Video lip (audio) sync way off

Anyone else noticed that videos shot and played back on the phone are way off with respect to lip sync?  The videos same videos when transferred to my PC play fine.  Other streaming content is fine on the phone (TV.com and Netflix).
Thanks.

Thank you Wildman for your suggestion!  Clearing memory is certainly one of the most helpful tips.
MMFofCT, the way that downloads are being played back is not normal.  I know you say streamed data works fine; therefore, the downloaded data should work the same.  This is likely to happen if the memory card is close to being full; however, if the card has plenty of memory and this is still happening, I suggest doing a Factory Reset , and then attempt to play/ view downloaded videos.  If still unsuccessful, we will need to speak with you to do further troubleshooting.  If this is the case, please send me a Private Message and I will be happy to personally assist you.
Thank you,

  • Video and audio sync is off

I have a video that was captured using the Hauppauge Win-TV 950Q and the Win TV software package. The file plays just fine in WinTV or using the Windows Media Player, but the timing of the audio and video seem to slip if I import it into Premiere Elements. I am using version 10, so I don't know if this is something that was fixed in a newer version. Over the course of an hour, the audio goes from off by about a second at the beginning to being something on the order of eight seconds behind at the end of an hour. Anyone know how to fix this?
    Thanks
    -Bob

thanks for looking! If I knew the answers to all your questions, I probably would know what's wrong and how to fix it. I am not looking to do anything exciting here, just trying to archive a program to a playable DVD. Well - I have it playable, it's just not watchable unless you can deal with badly synced audio.
Loaded up mediainfo and it says the frame rate is 29.97, but a variable bit rate for video and constant audio.
    I will look into handbrake.

  • Audio is way off in converted videos on ipod...slowly gets worse

Any help on fixes....Progressively gets out of synch with the video as movie plays. Easiest fixes appreciated. Thanks, JY

Fair enough....Videora was my program. No problems getting videos changed over from mpeg to proper format. Got them into itunes and onto my ipod 30gb video. Audio starts off fine, then slowly gets behind more and more during movie.
I read a little about how this can happen. Video is running at a different speed than audio from the get-go. The more time the movie is, the longer the difference gets.
I'm lost on some of the settings people say to use. Need a fix, hopefully with videora, since I've converted several movies already through that. Any help would be great, and hopefully you can explain it with some detail if you do have some info.
    Thanks, JY

  • Adding photos over video? Audio sync issues. :o(

I just started using iMovie HD today. So far so good- but I have run into an issue where I want to add photos over my interview subject (video and audio). I have separated the audio from the video so I can split the movie clip and add the photo... but iMovie isn't removing the extra movie footage so when the photo fades the movie audio doesn't sync with the persons lips. This must be a common issue. How do I fix this so when the photo fades the video underneath is synced with the audio (spoken word). Thanks for any help!!!
    PB G4   Mac OS X (10.4.8)   I'm a imovie noob. :o)

Hi mistahtea - it sounds as though you are going about it in the wrong way.
Firstly make sure that in iMovie Preferences you have ticked 'Extract Audio when Pasting Over at Playhead'.
    Then:
    1. Copy the pic you want to superimpose.
    2. Position the Playhead where you want the pic to insert.
    3. Go Advanced>Paste Over at Playhead.
    That should do the trick!

  • Why does embedded video cause audio sync issues?

    Greetings all,
I have a question that is perhaps best answered by an Adobe developer or someone who knows the SWF file format and various audio/video standards fairly well. When one drags an FLV file into the library in flash authoring tool, a window appears. If you click "Embed FLV in SWF and play on timeline", an awful message appears, "WARNING: Embedded video is likely to cause audio synchronization issues...". My question is: why would there be any audio synchronization issue? Is this really just a bug/unimplemented feature? Or is there some fundamental shortcoming of current versions of the SWF file format that does not allow for the FLV audio/video signals to be properly encoded in the SWF file? Or is it that the flash player plays SWF and FLV data in fundamentally different ways and that even if the audio/video is perfected sync'd in the SWF file, the fact that it's a SWF file causes flash player to lose sync?
I'm guessing only a Flash developer could answer this (and probably not just any Flash developer!), so if there are any out there, please spare some wisdom for a poor lost SWF surfer.
       Thanks!

