Video in Muse

Ok so I got Muse working and I am trying out my first site. I insert a full screen video widget and the client uses Mac’s and they tell me it will not show in their browser. Which is Safari btw. I am a windows guy and it plays fine in IE 11. I have my own Linux web server and do not use Biz Cat. So in Muse I export as html to my local computer with all the files and assets etc. I use Muse to add files for upload and it generates the html with all the goodies. Why does it fail for Mac users?  It is an mp4. Here is a test site I use until I get this fixed:http://baltimoregreenprint.com/ I tried to ftp publish in Muse but it fails. Any ideas? Thanks for help

Hi
I checked the site in safari/Mac and it works fine , I can see the video.
Please check if any plugin is installed in your clients browser which is preventing the video from playing.
If still same issue, please provide me the OS version with browser version details.
Regarding FTP issue, please check this thread :

  • Help with html code - inserting video into Muse

I am seeking help writing the code to insert a video into Muse. I uploaded video into my Business Catalyst hosting. I need it to autoplay, loop and not show any controls or frames.
When I host video on Vimeo or YouTube, I see markings on the video that is why I am trying to just host in the same place that the files are stored for my website. If there is a way to host on youtube with out any markings showing up on the video I would be open to that too.
I don't want to see any play button or time bar.
    Thanks in advance!!

    Hello,
Just as an FYI - we also have an HTML5 video tool over at MuseThemes.com that achieves this, but works on mobile devices as well. The link above looks like it uses Flash, which isn't common anymore since the release of HTML5 based video.
Simply drag the widget out onto your canvas, and link up your videos / set options like loop, controls visible, etc. It's quite a flexible widget, and there's a complete training video included so you don't get stuck
    Check out the widget here
Just wanted to provide another alternative that could be helpful. Cheers!

  • Embed a video in Muse?

Can I embed a video in Muse, and I can upload to ftp to the Internet?

Hello Mogens, The answer to the first part of your question is yes you can embed a video in a muse site. The code you isert as html which comes under the Object heading in the Menu. The video file or files must go in the Assets folder, File/ add files for upload. In your code you have to have your source as Assets. I have not got the hang of this forum business yet but will send my code under here in another answer. Mine was html 5 with no sound just a little animation but the code may be helpful to you. I am completely new to this game this is my first site but I have found Muse very good and the staff guys here a very helpful. I have not got as far as uploading to my server yet so I am afraid you will have to wait for someone else to answer that one. Hope this is helpful to you.

  • Any progress in ebedding video in Muse?

I am embedding video in Muse but wondering if there have been any recent improvements in the ability of Muse to handle video content. Last info on the forum was mid August 2012 that I am aware of.

Feel free to participate in Muse 7 beta program to gather an idea about upcoming features (refer to the announcement section on the forums home page).
    Thanks,

  • Urgent: YouTube videos crashing Muse - part 2

i apologise for starting a new thread on an existing topic but i really think its more urgent than acknowledged.
Youtube videos will crash Muse if loaded on Lightbox Display comp. Its not sufficient to load one or two videos into the lightbox. It will take several videos before Muse crashes. Once Muse has crashed it will crash more regulary until it's difficult to place even one video into the lightbox. It seem like Muse can't digest the embed code because after it has crashed and relaunched it will attempt to finish loading the video, sometimes it can, sometimes it can't and sometimes it just crashes again in the effort.
Vimeo on the other hand is not a problem. I can load 10 vimeo videos one after the other and they all play perfectly.
In both tests i used new sites and fresh pages. I downloaded (tried) YT at 480 x 360 and 640 x 360 checking only the privacy box and adding autoplay (&autoplay=1). I downloaded Vimeo videos at their default sizes and only checked autoplay. I load the embeds via Object/Insert HTML.
I'm on WIN 8 and 7, i7s. Using Muse CC v7.2 Build 232, CL 779928. Air Runtime: 4.0.0.1390. My default browser is Chrome. However, same problem with ie10.
It's very definately YouTube specific, as I thought!

THANK YOU! I didn't understand the youtube no poster mul ib but once I downloaded it and started playing around with it, it worked!
I was so discouraged, since the website I created was for my videoagraphy company and all we have is YOUTUBE videos!! (Major painic!) but after taking the time to look into it it worked great!
I also didnt have any problem changing the size or costumizing it.
    Here is what I did.
    I downloaded the http://lancetest01.businesscatalyst.com/assets/youtube---no-poster.mul ib
Thing and uploaded it to my 'Library' in Muse,
I then took the 'blank' composition and edit the 'targets to' the size I wanted and inserted the 'posters' (in my case screen shots of the video.
Then clicked 'show all while editing'
I dragged and dropped the youtube - no - poster thing from my library and added the player into my lightbox composition.
    and Et'viola!
I have a big library of video on my website. If anyone is curious here it is www.barrosproductionfilms.com
the youtube no poster thing is added in the 'Gallery' section.
Just to Clarify, I hope MUSE fixes this 'bug' problem, like others in this forum we are paying for a service to use MUSE and have all of the assets work, especially from one so big like youtube videos.
Thank you again and I hope this works for others!

