
Just looking for a general comparison in time based on with and without.
I know it depends on variables.
I'm already in the process at 21%. (15 mins.)
    Just curious for the future.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
You can use the "Maximum Render Quality" whenever you are scaling down the resolution from larger frame size to smaller frame size while exporting.
It requires more RAM during export & should be used whenever maximum quality output is required. However the export process may be slower than the normal export.
    Thanks.

  • There is no option to switch from Video FaceTime to audio FaceTime??

    Hi,
I am able to switch from Audio FaceTime to Video Facetime during the call but vice-versa option is not there. How can I switch from video Facetime to Audio during a call??
    Please let me know.
If this option is not available I seriously suggest you to add this.
    Thanks

When I had the basic Quicktime there was a option to video record if Quicktime PRO was purchased, now that I have it, I can not find it.
That function is only part of the Mac OS X version of QuickTime. Record the video from another application.

  • Help me shop for a video camera?  Recommendations?

    Hello Friends,
I have been lurking in the forum and decided to ask for help. Thank you in advance for your thoughts, opinions.
My (old) current video camera is a Panasonic AG-EZ20 (1998?) which uses mini-dv tapes and firewire (1.1 megapixel). My old laptop died and I had to buy a new one with Windows Vista. Now I HAVE to upgrade to PPro (I was happy with Premiere.old).
My new Toshiba laptop has AMD64x2 chip (2.2 ghz) with 3 gb ram, 250gb hard drive has 125gb free, and I have an external 250gb storage drive. Is it sufficient?
My video projects are not professional. However, striving for quality at the prosumer level is a fun hobby worth spending time and money on. I will be shooting events, vacations, you-tube stuff about car repair hobby, NOT cinema epic or high definition type stuff.
I like the idea of a 3-ccd camera. Is there something about capture via firewire using mini-dv tape that is bad or troublesome compared to the new hard drive cameras and 3-CCD quality?
I have been looking at video cameras on Ebay and B&H photo. The AG-DVX100B seems like champagne compared to my old camera. Another thought was a PV-GS350 or PV-GS500 camera which would probably be an improvement that is reasonable priced. If you are happy with your camera, PPro software and computer please tell me about your kit? Is there a web site you found useful in your search for pre-sale information? I was hoping to spend less than $1,000 on the camera, but I would spend more if the ease of capture/edit and quality of output helped me justify it.
I look forward to reading your responses!

Although E-bay can be attractive, I agree with Harm on this (not so much on HDV though). I also agree with his recommendation RE; B&H. I purchased my VX2000 and XH-A1 from them and most of the accessories as well as still cameras. Are you aware that B&H sells used equipment? This could be an option if $$$ is issue.
To emphasize on the others--by all means mini-DV transport. Yeah, its inconvenient to lug around a few extra mini-Dv tapes--they take up so much room in a jacket pocket. So, save the inconvenience of tapes and get a cam with HDD--then you can either stop shooting when the disk is full or drag around a laptop to take an hour from shooting to download so you can continue shooting--much more convenient!! (wink wink).

  • Any Video Control Surface Recommendations?

    Hi Guys,
It's been some time since i've posted here i must admit, but i had a quick question and i'd appreciate some opinions!
I have been editing videos for individual and corporate clients for a while now, and have been utilising logic etc to record some of my own soundtracks - but i now feel that a video/audio control surface would help streamline my workflow (an expensive luxury though!)--- and i wondered if you had any recommendations / advice?
Note: I haven't had the need to really look into the hardware control surfaces, and googling has brought me to the Mackie MCU Pro, Tascam FW-1082 and an Alesis one... but they are a little out of my minds price-range (though not the pocket if reaallly persuaded)
    Many thanks,
    Adam

Shane, thanks for your quick reply! I didn't say they were too expensive... just that in my limited/low knowledge of the things they seemed like an expensive luxury for me - not that they were / were not... i am aware quality costs money (it is why we buy what we buy apple as opposed to pc's etc).
Have you had any experience with the Mackie? it seems like one would just be paying for the name- though undoubtedly it is probably a fantastic piece of kit, the Tascam does seem an equal competitor. Are there any others that you can reccomend/know of? i am struggling with net research- it mainly points me to those two..and a selection of home-user plastic jog wheels etc.
    Many thanks,
    Adam

  • Video conversion software recommendations. MOV to MPG, WMV

Can someone please recommend an inexpensive video conversion software package? I'm trying to convert a QTMOV to MPG or WMV for Windows users without QT installed. Any help appreciated. I'm a recent Windows convert.

