Video images and sound are out of sync

Hi, I'm new to videocasts so please forgive me. I have a few video podcasts that play fine in iTunes and in other iPods but audio and images become out of sync when I play it on my Nano. Does anyone have any suggestions?

What format were the original items ?
What frame rate are they in the original ?
What format are they on the AppleTV (H264 video AAC audio is the most common, but there are others) ?
What is the video frame rate now ?
Most out of syncs come from an imperfect attempt to encode for AppleTV. ie. DVD frame rate is 29.97fps. Many encode this to 30fps. So the movie plays 0.1% too fast, too little for you to notice, but at the end of a 100 minute film, the audio is 6 seconds out of sync with the video. Or 3 seconds on a 45 minute TV show.
Also check the source. I'd had DVDs (Alien Resurrection) jump 10 seconds out of sync in the middle of the movie. Back to the shop for that one.

The picture and sound my Apple TV are out of sync by several seconds. THese are on items that have been copied to Apple TV as opposed to streaming from iTunes. Anyone have experience with this? What's the solution?

Video and sound slightly out of sync when screen mirroring

When I start screen mirroring and play a video, then my macbook screen matches perfectly with the sound output from my stereo, but my tv is slightly delayed compared to my macbook which makes the sound and video out of sync. it is something like 1/10th or 1/20th a second, but it is extremely annoying.
Anyone has the same problem or knows how to solve this?

The video and audio are out of sync while watching movies with iTunes

Anyone know why iTunes is playing movies out of sync? I try to watch a movie on my pc with iTunes but the audio is faster then the video.
I have searched for an answer everywhere but haven't found one yet, so if someone could please help.

Repair your QuickTime.
Control Panel > Programs n Features > highlight QuickTime, click CHANGE then REPAIR

After months, my loops and metronome are out of sync

I searched but couldn't find this: added some tracks to a metronome track, played them back and they are way off. I've recorded hundreds of tracks and they sync up no problem, added loops, still no problem. What could I have done to make everything out of sync? I can't record anything now.
Must be simple thing but 'sync' in HELP search produces nothing. Not sure what to look for.

Been awhile- thanks for your reply. It just happened again. I moved a drum loop, changed the tempo. Then I added tracks and they are not syncing up with the drum loop. Each subsequent track appears to be in the same tempo as the drum loop.

Unstable video image and sound

Basically, I use the ichat mainly with one particular buddy(most of my friends are not using Mac) and I have my iMac of 10 months and it has been working fine but I jus moved last week and I have encountering problems. The connection on my side is fine, I can hear and see my buddy as before but on his end, the image and the voice are not stable, he can hear about 70% or less of what I say and the image is not stable either. We had a few ichat session after my relocation but not all sessions were bad. It is strange that I have no problem from my end and I do not understand why he has problem...but since he has problems(I can tell from his expressions that he cannot hear me sometimes), it is difficult to hold a conversation. Help, anyone?

If the problem exists after trying Defcom's suggestions can you tell us what his App is and what OS level he is on ?
If he is on XP at Service Pack 2 and is using AIM 5.9 there are some tweaks we (you and him) could try.

Video and audio are out of sync

I have the Dell Venue 8 pro tablet running 8.1. After downloading video from itunes, it plays fine but the audio and video quickly get out of snyc. Any ideas?

First thing to check is the audio rate:
Are 32 kHz clips going to an FCE 32 kHz Sequence?
If the exports are 48 kHz, is the Sequence matching at 48 kHz?
Seqeunce settings are governed by the Easy Setup chosen when you start a Project.

If you want to merge Apple ID's - you can't do that. For reasons unknown, Apple just doesn't allow it. Passwords are are different story. You should be able to reset your password for any other the ID's that you have.
Do you have multiple Apple ID's? And if this situation is that much of a mess, you might be better off contacting Apple in order to get it straightened out.

