Video issues on the display of a MBP 17

Hello,
The display on my MBP 17 is not operating properly. Before I contact Apple I thought I would seek some advice.
The display bottom half is all video garbled, but upper half is working properly. When I close the lid placing the computer in 'sleep' mode and reopen, the display works perfectly for awhile. Then returns to acting up but there is no rhyme or reason for length when it returns to acting up.
Any ideas?
Thank you,
Reed

There is a little white bar. When you have your TV connected, move the white bar to the other display. Your main desktop is now the TV screen

    Hello, @gunnyswife1719
    Welcome to the HP Forums.
It seems that you're getting a bsod error about the graphics. I will try to assist you with this.
    Start with updating the graphics.
    AMD High-Definition (HD) Graphics Driver
If that doesn't work, you can try using the HP Recovery Manager to reinstall the factory default drive.

  • Issue with the display on MBP 15" with anti-glare screen

    Hi Everyone,
my MBP 15" is only 7 months old, so I need to dig the warranty info out.
However, I am curious to know whether anyone else has experienced a similar issue with their screen.  Mine has developed a series of small shadows at the bottom of the screen, it almost looks like a theatre stage!!
Has anyone else had this problem?

Many people have. It's a fault in the display backlight. Have it repaired while your machine is still under warranty.

  • Exported video, issues with the PAT/PMT

We are trying to export video for use on a cable TV system.  When I try to bring the video into the system, it fails with the follwing error.....
Import Failed: (FAIL: Unable to find a valid PAT, PMT, or PID described in the PAT/PMT)
We have tried to export the video as an .mpg, and .avi, and a .ts file.  I am not sure if this is a Codec issue or if there is a setting htat is being missed when we are exporting the file.
Has anyone had an issue like this and if so what was the solution?
Thank you in advance for your time.

I have no idea what those parameters are, but I'm pretty sure there are no user setting in any Adobe software to control them.

  • Video used for the display models

Does anyone happen to have a link to the video Apple/stores use for their iPads? You know the videos they display using the 'Demo' app showing what the iPad does and ect. It's also looped I believe?

I've seen that demo video running on all of the Macs in the store myself. While I'd like to have it too, I'm sure it's proprietary. Searching for it may be frustrating too...

  • My Ipod has frozen!  Video frame on the display, nothing funtions!  Help?

I was watching a video, then stopped it, pushing the pause/play button put it to sleep. A few minutes later wanted to watch the rest, and when I plugged in the headphones, suddenly the image appeared, played a few frames, and now the video is "stuck" on that frame! And it won't turn off, none of the buttons do anything! I plugged it into the computer, - nothing, nada.
    Any ideas?

    See this.
    How to reset the iPod.
It may take quite a few attempts and is best done connected to power.
If this doesn't work, try restoring the iPod to factory settings.
Put the iPod into disk mode first.

  • How can i stream my powerpoint presentation with audio video content to the display devices

i wanted to stream my Power point presentation with audio/video content inserted in between the slides how can i achieve this requirements
is there any harware or software available for this
    Please let me know
    Thanks

This is not a straightforward procedure. I normally take the exported PPt file onto a windows machine and import the video files into PPt before sending to a client
Once the folder is copied to windows, the video files have to be imported  again manually to relink the files as they loose the link in the export
Check that the video files are copied into the same folder as the Powerpoint file
The only file types playable from Powerpoint in widows are:   mpeg   wmv   avi
Use wmv for  best quality and compatibility

  • IPad and Itouch videos - issues

Question 1: I bought videos using my pc and downloaded to my itouch.  Now when I click on some of the videos, I get the display "cannot connect to wi-fi". But I do have internet and am connected.  I don't know why it is saying this. Some of them I can play.  Also, how do I know i have the video on the itouch and not just in the cloud?
Question 2: I then purchased an Ipad. I tunes music transferred to Ipad but the videos are not transferred. How do you  transfer videos to an Ipad?
    Thank you.

Here's the master page for all of Verizon's apps. Right now only the Media Manager app is available for iPad.
In order to view your personal media, it must first be uploaded to your FlexView Library. This can be done using the Media Manager application on your PC or Mac.
The Media Manager iPad app also allows you to stream Flex View movies and TV shows you have purchased from Verizon, whether you bought it on your set-top-box, PC or phone. In other words, it also serves as the FiOS On Demand app.

