Video Output Windows 7

So I recently upgraded my video card from a X1900XT to an eVGA 9800GT which I flashed to use the mac 8800GT bios. It works perfectly under OS X but when I try it with windows the monitor goes into low power mode as soon as I start booting (no video output of any kind). Oh and its a Mac Pro 1,1
If I boot with X1900XT AND 9800GT at once, I can install the nVidia drivers, remove the ATI drivers, shut down, pull the X1900XT, I can boot part way, it shoes the windows logo, blah blah, when its supposed to show the login screen it goes to low power mode again. Windows itself is still working fine, just no video output.
I can however boot just fine with safe mode.
Any ideas what is going on?

Have you tried holding the Windows key and tapping the P key?
As there is no support for Windows 7 for your laptop by HP at this writing, this may indeed be difficult.
Have you checked in Device manager to see if any drivers have a yellow exclamation mark next to them?

  • No video output to 23" Apple from Windows XP

I just built a new computer with; Intel E6400 CPU, Asus P5W DH Deluxe motherboard and an EVGA 8800GTS video card. This setup will not give me any video output to my 23" Apple display that was working fine before. It will not post into the BIOS. I have not installed Windows yet. I hooked the computer up to a 19" Samsung LCD and it posted right into the BIOS with no problem. I talked to EVGA support and they think I may need a firmware update. Any idea where I could find out about this problem? The Apple is the second generation with the aluminum frame.

    Let's be constructive:
BUT WHY doesn't it work? and how can we fix it/make it work?
my cheap 'non apple' video cable works fine initially, then a message pops up about it not being an 'offcial' cable or some such, then asks if I want to enable airplane mode (both with or without it already disabled), and disables video out completely. Contrary to the many others that have overpaid for your proprietary cables; I'm NEVER EVER EVER EVER going to pay you for your atrociously overpriced cables, because you're action of 'disabling' 3rd party cables is monopolistic in any sense, destroys any hope competition in this area, hinders innovation by third party peripheral developers, and is downright unamerican imho because it does so. You've gone to far this time apple! I've come to the conclusion, you obviously don't care about functionality, as your hardware is almost always overpriced, proprietary, good looking junk, and you keep shaking my pockets for more money with your overpriced accessories and constant barrage of itunes streamery.
Anyway, how can I use my device to do video out on this officially licensed apple dock I have? It doesn't seem to work; and I paid a lot of money for it. If there isn't a solution; maybe you should give out refunds for all the devices that now don't work? Thanks

  • External Video Output (in 32 Gives Me Blank Window

Just Upgraded from Logic 7 on a G5 to Logic 9 running in 32 bit on a New Mac Pro. I have 2 displays attached to the mini ports and when I select external Video Output I get a blank window and the checkbox for External Video Output doesn't stay checked. Also Apple Cinema Desktop (which is what I used to select in Logic 7 and send it to the second monitor) doesn't even show up in the list.
I know there is a problem with this in 64 bit, but it should woulk fine in 32, right?
    -Danny

You'll need a third party i/o device to handle the conversion for you. If you have a MacPro, the Black Magic Intensity cards (at the low end) up to the AJA Kona series cards (at the upper end) will work. Mid way are the Matrox MXO series of external boxes - most of which will work with an expresscard34 capable laptop as well.

  • Is it possible to display Windows PC video output on an iMac via Thunderbolt?

Is it possible to display Window PC video output on an iMac via Thunderbolt?

Currently the ThunderBolt iMacs can only be used as an external display by other ThunderBolt Macs.
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?path=Thunderbolt/10.6/en/30822.html
When there is a Windows PC with ThunderBolt released it might work as well.
And/or when there will be ThunderBolt devices which enable this.
The Intensity Extreme http://www.blackmagic-design.com/uk/products/intensity/ might allow this once it is released.

  • Output Module - Video for Windows - trouble selecting Audio Format

    Good day, people.
Need help setting up AE to output .AVI with customized audio format, in my case it should be .mp3, but I would accept anything but the default uncompressed audio. (audio Output Format button is disabled when Video for Windows is selected)
Of course I can output as-is and use external tools to repack audio data, but it seems awkward. If AE can output MP3-only audio, why wouldn't it output AVI with MP3. Probably I just don't know the right set of options, but I googled to find the answer for over a month with no success.
Any hints would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Because it's a hack?! Even Microsoft does not officially support or endorse such combinations, it just has become common place when DivX and others introduced it, which is a whole different matter. If you get my meaning: On one end there are specs and standards, on the other end programmers that tend to get creative in the wrong ways. Anyway, the behavior you are seeing is correct. AE only supports uncompressed audio for AVI.

