Video freez but voice works

when i try to video chat it works for 30 sec then the person im chating withs video freezez but audio still works great. i checked and conection says its fast. i also checked if my lap top had all requirerments and it does. I asked the other person and said it only does it when she chats with me,so its on my end. my video to her she said was perfect...anything else i can try ?  I also attached info

Try to uninstall the currently installed Skype version and install the previous 6.14.0.104 version using the download links provided here:

Make sure to disable automatic updates:
Tools -> Options -> Advanced -> Automatic updates ->Turn off automatic updates

  • No video signal, but G5 works

    Hi, newby here...
    I've just received a G5 as a gift, without HD, but that's minor... I've placed one and was trying to instll 10.5. But the problem is that it sends no video signal to the monitor (an apple perfectly working one). Actually it sents (on the 30-40 startup tries) video signal 1 time: after again no signal. I've resetted eveything in every way (PRAM, NVRAM, PMU, SMU whatever, no signal). I can't believe it's the video card, because it worked one time. I've completely disassembled, cleaned and reassembled the new toy, but it shows no life sign to the monitor, but i can hear it works....
    Can it be the battery?
    What can I try? thanks all....

  • Can't Video Chat, but Audio Works Great

    Hey guys....I have been trying my hardest to get my IChat video feature up and running.
    The audio works great when conferencing and obviously the im works fine. Myself and the person I am trying to video chat with both are using AIM through IChat. Here is the error message I am getting -
    2009-04-06 13:53:14 -0400: No data has been received for the last 10 seconds.
    Audio channel info: local machine using 192.168.1.3:16402, expecting remote machine to send to 173.66.213.133:16402
    Video channel info: local machine using 192.168.1.3:16402, expecting remote machine to send to 173.66.213.133:16402
    If I restart my IChat and send a video chat invitation I can initially see the person on the other end. But, the picture then freezes (almost instantly) and then I get the error message.

    Hi,
    Two possible things.
    1) Go to System Preferences > Quicktime > Streaming tab and set the speed to 1.5Mbps and relaunch iChat so it "sees" the new speed.
    2) Check your modem/router for any DoS (Denial of Service) or SPI (Stateful Packet Inspection) feature and turn it Off.
    Examples
    Netgears have either DOS or SPI in the WAN Page
    Netopias have this Feature as part of the Firewall when you use a setting higher than Low.
    Linksys tend to have the same in the firewall in the Security tab.
    Basically they can be anywhere in the set up pages as the manufacturers never put them in the same place.
    Both features examine incoming data to see if it is an attack.
    In an iChat video chat so much data can be sent from higher speed processors over high speed inter net connections that it is regarded by DOS as a attack.
    SPI tries to evaluate the validity of the data and tend to get overwhelmed (Simplified view).
    192.168.1.3 looks more like an IP from a Linksys than the other two examples.

  • Frozen Video Playback But Audio Works

    I'm stumped tonight. imovie froze in the middle of a clip trimming. When it came back up the project will not play properly. The audio plays, but the video is frozen. I can skim through the video down in the events browser, but the project is worthless. Additionally, when I pulled up an old project it gives me the same symptoms. I've restarted multiple times. I've dumped the .plst....I don't have any ideas. I will reload the software, but does anybody have experience solving this problem? I've seem the question asked several times here, but no answers.

    As I posted today, just noticed this as well. Imovie worked just fine about 2 weeks ago.

  • Firefox won't play sound on youtube video's but sound works in other applications

    i can play sound as usual on other applications such as media player, vlc, itunes etc... but firefox and internet explorer do not work, google chrome doesnt even work. i have re-downloaded flash player and the pluggins many times trying to fix it, cleaned out my pc with ccleaner, anti-virus checked and such. i just cant fix it. i have before but i forget how and it always happens again after a while, especially just after pulling out speakers or headphones from the jack.

    Try clearing the Cache in Firefox.
    Tools-> Clear Recent History -> [v] Cache
    or
    Tools->Options->Advanced->Network -> Offline storage -> [Clear Now]
    Youtube may have made some changes recently. Clear the Youtube cookie and refresh page if above does not do it.

    Reset your device: hold down the home button along with the sleep/wake button until you see the Apple, then let go. (No data loss)

  • No audio with video chat, but it works with screen sharing...

    I've got a friend who just upgraded to snow leopard. We're both using iMacs. My computer is working find, and I have audio and video with other people.
    When we video chat, there is no audio. When I screen share with her computer, with her seeing my desktop or me seeing her desktop, the audio works.
    No mute buttons are down, I've checked system preferences (sound) everything is right.
    Any ideas?

    HAs she checked that System Preferences > Sound > Input is listing and has her Mic Selected ?
    Is he r Volume high enough in the same place ?
    In her Video Menu is the "Microphone " Enabled" ticked ?
    In iChat Menu > Preferences > Video Section is the same Mic listed ?
    Do the response bars move under the Preview when she talks ?
    During a Chat in Your Connection Doctor (Video Menu) is she sending any Audio ?
    IS she showing as having a log more Bit Rate than you ?

    Newest version Flash Player v 11.2.202.235 doesn't work when trying to view Flash video online, but does work when using the same Dreamweaver files locally?
    Win7/64, Firefox 12, 16 gb ram, core i3 @3.07GHz

    Define "doesn't work" - what do you see instead of the expected Flash content?
    Does that happen for any Flash object on the Internet, or only your Dreamweaver files?

