Video Filters suddenly missing

Started up Final Cut Pro 7 to start a new project, & found that a bunch of my filters are missing.
I'm talking about the stiock filters that come with the program.
Heaps of them seem to have vanished (there are now only 4 blur filters, & only 7 stylise filters, for instance).
I need to use a line art filter on what I'm working on, but now it's gone, along with vast numbers of others.
They were all there the last time I worked on a project.
Is there anyway to restore these?
I have "all effects" ticked under effect availability.
In Logic this sort of thing would be covered with the "download extra content: option... is there something like that hidden in FCP7?

First thing to try is to reset your fcp preferences.  Here's the foolproof way:  Digital Rebellion's Preference Manager.
https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-2491
You might need to reinstall fcp7.  There are some custom install options available with the dvd installers, might be worth a look.
I strongly recommend that when you have a fully functioning system that you clone your startup drive so that if you have this sort of problem, a restore is fairly easy.  I have a macpro with 4 drives installed internally, one of which is a clone of my startup drive.  If I have any problems, I'm back at work in a matter of minutes.

  • New Media Encoder Error: video and/or audio filters are missing...

My colleague reported this error popup window while using Adobe Media Encoder CC (up-to-date):
"video and/or audio filters are missing and the rendered output may not match the original"
I've been seeing similar errors the past few days. I can't remember if the wording was the same in the errors I saw, but the circumstances were the same.
I've never seen this popup error before the most recent CC update.
    Some background info:
I queued up multiple Premiere Pro pproj files as usual from within Premiere
without rebooting or deleting any cache or temp files or anything, I start the queue
I have no special plugins installed in Premiere. Vanilla CC install.
    Windows 7, 64-bit
This error doesn't tell me what audio/video filter(s) are missing. The output files, once I dismiss this warning, are perfect.
The major problem: It stops the queue dead in it's tracks. Sure, it might seem handy to stop and give you a warning, but when it's a false report and there's nothing wrong, it's killing us, because we queue up multiple files for encoding overnight, and we're not here to get the popups.
What is likely causing this? Is it a bug that this is appearing so frequently? Has anyone else experienced this besides my colleague and I?
    Thanks!

Update for anyone experiencing this issue:
We are still investigating the cause of the issue and would really like your help tracking it down. If you run in to it I would be happy to jump on the phone with you and preferably do a screenshare as well. If you want to run some tests for me, this is what may help us track it down:
    0. Please make sure you are updated to the latest version of Premiere Pro and AME, which at this time are Premiere Pro 7.2.1 and AME 7.2.
    1. Simplify the project. Create a copy of the project and eliminate anything in the project that isn't related to the sequence(s) you are exporting. Then run the encode again. If it still occurs, move to the next step. If it doesn't occur any more, repeat step one and only remove half of the unused items (sorry, this is giong to be a manual process). Rinse, repeat.
    2. Open your sequence in Premiere and press Cmd/Ctrl + A to select all clips in your sequence. Right click and select Remove All Effects. Export again. No repro? Go to step 4. If it still repros, go to step 4.
    3. Make all the media offline. Export again. No repro? Go to step 4. Repro? Go to step 5.
    4. Send me a message with as much detail as possible. Even better would be if you could provide me a copy of your project file.
Your help in tracking this issue down is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

  • How to install missing video filters

Hello i have made changes to a video using after affect then returning to the video in Premiere Pro and the filters are missing, what is the solution
    Thanks

Either render your AE project and replace the footage or use Dynamic Link. You must go through some of the getting started materials and help files before you can effectively use After Effects.

  • Disapearing video filters in Premiere Pro CS6

All video effects are suddenly missing from the effects panel. I have checked the plug-ins folder and they are still there. Can anyone help me?

Take a look at the buttons next to the search bar at the top of the Effects panel and toggle them to see if that is the solution.

  • HT3819 My iMac had a corrupt seagate HD that had to be replaced my imovie files & itunes video library are missing when I picked up my Mac from Apple?

I purchased my 27" iMac in October 2010 after attending classes we discovered my computer needed new graphics card, hard drive, and a total rebuild after owning it only 6 months. Apple rebuilt my new computer, several months later same issues began yet again, slowly Apple began replacing defective parts they installed, my computer still hasn't worked as it should and has been in and out of Apple all the time sometimes they keep it for weeks! running tests?? February 10, 2013 I took my imac back in because it has been taking upwards of 6 minutes to make 1 single edit in imovie after 6 days of editing my project I could No Longer save in itunes, external HD, or export my imovie videos (they are 4 min up to 20 min max) Apple informed me that my Hard Drive was corrupt a bad batch of Seagate HD had been installed and my computer was again affected by this and it needed to be replaced and they couldn't get it to respond at all my itunes library was missing, etc. We saved my videos on my external HD I brought in with me. The Genius bar said they would call me in 3-5 days for me to pick up my computer. 9 Days later not hearing back from them I went in to get an update February 19, 2013 No one can tell me what was done except my HD was replaced they can't answer my questions about my itunes library being reinstated or my videos, music is missing, podcasts, etc. I was even using icloud, empty? They tell me IF I find anything wrong or not working again to just bring it back.  My iMovie videos ALL the edits are missing ? I can't find ANY of my videos in my itunes my Library is empty as it is in imovie except for 2 videos? HELP! I can't imagine having to re-edit my entire video with sound effects, fronts, graphics, etc. I spent weeks on this :-( I'm at my wits end with my iMac.... I have searched in my previous itunes library EMPTY ! Waaaah! I want my mommy....