  • Can I use MP4 video with Muse?

I was reading some old discussions, almost a year old, and am wondering about video in the latest version of CS6 Muse.
I have an MP4 file, which I suppose can be converted if need be, but can I embed video in Muse as opposed to only linking to YouTube?
Thanks in advance,  everyone here is extremely helpful...

Use HTML5 Video tag for the purpose of embedding a .mp4. Refer to the following thread for more details on this.

  • Replay video in Muse (some controls doesn't work)

    Hello colleagues,
Can't understand what is happening. I put a video in the Animate and assign controls for buttons (for example, replay video from 0:00 sec). For stage and video autoplay function are disabled.
Then I export the oam-file and insert it into the Muse with a Scroll Effect "Edge Animate" (Autoplay) to play the video at a certain point. Video starts correctly, but some controls doesn'n work, for example, "replay video". Along with this function "Toggle video play/pause" works correcly.
Actually, I want to loop video playback but it doesn't work in the Muse (Loop function for a video).
    Can anybody recommend a solution?
    Thanks!

    Hello Joe,
This is very interesting, but when I upload the project from Muse to my FTP-server, everything is working properly in all of browsers, all of controls and loop for the video clip. I found it by accident when I lost all hope. In other words, the problem is only when previewing the page in a browser (via the built-in local server). Maybe this is a question for the team Muse? Anyway I can send it in PM.
    Thanks for your reply,
    Alexander

  • Embedding video in Muse slideshow

Hello all, I am in desperate need of help here.
I am trying to recreate a slideshow as seen at www.montereybayaquarium.org, where the first "slide" is actually a short video. For the life of me I can't figure out how to do that in Muse or even if it's possible or not?
I have the video as an MP4 player and also as a youtube link to embed:
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mktgv0zWG0M&feature=youtu.be
Any and all help is very very much appreciated.
    thank you in advance!

    Hi Vinayak,

Is there a specific form in the Compositions I should be using?

  • Embedding video in muse

Can I embed a quicktime.mov which will auto play and loop on a webpage in Muse? Its a 30 sec video clip of a brick oven stove my clients want on a page for his new restaurant? Any help would be much appreciated Thank you...

    Hello,
You may want to upload it to a video hosting platform like youtube, vimeo etc.and put their embed code in Muse using the "Object -> Insert HTML" option in Muse.

  • Problem embedding video in Muse

After pasting embed code from You Tube in a Muse page, the video will play in Preview, but not when the site is exported to HTML. The page is blank. I also enabled "privacy enhanced mode" as suggested by Adobe. Any suggestions?

If you export your site and just open the HTML files in your browser, you'll be viewing the site over the 'file' protocol. Youtube embed code only works over the 'http' or 'https' protocol.
If you've uploaded/published your site and you're still having this problem over http, share the URL so we can check it out.

  • How to stream video in muse. the link cory provided may 2012 is unavailable

I need to stream video onto my muse site asap. Tried to click link provided by Cory back in May but it is unavailable.

Is that a Youtube video? If yes, and you would just like to embed it on one of your Muse pages, simply grab the embed code from youtube and paste it through Object -> Insert HTML option.
    Thanks,
    Vinayak

  • Chaptered video in Muse?

    Hi,
I’m using Muse to make a site with embedded video, which is intended to run off a CD. I can embed the video without too many problems as an mp4 – BUT – I’d like to link buttons in the interface to specific points in the video, a bit like chapter markers on a DVD interface.
Does anyone know if this is possible?
I can place chapter markers on the mp4 and they’re recognized by Quicktime when I play through that.
Therefore is there a way of setting Quicktime as the default player that runs through Muse?
    Any help much appreciated!
    K

    Hi Kingsley,
This is something that Muse can't control. Quicktime would be a browser extension, so only the users who has configured his browser to play videos using Quicktime will be able to pick the markers that you have created.
I am afraid what you are looking for is not possible to achieve via Muse at this stage.

  • Video in Muse Page

I want to add a .mov or m4v file to a Muse page locally.
    thanks

Thanks for the links Aish, sorry for not being be more precise.
Firstly, the video I´d like to implement is on my own server hosted (one reason why I don´t use vimeo or youtube)
The second thing is I´d need also some kind of player for the video with a Play, Stop, Pause, etc. button not just the video on the page actually like video embedding via the widget works but without the necessity of a vimeo/youtube account.
Can that be accomplished with muse (without a big workaround)?