    It sounds like your vocal audio is not working with your headphones connected to your iPhone. I would start with the troubleshooting from the following article to help troubleshoot them named:

    Update your software
    Install the latest version of iOS. You can see which version is on your iPhone by going to the About screen.

    Disconnect and inspect the accessory, then restart your device
    Disconnect the accessory and turn it off, if possible.
    Inspect the connection between the accessory and device and make sure that no debris or other damage is present.

    Try a different device
    Make sure the issue is with the accessory, if possible. Always use an identical or similar, compatible device with the accessory you're troubleshooting.

    I upload mp4 and 3gp video, just have voice but no picture.
    The recorded MP4 video files from smartphones, upload to stream server,
    just have voice but no picture.
    But I download mp4 and 3gp videos from youtube through third-party software,
    only mp4 have picture, the 3gp videos still no picture.
    Can someone tell me why, and how to solve it?

    If your iMovie is otherwise acting ok, and it wouldn't hurt to delete preferences to double check that,  then;
    My two guesses are:
    1) The movie file is corrupt in some way, unusable.
    2) it is made in a codec that you will need to convert in order to play in iMovie. I would try playing it in Mpeg Streamcast (free download) and VLC, also a free download. They will sometimes play clips that quicktime won't.
    But it really would help to know what the codec is, or what camera it was made on.
    Video clips really don't work sometimes because they were screwed up in the camera.

    No. After upgrading (and of course make a back up first) you will need to update iPhoto to v9.6.1 (you won't be able to do this prior to upgrading). Here's how:
    Go to the App Store and check out the Purchases List. If iPhoto is there then it will be v9.6.1
    If it is there, then drag your existing iPhoto app (not the library, just the app) to the trash
    Install the App from the App Store.
    Sometimes iPhoto is not visible on the Purchases List. it may be hidden. See this article for details on how to unhide it.

    One question often asked: Will I lose my Photos if I reinstall?
    iPhoto the application and the iPhoto Library are two different parts of the iPhoto programme. So, reinstalling the app should not affect the Library. BUT you should always have a back up before doing this kind of work. Always.
    Photos is v1 of a new app, as yes it's not as mature as iPhoto. It uses a different technology for working with external editors. That requires Adobe to write an extension to let it hook into the new app. Not done yet, neither has anyone else.
    Going forward: iPhoto will run on OS 10.10., but there is no guarantee for subsequent versions of the OS. You might want to factor that into your anger term thinking.

    Had an Iphone 4 for about 3 months now. This happened to the first one I had and they ended up having to replace it at the apple store just a couple weeks ago 6/2. It happened again last night to my new one. This time i was able to correct it by going to itunes, backing up the phone to icloud, and then restoring the software. Mine did not work with voice memo, but did work with headphones plugged in, and would also work on speaker. I could hear callers but they couldn't hear me. I had purchased a new case (lifeproof case at $79.99) because it comes with plugs that cover the headphone jack, and the charging port, and is also waterproof. I heard that the root cause is due to lint, dirt, etc getting inside the headphone jack. Well, must be something else. It's a 10 days old phone, and has been in this overpriced case the whole time, and I have not used the headphones. I hope this doesn't keep happening.

  • Installed Premiere Pro CS4 but video display does not work?

    I just got my copy of CS$. After installing Premiere I found two things that seem very wrong:
    1) video display does not work, not even the little playback viewer next to improted film clips located on the project / sequence window. Audio works fine.
    2) the UI is way too slow for my big beefy system.
    My pc is a dual boot Vista-32 and XP system with 4GB of memory installed and nvidia geforce 280 graphics board with plenty of GPU power. The CS4 is installed on the Vista-32 partition. My windows XP partition on the same PC with Premiere CS2 works great and real fast.
    Any ideas how to solve this CS4 install issue?

    I would like to thank Dan, Hunt, and Haram:
    The problem is now very clear to me. The problem only shows up with video footage imported into PP CS4 encoded with "MS Video 1" codec. So this seems to be a bug. The codec is very clearly called out and supported within various menues but video with this codec just will not play in any monitor or preview window. In addition the entire product looks horrible with respect to performance while PP CS4 trys its best to play the video. Audio will start playing after about 30 seconds. And once in awhile part of video shows up at the wrong magnification before blanking out again.
    My suggestion to the Adobe team: fix the bug and add some sample footage to the next release so new installations can test their systems with known footage.

  • Iphone 6 (Verizon,64GB,space gray)  microphone works for text dictation and Siri but stopped working for calls and voice memos.

    My iphone 6 the micorphone has stoppped working unless I speak loudly right into it and its still not clear during calls and voice memos. But it works just fine for Siri and text dictation. I use the earbuds for work so not sure how long its been going on. Only change is I updated to iOS 8.1.3. Not sure if I should exchange my phone or if its a software glitch since the same mic seems to work for some things and not others. Any ideas would be apreciated.

    Try to reset the phone by holding the sleep and home button for about 10sec, until the Apple logo comes back again. You will not lose any data by resetting, but it can cure some glitches.
    If this does not help, setting it up as new device would be the next step:
