Video Flashing while watching
Whenever I watch a youtube video, it tends to flash/blink while playing the video, I notice it does this in other videos too such as MLB.com. What could this be? Brand New Macbook Pro, literally had this for less than a week. All help is greatly appreciated

Popout window can't be seen while watching a fulls...
I just switched from a PC to a Mac. On my PC, I have always been able to see the popout window in a video call while watching a streamed video in fullscreen. On my new Mac, as soon as I change a video to fullscreen, the popup window is no longer visible. I have been told it's always been like this on my contact's Mac. Is there a setting to fix this?

I can't see my taskbar anymore in fullscreen mode while watching flash videos. how do I fix this?
I used to be able to see my taskbar while watching flash videos full screen. now I can't. I end up missing messages and worse yet, the low battery warning on screen and my computer shuts down. I have firefox 24.0.
Hi, I don't know how much help this screenshot is going to be but here goes. I used to be able to play flash videos full screen and see my taskbar on the bottom. Last week I think (not really sure, since it updates itself) there was a flash update. After the update, when I make the videos fullscreen, my taskbar disappears. Now I have to come out of fullscreen and check for the battery life and messages constantly. There's no "on top" setting for the taskbar in windows 7 but it is set to lock.

I am using FaceTime to look in on a meeting being held on the other end, but I don't want the people on the other end to be able to see me. Is there a way to disable the camera while watching on FaceTime on my MacBook Pro?
First of all, if you want to run video inside a .pdf on an iPad, you should be aware that the Adobe Tablet and Mobile reader does NOT support rich media ( audio or video ). Despite trying to encourage Adobe to 'get real', it seems that they have no intention to do so in the short term. SO ... I have been working with a company called Readdle, and beta testing their 'PDF Expert' application, and it is probably the most sophisticated .pdf reader for iOS on the market.
It supports rich media, and certain levels of JavaScript that are particularly useful for this kind of work.
However, if all you want to do is insert video into a single .pdf document, that will run on iOS ( with 'PDF Expert only' ) as well as desktop Mac or PC, the video needs to be h264 .mp4 format ( basically avoid ANY based Flash content for iOS ).
You should also note, that active Buttons ( not hyperlinks, which are different ) which you might wish to create in say InDesign or even Acrobat, need to be made up of just imagery (and that also means converting your text to outlines ). However, this is only necessary for iOS with PDF Expert. Also be aware that I have not done much work which includes .pdf on Android.
I do think though that if you stick with basic navigation, avoid active 'Layers' authoring and only want to run simple video, the h264 .mp4 encoding is going to work across ALL platforms.

Volume problem while watching videos
Flash player 11.8.800.94, Windows 7 (64-bit), Internet Explorer 10.
Updated to the latest version of flash player, my volume is way too low while watching a video on youtube for example, same problem with twitch.tv, dailymotion.com etc
I have to tune up the volume of my speakers nearly to the max if I want to hear anything from the video, when I uninstall flash player, the volume is normal again, equal to my standard volume of my pc.
I reinstalled the flash player but the problem remains.

Is there any solution to this problem?

Stuttering while watching videos...
So, I have terrible stuttering issues playing videos when using Firefox and Chrome. I've narrowed it down to Flash by deselecting all of the plug-in boxes in both browsers. Playing videos works perfectly fine in IE, but I would much rather prefer browsing in Chrome or Firefox. I've tried re-installing both browsers, updating Flash, using older versions of Flash, making sure the "use hardware acceleration" is selected and even tried deselecting. My task manager doesn't say that my resources are being throttled and as far as I can tell, there's no interference there. I also tried using the HTML5 version of YouTube and it works flawlessly but the issue with that is the limitations as it only utilizes up to 720p.
So, what exactly is the issue here and how can I fix it? Not only is the stuttering making videos impossible to watch, it seems to carry over to regular internet browsing as cycling through browsers and scrolling up and down have an annoying lag as well.

16 GB RAM
SSD drive for OS
850 Watt PSUi have the same problem.....my model is a1181, i wonder if its just because its that old a laptop that the sound is buffering, then by us doing the "insert headphones/remove headphones" it maybe resets it and lasts for a while....
I also have problems with the playback on iplayer, even when i download the program first...i wonder if this is graphics card related?? -

Give Allan's advice a try. I'm curious to see how that works for you.
4GB RAM could be part of the issue. Open Activity Monitor, select System Memory and see what it says for Page ins, Page outs, and Swap used.
Perian isn't a necessity, but those three together usually cover all the different formats you might encounter. -

My mac keeps crashing while watching video online
I am new to using a Mac, but it keeps crashing while watching online video (netflicks, espn ect.) while on battery power. Battery
power is sufficient when this happens. I cannot restart until I plug back into power. Any advice would be appreciated.Try using Disk Utility to do a Disk Repair, as shown in this link, while booted up on your install disk. You could have some directory corruption. Let us know what errors Disk Utility reports and if DU was able to repair them.
Disk Utility's Disk Repair is not perfect and may not find or repair all directory issues. A stronger utility may be required to finish the job.
After that Repair Permissions. No need to report Permissions errors....we all get them.

Can I have my mac in stop while watching a home video which is on my iMac's hard drive?
I have had a 1st gen ATV long time ago.
It came with a hard disk where I was storaging a bunch of videos I ripped from my dvd for my kids.
I know the new gens now don't have a HD but get the films from the mac's drive in streaming.
My question is: does the mac HAS to be completed turned on? Or can it work while in stop? It would be annoying to have it turned on in the same room while watching TV.
Secon question: can the ATV access the itunes library of a user which is not the one selected on the mac at that very moment?

G- The Mac has to be on and running iTunes in order to be accessible for ATV.
- If the other computer has been setup with the same home sharing ID then both can be accessed. Otherwise, you would need to switch over to the other ID. The answer above would apply here too. -
LCD flickering problem in HP 15-S005TX while watching videos

I would say that's normal. Cellular uses more power than wifi. Your screen brightness is also a factor. Lower the screen brightness & battery will last longer.
The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.
Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.