  • How to edit JVC/Panasonic/Canon .mod video in Windows Movie Maker then upload to YouTube for sharing

    Quick View:
Part 1: How to import .mod video to Windows Movie Maker
Part 2: How to edit the video with Windows Movie Maker
Part 3: How to upload your video to YouTube
    Know More:
    1. Which Camcorders record video in .MOD type?
    2. What file types are supported by Windows Movie Maker?
    3. What file types are supported by YouTube?
Part 1: How to import .mod video to Windows Movie Maker
    Step 1: Load files
First copy the MOD file from your video camera to your hard drive, then download, install and run MOD Converter, click the "Add Files" button to browse your computer hard disc and load the MOD/TOD video files you want to convert to the program.
    Step 2: Output Setting
In the bottom of the main interface, select an output format supported by Windows Movie Maker for each video file and specify a directory on your computer to save the output files.
    Step 3: Start convert
Click "Start" button on right bottom of the main interface, you are allowed to start conversion.
Step 4: Import converted video to Windows Movie Maker
Click on "File". Then click on "Import". A window will appear. In the window, navigate to the video clip you converted just now. Then double click on the file. You'll see the icon for the file in your Windows Movie Maker "Collections".
Part 2: How to edit the video with Windows Movie Maker
Step 1: Add transitions and special effects
In the Movie Tasks pane, under Edit Movie, click View video transitions.
Preview transitions by double-clicking them and watching the Preview Monitor. Once you've found a transition you like, drag it from the Video Transitions pane, under Edit Movie pane to the box between two of your clips. This inserts the transition between the two clips.
Step 2: Add titles and credits
If you want to add a title before, after, or on top of a clip, click the clip on the storyboard or timeline.
In the Movie Tasks pane, under Edit Movie, click Make titles or credits.
    Step 3: Add Music
In the Movie Tasks pane in Movie Maker, under Capture Video, click Import audio or music.
In the Import File dialog box, click the name of the song you want to use in the background. Then click Import. This adds your song to your collection but does not add it to your video. Drag the song from the collection to the video clip where you want the music to start playing.
    Step 4: Add narration
If you have a desktop computer, connect a microphone. Microphones are available from most electronics stores. If you have a portable computer, you can use the built-in microphone. However, you will get a better-quality recording if you connect an external microphone. In Movie Maker, click the Tools menu, and then click Narrate Timeline. On the timeline, click the clip you want to narrate. You can narrate clips one at a time, or you can narrate the entire movie all at once. If you narrate individual clips, you can rearrange them later and keep your narration synchronized. If the narration is too loud or too soft in comparison to the movie, right-click the narration on your timeline, and then click Volume.
Step 5: To save your movie to your computer
In the Movie Tasks pane, under Finish Movie, click Save to my computer.
The Save Movie Wizard appears. On the Save Movie File page, type a name for your movie. You can also choose a folder to save it in by clicking the Browse button, but My Videos (the default) is usually the best place to save your movie. Then click Next. On the Movie Setting page, click Next to accept the default setting of Best quality for playback on my computer.
Movie Maker saves your movie, which might take several minutes. On the Completing the Save Movie Wizard page, click Finish. If Play movie when I click Finish was selected (it is selected by default), the movie will automatically play in Windows Media Player. Now you can watch your videos anytime by opening your My Videos folder and double-clicking your movie.
Part 3: How to upload my video to YouTube
A video file should meet the following requirements so that it can be uploaded to YouTube site.
    1. In an acceptable format: WMV, MPEG4, MOV, AVI and MPEG.
    2. Video length is shorter 10 minutes.
    3. File size is smaller than 1GB.
Step 1: Sign up a YouTube account or Gmail account, then click the Upload button on any YouTube web page. See the figure below:
Step 2: Type in the information of your video file, including Title, Description, Category and tags. To increase the chances that your video can be easily found, you should put as much information as possible.
Step 3: Set this video to be public or private.
Step 4: Click the "Upload a video" button. When you see the next window, click the "Browse" button to select the video file you want to upload. Then click the "Upload Video" button to upload it. After the upload is finished, you will see the completion page. See the figure below:
Step 5: Click "My Videos" and you will see the video.
    Know More:
    1. Which Camcorders record video in .MOD type?
MOD is the video file type used on many digital camcorders, such as the JVC Everio, the Canon FS100 and the Panasonic D-Snap SD-card camcorders. Accompanying the MOD video file, there exists MOI file that stands for the index file for MOD.
    2. What file types are supported by Windows Movie Maker?
You can import files with the following file name extensions into Windows Movie Maker to use in your project:
Video files: .avi, .wmv, .mpeg, .mpg., .asf, m1v, .mp2, .mp2v, .mpe, , .mpv2, and .wm.
Audio files: .mp3, .wav, wma, .mp2, .aiff, .aif, .aifc,.asf, .au,.mpa, and .snd.
Picture files:.jpeg, .jpg, .jpe, .png, .bmp, .dib, .emf, .gif, .jfif,.tif, .tiff, and .wmf
    3. What file types are supported by YouTube?
YouTube accepts a wide range of video file formats. The video files below are all accepted by YouTube. Some video formats work best and are most compatible with certain computers, software or devices. Windows Media Video (.WMV)
    .3GP (cell phones)
    .AVI (windows)