    Hi:
    Welcome to discussions!
From what I am reading, you are trying to use the audio that was in the original video-right? By that, I mean, you haven't added a voice over or music-just using the speaker's voice on the tape.
If so, you might want to try using something like a Fade Out or Fade In instead of one of the transitions that add or subtract to the length of the video
    [Quoted from iMovie Help]
Some transitions (for example, Cross Dissolve and Push) shorten your movie by a few seconds, depending on the speed of the transition. For example, if you add a transition with a speed of 2 seconds, iMovie overlaps 2 seconds from the first clip and 2 seconds from the second clip as it renders the transition. This shortens your movie by a total of 2 seconds.
The Overlap transition freezes the last frame of the clip on its left and superimposes it over the next clip. Fade In/Fade Out blackens the last frames of the clip on the left and the first frames of the following clip.
    [End quote]
Or you could try extracting the audio from the movie so that you could edit it and sync it that way.

  • Audio Sync Waaaay Off!

Importing my video into FCP5... no problems. But... the audio sync is waaay off! Rebooted... restarted etc. Audio sync still waaay off! Any ideas!

    Nick,
I'm such a newbie at all of this. That was it. Rerecorded (unfortunately) my presentation and sent it back in 16bit (was previously set at 12bit/Canon Cam). That was it! Works GREAT now! Thanks soooo much.

  • Audio Sync is off on various Websites

Just a couple weeks ago I noticed that the audio sync on Facebook videos wasn't syncing properly with the video. Didn't think anything of it at first, but then I noticed this same phenomenon on various other sites including newsites, Vines, Vimeo, and YouTube, just to name a few. The audio sync appears to be fine with videos already on my system.
What's going on here? Has anybody experienced anything like this before? How can it be fixed?
    Thanks!
    Chris

Really? Nobody has experienced this? Every video looks like a poorly-dubbed martial arts movie.

  • Getting The Video and Audio Synced Up

I have a the weirdest feeling that the audio and video are not perfectly synced up. It may only be by a frame or two. In final cut pro, I can go frame by frame and hear where the audio should be and correct it. Can this be done in DVD studio pro? Is there any other way to check? It is nothing big, but I would really love some assurance that they are together. I have DVDSP 3.

DVD SP is not designed for that type of precise editing, just some general things, and you are better off doing all edits outside of DVD SP. Where are you seeing the synch problem?

  • Video and audio sync

I am currently having issues with the audio for shows and movies being out of sync while playing only through ITunes.  I have Windows 7 and am using the Asus P6T motherboard's Realtek audio.  I don't have any issues playing through windows video player, just iTunes and quicktime.  I've tried all of the FAQ recommendations to include turning off sound enhancements and updating software for motherboard audio.  Does anyone have any other ideas of how to get the audio and video to sync?  Thank.

  • H.264 web video loses audio sync and freezes frame in JW media player

    Hi,
I am trying to put my H-264 video (.mov) that I compress with Compressor on the web to play in JW media player. The problem is, after 30 seconds of smoothly playing, the video starts to lag, freezes frames and ever since then the audio do not sync with the video anymore (can be as far apart as 10 second). Strangely, this only happens on the longer videos.
I am assuming it has something to do with the compression setting that makes the file is too big and thus create streaming bottlenecking? Maybe I should readjust my parameters?
this is the setting I use:
    File Extension: mp4
    Estimated file size: 104.3 MB
    Audio Encoder
    AAC, Mono, 44.100 kHz
    Video Encoder
    Format: QT
    Width: 480
    Height: 270
    Pixel aspect ratio: Square
    Crop: None
    Padding: None
    Frame rate: (100% of source)
    Selected: 29.97
    Frame Controls: Automatically selected: Off
    Codec Type: H.264
    Multi-pass: On, frame reorder: On
    Pixel depth: 24
    Spatial quality: 75
    Min. Spatial quality: 25
    Key frame interval: 24
    Temporal quality: 50
    Min. temporal quality: 25
    Average data rate: 0.819 (Mbps)
    Thanks,
    JD

Thanks for the input. What do you mean by encoding it as H.264 not mp4 - which setting affects that?
    Maybe I already has it?
here is what I have now:
    Video compression setting

    Frame rate: current fps
    Key frames: every 24 frames
    Frame Reordering: Yes
    Compressor quality: High

  • Audio sync is off by the end of recordings

    Hello,
I have some recordings in .AVI format that were made earlier this year. The files were made using a Black Magic capture card, and their Media Express recording program.  These recordings are approximatly 2-3 hours in length.
I have discovered that although the audio is synchronized at the beginning of the recordings, it is off by as much as 1-2 seconds by the end of the recording.
Is there a way in Premiere Elements 8 to correct the audio so that it is properly synced over the entire recording?
    Thank you!

