Video name not showing
Hopefully a quick fix for this. I converted and copied a bunch of mp4 files across to the TouchPad, but I can't tell what each video file is because no file name is displayed. Did I do something wrong in the coversion, or is this a bug?

Yes, it's a bug. Been reported already, and hopefully the first OTA update will squash it!

I've imported a video into my iPod, but the name of the file is completely blank except for the little video rectangle on the right hand side of the screen. I can click on the empty file name and watch the video just fine, but it is vexing not to have the name listed in the menu. Is there any way this can be solved? On a side note the names and notations for my videos show up just fine for me in iTunes.

If it is, try restoring. Keep in mind, restoring erases everything on your iPod, so make sure all of your files are backed up. -
I am trying to connect my JVC Hard Disk Drive Camcorder to my IPAD 2 via the Apple camera kit. I am able to download photos, but video files not showing. Camera shows Mass Stoarge. How can I download videos please?
The file name only has 6 characters and I'm not sure what the .mod format is. So that's why they are not seen by the iPad.
Another way to transfer. You can use a USB flash drive & the camera connection kit.
Plug the USB flash drive into your computer & create a new folder titled DCIM. Then put your movie/photo files into the folder. The files must have a filename with exactly 8 characters long (no spaces) plus the file extension (i.e., my-movie.mov; DSCN0164.jpg).
Now plug the flash drive into the iPad using the camera connection kit. Open the Photos app, the movie/photo files should appear & you can import. (You can not export using the camera connection kit.)

Flex 4 Video player not showing the video in any other machines
I created a new Flex 4 project, and used Video display component and source was set to a file in src folder. It works fine in my computer. But after moving the content from bin-release to another machine, video is not showing.
The flv file is in the bin-release folder.At a quick glance, all your files seem to be there, but I

Scripts folder is in the site root folder, and all your other
files are in
the special folder. Might be something wonky there.
If you are on a Linux server, you might double check the
upper * lower case
matching between your links and file/folder names.
Does your host confirm the mime type support for flv ?

Err this is no longer April 1st you know.
The iPod Shuffle has never had a 'display' on which track names can be shown. See http://www.apple.com/ipod-shuffle/ if you want an iPod which does have a display on which you can see the tracks names and even the album cover art then look instead at the bigger and more expensive iPod Nano http://www.apple.com/ipod-nano/ or iPod Touch http://www.apple.com/ipod-touch/
PS. The current iPod Shuffle even though it has no display on which it can show the track names can read them out loud to you using a voice-synthesiser this is the VoiceOver feature described on the iPod Shuffle product page I listed above. -
I imported some 24P HD videos from my DSLR to Aperture but these videos do not show up in iMovie '09 for editing purposes. Although my previous 24P HD Videos from iPhoto '09 show up. Why can't I access these videos stored in Aperture library? I assumed that like the videos in iPhoto, I would be able to access the videos in Aperture through iMovie. Come on Apple! I am starting to get frustrated with your products here. And this is saying a lot when I have been using and loving apple products for the last 4 years.
Hi. My camera is a Canon 600D. And yes my videos are stored in the Aperture library and they are not referenced. Even then I tried to select all the videos in Aperture and clicked 'consolidate masters' and there was a messge that said all 'none of the files are referenced',... so they didn't need consolidating.
I also tried preferences> export> external video editor > choose > iMovie. And then right click on the video to edit with imovie. Even then the video didn't show up in iMovie. It seems like the only option for me is to import the videos directly to iMovie which means there will be two versions of the same file stored in my computer eating up space.

i'm a novice at editing software and after creating some title slides and to go along with .wav file sound effects i started importing mpg movie files and jpeg pictures from my hard drive that went along with an mp3 song. when i went to export the video to check my progress only the title files and wav sound effects exported and none of the video or pictures or mp3 exported. i exported it as a windows media file to play in WMP. Would this have anything to do with the type of video i said i'd be using when setting up my project? Because none of that made any sense to me and i just picked the dv ntsc standard 48hz aspect. I have a cannon FS100 that records in MOD files (mpeg2). I downloaded them through the program that was provided with my camera to the hard drive and then into adobe. Would this cause my video to not show up in exported projects if i chose the incorrect presets? I don't want to keep editing this video if at the end i'll have to redo the entire thing due to incorrect presets so i thought i'd try the forums. Thanks for any help you can give.

