Video from ITunes has no audio on Ipod

I have an Ipod 30GB, and I have downloaded several videos form ITunes. About 4 months ago the audio stopped working on the videos and I can't figure out why. The audio on the songs works, but not the video. Any suggestions?

On the iPod main menu, select videos, then select video settings, and turn off "TV Out".

  • Purchased video from itunes won't transfer to ipod

I bought a tv show on itunes on my old computer (along with some music videos) and transfered all of those plus all of my music to a new computer. The music videos and music updated back onto my ipod, but the tv show did not. Since then, I've been having trouble updating any video that fits the requirements for my ipod. I am able to add it to itunes, but it will not update. I know there's something wrong with either itunes or my ipod (I have updated the software on both) because my cousin was able to add a certain movie to his ipod, but mine won't update it. Does anyone know what's going on?

    Welcome to Apple Discussions!
Connect your iPod to your computer and when it appears in iTunes go to edit-->preferences. Click the iPod tab. Then hit the video tab. Make sure automatically update all videos is selected.
If it is, then click update no videos at the bottom and hit okay. Eject the iPod. Then connect it back up and reenable the option.

  • Erasing videos from iTunes without losing them on iPod

hey, i got a 30g 5.5, ive put lots of movies on it using iTunes, now my problem is this, i want to erase the movies from my computer hard disc and iTunes library, but not from my iPod, when i do erase them from my PC hardrive they get erased from the iPod on next sync =( !HELP!

In order to do this, you need to set your iPod to manage the iPod content manually.
This will allow you to store stuff of the iPod without the need to keep it on your computer.
I hope you have a back up of these movies?

  • Videos from Itunes store wont sync to ipod, format not playable

    Hey everyone,
Today i tried to sync my ipod to add some new songs, and it said that the two Pirates movies off itunes could not be transfered because they are unplayable for the ipod...mind you the videos were on it before and have been played.
I tried to put a TV show instead and it copied 7 of the 22 over and then said the rest were unplayable...any ideas? Is my iPod dying? Could be a good thing cuz then I would have an excuse to buy an iPhone ha ha
    thanks

It could be a problem with some of the downloads in which case you would need to contact the iTunes Store. But before that have you tried:
    1. Resetting your iPod (Hold down the menu and center buttons for six seconds)
    2. Restoring your iPod in iTunes (all data will be removed).

  • Imported video from iMovie has no audio

I created a project in iMovie '09 (from a video and audio imported from a camcorder) and exported it to iDVD '09 (using share, iDVD). However, when I opened the project in iDVD the video had no audio. Does anyone know how to export a project from iMovie to iDVD with its original audio?

    Hi
Don't use "Share to iDVD" (in any version of iMovie)
    BUT
    • "Share to Media Browser" and as LARGE
    (Not HD or other resolutions)
(only Medium can be used if Large fails (done that occational to me))
    • Then - START A Brand New iDVD project and in this use the Media button (down to the right) and Movies and from here import Your movie.

  • Mpeg video plays in iTunes, but no audio on iPod

I have a 10 minute video that plays fine in iTunes 7.0.1.8 on Widows XP. I did the "Convert Selection for iPod", which then allowed me to download the video.
However, when I play the video on the iPod, there is no sound.
The article "iPod plays video but not audio of some exported files" http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=302588
describes this same condition, and attributes it to "muxed audio".
The suggestion to do "Show Movie Info" in Quicktime Player did not confirm the format as "MPEG1 Muxed" or "MPEG2 Muxed". Instead the Format field has ", 25971 x 28257, unknown" - kind of an unsatisfactory description.
The video file plays fine in Qucktime Player, it plays fine in iTunes - but it has lost all audio on the iPod.
Does anybody have a fix for this?
    Dave

First, make sure you are running the most recent update on your iPod.
Second, what are you using to convert your video? Have you tried purchasing any of the videos from iTunes? Do they work okay??

  • Only one music video purchased from itunes is not playing on IPod

I purchased several music videos from itunes and they all seem to sync to my ipod just fine but one of them will not play. The other three I purchased is playing fine both visual and audio but only one will not play at all. When I click on it, the screen just goes black and after several seconds, returns me to the menu listing the name of the video. It plays on my daughter's ipod just fine and we both have the same IPod. I've tried to re-sync and reset but nothing seems to work. Can someone please help me. Thx!

It may be an authorization issue. Both iTunes and the iPod need to be up-to-date.
Usually, you need to play at least a part of songs purchased from the iTMS within iTunes to authorize them. They won't copy to your iPod until you do this.
How to transfer Purchased Music from iTunes to your iPod
    iTMS Song and Computer Authorization
If you've played & authorized them in iTunes and they still skip, try this. De-authorize the computer in iTunes/Advanced menu, then re-authorize it. You re-authorize it by playing one of the songs purchased from the iTunes Music Store within iTunes. It should ask you for your Apple ID and password, and then the computer will be authorized again. Sync your iPod with iTunes, and those songs should play on the iPod once again.
Another common cause of this is not having the latest version of iTunes.
If you are using the latest version of iTunes (6.0.4), then you need to make sure your iPod software is up to date also. Get the iPod Updater software, install it, run it and update your iPod.
When you have done this, authorize your music in iTunes by playing a few seconds of it within iTunes, re-sync your iPod, and it should transfer by whatever synching method you choose.
If the above 'standard' fixes did not help, then it's a bigger problem that I can diagnose...