    Welcome to the forum.
Unfortunately, you have posted to the Tips & Tricks sub-forum, which is a repository for tips on how to do things in PrE. Our MOD, Steve, will probably move this out to the main forum, so that more users can see and respond.
Now, regarding the AVI's, that term is just a wrapper, and it's what's inside that really matters. This ARTICLE will give you some background.
It is likely that the BM CODEC is causing the sync drift. Dynamic OOS correction is a bit harder, than static OOS, but this ARTICLE will step you though the process.
    Good luck,
    Hunt

  • IChat AV 3.1.9 an 10.4.9 - clear video, no audio either way

okay, I've read the threads and I've done the tips, but still this odd issue is happening:
With the 10.4.9 upgrade (this worked on 10.4.8) my iChat AV will connect clearly with video (iSight on a G5 iMac to a Core Duo iMac) but neigth person can hear one another. We can do an audio chat just fine and sound is clear. The Network appears to only be using 10-20 Kbps and I have DSL, the connecting computer is Cable. We are using Linksys WRT54g routers (wired over 100 Mb Eithernet) and have the ports open (like I said, this worked in 10.4.8).
I know it is something with me because the othr computer can connect to a MacBook Pro and has audio and video at the same time. I have tried:
    - Uninstall Flip For Mac
    - Check my NAT ports
    - Check Quicktime bandwidth is 1.5 and iChat bandwidth limit is None
    - iChat is 3.1.8
This is a real bummer. Your help is appreciated!

    Hi Aaron,
    Welcome to the Apple Discussions
IS your Linksys doing DHCP with Port Forwarding ?
If so sometime when you do an Update the modem or router will consider the New OS to be a new computer and issue it with a different IP.
Is the computer getting the IP the Port Forward settings are pointing to ?
Does this Linksys have UPnP in the Administration tab ?
    Is it On ?
You should not be using two methods.
As UPnP allows multiple computers (different IPs) to use the same ports it provides a way around the the problem of DHCP issued IPs changing.

  • Solution to AVC/H.264 MPEG4 video compression Audio Sync Issue

Been trying to find an solution to this problem for a year now - one would think Adobe would have addressed themselves but....
I have the Xacti E1 camera and it utilizes the AVC/H.264 MPEG4 video compression that both Premier Elements 4 & 7 plus Pro CS4 have sync issues with.
What I did was use Quicktime Pro to convert the Audio ONLY to wave – very fast actually. So basically in Premier I added the original MPEG4 video to the timeline, removed its messed up audio, replaced it with the Quicktime Pro wav file then regroup the wav audio and video to keep it clean.

    Sure!
Would be nice if Adobe addressed the problem as this std is used by most flash based video cameras

  • Video and audio sync when viewing clips online

When viewing clips, like on youtube, the graphics start playing, however there is no sound, only after a few seconds the graphics freeze and the sound that was missing starts playing and the graphics resume when they're in sync again.
Also when I pause a video and click play the clip will not resume and I have to click the "time bar" and then it will play.
My 13 MB Pro starts furiously blowing the cooling fan and consuming battery life when viewing clips on most video sites.
How can I fix these things?
This already happened before upgrading to Lion, btw.

Are you capturing this thru the LS? and what is the format you are digitizing? DV? or uncompressed? Would be best I'd think if you don't capture audio and video as separate files too. That leads to problems especially with DV captures.
How are you monitoring the audio and video? all from computer or? You could be in sync and not know it if you are using computer speakers for monitoring audio when watching video externally for example.
If you monitor both from the computer and it is in sync, but not when you record to video, I'd suggest that you export a self contained movie of this material and import that for the print to the beta... I'll wager that will keep your sync. If this doesn't help, might want to post this in the AJA KONA forum at http://www.creativecow.net Might be something to do with your LS, not sure but do have the latest drivers installed on it...

  • Audio sync slightly off when capturing

    Hi-
I've got a canon vixia HV30. I'm capturing HDV, and the video is fine, but the audio is a second off. I've tried a variety of settings in the a/v setup, but nothing seems to work. When I'm playing the footage back off the camera, through Log and Capture, I also get no sound out of the computer, just from the camera. Are these things related?
    Thanks!

How do you know this is the case? How is the audio being routed and monitored?

No. FCP is set up to not play HDV audio during the capturing process.
