Video output enabled on iBooks app?

Dear friends,
As I would need to make a presentation with an eBook file I created with iBooks Author, does anybody know if the video output is enabled on iPads while using iBooks app? That would be the only way to show ay eBook live with a video projector.
Thanks for your help!
Diego Meozzi

Not all apps are enabled for airplay, this is up to the developer to do.

  • Gatos - how to enable s-video output for ATI

i need to make s-video work on my laptop (want to connect laptop to big screen to present things - unfortunately this screen has no VGA but s-video)
in [extra] there is atitvout that should do this and also do so on my old computer (ATI mach64 chipset)
atitvout does not work on my thinkpad a31p - it does not recognize the card correctly and fails. for x.org i use the radeon driver and this works fine. it's a ATI FireGL 7800 that works fine with the "RV200" driver. but "radeon" does not have s-video output as far i know - no options how to enable s-video-out
after a long search on the internet, reading that most users that have my laptop never tried to make s-video work, i found GATOS:
    under:
    http://gatos.sourceforge.net/theater_out.php
there is a module that, if i understand it correctly, should make s-video work
    what i don't know:
    - how do you build this driver?
    - how do you use it?
(anyone able to make a pkg work with newest xorg?)
nowhere documented is how to use it with xorg >6.8.0
    anyone can help me?

atitvout just works with the vesa driver ...
and try the option "atitvout -f t" (and remember to put the tv connected before booting)
but the gatos drivers would be much better

  • Ibook video output

does the video adapter for current ibooks require that the tv you are connecting to has an s-video connection? if so, is there any other kind of cable/accessory available that will give you either an av or scart connection - like the video adapter for the older ibooks does?
    thanks

That is incorrect. The iBook G4 specifications indicate
VGA video output for video mirroring on an external display or projector (24-bit color) with included Apple VGA Display Adapter.
S-video and composite video output to TV or projector (requires Apple Video Adapter, sold separately)
You only need the Apple Video Adapter M9109G/A. Also see KB 88396, iBook video output cables/adapters and resolutions.

  • Any web browser thats enabled to video output?

Any browser out there that works with video output?

Search Browsers in the App store, then look at the product description.
They will tell you if they support this feature.

  • External monitor: problem to enable video output

    Hello,
I try to use an external monitor.
I usually use it by a camcorder and a Firewire PAL in FCP without any problem.
In Color, if I go in User preferences, Video output is set on disabled and the others (for example Digital Cinema preview or Firewire Pal) are all gray and I cannot set them.
    Thank you for your help.

    Luca,
Please refer to the included documentation. Color does not and will not send external video through firewire to any device, save one, and that is the Aja IO HD and then that device is limited to standard definition video only.
This "issue" has also been well covered in this and other forums: you need an input/output card manufactured by [Aja|http://www.aja.com/html/products_macintosh.html] or by [Blackmagic Designs|http://www.blackmagic-design.com/products>.

  • IPad2 TV/Video Output!

I had brought up a similar question a few months back on this forum and my options were to say the least limited. However, with the new iPad2 I thought I would reentertain the question due to some of the improvements presented yesterday.
OK, so with the onset of the coming Major League Baseball season, I anticipate getting a subscription to MLB.com. That way I can watch my beloved Red Sox on my iPad when I am not around the big TV (i.e cooking dinner, working in the lab). So now that the iPad2 will have the capabilities of video mirroring and TV/Video output capabilities up to 1080p (w/ an Apple Digital AV adaptor or Apple VGA Adapter) could I then stream the games to the iPad, but then hook it up to my TV and watch the games on a bigger screen with the iPad2 providing the feed? This would be near HD, I think.
The main reason for this is that my cable company charges me about $185 for the baseball package, but MLB.com is only $99. MLB.com offers games in HD and the cable companies package is not.
Unfortunately, I am not a videophyle so I'm not 100% sure if this would work. But I think it might be enough to push me over the edge into purchasing an iPad2.
    What do you guys think?
    MSax

While I believe there is a way to accomplish your goal, I don't think that the HDMI adapter is the solution. In addition to the need for an HDMI cable from your iPad to the HDTV, it looks like only certain functions can be mirrored.
More specifically, there is talk that the app developer can choose to enable this feature or disable it. I am speaking of a Hulu app blog written since the HDMI adapter announcement. Knowing what I know about the MLB app and MLB.com, I wonder if they will allow it.
To recap, I have concerns that the device won't automatically allow mirroring of all Safari browsing and that the app developers won't enable it if you are using mlb at bat as your source.
Perhaps the 4.3 update will allow us to Airplay from the Safari browser or an MLB at bat app...

