Video not transfering to Itunes

Can someone help me, I'm having trouble transferring a couple of videos to itunes as well as my 60g video ipod. When I drag the file over it doesn't appear, even when i go to file -> add file it doesn't appear....I've transferred a couple of videos before this. I don't know if it has something to do with the size, but the one that works is 34.4megs and the others are over 36megs and up. They are the same file format as the ones i already transferred. If anyone can help, I'll gladly appreciate it.

to play on the iPod the specification states that they also need to comply with:
H.264 video: up to 768 Kbps, 320 x 240, 30 frames per sec., Baseline Profile up to Level 1.3 with AAC-LC up to 160 Kbps, 48 Khz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4 and .mov file formats
MPEG-4 video: up to 2.5 mbps, 480 x 480, 30 frames per sec., Simple Profile with AAC-LC up to 160 Kbps, 48 Khz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4 and .mov file formats
you should be able to see this by inspection in quicktime

  • Why can't i add playlists to my iPhone from my mac while they are connected? I keep getting the following message "some items (meaning all of them) were not transferred because iTunes match is enabled." This is incredibly frustrating.

I keep getting the following message "some items (meaning all of them) were not transferred because iTunes match is enabled." when I try to drag and drop a playlist, song, or album to my iPhone. This was NEVER a problem before iTunes match or the last iOS update. So what is the deal? Why can't i just add music to my phone from the mac? There is space on the phone. The only way I have found to get the music i want to the phone is to have it download from the phone. This is not something i want to have to do: go through and manually add every album and recreate a playlist on the phone when its there on the mac. And, even more irritating, since the new update, when the phone is plugged into the mac i can't actually view from the mac what music is on the phone. This is incredibly frustrating and any help would be much appreciated in managing my music libraries for each device.

    Hi,
You cannot manually manage music with match turned on on your iOS device. If you want to manage music manually, you will need to turn off match on your iPhone.

  • MPEG-4 video not transfering to 5.5G iPod

I just got this and plugged it in. For some reason, my videos in my "TV Shows" section won't transfer because "they aren't supported". I used HandBreak to convert the video and they are in MPEG-4. I'm a bit confused because the other MPEG-4 videos I have in iTunes (Movies and Music Videos) all transfered over. Any ideas?

    Hope this solves your question,
    Video podcasts
While downloaded through iTunes, video podcasts are actually provided by individual podcast authors and in some cases may not be playable on the iPod. If the podcast is correctly encoded it will sync to the iPod without issue.
    Other video sources
Videos that were not purchased from the iTunes Store are typically not in a format that is playable on the iPod, but in many cases, they can be converted to the correct format using iTunes 6.0.2 or later or with QuickTime 7 Pro. To convert your movie to a compatible format follow one of the procedures below:
Converting movies to iPod in iTunes 6.0.2 or later
Creating Video for iPod tutorial using QuickTime 7 Pro
If you're using a Mac with QuickTime 7.0.4 or later installed, you can use iMovie and other applications to export a movie to a format supported by the iPod and then add it your iTunes Library. Click here for an iMovie HD tutorial.

  • Video not transferring

I've had an iPod 5th generation for less than a month and already I've encountered a problem. I used to have many videos on my ipod, but they have been deleted. They are kept in itunes, but when I connect my iPod I am told that they are not compatible and so were not transferred. However, they already were on my ipod, and played with no problems. When I try to use itunes to convert them for use on iPod, I am told that they are already compatible. Every time I delete the offending videos, itunes tell me that some others do not work. I've tried updating and restoring the ipod, but it didn't help. Can anyone help me?

    Also...
Connect the iPod and go to edit-->preferenes. Click the iPod tab. Click the videos tab under that. Make sure automatically update all videos is selected.

  • Video not working in itunes 9.2

    Hi
I hope anyone can help please. I upgraded my iTunes on Windows 7 to iTunes 9.2. Then upgraded my iPhone 3G to iOS 4. Since then I have been unable to play my purchased videos. Just a black screen appears and nothing happens.Even when I try to play a video preview in the "iTunes Store" nothing happens. Please advise?