That's not quite the best approach. Don't look to finding this one answer, look to becoming a well educated professional in all aspects of video production before using this software. This is not a quick fix, it is a proper months or even years long method (depending on the degree you wish to attain).
As I said, for those without such dedication, there are consumer programs out there.
And of course, there is always the option of hiring a professional to do the job. We depend on folks like yourself to earn a living. Nothing wrong with supporting us. -
Some videos are not showing in my Apple TV playlists after upgrade to 6.0. They were there prior to upgrade and I can play on Macbook itunes and also using using airplay to Apple TV. Anybody else have this issue?
Ok, so I'll try again. Thank you for the idea of looking in Home Videos, which is where all my "lost" videos are listed.
Is there a way to get them to display under their appropriate genre in the Movie section, which is where they all were listed prior to the os6 update? It does me no good to have hundreds of movies categorized in iTunes via a genre only to have them appear in Home Videos on ATV. These are not "home movies." They are legit mp4 movies that worked great under v5. -
My iPhoto videos are not showing up in iMovie? I have quit, shut down my Mac and they still are not showing up? What can I do to resolve this?
It is also posible to go back to the imovie you had before, it is still on your computer - you go to Finder and it is in a folder in your programs. Many others have gone back to the old program, and perhaps I am also going to do that too.
In the new imovie it does not come up the question "do you want to download these videos ...."
You shall in imovie open your iphotolibrary in top on the left side,( it is standing under libraries) and you can see all the events you have in iphoto, then you can open the event, you shall use and drag the movies and pictures from the events in iphoto to an events in imovie. If you can,t see your libraries, you can click on a show button on top of the left side.
On the picture you see here iphoto is market on the top of the left side and the pictures to the left is my iphoto-events - and there I can open the one I shall use, and find my movies.

Video does not show on iPad in reflowable epub
I placed a video in my InDesign file, as an FXL it works just fine, but when I export to reflowable epub, the video does not show on the iPad (I only see a blanc container), it only shows in iBooks on the desktop... Help, what am I doing wrong, am I missing something?

I have read your post on how your video will not show picture, but the audio will work on your Windows 8.1 computer. Does the video appear and then disappear using media player software? Does this occur when streaming videos on YouTube? Did you perform Windows or HP updates before this issue occured? Does the entire screen go blank, turn a different color or just show blank on the video window you are attempting to view? I would be happy to help you, but first I would encourage you to post your product number for your computer. Video files not showing up in FR
Hi all, this is my first Mac. So far I'm loving it, God only knows why I didn't make the switch sooner.
Most of my video-library consists of the following video file types; .avi, .mov, .mpg and .mpg.
Reading some topics, I found that as long as QT could play these files given the proper codecs, FR would have no problem playing them, too.
So I looked around and found out about Perian - worked to perfection, QT can now play all files.
Problem is, when I place any type of file, including .mov's, in the proper Movies folder it does not show up in FR. The only way I can get files to show up in FR is to add them via iTunes, and the only files I can add to iTunes are .mov's and .mpg's.
Does anyone know why my Movies folder is not "in sync" with FR?There you go. The other user short name! I never tried that, because I assumed the Movies folder that was in the sidebar from default would be the one. But yeah, all I did was create a Movies folder in the user short name (since there wasn't one to begin with) and voila! Thanks a lot!
And about making saves as reference movies - thanks for that advice, it's been very helpful in getting me started organizing my digital video library.
Still have some qualms about FR, though. The way videos are organized ... been playing with it for several hours today and here are some of my issues:
I like to keep my stuff organized ... I like the fact that I have the option of using either FR or iTunes (cover flow), so that's the route I'm taking using both. Already, things get complicated.
My video media is basically in three groups: movies, TV shows and music (music videos, concerts, etc.).
First off, I've decided to use the FR-designated Movies folder only for saved movie references. This is to avoid clutter, so the actual files are not in the Movies folder. Is this a wise idea? I'll tell you the basis for this decision.
When I first started organizing the files I found that any video placed in the Movies folder shows up in FR under .... yup, Videos->Movies. Be it music videos or anything TV shows. I don't like that. For everything that's not categorized as a movie, I'd like for those files to end up in their proper sub-menu in FR, but they don't. In iTunes, they are all in their proper place, because I've edited all the info so it looks neat and orderly.
Is there a way around that? What I've done to make it seem cleaner, is in the Movies folder with all the saved reference movies, I've organized it like this:
(user short name)/Movies/
- Movie A, Movie B, Movie C
- Other (folder containing all non-movies video files)
So all the files in Other has been correctly arranged via iTunes, so these files show up in the correct sub-menu in FR.
What I mean is that they show up twice in FR, once because they're in the Movies folder and then another time (this is what I want), because I've directed them to a specific category via iTunes, e.g. music videos. I only want them to show up once, not in sub-menu Movies of FR, but either TV Shows or Music Videos ... make any sense?
Please don't tell me it isn't possible, or maybe advice me a better way to organize it.
Also, I'm having trouble getting some files to play. They play fine in QT, but if I change some info in iTunes they won't play in FR ... and the preview thumbnail is just black.
And lastly, wow ... there is a lot of load time, when you start FR up ... it's weird, sometimes there is none, sometimes I'll have to wait two minutes once I've gone by the main menu. I thought using saved movie references would help the load time, since the actual library is not in the designated FR-folder.
That's basically it for now ... 1) organizational troubles 2) playback troubles and 3) load time.