  • JBL Radial Speaker with an S-Video Output

    Hey.
I'm trying to watch videos that are on my iPod classic. I have a black JBL radial iPod speaker that has an S-Video output. I have plugged in an S-Video cable to both my TV (on the specific S-Video channel) and speaker and have the iPod docked. When I tell my iPod to play a movie I bought from the iTunes store, it comes up with the "TV Out Enabled Please Connect Video Accessory" picture. Any suggestions what I should do? Thanks.

I think this is happening because the iPod classic doesn't support the firewire connection that my speaker uses. Does this sound right?

  • Video Output to TV Monitor

    Hi
I have a Miglia directors cut and am trying to output my floating movie onto a tv monitor. Following intructions from the manual I go to song settings and change the video output from Window to FireWire. Doesn't work. It seems as if logic isn't seeing the Firewire. The Miglia works well for outputting video in Final Cut Pro, where the app. has a 'refresh a/v devices' option which kick starts the Miglia. Does logic have anything like this?
    Any help would be appreciated.
    ta

I use a dc30 personally, brilliant old card.
I reckon it may be a diveo format problem. play the QT video in Quicktime. does it play back on the TV? if it does then it should play back in logic no problem. if it doesn't, then you might need to convert the video to dv streaming (which is different to dv which final cut pro uses). i am no expert in this area, but until somebody more knowledgable posts then i would say QT format issue is your problem.

  • Video output quality worse than AppleTv 1

Anyone else who owns an atv1 found video looks worse?
I'm not talking about actual video playback but the video output on 2
AppleTV1 looked great through my plasma even though it's not full HD
1080p over hdmi on 1 scaled by the plasma consistently looked best, with crisp but smooth edges to text and GUI.
Atv2 720p over hdmi looks consistently worse - it all looks oversharpened and over contrasty, with text in particular looking very jagged as well as the spinning timer wheel looking pixellated now
Watching a slideshow there seemed to be visible artefacts as some images moved or scaled whereas atv1 just looked silky smooth
Maybe the current GUI text and icons are not as smooth, maybe less antialiasing, poorer quality gpu
Maybe my plasma downscales 720p worse than 1080p - I need to check on the full HD set in another room but first impressions are not that good
Video playback seems strangely artificial too, almost as though the frame rate has been sped up slightly
Weird as the set should handle 50/60Hz without issue

So a few days in it's growing on me.
There's definitely something different about menu graphics but actual video quality for playback is excellent though I'm not sure it's not dropping/catching up frames at times.
I've watched some HD movie trailers and they look excellent.
Video navigation is considerably improved over ATV1, with FF / RW actually working reasonably well when they didn't before over the same connection. Changing chapters gives immediate starts and buffering seems considerably quicker - at least some of this must be due to newer hardware.
I don't like the top level menu much and preferred the older system but you can pretty much stay in Computers to watch own content.
Video playlists don't work properly which is poor but it took ages to get them enabled on ATV1.
There are many glitches but hopefully they'll get ironed out over time.

  • Video output via cable - incompatible with video p...