Hello and Welcome to Apple Discussions.
Quicktime Pro ($30us) is an excellent value video tool which can handle editing, layers, transparency etc etc. It can export to a variety of formats (although not WMV for obvious reasons). I'd be tempted to wait a couple of months though as QT8 will probably be around soon and will require a new key to be bought.
Also check out these applications on MacUpdate.

  • Video screen capture recommendation

Can anyone recommend a versatile, yet simple, third-party software that will capture video and audio simultaneously from an iMac? I was using Ambrosia's Snap Pro X and WireTap Studio, but after upgrading to Yosemite, the applications simply no longer function as they once did. I record a variety of lectures and other presentations from my computer, so I need something that will accommodate a range of tasks. I realize QuickTime will record a/v, but it just isn't versatile enough. Thanks.

I've had pretty good luck with ScreenFlick. It allows for setting FPS capture rates, isolating ares of the screen to capture, audio input selection, etc. I believe it's also free.

  • Digital Video Cameras? Recommendations PLEASE!!!

    Hi,
    I recently purchased a MacBook (2.0GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 1GB memory, 80GB hard drive, Double-layer SuperDrive).
I would like to buy a digital video camera for filming on holidays etc...
What type of digital video camera (DVD, HD or miniDV) should I buy to have the least trouble importing and editing my footage in iMovie????
I heard there's a problem with importing/editing from DVD & HD based cameras as well as they don't come with firewire connection.
    Can you help me? Thanks...

  • Any difference to watch online video & FaceTime between Wifi & LTE?

Hi, I'm planning to buy an iPad for my mother soon, she don't have interent at home, I'm thinking that should I:
    1) Buy an iPad Wifi+Cellular and let her to use the SIM card to connect internet; or
    2) Buy an iPad Wifi and apply the broadband service for her
    - May I ask is there any diffenent to watch online video on iPad between wifi connection and cellular connection? Is it able to watch HD quality online video if using SIM card connected to internet? (Because I remember that the video quality is much poor if I use SIM card to connect internet long long time ago)
    - May I also ask if I can use FaceTime with SIM card connection as well?
    Thank you for your help.

Thank you for your help! Sorry my message may misleaded...
I'm planning to use Rogers in Ont, Canada, I guess 5GB per month is enough for my mom in the beginning, and LTE is faster than the lower cost broadband service that offer by Rogers, so both idea should work, but I'm still cannot make any decision because of the iOS system on HD video viewing and FaceTime connection:
    1) May I ask is there any diffenent to watch online video on iPad between wifi connection and cellular connection? Is it able to watch HD quality online video if using SIM card connected to internet?
Because I remember that the video quality is much poor if I use SIM card to connect internet long long time ago, the quality was automatically compressed when watching online video with 3G mode, but it's long time ago, not sure now.
    2) May I also ask if I can use FaceTime with SIM card connection as well (LTE)?

  • Video special effects recommendations

Hi i use a canon 60d for mostly filming sports like snowboarding or off road racing. Im just wondering what effects would you recommend for sony vega and adobe after effects that are really entertaining or good looking?
Also in the link of this video at the 2:40 mark does anyone know what effect this is or how that ghost imaging is done?

    Hi
    Can be so many things.
    1. Often the free space on the internal hard disk (start-up disk) is less than
25Gb free. When down under 5Gb it goes really strange and very instable.
    2. In iMovie up to vers. 6 there can be added plug-ins. They can be faulthy or
    missmatch.
    3. iMovie has a pref file - rather often this can be corrupted - deleting it forces
iMovie to make a new fresh error free one. (Easiest is to make a new account, log into
this and re-try - works in same way but lot's of more pref files will be made fresh.
    To start with.
    Yours Bengt W
