Video in Photoshop CS6

Sorry if this is the wrong place to ask but I have just started to try something using video in CS6.
I have 82 sequential images and I am trying to string them together as a sort of stop motion film (think the intro to the Monkeys).
I have done the following:
1. Opened Bridge and selected all of the images
2. From the tools menu I selected the Photoshop sub-menu and then selected load as separate layers in Photoshop.
3. This (unsurprisingly) opened the files as a single .psd with all the images on different layers - with the newest image being at the bottom.
4. I clicked on Timeline and then selected Create video timeline which put all of the clips into the same 5 second space on my time line.
5. I selected all of the images and then by clicking on the small filmstrip icon I selected "New Video group from clips"
So What I am left with is a sequence of all 82 images but with the following problems.
1. All of the clips are 5 seconds long and I want them to be about 1/10 of a second.
2. For some reason the files in the video clip show the most recent first and the oldest last - I would like them the other way round.
I know that I can select all of the clips and then move the play head to approx 1/10 of a second and split the clips. This works except I have to go through and manually delete the bits I don't want which is tedious enough for a video with 82 images but I am planning on longer projects, doing it manually would be a nightmare.
Also I could probably re-order the images manually but I am sure that there must be an easier.
As I said I am very new to all of this so any help would be much appreciated.
Cheers
John

Have you tried using the Open as Sequence function?

  • Trying to edit video but Photoshop cs6 wont open the files.

Trying to edit video but Photoshop cs6 wont open the VOB  files.  I tried to change the extension to AVI and then drag it in.  It works but it's distorted.  All the heads in the photo are narrow and tall.  Can anyone help me figure this thing out?  I'm sooo frustrated!  Thanks

I assume these came from a DVD? Was this DVD an encrypted holywood DVD or a home video that you got of something like sky diving? You'll probably need photoshop extended to switch pixel aspect ratios. Or convert them into a format that photoshop understands with a 1.0 pixel aspect ratio. Do you have access to adobe media encoder?

  • Cant hear audio when editing a video in photoshop cs6

IM EDITING A VIDEO FOR THE 1ST TIME IN PHOTOSHOP CS6. However when I play it I dont hear any audio. Its not muted either

    Hello,
I found this in the Adobe help files...
    "About video layers
You can use Photoshop to edit individual frames of video and image sequence files. In addition to using any Photoshop
tool to edit and paint on video, you can also apply filters, masks, transformations, layers styles, and blending modes.
After making edits, you can save the document as a PSD file (that can be played back in other Adobe applications such
as Premiere Pro and After Effects or accessed as a static file in other applications), or you can render it as a QuickTime
    movie or image sequence.
Note: You can work only with the visual images in a video file, not the audio."

  • Editing a video in Photoshop cs6

    Hello All
I'm using Photoshop cs6 version 13.0.1 x64. I saw that Is it possible to edit videos. My question, Is there a possibility that we can change the background of a video in order to create a green screen video?
    Regards
    Panos

Green screen videos are made by merging two video one of which has been captured/filmed with a green background.  The green background  is removed from that video which is overlayed onto the other video the other video becomes the background replacing what was green. So I believe the you would need a video plug-in the remove the green.  I do not do video editing.  Adobe Premiere Pro is a video editor and there is Adobe After Effects there is where I would expect to to find a green screen plugin or filter.

  • Import MPEG-2 video into PhotoShop CS6

Does anyone know why I can not import MPEG-2 video file into PH CS 6?

    Hi there -
Do you have any other Adobe programs installed? Photoshop CS6 can only open MPEG-2 video files if a decoder is installed, such as Premiere Pro or After Effects.
See this Adobe Help article for more information about supported files types in Photoshop CS6: http://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/using/supported-file-formats-photoshop-cs6.html

  • I can't import videos into Photoshop CS6?

I just ripped a whole load of Doctor Who episodes, and I have been wanting to make .gifs of them, but every time I try to import them into Photoshop (file > import > video frames into layers (how I normally make gifs)), I get a message saying, "Could not complete the video frames to layers command because the file could not be opened". I don't know why this is happening, because Photoshop normally opens .avi files and all I want is to make .gifs of these Doctor Who episodes.

