Video-iweb-fetch-godaddy. Videos on site play on PC, not on Mac. Ideas?????

I have created a website with video in Iweb. I used Fetch to upload it to godaddy. The site, including videos work flawlessly when viewing from a PC. When viewing from a Mac, the entire site works however the videos will not play. You can see the video window and what appears to be the progress bar indicating that the video is loading. When you hit the play button...nothing. In fact the entire player interface fails to function. I am not able to operate the sound button, the menu button, etc.
Does anyone have any ideas.

UPDATE
OK I have discovered that it is purely the interface with the player. I was able to get the videos to play & pause on my Mac by double clicking right on the player screen. Once playing, I was also able to use right and left (home & end) buttons to frame by frame.
I am going to need to get this interface working though.
Any insight from anyone?

[SOLVED]suddenly video playback in youtube(and similar sites) playing

in fast mode, and with no sound at all.
i didn't change anything as far as i know, in my system, except from updating it from time to time(my system is up to date).
the problem occurres in firefox and chrome.
there is no problem with the sound and video, if i play a video in vlc(it plays well).
i tried to restart the computer, and the problem still exist.
i don't know what to do.

problem solved.
i went to settings -> sound (in gnome).
the output was changed to something else(don't know why), so i changed it to: line out - built-in audio, and now everything working :-)

Iweb/fetch/godaddy hosting-not loading

Need help. I designed my website on iweb and bought hosting thru godaddy, used fetch for FTP--tried to load the site and it wouldn't appear when I went to my site. I asked godaddy support for help. Here's how they answered:
Currently your index.html page is loading, but the code on this page is redirecting to remakeyourplace.com/REMAKE YOUR PLACE.html. You will need to add this page, or change the coding on your site. Unfortunately, we do not provide technical support with third-party scripting issues. You may wish to consult with a community forum online or do a search on your favorite search engine as other users may have encountered a similar problem in the past and may offer helpful solutions.We thank you for your understanding in this matter.
Can someone tell me in simple terms how to solve this problem? Obviously I have no idea what I'm doing, I just want to get my website up and running.I could really use the help. thx

That does not sound correct. The instructions tell you to upload two items: the folder which has the same name as you gave your site inside the iweb app, plus the index.html file which iWeb creates alongside that folder. The folder also has an index.html inside it, and that is fine, but in your server space you must be able to see two separate items, one file called index.html and one folder with the name you gave your site.
To avoid possible confusion, try publishing to your desktop, so you can clearly see the index.html file and folder which iWeb creates and which both need to be uploaded.

If an iPod can play it, why not my Mac?

I can understand that my 533MHz G4 is getting long in the tooth, but I gotta think it's got way more processing power than an iPod. So how come the iPods can play the new hi-res videos but anything less than a 1GHz G4 can't keep up?

Macbook Pro won't play any videos on any browser or any site

Videos on youtube, tumblr, facebook, amazon instant, netflix and any other video I come across will not play and will not even start to load on my macbook pro. I have uninstalled and reinstalled flash, I have cleared all website data, I have cleared my history, I downloaded chrome (and the problem did not change on the new browser), I have restarted my computer multiple times, and nothing seems to work. Has this happened to anyone else? Does anyone know how to fix it?

I would, first of all, try another browser. If you don't already have it, try Firefox, if it works ok in Firefox I would try resetting Safari.(uncheck "remove saved names and passwords" if you don't have them written down anywhere)

Since update some sites do not show the pics of video you want to watch. Blocked somehow? video plays but can not see what video is till you play

Reload the webpage while bypassing the cache using '''one''' of the following steps:
*Hold down the ''Shift'' key and click the ''Reload'' button with a left click.
OR
*Press ''Ctrl'' + ''F5'' or ''Ctrl'' + ''Shift'' + ''R'' (Windows and Linux)
*Press ''Command'' + ''Shift'' + ''R'' (Mac)

IWeb 08, Publish Videos, Navigation Bar link stops working. Why?

In iWeb, I am building a site with that includes two movie pages, each has a video (QT H.264, 640x280, medium quality). One movie per page. When I publish to a folder, I test both with Safari and Firefox. Each displays the same problem. When I click on the navigation bar link and go to the first video, the navigation bar ceases to work after I'm on the movie page. I can play the video, but I have to browser back because the navigation bar doesn't highlight, rollover, or anything. Both browsers exhibit this. Thanks.

Make sure you don't have any other objects overlapping the navbar.

there are three displays in photos page:
1) thumbnails grid - smallest
2) deatial view and detail view slideshow - large
3a) pop-up slideshow - vary - this is slideshow.html
3b) or iphone/ipad slideshow phoneshow.html - iphone/ipad can't do pop-up
it's difficult to know which you refer to.
if you refer to pop-up slideshow then you should not look into iwebmediagrid.js as wyodor suggested.
instead look in phoneshow.html and change width and heigth of element id slideshow:

MacBook Pro / Mozilla Firefox / Netflix / Silverlight Update solved - DON'T DWNLOAD FROM NETFLIX
I solved this problem tonight. I have a MacBook Pro with 10.5.8. I know, it's old. But I love my Netflix and I recently noticed that Firefox plays Netflix much better. Then I suddenly got this message that I needed to download the latest Silverlight - it only takes 30 seconds! - WRONG. However, after much searching, I finally did the steps in order and it worked.
This was after repeatedly downloading Silverlight from the Netflix site without success. So here's what I did:
1. Went to http://www.microsoft.com/getsilverlight/Get-Started/Install/Default.aspx
2. Followed the directions. I felt like such an idiot for not doing it right before.
3. Go to your hard drive and search for "Silverlight" to locate ANY existing Silverlight files: .dmg, etc.
[also check your Libary/ Internet Plug-ins, but the above search is faster]
4. Drag it all to the trash and empty it.
5. Go back to the Get Silverlight page and click on the Install on that page, not the Netflix site.
6. Note the steps for Safari or Mozilla Firefox - I wanted Firefox, so I follwed those instructions.
7. Once it's installed, close all the browsers and Restart that bad boy. Right away.
8. Open a browser, go to Netflix and proceed to joyfully rot your brain with Netflix content. Yay!