I find that although video output via cable from the Nokia 6220 classic (and I presume other Nokia phones) works fine with TV sets, I haven't found a single video projector that accepts the output and is able to project it.  The projectors typically search their video inputs and should recognise the composite video input, but instead they just keep searching and are never able to recognise or project the video.
Is there something unusual about the video signal output from it so as not to be accepted as composite video by video projectors?

iphone4 and composite and component cable don't support mirror so they
only display images when an supported app is being used like youtube or the video app and the likes
use both the composite and the component cable with my iphone4 on 5.1 and both works fine
so do my ipod touch with 5.1 and ipad2 with 5.1

  • No video output to 23" Apple from Windows XP

I just built a new computer with; Intel E6400 CPU, Asus P5W DH Deluxe motherboard and an EVGA 8800GTS video card. This setup will not give me any video output to my 23" Apple display that was working fine before. It will not post into the BIOS. I have not installed Windows yet. I hooked the computer up to a 19" Samsung LCD and it posted right into the BIOS with no problem. I talked to EVGA support and they think I may need a firmware update. Any idea where I could find out about this problem? The Apple is the second generation with the aluminum frame.

    Let's be constructive:
BUT WHY doesn't it work? and how can we fix it/make it work?
my cheap 'non apple' video cable works fine initially, then a message pops up about it not being an 'offcial' cable or some such, then asks if I want to enable airplane mode (both with or without it already disabled), and disables video out completely. Contrary to the many others that have overpaid for your proprietary cables; I'm NEVER EVER EVER EVER going to pay you for your atrociously overpriced cables, because you're action of 'disabling' 3rd party cables is monopolistic in any sense, destroys any hope competition in this area, hinders innovation by third party peripheral developers, and is downright unamerican imho because it does so. You've gone to far this time apple! I've come to the conclusion, you obviously don't care about functionality, as your hardware is almost always overpriced, proprietary, good looking junk, and you keep shaking my pockets for more money with your overpriced accessories and constant barrage of itunes streamery.
Anyway, how can I use my device to do video out on this officially licensed apple dock I have? It doesn't seem to work; and I paid a lot of money for it. If there isn't a solution; maybe you should give out refunds for all the devices that now don't work? Thanks

  • Clips from Project bin to source monitor causing video output to go out of sync(CS6 and CC)

Any footage I double-click or drag from the Project window to the Source monitor causes my video output to go out of sync. When I put the clips in the timeline, video goes back in sync and I'm able to view video output.  My monitors are connected to a Blackmagic Intensity Shuttle Thunderbolt(9.7.5) via component and HDMI. Is this normal behavior in Premiere or is there a setting to enable this? No issues doing this in FCP7(clips from Project window to Canvas).
Can someone with an I/O from AJA, Matrox, or Blackmagic please test this out for me. Thanks...

    Hi Joe,
How do you have your audio setup? Try the following.
    - Set your OS system sound to Built-in or Line out audio
    - Select Blackmagic for both Video and Audio in Preferences> Playback
    - Select System Default Input/Output from Preferences> Audio Hardware
    Hope this helps,

  • Synchronizing 2 or more QT video streams to 2 or more video outputs?

My students need to play two or more QT video files in sync (ideally contained in the same file) to two or more video outputs. We have an app. called Modul8 which can do this but it's way to complex for operation in an art gallery installation. Does anyone have any suggestions?

ah, found the answer, the irrelevant video needs to be set to fullScreenTakeOver=false, and then when it's the relevant video, the same property needs to be set to true.

  • Quicktime Video Output Components equivalent in QTKit?

I need to output video frames to external devices such as Firewire cameras and Digital Cinema Desktop. This used to be handled with Quicktime Video Output Components, but I'm not seeing an equivalent with QTKit. My application is 64-bit, so I cannot use Quicktime directly. Is this available in QTKit or another 64-bit compatible framework?

Benjamin: The Digital Cinema Desktop is a Final Cut feature, even if implemented as a Quicktime Video out component. As you can see (by the lack of options) is not really meant to be invoked from other applications which use standard Quicktime video out for external previews. That requires a device with a proper QT video out driver. You could use an inexpensive device, like a Blackmagic Intensity with an HDMI to DVI cable, to feed the second display.
Or you could just ask AE to play RAM previews at full screen, in which case you don't need to enable video previews at all. Together with the ability to take into account a calibrated display's profile, this should make for very high quality previewing on computer monitors.

Yes it does.  However if you want help then you need to actually provide us with some details.
    What kind of videos?
What app were you using before?
How were outputting the video before?
    What happens when you try?
