Video Files - What kind can I link to?

Our Marketing Dept. just asked me to publish our TV commercials from a Robohelp project. Can I do this? If so, what kinds of video files can I link to? Can I upload them as baggage files?
Thanks!

Hi,
You didn't mention your RH version?! I'll assume you have RoboHelp 9
This is relatively easy. Use the Insert > Multimedia command and locate the video file.
Most popular video files are supported, but the most popular are .FLV (Flash Video), .MP4, .MOV (Quicktime).
There will be a very simple "Playbar" which will overlap the bottom of the video for the user to control.
No matter which video format you use, the end-user's browser will need to support a default "player" to play the video type (Flash Player and Windows Media are most common).
The video will be automatically imported into"Multimedia" folder in your Project Manager (instead of Baggage). When you publish your project to the web server, the video file will go along for the ride.

i received a ms publisher file what program can i use to open and edit

There is no program that can open Publisher files except Publisher. It doesn't matter whether you use Windows or a Mac, Publisher files must have Publisher.
Publisher does not have a Mac version so you will need Windows (and Publisher)

  • Cannot upload any video files - what's wrong?

OK, I don't want to bore you with a tale, so ill try to be accurate...
I purchased a brand new Iphone 3g. It seems to be capable to receive some media files like, pictures, mp3.. but, I cannot figure out how to Upload VIDEO.
I step on the Movies folder, and i can see the (MP4) there on the playlist.
I create a new playlist folder, and place the video file there. When i step onto the iphone music sync screen, I activate the "include music videos" option.
guess what? The new folder doesn't show itself. clearly it doesn't recognize video files.
What should i do ?? it ****** me off

According to the Tech Spec page, iPhone supports the following video formats:
Video formats supported: H.264 video, up to 1.5 Mbps, 640 by 480 pixels, 30 frames per second, Low-Complexity version of the H.264 Baseline Profile with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps, 48kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats; H.264 video, up to 2.5 Mbps, 640 by 480 pixels, 30 frames per second, Baseline Profile up to Level 3.0 with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps, 48kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats; MPEG-4 video, up to 2.5 Mbps, 640 by 480 pixels, 30 frames per second, Simple Profile with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps, 48kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats

  • Exported my video from Elements 12 but Powerpoint does not recognise the video file. How can we do it?

Exported my video from Elements 12 - format mp4 but Powerpoint does NOT recognise the video file. Why?

.wpl appears to be a Windows Media Player playlist. I can find no conversion software for that, and Windows Media Player is not available for Mac anymore.
If you can persuade him to download iTunes and create the playlist as mp3 in a iTunes playlist, or even just burn the base mp3 files to CD as a data disc, that's about the only solutions I can suggest.

  • Import movie from iPhone gives "An unknown error has occurred while reading the video file. Connecting to Dynamic Link server failed. (1)

Tried previous suggestions about purging the Camera Raw Cache and I raised it to 20.0 GB.
Still lightroom fails to read most of the videos that I create on my iPhone 6 plus.
Aperture, iMovie, and Image Capture have no problem with these files.

This is an iPhoto problem. It is, IMHO, one of the worst photo/video programs ever thought up by any company.
I suggest you find your original video files, which won't contain any edits and or adjustment you have made in iPhoto, and copy them to some other folder on your drive that you create and then import them to LR.
Usually iPhoto stores all original image and video files in a folder called Masters buried deep inside the iPhoto Photolibrary package folder. Which makes almost impossible for any normal computer user to get to.
Next time you are in the market for a new computer think long and hard before you drink the Apple Mac Cool-aid.

  • Since upgrade to os5 video files from emails can no longer be viewed, they are downloaded as before, but I am no longer asked which program to open file with.  I used Azule without problems before os5' now os5 tries to open video file and stalls.  Any fix

Os5 must have changed playback functionality of video files, it tries to play .wmv files, but crashes...it shows "loading", but nothing happens.  Before update it would prompt me to choose an app to show the file, Azule worked great, but now it doesn't offer to chose an app.
    How do I fix this?