Some Flash video/audio sites not working, Mac - Tiger

Hey there
I'm having an issue where certain flash sites don't work
properly on my mac, they just sit there loading and never actually
do anything.
The vast majority of sites work just fine, youtube, google
video, gamevideos.com, the escapist, etc..
But some sites such as veoh.com simply will not play the
videos.
In addition to that, www.pandora.com will not work either,
but there I at least get an error message stating that "flash local
storage is not turned on". In this case I've tried to load the
flash manager and turn it on, but after changing it and going back
in, it seems that my changes were not saved and my local storage is
stuck at 10k max.
The exact same sites work fine on my friends PC using my
wireless connection.
I have tried to uninstall and reinstall flash with no
success.
I've tried both firefox and safari, neither work, but the
flash stuff seems to be global on the machine, so I suspect it's
more of a problem with the flash than with a specific browser.
I've even tried to run firefox as root, install flash as
root, etc thinking that it was something to do with not having
permission to write to wherever flash was trying to store stuff.
I've got Firefox 2.0.0.14, OSX 10.4.11, and Flash 9.0.124.0
installed.
I suppose I'm most concerned about pandora.com, but I think
the video issues may be related to the "local storage" error I'm
getting aswell.
Any and all help greatly appreciated.

No, not yet, support finally got back to me, but suggested it
was site specific.... which it's not, since every other computer
but mine works fine on that site (goto pandora.com if you're in the
US, it works fine, just not for me)
I've tried the flash 10 beta, that didn't help either.
I did a verify and repair permissions with apple's disk
utility, it did correct the permissons on the flash plugin, adding
write access for the group, but that didn't fix the problem.
Also, the fact that when I use the flash manager on adobe's
site and it won't remember the settings makes me think it's
something to do with Flash not having access to write a local
config file. It doesn't even have anything in the list of visited
sites like it should...
I don't know where this config file is, i'm still waiting to
hear back form support again...
I'll post something when it's fixed...

Videos from many different sources will stop playing well before the end; this is true on Firefox 3.6.28 and 22.0.

When I play and try to download videos from YouTube and other sources, the videos stop playing anywhere from a few seconds after starting up to about a third of the length of the video. Occasionally, the video will play through to the end, but neither ant nor downloader will work.
I have Firefox 3.6.28 on my old Mac G5 (OS 10.4.11), and on my new MacMini running Firefox 22.0 and up to about 10 days ago, the 3.6.28 worked fine (I hadn't started using the MacMini at that time).
The G5 Firefox loads sites slowly, but that's to be expected, considering its "age".

YouTube regularly makes changes to its websites that causes programs and Firefox extensions that download file to get broken. In such a case those extensions need to be updated to start working again and until then you can't save files.
You should be able to play those videos without a problem.
If not then start Firefox in [[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]] to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions).
*Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window or otherwise make changes.

No. Import it into iMovie and use the Share->Export Movie menu option.

If you have Quicktime Pro you can open the movie in QT Player and use the File->Export for Web option.

With QT Pro you can create both iPhone options at the same time (each will be in a separate folder with other files) and you can see which suits you best.

hey
i'm know i'm pushing the limits of iweb with this....but was wondering if someone could help me out with this....
i have videos i am embeding with a flash player, i was wondering if there is a way to embed a youtube style video box on the left side of the page. This would function as to offer the person to play videos that are related to the one playing in the embedded player
what i'm trying avoid here is having to create a separate page for each video....
i thought of this idea, but if anyone has a better idea than creating a page for each video let me know

I can't help you with the flash "jukebox" for flash videos (if anyone can it would be Roddy) but I do have a low tech type of possible solution.
This demo page has an example of an HTML Snippet button for playing videos in a separate window that you can size to fit the video size. You can use a frame of the video and put the button on or below the thumbnail on the page. As I said it's low tech approach but might work for you if you don't come across an jukebox solution.

Did you check the volume setting in that Flash Player?
Try to clear the Flash local storage and settings.
*Windows Control Panel > Flash Player > Storage: Local Storage Settings
**Remove a specific domain: Local Storage Settings by site
**Remove all domains: Delete All and Delete Data

You can click the Volume icon on the Windows Taskbar near the clock and click the Mixer link at the bottom to open the mixer. 
You can adjust the volume level for each application in that window, so make sure that Firefox is not muted or set at a low level. 
Current Firefox versions use the plugin-container process to run plugins, so you need to check the volume setting for the plugin-container process. 
You will only see the Firefox program or the Plugin Container in the Mixer if you are on a website that plays sound.

What extension is needed to enable video from the Cleveland Browns web site? Video and movies play everywhere on the iMac OS 10.9.2 and my Safari 7.0.2 browser except on Cleve.Browns site. I had it working earlier but after a crash I must have made some changes and video is no longer available on that site?

Thank you for the suggestion but my Safari uses 12.0.077 Flash PLayer and the video on the Browns' site still does not respond. Works OK on FireFox but not at all on Safari.
