Video keeps playing in hidden div tag - how to stop it?

Hi,
I have a problem with a vimeo video in a hidden div tag. The div tag named #movie starts out to be hidden till a menu is clicked and it becomes visible, and the vimeo video can be started. The problem is when the #movie becomes hiddan again and the movie keeps playing and you can hear the noise from the movie.
Is there any way to tell the vimeo movie / content of #movie to stop or reload when it becomes hidden?

Maverick's screensaver comes on even if video is playing...
Why is that, and how can we stop this behaviour?
We tried EyeTV, VLC, UMPlayer, it is the same for all three... I guess the problem is with the screensaver?
But the screensaver is Maverick's default (clean Mavericks installation on a new iMac)... I don't think this is supposed behaviour.

Still not working, at the moment I use energy safe set to 3 hours as a work around... However, a working screensaver would be better!

Bookmarked videos keep playing in the background

--when i bookmark a video from you tube or anywhere else--the video keeps playing in the background--there is no tab--this happens with certain flash sites as well--i remedy the problem by restarting the browser or making a non video bookmark right after---

Div tag - how do you keep text within box

I have looked at many of the sample documents where the
columns, div boxes, etc are layed out for you. Margins and padding
are set. However it seems when I type text within the boundry I can
just keep typing clear outside the boundries. Shouldn't the text
auto-wrap to stay within the box. What good does it do to have the
div tag settings if they don't enclose the text for you? What am I
missing here.

Put a space in what you are typing, please. See what happens.

Audio from inserted video keeps playing on next slide

Hello,
I'm experimenting with Adobe Presenter 6. I have inserted a
video clip into a slide. There is a stop action on frame1 with a
button that advances to frame2. The video has audio, which
unfortunately keeps playing if I advance to the next slide. If I go
once slide further ahead, the audio from the video stops. Has
anyone else encountered this problem? It's driving me crazy!

Hi Doc!
I actually ran into the same situation...not with a video
clip, but with a basic flash animation that had audio in it. I'm
not suggesting that the following will definitely work for you, but
it might be worth taking a look at:
Any audio that's set to "Event" while editing in Flash will
continue to "stream" , even while navigating between slides. In
most cases that I've seen (from my experience), audio will stop if
the offending slide is placed immediately before a question slide.
I realize that might not be practical in every case, so....
1. Make sure that audio sync settings in flash are set to
"Stream". What this does is effectively kill off any audio once you
navigate away from the slide that has the embedded flash on it.
2. you can always add a stopAllSounds(); method in flash, but
that's not highly recommended
UNLESS your content slide (with the offending flash object )
comes immediately before, or within a range of question slides.
Again, this too might not be entirely practical based on what
you're trying to do.
I realize that might not help, but as I said, it might be
worth taking a look at how you're incorporating your video.

I can hear a childrens show playing whenever I go online, how to stop this please.

My grandchildren go to pbs.org and and play games and watch videos on my computer. Now one of the shows keeps playing in the background whenever I go online. I have no idea how to delete it from the system. FIrefox is the only browser I have this issue with.

In your "More system details" you didn't list your extensions (to upload those automatically, you would have been prompted to install a Troubleshooting extension during the posting process).
For your security and possibly your sanity, you should review those and disabling everything that is not essential. You can do that here:
orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons > Extensions category
You also might want to consider creating separate profiles for your grandchildren, i.e., creating a different desktop shortcut for each profile. This way, your own settings are less likely to be disturbed. (Article on profiles: [[Profiles - Where Firefox stores your bookmarks, passwords and other user data]].) If you're interested in that, a volunteer should be able to point you to some resources for how to set it up.

Cp6.. Audio from FLV Slide Video keeps playing

I have a project with several slides in a row that have flv videos with audio. I used the multi-slide/sync video.. not event video to install the video on each slide. Here's the problem:
Say I'm watching /listening to the video on slide 1, when I use the playbar to advance to slide 2, the audio thats attached to the video on slide 1 continues to play, and the video on slide 2 also starts.   So, I'm watching the video on slide 2 but hearing the audio from video 1 and video 2. This does not occur when with mp4 videos.   I am using a standard playbar. This does not happen in CP5.5 with the same project. Any Ideas?

Nimmy, Yes, I did have transitions applied. Changing to “No Transition” did resolve the issue. This was one of a series of Captivate 5.0 projects I’m updating.   I just confirmed that the second one in series had the same issue when updated in Captivate 6. Again, changing to “No Transitions” resolved the issue. I also, opened both of these projects in Captivate 5.5 and republished – the transitions work perfectly in Captivate 5.5.
Vikram, this issue occurred on a Win 7 PC, the videos are not split across separate slides, as reported above, I can duplicate the issue across several projects now.   I did try different FLV. I was incorrect in my original post about MP4’s not having the same issue.   The project with the MP4 videos did not use transitions. When I applied a transition, the same issue occurred.
This is one of several Captivate 6 issues that’s causing me to reconsider using it.    It has several new features I’d like to use but its eating up a ton of time, none of which is billable.    I’d suggest that if you can… create/publish any new projects in Captivate 5.5 then open in Captivate 6. If everything works as expected great. Otherwise, you have a fallback position in Captivate 5.

