Video on Top of Image

Before I ask 'how' I'll ask if this is possible within
Captivate (hopefully I can explain what I want to do).
I would like to display a static image (e.g. a screen shot of
one of our agent tools) and then, from the side, have a video file
showing a person as if they are walking on screen (from off
screen). I don't want it to be a video 'box' but more like how a TV
Weatherman is superimposed over a map.
Does that make sense? So, is it possible to do with
Captivate? Do I need another Adobe program to make that happen?

Since Presenter is not a video production tool, I think you
have been
misdirected.
Here's the nutshell version of what you need to do.
1, Record the video - or source some from somewhere ;-)
2, But actually, you need to prepare first - you've heard of
Green Screen,
right? You need to be able to record your walk-on video
against a
solid-coloured background, typically a screen that is green,
but you can use
blue or whatever too.
3, Once the video is recorded, you need to bring it into a
video editing
tool so that you can remove the green background and make the
video
background transparent. Two tools from Adobe that you can use
to do this are
Premier and After Effects. They are both video editing tools
- Premier is
good for all your editing needs, AE is more targeted at
adding special
affects and is actually more powerful in this regard than
Premier, but not
so well suited for editing large videos.
4, You can then export the video in a format that retains
transparency
information and is compatible with Adobe Flash. The process
of converting
the video (say, AVI) to a Flash Video file is trivial, and it
will result i
a transparent video image that can be imported straight into
Captivate.
The above steps are relatively trivial to anyone who has
worked on this sort
of thing, but it can feel like a mountainous task if you are
trying to take
on the entire task yourself. It might be cheaper and easier
for you to
source a local expert who can record/edit the video for you
and then hand
you a file on DVD that you can process with Flash and import
to Captivate.
You don't really *have* to use Adobe tools for your editing
as there are
many video editing options out there, but you do have to be
sure you are
using something that can do the do on your green screen
stuff. :-)

  • Inserting Windows Media video file on top of image

Can anyone tell me how to get a windows media file inserted on top of an image? I did it once by making the image the page background, but that prevented me from being able to create hotspots on the image for links. Now the 2nd time around, I have the image placed through the Insert command but can't figure out how to insert the video on top of it. Click below to see the two examples. Thanks.

I know there are different options for embedding video. I started off with WM to see how well it may work. If I have any problems, I may try converting it fo to another format such as flash, or even uploading it to a youtube site and embedding the code. Thanks for the advice.

  • Adobe Bridge displays icons on top of image in Full screen view

Icons like RAR, txt files if any in that folder. Bridge 4.0.5.11 Windows XP SP3.

Do you mean option sort By Filename, By Type and so on..
This does not solve the problem, still icon appear on top of image
Anyway, my idea is not to complain but to report this issue. I can live with that.

  • How do I add video in my Photoshop images and graphics? I need it to play in Adobe Acrobat when I'm done.

I designed an electronic press kit and I need the video to play on it. I'm getting the video link from YouTube so I was wondering how to make that happen. I already tried putting the YouTube link behind the video layer so it can be clickable in Acrobat, but when I sent it to the online magazine forum there was a lot of lines in it. I saw this YouTube video on how to do it but it requires ImageReady TUTORIAL-Add video to your Photoshop images and graphics! - YouTube. I don't have the Photoshop to ImageReady button in my PS....HELP! How do I get this done?!?!?

That tutorial is extremely old. ImageReady was last used in CS2. In other words that program no longer exists.
Luckily video made its way into photoshop so you can easily import your video into photoshop.
Instead of an animation panel, it is now called the timeline panel. When the panel first opens it will ask you if you want an animation or a movie. Choosing movie will reduce the number of layers required down to just 2, one for the movie and one for the TV image. Since this is a timeline, you can split the timeline to remove any portion of the video you do not want or need to add an effect to that area of the timeline. Each time you split the video, it will move it to a new layer for you.
You can still export as an animated gif by using the File>Save As dialog box. or You can export as a movie and choose another video format. Which format and codec you can choose will depend on how many other video apps of Adobe's you also have installed.

  • When using Firefox certain videos play but the image is green and distorted.. help?

Firefox 3.6.8 and 3.5 (I downgraded to see if that would solve the issue)
    Windows 7
    Intel Core i5
    Flash Player: WIN 10,1,53,64
When using Firefox certain videos play but the image is green and distorted. The image turns into lines and sometimes it half of the screen of the video. Examples are streaming MLB.tv video and some vimeo videos. The odd thing is that it isn’t all Vimeo videos. Is this a flash issue?
The issue does not happen with Internet Explorer which leads me to believe this is an issue with Firefox. I downgraded to 3.5 and the issue still persists.