The Apple Store is not responsible for data loss and generally does not do any backups of your data before performing any repairs, though in some cases, as seems to be the case in yours, they guide you to making your own backup. Here's what they say on the "getting service page" (when I've taken a system in for service a similar statement was presented to me when I agreed to the service):
Many repairs require Apple to replace or reformat the hard disk, which will result in the loss of your data. Please make sure you back up your data on a regular basis to minimize your data loss. Learn more about backup options. Apple and Apple Authorized Service Providers are not responsible for any damage to or loss of any applications, data, or other information stored on your Mac desktop while performing service.
Since you say that you backed up your videos before the drive was replaced, why can you not just restore them? And did you not back up anything else?
If you didn't make any sort of backup of your other data prior to taking the iMac in for service, then sorry but your data is almost certainly gone. Regular reliable backups are a must, particularly when dealing with content you spend a lot of time creating. You may be able to re-download any content you purchased from the iTunes Store or Mac App Store, but anything else you'll have to recreate or re-obtain from the original source.
    Regards.

  • Video's are missing and can not post any video's and can no longer see on Facebook after upgrading mac software.  Facebook says content is unavailable.  Is this a facebook issue or is there something that I can do to fix on my mac.

Video's are missing from facebook album under photo's.  It shows that I have 99 and only shows 24.  These are not copyright problems.  I have had them up for years.  Now, I can not post any video's  too.  Message says that content is currently unavailable. It seemed to happen after I upgraded to 10.7.5 but it could be coincidental.  Of course, I have not got any email from facebook to help with this problem and I am really frustrated that I can not find my video's and post any new ones anymore.  Any help would be appreciated.

I would like to add that Comcast is my internet provider. Perhaps that is part of the issue although the Connection Doctor confirms the mail box is connecting to the internet. No other function processes when Connection Doctor program is used to find the source of the issue. I have read forum posts but am unable to find a way to get my Apple mail to be delivered to my computer. It worked fine up until I chose to transfer mail to the Cloud. My mail account is a .mac account.
Still hoping someone out there can help me.
    thanks,
    anne

  • Video filters not working when applied to sequence clips

I have looked through the forums and haven't found the solution to my problem. I am having problems with video filters on clips in the timeline. I have footage that needs color correction. In the viewer I created a 3 way filter for one clip, saved it, and applied to all clips in the browser. They all open corrected in the viewer. (I did this because i was reviewing the clips with my client).
When I put the clip in the timeline it does not indicate it needs a render, the filter does not appear on the clip, but when I double click and open the sequence clip in the viewer the color correction tab is there. I've removed attributes and tried again several times, both using the menu with the clip selected, and by doulbleclicking the clip into the viewer and apply the filter there. The tab is always there but the filter does not appear on the clip. It only appears when the process is done to clips from the browser inthe viewer. I've checked the RT for unlimted, I've done a render all video, I've checked settings under the render tab and filters is checked. I've gone into another project and have the same problem in a different project with different clips. I had a recent project where I used a blur effect and it worked fine. My video is DV and my sequence settings are DV NTSC.
I've run out of my ideas and comments from ither threads. What is my next troubleshoot? Should I delete preferecnes? I haven't done that with FCP, can I do it myself or use Rescue? Could that create other problems for me? Any other ideas?
I work in Afghanistan and have no resources here for any Mac support besides books and forums.
    Thanks

    Hey Catrina
Not sure what the issue is with your application of the 3-Way Color Corrector in the Browser. My guess, is that perhaps you only thought you applied the "saved" instance of the 3-way corrector but instead applied a default neutral instance of the corrector.  How did you save the correction you applied to the other instances?  A good method is, having applied and tweaked it as needed to a sample clip instance, you can drag a copy of it out of the clip's Filter tab and drop it directly into your Browser window.  To check, then double click that Browser instance of the corrector to open it in the Viewer window and see if has the corrections settings as expected and no the default ones. If so, go ahead and drag it to another clip instance in the Browser and then drag that clip to your sequence ... has the correction "stuck" bow? But while we figure it out, for now, why not just apply the saved correction directly to the clips in the sequence?  Regarding trashing your preferences ... download Preference Manager from Digital Rebellion.  Very straightforward to use.
    Cheers
    Andy

  • Why are many of my toolbar bookmarks suddenly missing, & why can't I designate where to put bookmarks now? Star won't accept double-clicks anymore.

