Video ipod turning itself on at random, even when "hold" is on
My 30GB 5th generation iPod has started randomly turning on and playing an unspecified playlist of random songs (usually about 200-300 song playlists). It's not playing any playlist that's actually on my ipod, but is completely random. It will do this even if the hold switch is on, and occasionally it's even switched to one of these mystery playlists while I was listening to something else! It also wears down my battery, which is extremely annoying. Is this happening to anyone else? Should I restore it? If anyone has any insight, I would definitely appreciate it. Thanks!

IPhone 3GS randomly turns itself on and off, even when charging
My iPhone 3GS 8GB keeps turning itself on and off randomly like every 5 minutes. It does this even when charging. I've had my phone for a year and haven't had any real problems out of it until now. It died on me last night so I plugged it into my charger. It came on then 5 mins later went off by itself and turned back on. It did this all night. I finally unplugged it to see if that had something to do with it, but it didn't. Anyone have any insight on this or ideas on how to fix this? I'd really appreciate it!

I have a new iPod classic 160gb. From time to time, the iPod turns itself off while playing, but only while in a speaker dock. This has happened in two different docks, including the Bose SoundDock and the Griffin Journi. Somewhere midway through a song, the music stops, the backlight comes on, it goes into charging mode. If I hit play, it continues as if nothing has happened.
I don't have a problem listening through headphones, anyone else see this?Add me to this list.
Along with the frustrating, well known and widely shared iTunes freezing issues, my (second, first one returned)silver 160GB classic also experiences this 'shutoff' in my iHome dock. I haven't had this issue with my DLO Homedock deluxe, but when in my iHome speaker dock playback starts fine but then just shuts off midway through a song when it feels like it, then like was said, goes to the charging battery screen. So, this new iPod has made iTunes, old video docks and now even my iHome dock worthless. I've really begun to question the intellegence of this 'upgrade'. -

when i try to reset my ipod it stops at 10minutes and the ipod turns itself on and acts like ive done nothing to it, it has been stuck on the "connect to itunes screen" and it wont reset. why?

You have to then connect the iPod to your computer and restore via iTunes. Are you doing that? -
why does adobe premier elements render my video everytime i change something in it even when i have lots more of the video to edit? other editing software only seems to render at the start then lets you edit until your ready to save at the end. Constant rendering means its almost impossible to edit anything. Please help.

What version of Premiere Elements and on what computer operating system is it running? It will not influence my answer but will give me information in case I need to get into version specifics to detail my answer further.
Timeline rendering is a preview matter. It does not fix anything, but it is your window of opportunity to catch of problem sooner than latter. If the Timeline rendering indicator displays orange (11 or higher) for the line above the Timeline content, that is the project telling you that you are not getting the best possible preview of the playback of that content in the Edit area monitor. And, every time you edit a file, you have altered the file from the time before. So, if you want to see the best possible for what you now have, you Timeline render. This is particularly helpful when you are dealing with titles, effects, transitions, and non native formats. You cannot turn off the Timeline render indicator system, at least none that I have ever found nor seen reported. You can do selective Timeline rendering by having the gray tabs of the Work Area Bar span only the Timeline segment that you want Timeline rendered.
Consequently, you either ignore the Timeline render indicator system, move on in the project, and take your chances in the outcome or you Timeline render to get your best possible preview if the Timeline render indicator is suggesting that you do so.
I am not approving or disapproving of this project feature, just commenting on the what is.

Add On...it is also possible to do Timeline rendering in a project, save close the project, and reopen it to find your previously "green" lined content now "orange", indicating unrendered. Yet the preview files generated originally by Timeline rendering are still existing in their hard drive save location. That is another story for other time. -
itunes launches itself and starts playing even when my laptop is closed, but I can still hear it. I can't figure out how to keep it from doing that.

hi i use an old black 60G photo/video ipod. Suddenly it won't recharge, when connected to the pc it emits several cicks in serires and then it shows at intervals a low battery signs and another sign, a sad faced ipod icon with the apple support email address. I am having essentialy the same problem, but my iPod came from a PC and is now on a PC. The person who gave me the iPod didn't give me the wall adapter piece, so I bought a "Griffin" brand that was said to be compatible with this model. When I first plugged it into the wall, the Apple appeared with a bar underneath as though it was loading the new software. When the bar got to the end, the "plug into the wall" icon reappeared, but when I plug it in to the wall now, that icon is the only thing that shows, even after resetting and trying to run diagnostics.
When I doc the iPod on a charger I have or plug the USB into my computer and "reset" it, a battery with a charge icon appears, but there is no "motion" in the icon so it doesn't appear to be charging. The screen eventually goes back to the apple then to the "plug it into the wall" icon. HELP!!! Is is possible the wall adapters isn't the right one? Should I be charging through a firewire cable instead (which I also don't have...)?

somehow changed a video in my imovie to zero fps, so it just plays black. The video still exists on my desktop but even when I delete the files from imovie and reimport them the file is still in zero fps and play black.
I'm not sure of your question.
Are you asking how to use Photoshop?
Or are you asking for the dimensions of video iMovie uses?
It edits in 720P HD, which is 1280x720.
You can make it a bit bigger so you can zoom in.

Turn your phone off and connect your cable to the computer, but not the device just yet. Start up iTunes. Now, hold down the home button on your phone and plug it in to the cable - don't let go of the button until iTunes tells you it's detected a phone in recovery mode. Now you can restore to factory settings.

Did you try unplugging the unit from power, leaving it for ten minutes, then plugging in again?

I have tried numerous times to restart my macbook pro to get to the startup manager. And even when holding down the option key, it will just take me back to the flashing file with a question mark in it. If anyone can help, I'd sincerely appreciate it.
Reinstall Lion, Mountain Lion, or Mavericks without erasing drive
Boot to the Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Repair
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported then click on the Repair Permissions button. When the process is completed, then quit DU and return to the main menu.

The Ipod on my 3GS turns itself on randomly. I went to the apple store and was instructed to restore the software as a backup. I did that and the problem continued. I went back and was told I had to restore as a new phone. I did and still had the problem. I went back and was given a new phone...still have the problem!
