Hello I am trying to import a series of short video clips to be used in a mobile application on the ipad...
I am unsuccessful in getting them to play correctly full screen on the app...
I have tried different H.264 outputs and F4V settings, I can get the videos to play no problem but I can't get them to play full screen which is a problem because i want multiple videos on the same page...
I have two different videos, both in .mp4 and one displays full screen and the other not (and the controller settings are the same)...
What is the best output for displaying videos full screen on an ipad?

There are some Apps you can use, but be careful they will only download these videos inside the App, so you won't ba able to play them in your video app or share them.
Most popular is the app called "Video Download" but there are a lot of alternatives for free and even with more quality which you can pay for.

Browser apps such as Skyfire claim to support flash bu their reviews are mixed. Also some websites, especially news sites, have their own apps in the App Store, so you could check to see if any of your favoutrite sites have apps.

Are you referring to being in Airplane Mode, or on an actual aircraft? If you purchased a movie, you would need to download it to the device, and would need to do that while you could still connect to the Internet.

I have uploaded iPhone 4s .mov files from iPhone 4s to Windows Home Server 2011. The iphone can play these back but the iPad Safari reports downloading but does nothing after that. Will not play video. I can email the iPhone 4s video to iPad 2 and view the video but just not through web browser.

I think your MOV files are compatible with the iPad, but are not recognized as being compatible in Safari. This is something that should be reported by providing feedback to Apple at <iPad Feedback>. If more people report the problem, Apple is more likely to fix it.
To work around the problem, you can convert the MOV files to MP4, which should be compatible. One program that can do this conversion is HandBrake. <Download HandBrake>

To copy photos and videos to your computer that were taken with the iPad, copied to it via the camera connection kit, or saved from emails/websites then see this page - on a PC you can use the windows camera wizard.
To copy photos and videos in the Photos app that were originally synced from a computer you will need a third-party app such as Simple Transfer which can copy them off via your wifi network. But as photos are 'optimised' when they are synced to the iPad, any that you then copy back to a computer may not be exactly the same as they originally were on your computer.
If you are going to restore to your last backup then you may also want to copy any purchases from the iPad to your computer's iTunes via File > Transfer Purchases.

Cannot Stream Video from iPad on AppleTV - Media Server Apps via Airplay

Need help on this one. Am using iPad 4th gen - Apple TV 3rd Gen and iPhone 4S. (all latest firmware)
Last week was streaming video via Airplay using GoodPlayer and ArkMC apps on iPad to stream from my NAS (WD MyBookLive) via DNLA media server to Apple TV - Worked Amazing
Upgraded firmware on appleTV.
I can no longer stream via Airplay from these apps - Airplay Icon appears - I can Select the Apple TV device for airplay (Checked - icon is blue). But no image on apple TV - video image stays on device.
Full reboot of both AppleTV and iPad.
Other software using server type setup (ex.:EMIT app) work perfectly and streaming directly from video on iPad works perfectly. (need to turn on the server on the computer though) or airplay enabled web sites and/or apps seem to work well also.
Mirroring works but the video is not full screen and wrong ratio.
Any clues ? I've lost this one.

Apparently what is happening, and this was brought up in another thread, and what I suspected was happening as well, is that the iPhone/iPad/iPod touch is not streaming the video itself directly to the AppleTV (it might be streaming it if it's audio only, haven't confirmed). What it's apparently doing is, is telling the AppleTV2 to download the video and play it on its own, starting with xx:xx timestamp directly from youtube or your iTunes library. This is why it's only working with your iTunes library or the built-in YouTube app. And also why it wouldn't work with the camera roll, because it isn't streaming directly from the iPhone. So it's not exactly what we were originally thinking or expecting.

Try hooking your iPad up to your computer, then use windows explorer to navigate to your iPad. Your computer should see the iPad's camera roll as just another camera. You may need to poke around in folders but see if you can find the one that has your video in it. Then simply drag and drop from your iPad to your computer.
Then use the editing program of your choice to work with it.

Hello. I have AV player hd. When I touch and hold the Quicktime icon that is in a received mail message, a prompt comes up "Open in AVPlayerHD". I click on that and a black screen opens up with the following on it:
1--A red line at the top with a short white slider button on the right hand side. There is a time listed at each end of the red line that says 00:00
2--On the left hand side of the screen, near the middle, there are 4 icons, a colored 'x', a dialogue icon, a circular arrow and an 'i' in a circle.
3--On the right hand side there is a + and a - sign with '1.00x' in the middle of the two.
4--At the bottom of the black screen is a play icon plus forward and fast forward icons.
When I press the play icon it changes to a stop icon.
So, even though I have AV player I cannot play this Quicktime slideshow.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

yes I have big problems as soon as I open the video app i get a total black screen, even the upper bar with the time disappears. I already tried to:
1. closing the app and reopen it
2. restart the iPad
3. restore the iPad via iTunes
4. Begging the app to work again.

Uploading photos and videos to your computer
You can upload the photos and videos you take with Camera to photo applications on your computer, such as iPhoto on a Mac.
Upload photos and videos to your computer: Connect iPad to your computer using the Dock Connector to USB Cable.
Â Mac: Select the photos and videos you want, then click the Import or Download button in iPhoto or other supported photo application on your computer.
Â PC: Follow the instructions that came with your photo application. If you delete the photos and videos from iPad when you upload them to your computer, they’re removed from your Camera Roll album. You can use the Photos settings pane in iTunes to sync photos and videos to the Photos app on iPad (videos can be synced only with a Mac). See “Syncing with iTunes” on page 20.