  • Video Format Total Solution: How to Convert and Edit Video on Windows/Mac

More and More video formats are coming out with different video encoders and it makes our spare time more and more colorful. However, it is not to say that there is no problems. Actually, different video formats make it difficult to share video with others, even your own camcorder and iPod. Is there an easy way to convert videos effectively. Yes, there is.
In this article, I will show you guys how to convert videos on windows and mac.
Part 1. How to Convert and Edit Videos on Windows
For Windows users, you need a Video Converter(http://www.aiseesoft.com/total-video-converter.html) to do that for you.
Here I use Aiseesoft Total Video Converter(http://www.aiseesoft.com/total-video-converter.html)
Step 1: Download and install Aiseesoft Total Video Converter
After you download it to your computer, double click it and it is really easy to install.
You just need to click “next” and it will complete it in seconds. It will automatically run after installation.
    http://www.aiseesoft.com/images/guide/total-video-converter/screen.jpg
    Step 2: Load Video
Click “Add File” to find the video that you want to convert and click “open”. It will be loaded automatically.
Step 3: Select the target to decode
In the “Profile” drop download list you can find your target according the usage of your output video, such as if you want to put the video on your iPod touch, you can select the “iPod” in the first list and “iPod touch 2 MPEG-4 640*480(*.mp4)” in the second list.
    Step 4: Set Advanced Parameters
After you select the right output profile, you can click “setting” button to set your advanced parameters. You can adjust video and audio settings separately. In video section, you can change “video encoder”, “resolution”, “frame rate”, “video bitrate”In audio section, you can change “audio encoder”, “sample rate”, “channel”, “audio bitrate”If you want to save this profile and settings and use it next time you can click “save as” button to give a name to it. And the next time you want to use it you can find it in the profile list named “user defined”.
    Step 5: Choose a Destination
To browse and find a output folder for your output files or just the default one.
Finally, Click “Convert” button to begin your conversion, here in the converting
interface you can choose “shut down the computer when conversion complete” or “open output folder when conversion complete” or you just do not choose neither one.
Tips: How to Edit the Output Video
This video converter is also a video editor, you can use it to edit your output video as follows:
    http://www.aiseesoft.com/images/guide/total-video-converter/effect.jpg
    1. Effect:
You are allowed to adjust the “Brightness”, “Contrast”, “Saturation” and you can choose the “deinterlacing” to make the video more enjoyable.
    2. Trim:
In “Trim” section you can pick up any part of the video to convert.
There are two ways to select the part of the video you want. One is set the start and end time in the box. The other one is to drag the start and end button in the processing bar.
    3. Crop:
This function allows you to choose a certain play area to convert. That means you can choose a part of the screen you like to convert. For example, you just like the tv in the middle of the screen, then you can drag the frame around the preview window to select the tv and the output preview will show you the output video. In this section you can also choose the “zoom mode”, such as “keep original”, “full screen”, “16:9”, “4:3”.
    4. Watermark
In the section, you can add a watermark on the output video to show people something, such as your name, website, studio name or other things. The watermark could be words and picture. You can adjust the transparent of the watermark easily to make it more beautiful.
Part 2. How to Convert Video on Mac
This time you need a Video Converter for Mac(http://www.aiseesoft.com/video-converter-for-mac.html)
    Step 1: Add File
Click “Add File” button to load the video you want to converter
    http://www.aiseesoft.com/images/guide/mac-video-converter/steps.jpg
Step 2: Choose profile and adjust settings
You can find your output video format from a drop-list called “Profile”You can also adjust the specific settings of the output video, such as “Resolution”, “Bitrate”, “Encoder” and so on.