All of a sudden yesterday I can no longer click the star twice to tell it where to put the bookmark, and even when I click it once it doesn't save the bookmark anywhere. Also many of my toolbar bookmarks are now suddenly missing. I've tried to restore bookmarks and it says it's unable to perform that function. Help!

You can check for problems with the <b>places.sqlite</b> database file in the Firefox profile folder.

  • Video filters screen setup

    Hello All,
    Help please...
I have tons of filters/plugins. When I open my video filters screen (from the effects window), I always have to arrange my window so that I can see the majority of the filters. Is there a way to have this setup when launching FCE HD so that I don't have to always re arrange my video filters window?
I have a custom setup that I am using with two monitors. Viewer, Canvas & Browser on one screen and Effects & timeline on my other monitor.

You can make custom window arrangements of course, but they won't leave contents of windows open as I think you'd like. Might I suggest that it's more efficient to access the filters from the Effects menu rather than from the bins in the Effects tab of the browser.

MacBook Pro  / Mozilla Firefox / Netflix / Silverlight Update solved - DON'T DWNLOAD FROM NETFLIX
I solved this problem tonight. I have a MacBook Pro with 10.5.8. I know, it's old. But I love my Netflix and I recently noticed that Firefox plays Netflix much better.  Then I suddenly got this message that I needed to download the latest Silverlight - it only takes 30 seconds! - WRONG.   However, after much searching, I finally did the steps in order and it worked.
This was after repeatedly downloading Silverlight from the Netflix site without success.  So here's what I did:
    1. Went to http://www.microsoft.com/getsilverlight/Get-Started/Install/Default.aspx
    2. Followed the directions. I felt like such an idiot for not doing it right before.
    3. Go to your hard drive and search for "Silverlight" to locate ANY existing Silverlight files: .dmg, etc.
[also check your Libary/ Internet Plug-ins, but the above search is faster]
    4. Drag it all to the trash and empty it.
    5. Go back to the Get  Silverlight page and click on the Install on that page, not the Netflix site.
    6. Note the steps for Safari or Mozilla Firefox - I wanted Firefox, so I follwed those instructions.
    7. Once it's installed, close all the browsers and Restart that bad boy. Right away.
    8. Open a browser, go to Netflix and proceed to joyfully rot your brain with Netflix content. Yay!

  • [SOLVED] - Package xf86-video-via is missing from repositories!

    Hi,
I have a VIA card as follows:
VGA Compatible Controller: VIA Technologies, Inc. S3 Unichrome Pro VGA Adapter (rev 01)
My X doesn't work except in VESA mode. But in Vesa mode, when I play videos in mplayer, I can't fullscreen them.
When I checked the sample xorg.conf files mentioned in the Xorg wiki, I find that I am advised to use the xf86-video-via package.
But the package xf86-video-via is missing from repositories!
pacman -Ss xf86-video-via doesn't give results!
    Please help.
    Thanks.

  • HD Video Recording app missing?

    HD Video Recording app missing?
I restored my iPhone 4S with my latest backup from previous model, but HD camera seems to be lost. What should I do?
    Thx for any help.

If you are talking about the Camera app it can't be deleted.  Look through all your screens and inside all your folders.  If you still can't find it go to Settings>General>Reset>Reset Home Screen Layout.  This will restore the home screen to its original configuration and apps, but may move other apps around to accomplish this.

  • OBIEE 11g Filters are missing. (

    Hi,
I am implementing OBIA for HR. All dashboards are working fine but One dashboard is not showing data. according to my best knowledge some filters are missing during installation that's why dashboard is not showing data if it is true then from where i can get these filters cause i am implementing OBIA, and its oracle stander product.
The error is "Error Generating view. Process action error".
"Path not found((/shared/Human Resources/_filter/Human Resources- Learining Enrollment ......)"
    Looking for Help
    Regards

Thanks for your reply. This is quite complex as i thought. YES i look for this Filter in Folder it was N't there during Folder Extration These Filter's where missing and the Reason for Missing is File Path is exceeding from 256 Characters So Windows has a limitation for File Path. to solve this problem is search for Software to reduce file path it didn't work. Then i m rename Missing Filter and pasted in Folder Now i m trying to rename Filter Name on Analysis but Edit Option is not available.
After all this story i have two options
1- Delete Filter (i m not going to do tht)
2- Define New Filter. (i m using OBIA application so i dont know how they developed this filter0
3- Rename Filter name from Analysis site where it will matched Folder Filter name
I would really appreciate if some one help to Rename Filter from Analatics where Edit option is not available(work around method) in OBIA-11G
    Regards
