Video not displaying correctly in published presenter project
So I created a presenter project that is basically a series of video clips. I went in and replaced one of the video clips, and when I republished, all of the sudden the video was cropped weirdly and filled up one corner of the screen instead of the entire section. Any ideas on why this is happening? In the powerpoint view, the video should cover the entire slide, it's just when I publish it for playback that this problem appears.
when you publish a project, other files that you did place manual in the folder ( like video files), don't get inside the published files, you have to copy the video from the source files to the published files

Muse site not displaying correctly when 'Published' to BC
Hi all
Strange incidents happening with a Muse site I'm designing for a client. When I use the Publish feature (which uploads the site to the default Business Catalyst domain you get with the Muse subscription) it throws the elements all over the place, so buttons, type, imaegry and widgets aren't wheere they should be.
I've cleared the cache, restarted the browser, tried in other browsers and still the same result, so pretty unhappy.
When I 'Preview' the site in a browser everything seems perfect.
Bizarre thing is when designing my first ste the opposite was the case; lots of visual problems when using 'Preview' but perfect when 'Published' to BC.
Anyone got any ideas as to why this is happening?
All help appreciatedHi gaurav
Thanks for the reply, think we have the solution. Apparantly Muse is not uploading the updated CSS files. I created a test domain on my own website to use for this project and uploaded via Fetch and everything worked fine.
So it looks like it's an issue with Muse

Published software simulation not displaying correctly when published
Hello,
When viewing a Captivate 6 software simulation either through the Preview mode or when published, screens will 'break up' at different points - part of the previous screen will stay in view when it moves to the next screen. This doesn't happen for the first couple of times it is viewed, which is a worry as you never know who/when it is going to happen.
Once the projects is copied over to a new blank project it will be fine for a few views and then do the same again - it is not always at the same place.
Does anyone know what may be causing this?
Thanks,You might try de-selecting the Advanced Project Compression option in the preferences:

Videos not displaying after I move the project
I had to move my project file to a new PC. I had videos linked in a few slides using progressive download and linking to the file.
On a page with a video, the video just appears as a grey boc even though the link has the filename.
How do i fix this - do I need re-insert the videos or just move the folder with the videos along with the project file.
Also if I want to publish out to an LMS, will the publish make sure all the videos are included or is there a specifc setting that I need to use?
Many thanks,
FionaAre the videos already deployed to a separate web server or are they to be uploaded along with your Captivate project? If it is the latter then make sure that you only reference the filename without any path for each of the videos in your Captivate project file.

Video not displaying correctly
The video's seem to not fit in the screens correctly. Started only on internet explorer and now on firefox. Chrome seems to be the only one I can watch any type of video clip on. It's like the picture is too large so I see a huge distorted nose when I should see the full body of a person. I have uninstalled adobe and reinstalled to no avail. Checked all my drivers and they are up to date. All the help searches are coming up with nothing and I am tired of searching. Is there a bug with the latest flash player? I have explorer 11 and windows 7. Running on 32 bit.
Any help would be amazing!!You probably have an issue with Flash, so should ask your question on a forum for the Flash Player

Type not displaying correctly when publishing
I have a Flash MX file which I created a couple of years ago.
I edited it (in MX) and when I published the .swf, the type only
displayed every other letter or so. Any one know what the problem
is and how to fix it. The type face was Avante Garde Italic, if
that matters.Ignore. Have found out it was down to paths. Sorted

[email protected]Try this without the border images and it will work in all browsers with increased text size. That's assuming eBay supports embedded CSS styles (which I'm not convinced they do). Inline styles are safer IMHO.

Aligned Form Fields Do Not Display Correctly Where Visible Borders Overlap?
I'm on creating some forms & checklists for the company I work for to simplify our project workflow. When adding text fields to the form I'd like to add borders to segregate the various fields & make the form more presentable.
The problem I'm having, is that I'm unable to place fields immediately adjacent one another without leaving a gap. If I do & use the snap to grid option, aligning the top of one field with bottom of another, it does not display correctly when printed. The border lines appear to have differing thicknesses where they touch & this makes the form look terrible. Currently I'm having to create the borders in an excel spreadsheet, convert to pdf & add borderless fields within the pre printed borders. While this gives me the look i want, if I later want to add to or amend the form I have to start from scratch first modifying the initial excel layout which is too time consuming. I'm using Acrobat X Pro. Any assistance appreciated.
Regards
JohnThere are at least two techniques to allow you to change the underlying layout and remake the static part of the PDF, without having to redo the form fields (except new ones, and moving as needed).
That is replace pages and copy-paste of form fields. -
Accented characters do not display correctly if there is a variable beside it
Hello,
We are experiencing a problem when we have text with accented characters an a variable beside it within the same text box.
The problem is that the accented characters in the text do not display correctly in the preview or publised course to Flash9
These characters display correctly in Captivate in edit mode.
This is the process we have followed:
Export to XML
Translated
Import XML
Publish to Flash9
Captivate version: 4
OS: Windows Vista SP2
We have tried to work with locale in Spanish with no luck, the only solution we have found is to put the text and the variable in different text boxes
I have pasted an image of the preview and also of the text in Captivate edit mode.
Any help will be very welcomed !
TessHi there
I agree with Lilybiri that you should definitely file a Bug Report.
However, a thought occurs here. Have you tried placing the accented text in a User Defined variable?
Assuming this is a workaround, my thought is that you could then just have a caption with two variables. The User Defined variable containing the accented text followed immediately by the system variable providing the Project Name.
Cheers... Rick