  • Adding video to a background image

    Hello,
Having a bit of trouble here. I have Premiere Elements 10 and I am trying to figure something out.
I have a background image that I want to be able to add video into a small section of it, while the rest of the image is still there. The area is framed, so it would go into a specific area on the image.
It would kind of look like how most of your news shows look with the video over the person shoulder, just instead of it being a live person, it is just a still image that the video is in.
I have tried using the Green Screen Key and it will black out the green box, but it will not put the video in there. I have the video on Video 2 witht he image on Video 1. When I add the video into Video 2 it just overlays the entire thing and I cannot see any of the background image at all.
    Any help would be appreciated.
If you need, I can provide a link to someone elses youtube video to show what it is I am trying to do.
    Thanks,
    Michael

Are you talking about a Picture-in-Picture effect -- with a person sitting at a news desk and a photo or video inset in the upper left or upper right of the screen?
Here's a tutorial -- but how you specifically do it depends on which version of the program you're using.

    Hi
I would trash - iMovie pref file - and re-try - sounds like this got faulty.
    • Delete iMovie pref. file. iMovie pref. file resides.
Mac Hard Disk (start-up HD) / Users / "Your account" / Library / Preferences
and is named. (one or more of these)
    com.apple.iMovie.plist
    com.apple.iMovie3.plist
    com.apple.iMovie7.plist
    com.apple.iMovie8.plist
    com.apple.iMovie9.plist
    com.apple.iMovieApp.plist
    and find
    com.apple.iApps.plist
While iMovie is NOT RUNNING - move this/these file/s out on to desk-top.
    Now restart iMovie.
If You run Mac OS X.7 or more - then the Library in the User-account folder is invisibly and need to be set to be viewable. IT IS NOT in the Library on Root level (when opening MacintoshHD - first window = root level)
( It can be done like this: Open Terminal, then enter:
chflags nohidden ~/Library (exactly like this - space included)
Press return, then restart, and it will always be visible until the next major update, when you do the same thing again. )

  • Windows 8, Lightroom 5.6. When i enable filters to search. It cuts off the top 160  images. These images are NOT included in the search!!

In Windows 8, Lightroom 5.6. The search/filter function cuts off the top 160+ images. These are NOT included in the search.
Even when there are as little as 6 images it does not include the first 4 images.
I found this when I was searching a particular ISO. It did not show in the metadata search. I knew there were over 60 images at that ISO.
I tried a text search, it did not work either. The top 160+ images were left out.
Also it renumbered the images. My image number was #163 but Lightroom said it was #1.
In Windows 7 Enterprise, Lightroom 5.6 worked perfectly.

We'll need more detail to figure out what's going on. While we could play twenty questions, the most efficient way to troubleshoot this is to start out by posting a full-resolution screen shot of your LR window.

  • Motion tracking is not working for videos but works for images?

Motion tracking is not working for videos but works for images. When the videos is drop onto the tracking object the videos corner don't appear highlighted. I am working on windows 7 with version 13.1.

Are you within 30 days of purchase for the Premiere Elements 13? And, did you purchase as a download from Adobe? If so, you can
apply for a return/refund for 13. If you purchased elsewhere, then you would be governed by the return/refund policy of the seller.
Adobe no longer sells version 12, so you would have to find a vendor who still has it in stock and purchase it. There is no way to "downgrade"
    13 to 12.
What you may want to do is to download and install the Premiere Elements 12 tryout from the following web site to verify that 12 Motion
Tracking works for you; whereas 13 cannot with regard to use of video for the Motion Tracking source media.
Adobe Photoshop Elements 12 Direct Download Adobe Photoshop Elements 12 Direct Download Links, Premiere too | ProDesignTools
Apparently this web site does not sell the tryout. It just makes it available for use.
Before I posted my reply to you I looked at Motion Tracking with video source media on both Premiere Elements 12/12.1 and 13/13.1 on the same Windows 7 64 bit computer.
If any questions or need clarification, please do not hesitate to ask.
    Thank you.

  • Pulling video from a disk image?

is there anyway to pull video from a disk image or would i have to burn to DVD then rip the video back to my computer? if so, does anyone know of any good ripping software?