Indeed you were right. I though that in single mode all services were not started, but apparently I was mistaken.
However, as I feared, there seemingly is no useful info in it.

  • How do I compress a video file so I can send it via email?

I am trying to email a slideshow I just created in iPhoto.  My email won't accept the file because it is too large.  I tried to compress by right clicking on the file in the Finder application.  It gives me the option to compress it so I said yes.  It appears to have compressed it but it is still the same size and I can't email it.  What  am I doing wrong?  What do I need to do this?  I know people compress files all the time to send them.

You didn't say how long the slideshow is.
FCPX has a preset which, at its smallest, downsizes the resolution to 240p. But a very long video might still not be small enough.
    So how long is it?

  • Told by adobe that I should purchase photoshop elements 13 to extract photo from video but it will not even open a video file -- what am I missing?

I am supposed to be able to extract a frame from PSE 13 but it will not let me do so.  Specifically, Select File > Import > Frame From Video is supposed to allow this but when I click Import, there is no Frame from video option.
Here are the instructions from the Adobe website:
You can play a video from within Photoshop Elements and grab frames to edit and save as images.
Select File > Import > Frame From Video.
    Browse and select the video.
Click Play. The video starts playing in the Frame From Video dialog box. You can use the playback controls to display the frames your want to grab. If you find the audio distracting, select Mute.
Click Grab Frame.Photoshop Elements places the grabbed frames as images in new files., ready for editing.
    Click Done.

This is strange because I found the following on the adobe PSE 13 website (but the Select File/Import does not include Frame From Video:
You can play a video from within Photoshop Elements and grab frames to edit and save as images.
Select File > Import > Frame From Video.
    Browse and select the video.
Click Play. The video starts playing in the Frame From Video dialog box. You can use the playback controls to display the frames your want to grab. If you find the audio distracting, select Mute.
Click Grab Frame.Photoshop Elements places the grabbed frames as images in new files., ready for editing.

  • Need component video in - what adapter can I buy?

Here's the deal. We have a flip video camera whose usb "arm" totally broke off. The camera is in good working order, and has a component so you can connect it to a TV to watch your movies off it. Is there any way I can use this instead of the usb "arm?" I am mainly concerned with getting the movies off of it that had not been transferred to the computer yet.
    Thanks!

  • Importing AVCHD (.MTS) video files- what is needed?

I cannot import AVCHD files (.MTS extension on file name) from my hard drive into my (old) version of Adobe Premier Elements (version 3.0).
Am I doing something wrong, do I need to re-install the program, or do I need a newer version of Premier Elements?

    cdlansford
Hunt is correct in that the video codec AVCHD (MPEG4 AVC/H.264) was not supported by Premiere Elements until version  7. A variety of converters were used in those days before Premiere Elements 7 (because of AVCHD non support) and after versions 7 - 9 because of the resource demands of the AVCHD editing in those programs.
Typically the converters in those days took the AVCHD to a MPEG2 HD.mpg form. The most popular one at the time was the free Koyote Soft HD converter. You may want to check it out and determine if it would work for you.
    http://www.koyotesoft.com/video-software/free-hd-converter.html
As I recall there were a lucky few at the time who had Sony Vaio computers which offered an add on for AVCHD support in Premiere Elements 4 running on a particular Sony Vaio computer.
Any questions, please do not hesitate to ask.
    Thanks.

I've imported a video (.mp4) and the swf works fine. The problem happens when I move the .swf and the .mp4 to other folder or to a pendrive. I've checked the route in properties and it's ok. Can you help me?

  • I can't play video files...PLEASE HELP!!!

I was changing the settings, for what..I don't know. But now I can't play any video files. I can store them and download them and play them back on my computer, but I can't access them on my BB.
Will someone please let me know what the original factory settings are for where to store video files?
I'm assuming that I am storing them in the wrong place, so now I can't access them.
I have turned off MTP and MSMS and this does not help either way.
I need to know what is the original file to store video files.

    Hi Attila74,
What kind of video? Format? Codec needed? ... without that info is quite difficult to help you but I would bet you would need some additional codecs or simply try it with VLC.