  • Problem transferring video from iTunes to iPod

I can't transfer video from iTunes to iPod. DVD movies converted to MP4 using Cucusoft software and a TV show purchased from iTunes Music Store won't transfer. The only video that has tranferred successfully is a video podcast called "Tiki Bar". It did ok.
60GB iPod with click wheel   Windows XP Pro

Connect the iPod and go to edit-->preferenes. Click the iPod tab. Click the videos tab under that. Make sure automatically update all videos is selected.
Note: Your preferences may look slightly different.
Also, try playing the video you purchased from the iTunes Music Store for a few seconds on your computer.

My 7th generation iPod nano won't allow me to sync videos from iTunes. How can I fix this?

What video content works with iTunes and mobile devices?
    iTunes:
Video content purchased from the iTunes Store.
QuickTime and MPEG-4 movie files that end in ".mov", ".m4v", or ".mp4" and are playable in QuickTime Player.
    Video podcasts.
    iTunes Digital Copies.
iTunes Store Movie Rentals (Requires iTunes 9 or later).
    Mobile Devices:
Video content purchased from the iTunes Store.
Videos that have been shared to iTunes using QuickTime Player (Mac OS X v10.6 Snow Leopard).
Videos that have been re-encoded for iPod with QuickTime 7 Pro.
Videos that have been re-encoded for iPod with iMovie, Final Cut Pro, and others. Refer to Exporting a movie from iMovie HD to iPod for an iMovie HD tutorial.
Video Podcasts that have been created for mobile devices.
Video files after using the iTunes File > Create New Version > Create iPod or iPhone version option.
Video files after using the iTunes File > Create New Version > Create iPad or AppleTV version option (iPad and AppleTV only).
See below for detailed movie specifications.
iTunes  Store Movie Rentals (Requires iTunes 9 or later).
Does the video need to be encoded in a special way?
All mobile devices which iTunes can sync video to can play the following video formats:
    H.264
File formats: .m4v, .mp4, and .mov
Video: Up to 768 kbits/sec, 320 x 240, 30 frames per second (fps), Baseline Profile up to Level 1.3.
Audio: AAC-LC up to 160 kbits/sec, 48 Khz, and stereo audio.
    MPEG-4
File formats: .m4v, .mp4, and .mov
    Video: Up to 2.5 Mbits/sec, 480 x 480, 30 fps, Simple Profile.
Audio: AAC-LC up to 160 kbits/sec, 48 Khz, stereo audio.
Other formats may be supported by newer devices. The technical specifications can give additional details.

  • How do I download audio only from a video from itunes

I bought a video from itunes store, but my ipod is only the 4gb new generation. I don't have vidoe on it...all I want to do is download the audio portion onto my ipod. Can this be done and if so please help. Thanx

The best thing you could try would be to use a third party program that can extract mp3s.
This is a link to Jodix's Mp3 extractor (its a fifteen day free trial but it should get the job done).

  • Error message when trying to transfer/sync video from itunes to ipod

I have never had this problem before, but I just purchased a couple music videos from itunes and then was trying to manually transfer/sync them to my ipod and then I receive the error message "Attempting to copy to the disk failed. The disk could not be read from or written to"
I can transfer/sync music just fine still, and I have transferred music videos in the past. And I checked the info tab on the music videos and they are "protected content" but I have been able to transfer other protected content videos from itunes before.
I have tried restarting itunes and the ipod, putting it in disk mode and nothing seems to work. I would appreciate someone's help, THANK YOU!

Have you had a chance to look at this troubleshooting page? It may be of some help: "Disk cannot be read from or written to" when syncing iPod

    Hi Powell73,
Your iPod Classic will most likely work with Standard Definition (SD) video content. You may find the following articles helpful in that regards:

I purchased a video from iTunes but it will not sync to my iPod.  I get a message stating that the video "was not loaded to the iPod because iyt cannot be played on this iPod."  I tried to use the "create an iPod version" but the command is grayed out

I was refering to the "sample rate", normally 44.1 KHz, the iPod might not be able to play tracks with a non-standard rate. Otherwise I'm not sure what the issue might be.

My pc has crashed and lost a considerable amount of music and videos from iTunes the files are still in iTunes but are empty, will iTunes Match restore my content over the cloud?

Hm ... I guess I can't edit the post above. Anyway, I seem to have solved it by ...
    Quitting iTunes.
Going into Home / Music / iTunes, and renaming the file "iTunes Library.itl" to "iTunes Library (corrupt).itl".
Entering Time Machine, and restoring the "iTunes Library.itl" file from a few days ago. I went back two days, which seemed far enough back to be "before" the problem but not far enough back to have trouble with recent acquisitions.
Re-opening iTunes - and everything seemed to be back in order.
So that's fine for now. We'll see if the solution is stable.
Very, very tentative assignment of blame: I believe iTunes crashed earlier today after I'd synced photos from my iPhone to iPhoto, and then iTunes crashed while iPhoto was closing (and taking its sweet time doing so). If that was indeed the case, that's at least the second time in the past couple of months that trying to sync iPhone photos to iPhoto has caused me significant problems. (The last time led to 80% of my iPhone suddenly being occupied by "Other", and a full restore of the darn thing.)