If you are testing on public wifi, that hardly helps. Public wifi is always over taxed with users and slow.
WhenI said test, I mean to go on the computer and test the actual speed of your internet and wifi.

When watching a video on youtube and then you press on YOUTUBE logo or make a search, the sound from the previous watched video keeps playing.(i'm in safe mode)

This happens only in firefox and it happens in normal mode(aka with add-ons) and in safe mode.

Ok, so I made a video with Bandicam, and every time I click on it to play it (it is saved as an MP4), it just says: Windows Media Player has stopped working. Then it gives me two choices: Close the program OR look online for a solution. I REALLY want to

Please first take a check with the other Players and see if they could play the MP4 file normally. If it can't be played, which means it might be corrupted. You may ask at the Bandicam side, or save the files again.
If issue insists, take a try with the Troubleshooter (For Windows 7, 8 and 8.1):
Open the Windows Media Player Settings troubleshooter
Fix Windows Media Player video, and other media or library issues
Or you may try to turn Windows Features on or off to reset Windows Media Player:
Turn Windows features on or off (Before turn it on again, please remember to reboot first)

IOS Update 5.1.1 and now slide shows play on LOCKED iPad. How to stop it??

I had made a backup before installing the update.
I installed the update, then noticed that the slide show button was visible on the lock screen. You can press it and it plays your images. There does not appear to be a way to turn off this lame 'feature'.
I tried restoring from my backup, but it seems to only restore the data, not the OS as it still shows at 5.1.1

How do you make div tags line up in Dreamweaver CS6?

Is there any way to make the div tags indent so that the opening & closing tags line up vertically? When use Apply Source Formatting, sometimes the ending tag is at the end of a line of code instead of wrapped to the next line and linked up with its beginning tag. Are there any settings to make this happen or extensions for this?

Convert Music while Keeping Play Count, etc.

I've just come to the conclusion that AAC sounds significantly better than MP3 at the same bitrate. I've also noticed from using my own music that a song that's 128-kbps AAC sounds just as good as 160-kbps MP3.
When I first started using iTunes (back in my Windoze days), I imported the majority of my music as 160-kbps MP3 and continued doing so after I got my MBP.
Now since I realized that I could have the same quality of music take up much less space if I use 128-kbps AAC, I would like to convert my MP3s to AAC. However, when doing this in iTunes, it does not copy the play count, last played, etc. While it wouldn't be a big deal if I only had a few hundred songs, I have over 2500 that I would want to convert.
Does anyone know of a way (or another application) that can convert my MP3s to AAC and keep play counts and other tags?

Sorry, but you cannot. Converting music formats creates a new separate file. It is supposed to work that way due to the differences in file qualities and other details. Playcount can only be manipulated by either playing the tracks through or editing the iTunes database (something I do not recommend)

FLVPlayback keeps playing off stage

I'm doing a small Flash 10 site for a friend of mine at http://www.secretsoflove.tv/ and my problem is if you click on the WATCH button, you'll see the FLVPlayback component comes up and the video starts playing. Fine so far. However, click on any other button and it takes you to the correct place in the timeline but the audio from the video keeps playing and I can't get it to stop even though the FLVPlayback component is nowhere on the stage anymore. How can I fix this bug?

You either need to stop all sounds by using the following code:
          above all else, in your imports put:
                    import flash.media.SoundMixer;
          then in your button code that calls the other pages put:
                    SoundMixer.stopAll();
          -- This will kill all your sounds, though. So if you have other sounds playing, those will stop also. --
Or you need to remove the mc altogether. You can do it a little more programmatically.(I take it you have the flv embedded in your fla?)
1. Create an _empty movie clip
2. place it on stage at the x,y top left of the flv component.
3. give it an instance name of "container" or something to that effect and make its frames extend the length of your movie.
4. Highlight the flv component and F8 to put the flv component into a movie clip at top left registration.
5. Remove the new movie clip with the flv inside from the stage.
6. In the Library right click on the movie clip with the flv and click Properties
7. click "Export for ActionScript"
8. Copy the name in the Base Class field and click OK
9. in your button code put this:
               container.addChild(myFLVmc);
     where "myFLVmc is the copied Base Class
10. in your other button code put this:
               container.removeChild(myFLVmc);
This will at least get you started.
