Video Pauses while Playing

I just downloaded a Video and song and when I go to play the video, it keeps stopping, buffering then only plays part of the video. Any suggestions?

Screen recording-video pauses while audio continues

When I make a screen recording, the audio and video are playing perfectly (I use soundflower for the audio). However, when I go to watch my screen recording, it starts off like normal but about 30 seconds into the video, the video pauses while the audio continues playing like normal. Any reason as to why this is happening? I'm not just recording my screen but also a video from a website, don't know if that makes a difference.

I have a Mid 2010 Mac Mini Server (full specs below) and very recently it has developed a strange problem. I'll be watching something on iTunes and the video will stop but the audio continues. If I move the mouse and click on the screen the video suddenly plays very fast untill it catches up with the audio and then for a while it will play normally. I can go through this process 3-4 times an hour before I give up and stream to my iPad instead.
in the beginning it only happened when I was using the HDMI cable but recently it happens when the mini VGA adaptor is plugged in too.
its beginning to be very frustrating so any help would be truly appreciated.

Live video capture while playing back another video track?

Is it possible to capture live video while another video track is being played back? I would like to do this for multitrack video recording of music: a) record a video track, then b) record a second video track while listening to/watching the first. Exactly like multitrack recording of audio as in Garage Band, but with video.

As an example, there are lots of multitrack videos on youtube, but you can often tell synchronization has been done manually as the audio and video are out of sync (even if only slightly):

I'm not too familiar with video editing (yet), so please forgive me if I've misunderstood your suggestions. I think what I'm talking about would have to be done post (after shooting multiple video tracks?), and couldn't be done with video switching (live switching between multiple video feeds?). What it boils down to in my mind is precise synchronization of a new capture with something pre-recorded (be it audio or video). If no software can do this (yet), perhaps there's a way to do it with additional hardware, for example playing video on a monitor while simultaneously recording with a camera, assuming the devices can be synchronized somehow?

Itouch pauses while playing...

My Ipod touch will just pause while it's playing and the volume bar with go up and down, and tell me that I'm using my headphones when I'm really not. What's wrong with it?

It sounds like there are issues with the headphone jack internals.
As your most likely aware, the volume has two setting, one with the headphones plugged in, and one using the built in speaker.
The switch inside the headphone jack is probably defective.

I have the same problem. FLAC files are stuttering as well, but that's already reported. It looks like it's a problem of the last update, since the old one was fine

Streaming video pauses while the audio continues to play

I am using Firefox 3.6.12 on a Desktop pc with Windows 7 x64 os. Recently the streaming video will pause, or freeze, but the audio will continue playing. After a second or two the video will catch up with the audio and everything is in sync. This happens frequently during the course of the video being played. It has happened on both Hulu.com and Netflix.com. The buffering is good at 480, usually with 3 to 4 bars.

There seem to have been a few problems with Flashplayer recently. The sound problem was thought to have been solved, but has been around for a while.
#Please state what version of FlashPlayer you are currently using.

Why does my iPod Classic keep pausing while playing music in a dock?

Hi, can anyone help with this? I am playing music through the iPod Classic on a Philips docking speaker and every few minutes it pauses. This is so maddening, what can I do to stop it. Thanks

From my own experience recently, I would suspect that the Philips dock is faulty. However, that won't get you very far, so as a method for narrowing down the problem, ask yourself the following:
Has the iPod/Philips dock combination ever worked?
How are you connecting the iPod with the dock? Is it the docking connector, a cable, bluetooth?
How long does it work before it pauses (time it)? Is it the same time each attempt?
Can you try the iPod with a friend's dock, or can you try the dock with another iPod? What happens?

HD Rentals Pause while playing 100% downloaded.

I've rented 2 HD movies on my Apple TV. With each movie I allowed the movie to completely download before watching it (I rented it several days before I began watching). In both movies I get random pauses where the video and sound freeze for a few seconds. Is anyone else seeing this issue? I'm streaming a large music library from my iMac via wireless. The Apple TV is connected via ethernet to a Netgear router.

Same problem as Robert. Using an 802.11g wireless internet connection to connect to my ATV (which is, I believe 802.11n)
I thought this could be the source of the problem, but even fully downloaded movies stutter like this.
Apple customer service couldn't provide the answer.

capturing a video works fine in my nokia c6-00. .but wen i play the captured video the video hangs for some minutes but the audio keeps on playing. i am saving the videos on mass storage 8gb sd with 5gb free space. software version m using is 40.

This is possibly a networking problem. If the Apple TV and router lose connection, or the speed is too slow, it stops loading, or buffers.
Test your internet speed several times to see if it drops or is just too slow.
Update you Apple TV if needed.
Refresh connections

Audio and Video Skips While Playing. HELP!

Whenever I play music or audio on my computer it always skips. This happens much more with music and audio. I have a Realtek HD Audio Sound Driver. I believe it is a latency issue, but am not sure. It is very annoying and slows up the experience of playing music. Please help! My specs are:
HP 2000-369WM Notebook PC
Windows 7 SP1 64-bit
4.0 GB Memory
AMD E-450 APU with Radeon Graphics 1.65 GHz

You have an impressive amount of extensions installed that might be contributing to this slowness.
I won't be easy to track down which extension(s) are causing this.

*If you have many extensions then first enable half of the extensions to test which half has the problem.
*Continue to divide the bad half that still has the issue until you find which one is causing it.
Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.

Ipod pauses automatically while playing

I have a 4th gen ipod that shuts off (pauses) while playing. I think it is associated with jiggling the ear phone jack. I notice that if I unplug the headset, it goes into pause. Is this a feature that I can control?

Your diagnosis is correct. This is a 'feature' that cannot be turned off. Notice my quotes around feature! You might try different earbuds, an extender that fits more snuggly, or even tape.

Marking while playing video in the event browser

I recently switched from PC to Mac specifically to edit our home family videos. My question is how do I mark an end point in my video when viewing the video in the event browser? I understand that I could select a range of frames by clicking and dragging the yellow selection box, however I want to play the video (using the spacebar)and then stop, and mark, the video at a certain point. As soon as I move my cursor, the playhead disapears and I loose my last position. I am forced to click and drag the right of the yellow selection box to my end point but I find it not as precise as simply marking a spot while playing live playback. Any suggestions?

While playing the clip in the event browser (with nothing selected):
- press spacebar to pause
- press shift+right-arrow to mark the in point
- press spacebar to resume playback
- press spacebar to pause
- press shift+right-arrow to mark the out point
You can now use left and right arrow keys to move your entire selection or use shift+right-arrow and shift+left-arrow to move the out point and resize your selection. When you're done, press E to add the selected range to the project window.

I'm sorry, I didn't explain myself correctly. I was referring to watching a video on the iPod. It is really annoying when the video freezes momentarily, and the audio continues to play smoothly, but by the time the video catches up, you have lost several frames of your video. You know what I mean? Really annoying...

Let me ask you this:
How can you "watch" a video while you are scrolling
around in your menus? There is only one screen on my
iPod and I can only use it to watch videos OR scroll
through menus. When I press the menu button while
watching a video, the iPod goes back to the previous
menu. Then, when I go back to the video, it starts
back exactly where it was when I pressed the menu
button in the first place. Apparently, it pauses
while you are looking through the menu screens. Now
with music, I understand what you're saying but I
haven't had any stuttering or anything while browsing
the menus. The video is a bad example because it
doesn't work like you have explained....