Transport Directory and queue are out of sync after the restore

Hi all
I got a DEV server. Running ECC6 on MAXDB over linux. One user deleted some tables and we restored the database. No file system is restored.
Now we are having issues with the transports as the tranport directory is the latest and database is having old data about 3 days old data.
I am not able to see the same objects that we released in the old transports before the restore neither I am able to re-import the transport.
Please let me know the best way to make this in sync with the file system transports available.

We restored the whole database. Nothing at the fie system level is restored. So Trans directory is having up to date work done (Released transports etc) but after the restore the information coming through the database is the old information. Even if we try to re-import the same transport it ends up in the error.

Changed destinaton for FRA - broker and SPFILE are out of sync.

I am on Oracle 10.2.0.4. I have Data Guard + RMAN + RMAN catalog. On the OS level my flashback recovery area was set up as */data/archive*. Everything was working fine. I then had to change this location (on the OS level) to */data/flashback*. I created pfile from spfile, made the corresponding changes in the pfile, made the change on the OS level, then started both db (primary and standby) with this pfile and then created spfile from pfile. Upon restart my primary would not come up - i.e. would stay in the mount mode. I see the following errors on primary:

I mean if I want to change something in SPFILE, like location of my archive logs, I have to delete and recreate broker configuration? Or is there an easier way?

What does one do when a newly purchased iPad is set up wrong at and Apple Store in Bellvue ,Wa.I now have 3 Apple ID's and all of my Apple iphones,MacBooks ,and iPads are out of sync ,not knowing which account is which I'm unable use any Apple products .

All and all I've spent 10 long days contacting ,calling ,chatting,and at the Genius Desk.When all Apple has to do is correct the mistake they consolidate all these account under my original account ,the e-mail ,credit card ,user name or all the same for these accounts .Why can't the Apple people figure this ,the under trained employ who rush thru this set of my iPad ,iCloud ,and accounts made mistakes and I want them fixed.I want 1 account 1password like I had the day I walk Into the Bellvue ,Wa. Even if you put a credit or debit card on file with iTunes it will still use your balance FIRST.
I would suggest putting a card on file and testing to see if it will allow you to make a purchase, then removing the card from the account after successful download of an item.

Audio & video are out of sync (help!)

Please help, all of a sudden, my video and audio in my timeline and browser are out of sync. In the timeline, some audio clips match w/ their video, some don't. What's up with that? I've been editing this timeline for weeks, I had no problem until TONIGHT. In the same timeline or sequence, some clips are out of sync w/ their audio. Could it be something to do with dropped frames? I have this window that comes up now (whereas it didn't before) and in red, it reads:
RT Extreme has determed dropped were caused by slow disks. Please try:
-increasing the speed of your disk (huh?)
-decreasing the number of RT layers
-Limiting your RT bandwidth in User Preference.
I'm totally perflexed. Please help.

I burned a tested DVD and the audio is fine. I guess the way I view was a bit misleading.

MY video disk has 150GB left, out of 250gb
my hard drive that has fcp has 120GB out of 300GB
do you know why my timeline keeps stopping and gives me this warning?

Sound goes out of sync in playback, why???

I have just bought the new MacBook Pro 13" with the i7 dual core 2.8
and bought Final Cut X from the app store - Im playing around with some footage shot on the Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ7
Ive put in a few edits with transitions, some titles and added sound effects.
In playback, the sound slowly goes out of sync! After only about 10 seconds...
The vision lags while the sound keeps going, there is some flickering, then its worse.
If I pause playback, then resume it resets...
Any ideas?

I have also experienced this. Not on every video. But on some videos.
The sync slowly drifts. Then hit pause and then play, and sure enough, the picture and sound are back in sync again.
This tells me that if you export ("share") the movie, the sound will be fine (it was for me). But it is unnerving to preview your work and see and hear the picture and sound drift out of sync like that.
I don't know the answer of why it happens (or how to remedy it), but my hunch is it has something to do with either not enough memory (or processing power), or a slightly underpowered video card. Just a guess.
I guess in any of those cases, the remedy would be to upgrade to a more powerful computer. :-(
