Video lags when I add effects

When ever I ad effects to my video the video lags. Its fine when I export it. Is there anyway I can turn the videoquality down to stop this or something,

Im using final cut express4.0.1
Right now I am using the blink effect. I wasn’t sure if it was just that effect so I tried the emboss effect and a blur effect and the video seemed to lag when I used them as well. When I export the video the blink effect runs smoothly, but its hard to tell if I got the video how I want it when it lags in the preview window.

My after effects keeps crashing when i add effects i think it is due to disk cach?? help!

My after effects cs6 keeps crashing when i add effects but it is random.. for example i might add 3 adj layers with effects on each .. different effects then randomly when i add say turbulent displace a window will pop up saying after effects has crashed due to... [ turbulent displace ]! also when i start up after effects it says there is not enough disk cach even though my disk cach is empty and i allow over 300 gb for it!
please help! mabey i need to configure after effects more or something but any advise with be greatly appreciated.

Lag when using animated effect

I have a little problem with my ADOBE AFTER EFFECT CC Version 13.2.0.49
When i use animated effect like Rainfall or Twitch from VideoCopilot my After Effect get har lags !

Flash video lags when uploaded to Youtube.

Hi.
I have tried to upload one of my flash videos on youtube, the only problem is that it lags!
The sound is perfect, but the film only shows about 1 frame per second, when it's supposed to be 12 frames per second. This is obviously nothing worth watching when the picture lags as much as it does.
I have uploaded the same video on my facebook profile, and it worked pretty good, but as I already said, it lags when it is on youtube.
I don't have any movieclips in the movie I uploaded to Youtube.
Does it have anything to do with the settings on the movie? I eksported it in to a quiktime film before I uploaded it to youtube. I saw a tutorial where the person exported his flash into quiktime and uploaded it to youtube, and the animations were smooth, but when I do this, it lags.
Can anybody help me?

Video lags when effect plays. Please help.

When ever I try to play back a short 10 second video of just a twirling lightsaber effect(using copilots preset)it lags the whole way through the effect, but nothing else.
It does the exact same thing even when I use(I think) the highest settings.
Anyone have any ideas on what I am doing wrong?
I am thinking that it doesn't involve rendering, but involves something with the making of the file. Like I may not be finished with it I guess?

Ok, this is the problem.
When I preview a film(also by clicking the preview with ram under the composition tab) the film skips and is slow. Like skipping many frames, even though I have skip frame on zero.
If I render it with the highest quality the finished product will come out the same way as the preview.
Earlier I was trying to fix the problem and messed around with the project settings and the video worked fine, but now I cant remember wat I did and it is doing the same thing.

Why do YouTube videos lag when I switch to 720p?

Hi guys,
I'm extremely annoyed by the fact that everytime I watch a YouTube video and switch the quality from a standard 480p to a 720p or 1080p HD, the video gets lagged out. After restarting my Macbook Pro, it gets better and in a short while when I try to view it in 720p again, it gets laggy again. I have no problems viewing it in 320p or 480p. I notice this happens after I installed a number of updates on my Mac OS X 10.
Here's a list of updates I made.

A lot of people on the other forums seem to suggest it's the internet connection.
I can tell you for one that I have never experienced anything like this before. In the past two years with the same internet plan, I have been able to watch 720p and 1080p HD YouTube videos without any problem. Just today after installing those updates, the video gets lagged whenever I switched to 720p HD.
I just restarted my Macbook Pro and everything is fine for now. In half an hour or so, it's gonna happen again.

IPad streaming video lags when any bluetooth speakers or headset used

Cannot even watch a Netflix movie or YouTube with any bluetooth device or the streaming video will begin to lag and buffer. iPad also lags with streaming music, like Pandora. As soon as I turn off bluetooth, everything works fine. Why??? I heard it's because bluetooth and Wi-Fi share a antenna which causes a signifcant decrease in performance. That the same chip is used to decode both signals. So when both bluetooth and Wi-Fi are being used at the same time the process slows down for both signals. Is this true???