  • S-Video output on Z61t

I am driving myself crazy trying to get my s-Video output to work on my Sony Plasma TV.  My Z61t has Mobile Intel 945.  I have updated to the most recent drivers.
Everytime I try to validate TV settings using the Presentation Director it says I do not have a TV connected.
The s-Video port is working just fine on my Wife's Toshiba laptop. What gives?
I cannot get the settings to show "Generic Televison" or anything like that.  I also try a tip from the Intel list, which did not work.
I also noticed that I do not have the Intel Accelerator menu option on my desktop, right click menu.
Has anyone made this work successfully and if so how, step by step please.

  • Satellite P300-13J - S-Video output shows no picture

    Hi,
I need a little help here.
I have P300D-13J and I bought it with OS Vista HP 32-bit. I have tested S-Video output few times after time I bought my computer and it worked fine,no problems.
    But,after a few months I needed S-Video output and I connected cable like any other time I did that(same cable,same TV),and it didn't worked!
I thought it was some software problem, and in that time my copy of Windows 7 HP came. I've installed Windows 7 HP 32-bit on my computer and everything is working super, but I still have the same problem with S-Video output. I need to say that with instalation of W7, I installed all newest drivers from Toshiba web page.
When I try to move screen on TV, I use FN+F5,and it has a button called TV. But if i chose TV,my FN shortcut key blocks and nothing happens.
When I go to Display Settings and connect TV on S-Video,I have second monitor (No.2) and it is called Non PnP Generic Monitor or something like that. I can not change any settings on that monitor, not even a resolution.
So,does anyone has this kind of problems or solution for this?

    Hey Stevan,
I had the same issue that I couldnt see a picture on my external monitor that was connected via S-Video cable. The solution for this problem was very easy: I had to change the TV-standard from NTSC to PAL!
Of course its depending on your country where you life but you can find this option in display driver options.

  • Video Output ALWAYS dictates Audio Out!!??

I have a Black Magic card in my system. To save space on my working monitor, I'm viewing my movie from the output of my Black Magic card on an external monitor. However, the audio is also being sent to this monitor. I'd like to do my mix with my headphones, and not on the crappy monitor speakers, but every time I change the video output, the audio always gets sent to the monitor. I have to watch the video in a window on my monitor to be able to listen over headphones, which is a waste of space. Why can't I control this?
In my audio prefs, audio output is set to built-in output.

Weird, I have both setup, Windows 7 with Lenovo Graphic Driver and Windows Server 2008 R2 with Nvidia Driver, both have audio output.
Try to go to Device Manager to see if there's anything called Nvidia High Definition Audio, for me, I have 4 same devices. If there are unknown devices, install it manually with inf files.
    Best Regards

  • Video output

I am attempting to use an external video monitor to display the QT movie being used within a Logic song.
In the Video Song Settings window I select Firewire from the Video Output drop-down. A warning appears:
"The movie and the video output hardware seem to use different codecs! Converting on the fly may be possible but may cause performance problems and instabilities."
And sure enough playback on the external monitor is stuttered and out of sync.
    1) What does this warning message mean, exactly?
    2) Any advice on how to get video runnng smoothly?
    Thank you.

If you are pumping vision out of the firewire port, you need to have the video file in the .DV format. This is what is used natively in Logic and therefore does not need to be converted on the fly as it exits your computer.
There are many ways of converting your vision to .DV, but the most obvious is with QuickTime Pro, which allows you to export in the .DV format from the Export option.

  • Video Output to TV Monitor

    Hi
I have a Miglia directors cut and am trying to output my floating movie onto a tv monitor. Following intructions from the manual I go to song settings and change the video output from Window to FireWire. Doesn't work. It seems as if logic isn't seeing the Firewire. The Miglia works well for outputting video in Final Cut Pro, where the app. has a 'refresh a/v devices' option which kick starts the Miglia. Does logic have anything like this?
    Any help would be appreciated.
    ta

I use a dc30 personally, brilliant old card.
I reckon it may be a diveo format problem. play the QT video in Quicktime. does it play back on the TV? if it does then it should play back in logic no problem. if it doesn't, then you might need to convert the video to dv streaming (which is different to dv which final cut pro uses). i am no expert in this area, but until somebody more knowledgable posts then i would say QT format issue is your problem.
