Video iPod Shows 1777 GB, Shows it's Full of "Other"...

iTunes shows it has music on board, but when I eject and try to see the music. There's nothing there. Anyone seen this issue before?

This sounds like a problem of drive letter confusion on your computer.
Try assigning your iPod a different drive letter, following the instructions in this articke:
Windows confuses iPod with network drive or hard drive
Also, a restore on your iPod might be worth a try, also.

    Hi pbworth,
When troubleshooting issues with iPod classic, it may be helpful to place the iPod into Disk Mode. For information on how to do so:

  • Video Ipod showing multiple photo's

I imported my videos and music fine onto my 30gb video ipod. However when i did the same for my photos, it displayed 3 or 4 of the same photo for every photo.
    Please Help,
    It's really annoying!!

I have the same problem, but i beleive it is because I have some of the same photos in my picture folder as i have in my iphoto libary. so when I import from my picture folder it will import everything in the picture folder, and of course the whole iphoto libary, becase this is in the pictures folder. so i figued this is why i had 2 or 3 of everything. are you importing from your pictures folder or iphoto libary? cos if its from pictures folder your probably having the same problem as me. trouble is don't know how to delete the extra photos off my ipod, can anyone help?

  • 30gb video ipod showing incorrect storage capacity

    Hi,
I have a 30gb ipod. When I connect the ipod & open itunes or ipod updater, the ipod appears with an incorrect storage capacity.
The updater shows all other information correctly, except for Capacity, which shows at 65.0GB
With nothing on the ipod, Itunes shows used: 4.49GB, free: 58.99GB. If I try to transfer any files I get a message saying that there is not enough free space to transfer the files.
I have restored to factory settings, re-installing all software, changing usb ports etc but nothing seems to have helped...
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks,
    Matt.

  • My classic video ipod won't switch back to regular video mode after using it on an elliptical. The port still allows me to charge and works on the elliptical and treadmill but it will no longer change modes to allow me to watch my shows on the ipod screen

My classic video ipod won't switch back to regular video mode after using it on an elliptical. The port still allows me to charge and works on the elliptical and treadmill but it will no longer change modes to allow me to watch my shows on the ipod screen

From the iPod's Main Menu choose Videos -> Settings and make sure TV Out is set to Off.
Otherwise, try a hard reset as well.  To do this, press and hold both the Select (Center) and Menu buttons together long enough for the Apple logo to appear.

  • IPod-Video-80Gig No longer plays movies, videos, TV shows (older shows)

What gives, only 6 months ago the videos played just fine...then I begin having a host of problems (started with the death of the battery at the ripe old age of 8 months). This $400 video iPod had played the few movies and TV shows I purchased...and it will play the audio of them...but will no longer play the video portion. I've tried the resetting (holding the MENU plus CENTER buttons at same time). No go still. I haven't played the movies/videos in a while; but now I'm going on a roadtrip and wanted to take them with me to watch on the plane. So sad. Any help anyone can pass along would be rightly appreciated!

OMI...my daughter had told me she was "fiddling" with the settings and wouldn't you know, she changed the VIDEO SETTINGS "TV Out from Off to On." Word to people with kids...tell them to step away from the iPod.

  • 30G video iPod won't show on desktop or in iTunes

    Powerbook G4, 10.4.8, iTunes 7.0.1
30G Video iPod, connected by USB cable -- oh so frustrated! Big trip coming up and can't put any of my audible books on my iPod!
This seems to have started after I upgraded iTunes to 7.0, is this source of my problem?
Suddenly I plugged in my iPod and it won't show up on the desktop, iTunes or Disk Utility
    Things I've tried:
Reset iPod, (can't restore the iPod, since no application or utility will recognize it), did all upgrades to iTunes, unplugged all usb ports, repaired all permissions, tried plugging it into another Mac G5 and it wouldn't show up there either.
It plugs into my power source from the electrical outlet and is fully charged, and plugs into my car radio via a monster cable just fine, just won't connect to a computer.
Please, I'll try anything. Thanks so much for your help.

It's probably too late for your trip but if you're still having the problem try it.

  • Video Files Not Showing Up On 30GB Video iPod

I bought a few television show episodes directly from iTunes, but my 30GB Video iPod is not recognizing the files. They show up, as well as play, in iTunes, but they aren't shown in the "Video" section of my iPod.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

With the ipod connected, in itunes, goto edit>preferences>ipod tab>Video sub tab and set it to update videos you want "AUto update ALL" or "AUto update SELECT"

  • How do I get music videos, tv shows, and movies from my iTunes onto my iPod touch?

I just bought the 32 G iPod touch bc I read online that the 8G holds 2000 songs plus other stuff and the 32G holds 8000 songs plus more. I have 3000 songs on my iTunes and for some reason it said it won't hold more than 2600. Also I can't figure out to put the music videos, tv shows, and movies from my iTunes synced onto my iPod touch. Help?

The advertised number of songs an iPod can hold is based on set factors such as the encoding for each song and the length for each song.
Transferring movies is selected under the Movies tab for your iPod sync preferences with iTunes.
Transferring TV Shows is selected under the TV Shows tab for your iPod sync preferences with iTunes.
Include Music Videos is selected under the Music tab for your iPod sync preferences with iTunes.

  • 160GB iPod classic video not showing videos on my TV

Need help please...I am connecting my iPod to my TV using the home dock, I can play music but it won't show me the videos...keeps giving the message "TV Out Enabled" please coonect Video Accessory...well everything is connected but I still can't view video
Can you please help me figure this out. What am I missing?

I just encountered the same problem. I bought a new Onkyo receiver / and new IPOD dock a month ago. I had a two year old 60G Video IPOD which worked with it, but since I was running out of space - I made the mistake of upgrading to a new 160G Classic. If I want to use it with my TV, I guess I'll need to buy even more cables or docks from Apple. I read that no dock (not even Apple's) lets you use all the remote control features so it will be a manually controlled wiring kludge.
I've contacted Onkyo, but I note in their manual that the Classic is not covered, so I'm sure they won't be of much help.

  • Why is it taking so long to download a TV show to my Video iPod

I recently purchased a video iPod and am downloading my first tv show. It's an hour long show and it's been downloanding for close to an hour. Should it take this long?

Assuming you are downloading from itunes, yes it can, it really depends on several things, the network, your connection speed, your download speed. I have had it take close to two hours at times to download a tv show and at others only about 30 minutes.

  • 30 GB video iPod doesn't show up on my new Dual Core G5...help!

    Hello
I'm trying to connect my 30GB video iPod to my new Dual Core 2.0 GHz G5, but nothing comes up on the desktop or iTunes. The icon on the iPod just shows the charging symbol...
this G5 is NOT connected to the Internet, however I just updated the iPod software on another computer...I tried bringing over the latest iPod Updater from the other computer, but this doesn't work either...
Is there anything I can do to get this to work?!
    Thank you