    Hi Kyle,
no, a disk image is an image of a disk (what have I said right now???), meaning, as the content of a physical dvd, you're not able to change any content on that "virtual" disk... (maybe some mpg voodoo masters can, me not)
as you said: burn dvd, and.... (I love to write that):
get for 20$ the Apple mpeg2 plugin
and for free the tool Streamclip
    http://danslagle.com/mac/iMovie/tips_tricks/6010.shtml
    http://danslagle.com/mac/iMovie/tips_tricks/6018.shtml
best practise anyhow, is to go back to iM project! you're loosing quality with ripping dvds, they use a socalled lossy compressor.... so, in any case you have the project, a backup, some Quicktime-dv copy of it.....?

  • Responsive design top logo image

I have problems with my responsive design: top logo image doesn't follow the various widths. Fex. the mobile display width or the maximum width display. • One chapter for video and another for images on same DVD?

    Hello,
I don't yet have a Mac, but am very close to buying a MacBook. I do have a question about iDvd. Is it possible to create a theme or template or to even do this. I want to on a regular basis have a short 5-7 tops 10 minute video and 100-200 pictures. I'd like it so the user has the option to click one chapter and watch the video. Click the other and view the images with an option to browse the disc and save the images for uploading to their target of choice such as FB. Is this possible with iDvd?
    Thanks,
    BK

Hello and Welcome to the discussions!
Congratulations on being an 'almost' Mac purchaser!
Yes, you can do what you want in iDVD.
You will have theme templates that come with iDVD to use to make a nice theme for your projects.
You will have the options to have the videos play individually by placing them on the menu one at a time, or to put them in iDVD the way you place a slideshow and have them play consecutively. Here is a link to a visual from Old Toad showing just that. Remember to look at this again when you get to this point:
    http://homepage.mac.com/toad.hall/.Pictures/Forum/iDVD8movieSS.png
Another option for videos is to put them all into one iMovie and make chapters for each video. However, the chapters will not appear on the main menu, but in a separate submenu.
You can then put the photos in iDVD as their own separate slideshow.
When your DVD is viewed, the options will be to select to play the video slideshow or play the photo slideshow. You can rename these titles whatever you wish.
If you make an iMovie, the options for it will be 'Play Movie' and 'Scene Selection' ( to link to the submenu with the iMovie chapter choices) and the same photo slideshow.
In additiion, you can utilize the DVD-ROM option to have the photos and videos available for downloading to computer. This option will not be seen when the DVD disk is viewed on a set-top DVD player. iDVD's Help File says:
+In iDVD, you can easily make it possible for viewers to download the photos and movies that appear in your slideshows. This is a nice feature for viewers who may, for example, want to print the photos for permanent display.+
+The photos and movies are added to the DVD-ROM portion of your DVD, and viewers can access them when they insert the DVD into the drive on a computer. (The files are not accessible from a TV.)+
Get the MacBook! Good luck with your projects. Take the time to do all the tutorials Apple offers for its iLife applications. Spend time here in the discussions for the apps you are using. Utilize the Search function to see if someone else has asked and received answers to a problem similar to yours. You will learn a lot and find answers that even the Apple Genius bar people do not have!

  • Video on top of picture

I'm not sure if the picture erased the text I'd already written so I'll just type it again. I make videos for YouTube and I was wanting to have my video play on top of a background image as shown above. So the video would be playing in the top left corner and the background image would stay where it is throughout the whole thing. How would I go about doing this? -Zax

Thanks for the follow up with more details of your Premiere Elements and computer environment.
Use the basic instructions given in post numbered 1.
    Premiere Elements 12 Windows 8 64 bit
    Expert workspace
    1. Video file on Video Track 2
    2. Background Image file directly below on Video Track 1.
    3. Go to fx Effects tab at bottom of workspace and select the category named Presets. Under Presets, find and drag either of the following effects into
the video file on Video Track 2
    PiP 25% LL
    or
    PiP 40% LL
Then adjust the scale and position of the video in relation to the Background Image.
When you click on the video on screen, its bounding box will appear with the opportunity for you to custom scale the video by clicking and dragging on a  bounding box handle. Also click and drag the bounding box to the wanted location.
Unless you want a special effects PiPs, I think that it is just as easy to start
    1. Video file on Video Track 2
    2. Background Image file directly below on Video Track 1.
And then click on the screen to get the Video Track 2 Video file bounding box, scale using a bounding box handle. Click and drag bounding box of the scaled image to the wanted position in relation to the Background Image.
Please consider and review and then let us know the outcome.
    Thank you.