If I read the specifications correctly, both the second generation (aka, "802.11n (1st generation )) and third generation (aka, "802.11n (2nd generation )) AirPort Express do not support Airtunes on OS v10.5.6 and earlier.

  • Videos not playing in iTunes 7, where can I get previous version of iTunes

Since "upgrading" to iTunes 7, I can't get any of my videos to play in iTunes--they show up but nothing happens when I try to play them. This includes videos I bought via iTunes and DVDs I imported using Handbrake. I didn't upgrade to Quicktime 7 because I was afraid it would cause even more problems for the movies spent hours importing. So I have two questions:
    (1) If I get the upgrade to Quicktime 7, will that allow my videos to play?
    (2) If not, how can I revert back to the earlier version of iTunes? I have tried searching the forums and have found some information about how to remove iTunes 7, but can't find where to download the previous version (would that be 6.05--I can't remember).
    Please help! Thanks.

Never mind. I found iTunes 6.05 in the Downloads section of the Apple page. Now I'm back, thank God.

  • Apps not transferring from iTunes to iPod

I tried to find a thread about this but couldn't so here goes:
I just bought an iPhone and have found a bunch of apps that i downloaded on my computer's iTunes.
But when I sync my iPhone the apps are not transferred onto the phone. I tried downloading some of them directly from the phone and a message telling me that I already downloaded this app shows up, I can then get it again, but the idea was that I would find them on my mac, and then transfer them to the phone.
There is no error message during syncing, the apps just don't show up.

Are you sure that they aren't on another page of your homescreen?

  • Purchased Music NOT transferring from ITunes to IPod

AArgh. I have an older version of IPod (non-clickwheel) with the latest vesion of IPod Software (2.2) installed AND ITunes 6.0 AND I've repaired permissions, restarted, all the common troubleshooting actions taken place.
My Purchased from ITunes music is not transferring at all to my Ipod. At one point even though I had the latest software I would get a message saying my Ipod Software was out of date , but that's not true.
    ????

I am having the same problem, but I just got a new 4th generation 20GB because my old one died. So I tried transferring my library onto the new iPod and it won't transfer any of the songs that I bought on iTunes. The error message says that my software is too old, but I just updated it numerous times. What is going on!?!?

  • Purchased videos not playing in iTunes

Hello, recently my purchased TV shows are not playing in iTunes. Video window comes up, and the play time increases, but there is no video or sound.
If I go into "C:\Users\Derek\Music\iTunes\iTunes Music\TV Shows\" and open the m4v file in QuickTime the videos play just fine. (they just refuse to play in iTunes)
    Any ideas?
PS: I'm on latest version of both iTunes and QT (just checked).

    Any ideas?

  • Videos not syncing with iTunes on Windows 7

I have been using my iPhone 4 as a camcorder a lot lately and I have tons of videos of my kids that I would like to start putting together for a DVD. The only problem is that iTunes doesn't sync the movies from my camera roll.
Thankfully Windows 7 allows me to open up my iPhone 4 image directory every time I connect, so I can go in there and manually transfer the videos. However, this is a pain that I shouldn't need to endure.
With my iPhone connected and selected in iTunes, I went to the "Photos" tab of iTunes and checked the box to "sync movies." The movies still do not sync.
Message was edited by: killerbear (changed "role" to "roll")

The word "Sync" seems to be misleading. Synchronizing is making 2 sources match each other. This apparently is not what iTunes does. It's really disappointing to find this out. Especially when I am locked out of so many areas of my phone when accessing the phone from my computer.
It is a sync process that is mostly a transfer process with some data kept synchronized by definition with a supported application on your computer such as with contacts, calendar events, notes, and Safari bookmarks, and all other data being a transfer process only. All iTunes content is a transfer process and the same for photos transferred from your computer. iTunes does not handle the importing of photos from any digital camera including from the iPhone's Camera Roll. Some people prefer storing photos imported from a digital camera on their computer manually, and some prefer using a photo storage application such as iPhoto or Aperture on a Mac.