I'm in the same boat, I thought it was because I have a ipad 2. It's since the ios 7 update. Although tonight there was a 7.3 update so you never know they might have fixed it.

Video lag when I try to edit a GoPro Video

Laptop used to edit my video's:
Alineware m14x
i7 2860qm processor 2.5Ghz (3.6 with turbo boost)
Nevidia 555m 3gb
16GB RAM
All drivers are upto date along with software updates.
It plays fine in the preview but as soon as I drag it over to edit or apply effects it will start to lag, if I try and apply the stabilizer effect it pretty much gives me 1-2 frames a sec.
Is it down to my laptop or is the software in need of some tinkering?
Can anyone help?

Video lag when using apple remote app

I'm running iTunes on a vista machine.....iTunes runs great but when I use the remote app on my iPad I get video stutter........music is fine. any help would be great...........

DV Video lost when Connect add-in installed - HELP!

Hi,
We have this problem on hosted service Connect installation:
- video (from a mixer) is going through ADVC110 in DV to PC (Windows 7 64 bit)
- audio is going in audiocard in PC (because apparently we cannot use the audio in the DV stream???)
This is working ok
As soon as we need to use a PowerPoint the Adobe platform asks us to install the "Connect Add-in" or we will not have any audio it states
Having done this:
we lose the video from our ADVC 110....and the audio....
deinstalling the "Connect Add-in" gets us back to the beginning (video ok, audio ok), but then we cannot use a PPT Pod....
a) why can't we get audio from the DV stream
b) do we need the add-in
c) is still a know isssue
Please help us.

Thanks again. I finally found the answer and it is working in Safari and Chrome
First I updated Flash Player to the latest version (not sure whether this was required)
Then I found that even though the add-in was installed that Connect was not using it, as all the browser tabs were still showing, and adjusting sound was crashing the program.
I deleted the add-in directory from ~/Library/Preferences/Macromedia/Flash Player/www.macromedia.com/bin/connectaddin
I deleted the add-in directory from ~/Library/Preferences/Macromedia/Flash Player/www.macromedia.com/bin/adobeconnectaddin
Then I restarted the meeting and created a new Pod and Selected 'Share my Screen'
This forced the add-in to download and install.
Adobe Connect now starts from the add-in and not the browser

I'm trying http://mplayerosxext.googlecode.com, and it seem to be working pretty well.
There is also another fix for the last version of VLC, I haven't tried yet, 'cause MPlayer does the job.

Have looked at some forums and it appears to be an issue with some later cards and Mac Book Pros
Any one else experiencing issues? and if so are they resolved? and if so by what manner were they resolved?

IPod video lag

Problem > my ipod video lags when it plays some movies. when i play music videos(only videos i have on ipod now) some tend to be aprox 1 sec delay. its odd when a singer says somthing and one second later the words follow on my headphones. this only happens to some of my videos (about half) while the other half are perfect. it will happen 100% of the time to those songs so its not a random ipod lag.
Process >i use "imTOO" video converter to get my files to mp4 format and run windows xp. while some videos lag others are fine with none. i tried multiple times to convert files(mpeg,avi) to mp4 with no programs running with still no success. i have also tried updating my ipod with no programs running with no success.
Question > so i was wondering if this has happen to anybody else out there with a gen5 video iPod? if so were you able to fix this problem and how did you do this? is it the program i am using? any help would be great. thanks.

Extreme lag when add effects

I have a very confusing problem,maybe you can help me find the problem!
Last week I formatted my pc and the problem is:
When I add AN effect,for example ''fast color corrector'',he reacts veryyy slow! When i hit the color wheel it have a lag for 1 second i think.
Whatttt?! I got a brand new system here,please anyone can help me!

Here you may have your first problem, if I read your message correctly. Are you using ONE physical disk with partitions and did you install PP on the same partition as the media files?
PP needs at least two different physical disks and preferably three.
One for OS and programs, one for media and preferably one for previews/scratch.
Never partition a disk, it will only cause severe headaches. It is like you are driving a car and want to turn left, while your wife beside you tells you to turn right and the children in back say: No, drive straight ahead. What do you do? Same with your disk.