  • Editing the display time for grouped objects

Hello, I am having issues editing the display time for grouped items. I am using Captivate 7 and I love how now the grouped items only show as one item in the timeline because it reduces the number of rows visiblein the timeline for each object on a slide. However, now that the grouped objects no longer individually appear in the timeline, I can't make any display adjustments to the grouped objects as a whole.
Has anyone else had this issue and is there a work around? My main issue is that if I have to extend or shorten the audio for the slide, and I have assigned an advanced action to the grouped object, in order to adjust the grouped object to match the audio, I have to now ungroup, make the adjustment, regroup, then reset the advanced action using the new group name. It is frustrating and time consuming.

To expand and view the grouped items on the timeline, you need to click the Arrow symbol next to the group name. Once you expand, you can select the individual object and adjust the timings.
Alternatively, you can select the individual object of the group on the slide and adjust the timings from the Timing accordion. You can do this without ungrouping.

  • Reporting an audio/video issue with a TV show from a Season Pass? How?

I would like to report some audio/video issues with the latest The Unit and The Seeker episodes but I can't find them in my Purchase History??? I own a Season Pass for both. Any idea how to do it? I'm lost. Thanks!

Is this the lack of audio on "Shadow Riders"? I've just got to that episode, and I tried to report the problem, but the whole series of hoops you have to jump through seems to have changed. Rather than get to the page where you add comments for the problems, it merely sends you to an internet link on apple that has no bearing on the problem.
If you open your account information (store > View my account) you can click your purchase history there. The theory is that you find your program, click the arrow next to it, then click "report a problem" and it should allow you to enter a comment, or the problem... Anyone else having this troubvle?

  • How bright is the display and difference between MacBook Pro

I have not decided which MacBook/Pro I will buy. An issue is the display. The display of my old 500Mhz G3 ibook looks quite dim compared to external displays.
Usual you find the specs for the brightness (eg 300cd/m2) and contrast ratio's (1:800) in the technical data sheets. However, I couln't find this information for the MacBook or MacBook Pro. Does anyone know this values and how do they compare to iMac or the Apple Display (I still have the feeling that external displays are much brighter).
My second question is, how compares the MaBook display to the MacBook Pro (glossy), besides the different size. I will definite go for a Pro in case the display of the Pro is much better.
    Many thanks

    Hello Friends,

1)How Did you tune Query, Use EXPLAIN PLAN to see exactly where it is spending its time, and address those areas.
    See the forum FAQ
    SQL and PL/SQL FAQ
"3. How to improve the performance of my query?"
2)What approach you take to tune query? Do you use Hints?Hints can help.
Even more helpful is writing the SQL efficiently (avoiding multiple scans of the same table, filtering early, using built-in rather than user-defined functions, ...), creating and using indexes, and, for large tables, partitioning.
Table design can have a big impact on performace.
Look for ways to do part of what you need before the query. This includes denormalizing (when appropriate), the kind of pre-digesting that often takes place in data warehouses, function-based indexes, and, starting in Oracle 11, virtual columns.
3)Where did you tune the query and what are the issue with query?Either this question is a vague summary of the entire thread, or I don't understand it. Can you re-phrase this part?
4)What is difference between RBO and CBO? where u use RBO and CBO.Basically, use RBO if you have Oracle 7 or earlier.

  • MacBook Pro 2008 display issue (see the photo)

As you can see in the picture below, my 15" MBP Early 2008 started to experience this kind of issue. Sometimes it goes away if I close the lid or with a restart. I've already tried the PRAM reset with no long-term results.
My Mac had the nvidia 8600M GT issue so I got the logic board replaced. At the Apple Store the technician said this problem has nothing to do with the video card... maybe the display? Anyway, I'd like to have your opinion about this and some possible solutions.
    Thank you!

What you've pictured is a disaply backlight LED problem — it looks as though half of yours aren't lit. They're integrated into the LCD panel, and this issue is not related in any way to the replacement of your logic board. You may want to reset your computer's SMC and see whether that resolves the problem:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3964
If it doesn't, I'm afraid you're in for another repair, and this one will be on your dime unless you still have a little AppleCare coverage left.

  • Is Heat an issue on the new MBP's?

I have the first generation MBP's and my laptop gets ridiculously hot (120 degrees+)
Has anyone experienced excess heat issues on the new 2.2 and 2.4's that just came out?
Anything else that I should be concerned about?
    Thanks

Due to some display issues on my old MBP 2.33 they just upgraded mine(I bought it within the 14 day return period) to the new LED 2.4ghz. This one runs substantially cooler and the fans do not come on nearly as much. An example: Usually when I play any HD videos on the 2.33 the fans would kick it in to high gear until the video was finished...now they didn't even come on. Also the display is great...apple might be down playing the new LED's but put it this way I am never going back to fluorescent.