  • IPod video not recognized by iTunes after bad disconnect

I recently disconnected my iPod without ejecting it first, (disk mode is enabled), and I had done it a few times before without a problem, so I figured why not. But this time it didn't work out. All of my music, videos etc are seemingly erased from the iPod, and only one thing remains - the few notes files (song lyrics) that I had on it. The iPod is no longer recognized in iTunes.. but I suppose windows recognizes it, except it seems to treat it just as a mass storage device or something. I ran the diagnostics test here:

I can't restore it because it doesn't show up in iTunes, and I've tried all the support suggestions on the main page. Anyone have any idea what the problem is?

Ok, since my last post I messed around a bit more. I found that dragging the F drive that the iPod was in from windows explorer to iTunes that iTunes recognized it, but said it was corrupted. So I tried to restore it, but I got error 1418. So I reset my computer, tried restoring again, and it worked. I thought I had it figured out but iTunes says its still corrupted. I figure this is something I'm certainly going to have to send to apple to have fixed?

  • IPod Video not recognized by iTunes

    hello,
I just got my iPod Video 60G. I currently have USB 1.1 as part of my computer. When I plug it in to any of those ports, iPod works fine. However, I decided to get a PCI USB 2.0 card so I can improve the performance of the iPod. When I plug the iPod in those USB ports, the iPod does not get picked up in iTunes. As well, it only shows as a Generic Drive in MyComputer, as opposed to the name that was assigned to the iPod like it does when I plug it into the USB 1.1 ports.
I'm not sure if this is an iPod issue or a USB port issue. I tried plugging other devices into these USB drives and they work fine.
I don't want to start removing and resetting things before I know what the problem is.
    Please help...
    Thanks.
      Windows XP

Try reinstalling the iPod software and then connect your iPod in the USB2. Maybe the software picks up what connection you have and currently only will recognize the USB1.

  • How do I identify items purchased on iPad but not transferred to iTunes library?

In attempting to update the iOS on my iPad from 4.3 to 4.3.2, I get a message that I have items purchased on my iPad that have not been transferred to my iTunes library. It asks me if I want to continue with the update, or cancel it and first transfer my items purchased to my iTunes library before updating my iOS.
I have attempted to transfer these items in 2 ways. I have right-clicked my device in iTunes and selected "Transfer purchases", and a screen opens that tells me that it is transferring purchases to my iTunes library, but the sync completes very quickly and I suspect that nothing is synced. I also have used the File/Transfer Purchases from iPad menu in iTunes with the same result (message that it is transferring purchases, but the sync completes immediately). Yet every time I try to update to iOS 4.3.2 I get the same message that I have items purchased on my iPad that need to be transferred to my iTunes library.
At this point in time, I am uncertain whether I really do have items purchased on my iPad that need to be transferred to my iTunes library. Or if in fact I do, how do I identify such items as the Transfer Purchases approaches I have used in iTunes isn't transferring those items?
I could brute force it and maually compare every song and app I have purchased from iTunes to make sure they exist in my library, but with hundreds of apps and songs purchased, that could be a very time-consuming proposition. Ideas, anyone?

I've gotten this message with the last two upgrades. After 'transferring' purchases, it continued to appear.
I just disregarded the warning and everything seems fine now.

  • Videos not playing in itunes HELP

So I downgraded my iTunes 11 to 10.6 since I hate the new interface. But I've come with two roadblocks.
    1) videos that I've purchased OR i want to preview before purchase will not play. they are just black screens and the timer does not move, there is no audio, no anything. when i re upgrade to 11, everything is fine. but i want my 10.6 back.
    2) EVERY TIME i try to play a video, regardless of what video in my iTunes, it prompts me to authorize my computer and I enter my information, but it prompts me every single time, followed by the message that 1 out of the 5 computers you can authorize is authorized.
    anyone help : (

Never mind. I found iTunes 6.05 in the Downloads section of the Apple page. Now I'm back, thank God.