You should open your Dr. Who episode in adobe flash or premier pro. Probably you need to covert it. You could use the adobe media encoder. Photoshop cs6 has "intuitive Video creation" and you have to bring in the video as a mp3. I never tried it   As Photoshop is an image editing app and not created to open Video files so you could probbably use Premiere to export the individual frames and then open those in Photoshop.

  • No Way to disable audio from Video in Photoshop CS6

I have a video clip that has an audio track that I want to remove, however it seems that the track specific "mute or unmute audio track" and "Disable Audio Playback" buttons only affect playback inside of Photoshop and do not affect the exported output. Am I missing something or is this the designed effect of these buttons? Is there a way to remove the audio track in the current build of Photoshop CS6 without going to something like Premiere Pro?
    Thank you,

  • Exporting video from Photoshop CS6 leaves background grey where it should be white.

On export of an animation from Photoshop, the rendered video has a grey background where it should be white. We have tried multiple settings and documents and nothing we've tried works?
Does anyone know what might cause this. Using CS6.
    Thanks.

    There is no app.
It is the camera.  Just take video with the camera.

  • Tool Recording over video in Photoshop CS6?

Is it possible to record a paintbrushes movments while playing live video? I was planning on animating some sections frame by frame but it would be much better (and easier for me) if I could simply record the paint brushes action while the video was in motion. Is such a thing possible?

Hello, in CS6, you can select "ALLOW TOOL RECORDING" in the Action panel's menu, but I'm not sure it could work on a video.
After effects can record brush strokes, or play animated strokes on a path: http://tv.adobe.com/watch/creative-cow-after-effects-tutorials/paint-stroke-morph/

  • Editing Video in Photoshop CS6

I have several hours of video aerials shot with a JVC GY-HM750U camera. The camera creates a .MOV video file. Great looking stuff but I have some lens dirt showing up in everything. I upgraded from CS5 to CS6 because I saw a tutorial demonstrating how to use smart layers and the dust and scratches filter to get rid of the problem. Still working on the best settings for the filter to best take care of the problem. But when I exported a test clip in an H.264 or QuickTime format, both rendered files only played part way through then the image froze but the progress bar in the player kept moving. The image changed abruptly to somewhere down the clip and then ended. I also edit all other video in FCP6. When I import the .MOV file into FCP it behaves the same. Can anyone offer any help? Thanks.

PS corrupts certain MOV files and encodes them wrongly. That's a known issue and regular concern on the video apps forums. Render image sequences. Mr. Pfaffenbichler has a point of course - only do in PS, what you can't do in AE or elsewhere, if you have access to these tools.

  • Preivew video in photoshop cs6

how do I get photoshop to "render to ram" so I can preview changes in realtime?

    splutter
Ok I seem to remember that in cd5 you could force it to play frame at a time then skip the playhead back to watch a section.  Even with skip frames unticked cs6 still skips frames.  IS this a bug or am I doing something wrong

  • How does one apply adjustments such as Rubber Stamp and Sharpening to Video in Photoshop CS6?

I'm trying to apply a rubber stamp to my entire clip but it will only last one frame.
    Same if I sharpen.
I though I was supposed to convert the layer to a Smart Object but once I do that I can no longer use the Rubber Stamp.
And if I Rasterize the layer, the video will no longer play at all and remain stuck on one frame.
I'm sure there is something simple I'm missing here. I see in After Effects, they are all Keyframeable but can't figure this out in PS.

Seems like converting the layer to a Smart Object sort of works but once I do I can't play the footage

  • Import DVD as editable video in PhotoShop CS6

Is this possible? If not, are developers planning to make this into a new feature for the shipping version?

Hello, unless I misunderstand you, I don't know many users who would edit their own DVD rather than the files that created them. Per the copyright laws, you are not supposed to edit somebody else's movie...