This Connection is Untrusted
You have asked Firefox to connect securely to smf.crm.red.com, but we can't confirm that your connection is secure.
Same problem in Firefox.
Normally, when you try to connect securely, sites will present trusted identification to prove that you are going to the right place. However, this site's identity can't be verified.
What Should I Do?
If you usually connect to this site without problems, this error could mean that someone is trying to impersonate the site, and you shouldn't continue.Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you turn on the computer, and again when you log in.
Note: If FileVault is enabled in OS X 10.9 or earlier, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to start up and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal startup may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually login automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test. -
Report does not display correctly when exported to adobe
Post Author: mgisonda
CA Forum: Crystal Reports
Hopefully someone can help me. I am currently running Crystal Reports profession version 10. I have applied service pack 1 and recently service pack 6. I am having a problem with the display of a report within adobe. My report is a bit complex. It is a 8.5x11 one page landscape report. It is set up in a grid format with multiple lines and boxes drawn on it. Here is the report information: Report Definition----
Number of Database Fields: 144 Number of On-Demand Formulas: 40 UFLs in use: None Page N of M Used: No File Format Schema: 10.2.0 I created the report using CR developer. I use the report within a web project. The user requests the report and it returns to the user, an adobe file of the report. However, this is where I am having trouble. On my local development machine, the report displays fine. In CR developer, the report displays fine. When I export the report to Adobe from the CR Developer, it exports fine. BUT when I run the report from my web site, the adobe file that is returned is broken up over 42 pages. What seems to be actually happening is the return adobe file seems to think that the page size is 2in X 4in.. Where it got that, I don't know.The server running IIS is a windows server 2003. It has adobe 8.0 reader on it. I also have Crystal 10 Server Distribution loaded on it. And I have loaded CR10 Service pack 6 on that as well. Below is the web code that is used to display the report:Imports CrystalDecisions.Shared'Imports CrystalDecisions.CrystalReportsImports CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.EngineImports CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine.ReportClassPublic Class PrintInspectionLayout Inherits System.Web.UI.Page Private Sub Page_Load(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles MyBase.Load Dim mNotInSpringDesign As String Dim mPartType As String mNotInSpringDesign = Request.QueryString("NotInSpringDesign") If mNotInSpringDesign = "TRUE" Then mStockCode = Request.QueryString("StockCode") lblNotInSpringDesign.Text = "Stock Code #: " & mStockCode & " does not exist in Spring Design." lblNotInSpringDesign.Visible = True Response.Write("<br><br><br><br><br><font color='blue'><center><a href='SpringDesignWildCardSearch.aspx'>Go To Search Page</a></center></font>") Else mStockCode = Request.QueryString("StockCode") Dim pList As ParameterValues = New ParameterValues Dim paramName, paramValue As String Dim pV As ParameterDiscreteValue = New ParameterDiscreteValue Dim Report As ReportDocument= New ReportDocument Dim expOpts As ExportOptions = New ExportOptions Dim pdfRtfWordFormatOpts As PdfRtfWordFormatOptions = expOpts.CreatePdfRtfWordFormatOptions Dim expFormatOpts As ExportFormatOptions = expOpts.ExportFormatOptions expOpts.ExportFormatType = ExportFormatType.PortableDocFormat mPartType = Request.QueryString("PartType") 'SELECT THE INSPECTION LAYOUT TYPE TO PRINT Select Case mPartType Case Is = "C" Report.Load(MapPath("./Reports/CompressionLayout.rpt")) 'Report.Load(MapPath("./Reports/PCAR.rpt")) Case Is = "E" Report.Load(MapPath("./Reports/ExtensionLayout.rpt")) Case Is = "T" Report.Load(MapPath("./Reports/TorsionLayout.rpt")) Case Is = "W" Report.Load(MapPath("./Reports/WasherLayout.rpt")) Case Is = "F" Report.Load(MapPath("./Reports/FreeFormLayout.rpt")) Case Else End Select pV.Value = mStockCode pList.Add(pV) Report.DataDefinition.ParameterFields("StockCode").ApplyCurrentValues(pList) Response.ClearContent() Response.ClearHeaders() Response.ContentType = "Application/pdf" Report.ExportToHttpResponse(expOpts, Response, False, "") Report.Close() End If End Sub Any ideas as to the solution? Why is it not displaying correctly? I have spent two days researching every FAQ to try to find an answer, but to no avail. Please any help would be greatly appreciated. ThanksMikeHi Paul
You're more likely to get an answer to this if you post in the UNIX forum.
By the looks of it, you may have a problem with your fonts. -
Report Links in OBIEE 11g Dashboard not displayed correctly
In the Dashboard pages the Report Links for Export are not displayed correctly .
Instead of showing the multiple options for export/download it shows just text.It can be done by doing below steps.
1) before doing this take a backup of instanconfig.xml file and do the below changes...
You can configure various options that change the way that right-click interactions are handled in views for an analysis at runtime. The elements in the instanceconfig.xml file specify the default settings for a new or upgraded analysis. You can edit the properties of an analysis in Presentation Services to modify how the analysis handles right-click interactions in views.
Before you begin this procedure, ensure that you are familiar with the information in Section 3.4, "Using a Text Editor to Update Configuration Settings."
To manually configure for interactions in views:
2) C:\Oracle\Middleware\instances\instance1\config\OracleBIPresentationServicesComponent\coreapplication_obips1\instanceconfig.xml
Open the instanceconfig.xml file for editing,
3)
Locate the sections in which you must add the elements
Include the elements and their ancestor elements as appropriate, as shown in the following example:
<ServerInstance>
<Analysis>
<InteractionProperties>
<InteractionPropertyAddRemoveValues>false</InteractionPropertyAddRemoveValues>
<InteractionPropertyCalcItemOperations>false</InteractionPropertyCalcItemOperations>
<InteractionPropertyDrill>false</InteractionPropertyDrill>
<InteractionPropertyGroupOperations>false</InteractionPropertyGroupOperations>
<InteractionPropertyInclExclColumns>false</InteractionPropertyInclExclColumns>
<InteractionPropertyMoveColumns>false</InteractionPropertyMoveColumns>
<InteractionPropertyRunningSum>false</InteractionPropertyRunningSum>
<InteractionPropertyShowHideSubTotal>false</InteractionPropertyShowHideSubTotal>
<InteractionPropertySortColumns>false</InteractionPropertySortColumns>
</InteractionProperties>
</Analysis>
</ServerInstance>
4) Save your changes and close the file.
5)
Restart Oracle Business Intelligence.
Mark as correct if it is helpful :)
Thanks. -
FLV videos not playing correctly in Captivate 6
I am running into an issue where my FLV video is not playing correctly when my Captivate project is exported out and saved to the web. The FLV video is about 20 mins long (~100 MB) and it is being streamed from Kaltura. The FLV video is inputted into the Captivate project as a multi-slide synchronized video across 27 slides. The slides themselves are imported from Powerpoint. The problem that we are running into is that the Captivate project and the FLV video play correctly when viewed with decent bandwidth, but they do not appear to play correctly for users with slower bandwidth. However, if a user views the videos independently of Captivate, they can view the videos correctly, even at slower bandwidth. I have tried hosting the Captivate files on several different webservers, including an LMS. But the issue continues and I'm searching for any type of answers that might help.
Thanks for reading and any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated.
NathanNathan,
Your welcome, if that is the case, then can you try and insert the MultiSlide Video, you can insert the streaming video URL.
You can add the server to you computer as network Drive and then browser to that location, once you do that, the options to add the Video as Streaming can be chose and your Vidoe would remain insync with main playbar, users can play and pause content that way.
See if this can be implemented at your end.
Thanks,

