Video Onto iTunes

How do i get home videos that are on my computer onto the video section of iTunes?

Welcome to Apple Discussions!
Go to file-->add file to library and then find the file. If the file still doesn't import, then there is a problem with it. Also, try dragging the file into the library, which should also import it.

How can you import home videos onto itunes or any video that is not from the music store i can not find this info any where. It tells you that you need to convert your home video to sync with ipod but i can not even get it onto itunes.

  • How do I upload videos onto iTunes?

I'm using a PC and I don't know how to get videos onto iTunes (and then onto my iPod)
First of all, what are the types of video files that are compatible? I've tried .avi, .flv, and .mpg, but only .mpg worked so far (BUT! it wouldn't upload onto my iPod??)
Can someone please help me with this?? iTunes made me delete all my music on my iPod in order to sync videos, but what's the point if I can't put any videos on there anyway?

The file must meet the following specifications to play correctly.
H.264 video: up to 768 Kbps, 320 x 240, 30 frames per sec., Baseline Profile up to Level 1.3 with AAC-LC up to 160 Kbps, 48 Khz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4 and .mov file formats
    -or-
MPEG-4 video: up to 2.5 mbps, 480 x 480, 30 frames per sec., Simple Profile with AAC-LC up to 160 Kbps, 48 Khz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4 and .mov file formats.

  • Import home videos onto ITunes

How can i import my home videos/ DVDs onto Itunes just as you can import your audio CDs onto Itunes?

I had home videos that were sat in my iTunes library no problem but I couldn't get them across to my iPhone, even putting them in their own playlist, ticking all the right tabs in the synch menu etc. After a lot of playing around I found that if you right click on the video, select Get Info, go to Options and then in 'Media Kind', manually change it to Music Video and it will then happily go into the music videos playlist and will synch straight across.
    Hope this helps.

  • I can't get my videos onto itunes

I have some music fan made music videos i got from a webcite downloaded on to my computer's hardrive, but when I try to add them to itunes nothing happens, and on those rare occasions that someting does happen i get an error messege: 2048 it says that it is not a video file. I think mabey it has to do with the files being a windows media player. Is there any way to fix this so i can get them on itunes then to my 60 gig video ipod?

    Ok here it goes...
you have to ways of getting videos into your ipod (itunes): you can buy them on the itunes music store, which would then play perfectly on the ipod or you can convert videos that you may have.
This forum is not for that. If you do not know how to convert videos, then either investigate how to do that or stick with the videos that you get from itunes.
As you said.. all that avi and avc is just too deep for you... therefore stick with the easy choice... get your videos from itunes.
You can also try videora ipod converter (http://www.videora.com/en-us/Converter/iPod/), but then again if you have quesitons on how to use it, please go to their forums...since thats were you should get support for that software.

  • Gtting YouTube videos onto iTunes?

is there a way that I can download YouTube videos to my iTunes?
I have windows vista and an iPod touch if it matters.

I think there are probably hundreds of utilities available for this purpose. I'm mainly familiar with Mac ones like Videobox, but there are plenty for Windows too (the FlashGot download plugin for Firefox is cross-platform and includes FLV download functionality, although you'll still need to transcode).

  • How to import videos onto itunes?

    hey everyone..
i just downloaded a video online, and it is in mpeg4 form, and i'm trying to import this video from my desktop to my TV Shows folder in iTunes. i clicked on TV shows in iTunes, then went to import, choose my video, and nothing happened, it didn't load or show up on my TV shows list... my quicktime player is the most updated one, and so is my iTunes. i don't get it. what should i do? any help would be greatly appreciated! thanks.

also, i do not have quick time pro. i tried selecting my video, then "get info", and tried to set it as "tv show"/"video" instead of movie.. but when i tried to do that, it did not give me an option to change it. i also downloaded MPEG Streamclip, but i have no idea how to use it, or what to do with it! sorry, total technophobe here! thanks again.

  • The default disk that itunes saves videos onto is full. How can I set the default to the other disk I have installed?

When adding a video onto iTunes I get the error message that my disk is full. I am aware of this. I have another disk(Actually same disk but it's split into two parts under computer). It has plenty of space(629 GB free). How do I set the disk that itunes downloads onto as the second disk?

    Hi o0OZACO0o,
Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.
If you have iTunes set to organize your files, you'd need to make the other drive the default location of your iTunes library. See these articles for more information:

  • Does anyone know how to download the Beyonce visual album from a CD onto iTunes?

So I bought the disc version of the Beyoncé album and it comes with an audio and a visual. When I put the visual into the computer, it launches into DVD player. Is there a way to download the videos onto iTunes? (I know that you can digitally purchase the videos on iTunes but I don't want to pay again for videos I already bought.) Thanks for any help you can give!

Can't say for sure but I very, very, strongly suspect you have to get the video component via digital download.  iTunes does not support any kind of "ripping" from DVD, nor conversion from DVD format files to those used by iTunes.  Check if any kind of digital download code is included.

  • Can't import videos into iTunes

Yeah..so maybe I'm just ********, but I cant get any videos onto iTunes. I've tried all the formats, .mpeg and .mov and such, but can't get it. When I choose Import or drag and drop the video into iTunes, nothing happens. I'm lost...

I have the exact same problem. I've tried several differnt ways trying to get 3 different videos in my library but they just wont go. I've been through File > Add file to library, and as well as File > Add folder to library. But when I click on the movie and click Open it does nothing. I have no idea why but it's driving me crazy. Please help me too...

  • What format video does itunes play?

i want to download video onto itunes so I can download onto my iPhone and watch, however i don't want to have to pay for it.
what format do i have to download for it to be compatiable?

    Copied from this link.
    http://www.apple.com/iphone/specs.html
+Video formats supported: H.264 video, up to 1.5 Mbps, 640 by 480 pixels, 30 frames per second, Low-Complexity version of the H.264 Baseline Profile with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps, 48kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats; H.264 video, up to 2.5 Mbps, 640 by 480 pixels, 30 frames per second, Baseline Profile up to Level 3.0 with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps, 48kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats; MPEG-4 video, up to 2.5 Mbps, 640 by 480 pixels, 30 frames per second, Simple Profile with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps, 48kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats.+
There are 3rd party utilities available that "rip" content into a compatible format - most include an iPod and/or iPhone format selection. If a video plays in iTunes, iTunes includes an option to convert a selection for iPod/iPhone.

  • How to import video into iTunes?

This may be obvious to some but for the life of me I can't find out how to do it. Perhaps someone can give me a hand. The Apple documentation is incredibly vague about this topic.
I have some video files (in .wmv format, but I have a converter that can convert to other formats). I want to import them into iTunes so that I can play them on an iTouch. It shouldn't be rocket science but I can't find precise instructions on how to do it. I have the latest iTunes and OS 3.1.2 for the iTouch.
    Thanks for any help.

Well with some help from a co-worker and some experimentation I finally managed to load video onto iTunes. Apparently only files of the type .mp4 and .m4v (maybe .mov also?) will work. You have to open the "Movies" panel from the "Library" tab and then drag the files over there. Try dragging any other kinds of file and iTunes will just ignore you. Is it really so hard for Apple to describe that simple procedure in Help?