Thai characters not displaying correctly within App
Hi everyone,
I have a Adobe Flex Mobile app displays Thai text, however this is not displaying correctly. While developing the App on my Windows machine and testing using the Adobe Flash Builder mobile emulator, the font/characters look correct.
However when running the app on either the MAC Adobe Flash Builder emulator, the iPhone simulator or on an actual iPhone, the font/characters are incorrect.
First I thought that it was maybe an encoding issue (I am using locale properties files to replace text), so followed instructions at this website Flash Builder, Flex language bundles showing strange symbols. Not utf8 encoded.Sefol however this did not solve the issue.
Looking more closely at the text rendered, it looks as though all of the characters for each word are actually being rendered, but they are just being rendered in correctly. Where as if it was a encoding issue then it would be missing characters completely.
So if you look at the first character, in the correct version it is built up of 3 components. If you look at the second image, you can see that these three components are present but just not all appearing within one character.
Is this a font issue? or is it actually an encoding/rendering issue?
My code for testing this is just a simple label tag
<s:Label text="ชื่อผู้ใช้" fontFamily="Arial" fontSize="12" />
Many thanks.Ok so after doing a bit more of an investigation into the Font being the issue and not the encoding type, it seems as though if I use a specific font which I know has the Thai characters, then they are displayed correctly.
I have embedded the font into the App using the code:
[Embed(source="../assets/Kinnari.ttf", mimeType="application/x-font", embedAsCFF="true", fontFamily="ThaiFont")]
private var ThaiFont:Class;
Then on my UI I have added the font:
<s:Label text="ชื่อผู้ใช้" fontFamily="Arial" fontSize="12" fontFamily="ThaiFont" />
I was able to find this font at a Hawaiian Educational website! Thai fonts :: Thai Language Program, University of Hawai'i, Manoa
Thanks @tooMuchTrouble for your help.

Why on earth would FW strip a photo's exif data when exporting? Web graphics are sometimes contractually required to retain metadata. This opens users up to liability if they don't realize that a photographer's credit is removed during compression. I
