Video Play Stops and Freezes
During play, the video freezes after several minutes. Not all videos are affected by this. Video podcasts and other videos downloaded from iTunes work more reliably. Videos I edited (I use Ulead VideoStudio 10 & 11 or Roxio Creator 9) are a problem and generally will not play. All the edited videos are rendered to the iPod setting in the program(s) and play perfectly in iTunes.
All the videos, regardless of their source, play perfectly on my two year old 60 gig 5th generation iPod.
From other postings, it appears that other iPod Classic owners are experiencing this problem.
Could this be a "firmware" problem that Apple will be able to resolve or is there a hardware problem in this 1st generation Classic?
I deleted all the video files from iTunes and sent them to the recycle bin. This did not delete the files from the the file folder located in My Documents/My Videos. Next, I went back to iTunes and added each video file into the Movies playlist.
After completing this for all my videos, every file played perfectly on my iPod Classic.
With this solution to my videos freezing while playing, I am completely satisfied with the new iPod. I plan to buy another Apple Dock for use in the car with the factory installed video player.

My video keeps stopping and freezing. How can I fix this for ipad 4
Can anyone help. Do I need to download adobe flash for ipad 4. To fix the problem of my video freezing or stopping
If you're streaming video it's possible that your internet connection simply isn't fast enough to stream video. Have you tried to start a video, then pause it and wait a couple of minutes, then play and see if you can get enough of a head start to keep going?
You can't put flash on the iPad, flash and iDevices will never play together. You could look to see if your source has an app or look into various third party browsers that support flash. -
While playing videos on itunes, the audio and video will stop and start several times during playback. This just started recently and it does it on all my videos. Help!!
Try to download the application VLC.
It is a media player that should be able to play any audio or video file you may have. If your videos play flawlessly using that application, then the issue is with iTunes and Quicktime, as they are both essentially similar software types when it comes to playing media.
In that case you may need to install a plug-in file called Perian, in order for the videos to play correctly within iTunes or at least Quicktime... -
After having to re-install my start-up drive recently I am getting a message with Adobe Premiere Pro CS5 that it can't find any "capable video play modules" and asks me to "update" my "video display modules". I am using a mid-2010 iMac 27" with OSX 10.7.3. How do I do this?
Premiere is an Adobe application and is supported in their forums.
Good luck.

My audio stops outputting after a few songs in a playlist - itunes says its still playing, stopping and starting track recommences audio output. Mac book Pro Lion 16gb ram. Can be any song, any time, same song will play if I select it again. Bit of a bummer itunes is the main thing I use (macbook pro jukebox).
Most likely culprit is your Lacie drives which are notorious for flaky power supplies which cause just the sort of erratic behaviour that you describe. Have had similar issues myself. Lacie has been good about replacing my power converter-- twice. If you have seven of them, good luck finding the bad one or more. Like I said, the behaviour is erratic. Sometimes it'll work sometimes not. I can't comment on Samsung drives because I've never used them and have never heard anything about them. Same with Softraid. Why not just use Disk Utility. Sounds like you're ready for an external hardware raid. This will be much faster, much more reliable, and may even be cheaper than seven firewire drives. Check out G Tech, and Maxx Digital for starters.
Best of luck

Any video that is viewable on the internet(youtube, flash, etc.) does not play in Firefox. The video is shown and everything but when I click it the audio begins playing normally and the actual video itself skips horribly and my computer begins to freeze up.

Video playback stops and starts
I've never had this problem before but since I wiped my 5th Gen (late 2006) iPod Video and put new content on it the video playback keeps freezing for a second and then continuing. Most of the time the audio keeps going but sometimes they both stop and start again. It's very annoying. I don't see anyone else in this forum complaining about this. Am I the only one?
Anybody have any suggestions on how to fix this?

Youtube videos spazzing out and freezing
Hi
Sometimes when I have a youtube video in another tab and then go back into that tab, the video will show the same image (as if it were paused, except the sound continues) and/or showing other images spazzing inside of the video (zooming in and out). The latter happens more frequently when I'm on a youtube playlist or have multiple youtube videos opened (not all playing). The latter is quite rare, however, and I had only gotten it twice before I started finding a way to reproduce the former problem. Both can occur independently of each other. I can't remember this happening to me on my old arch linux install (on the same computer), which had the same driver and browser.
I'm on a relatively new arch linux system (about 3 days old) so I barely have anything installed.
This is some of the stuff I have installed that might be relevant:
- Desktop Environment: Cinnamon
- Browser: Chromium
- Video driver: ATI (xf86-video-ati)
- flashplugin 11.2.202.291-1
Reproduction of problem:
1. Open Chromium
2. Open Youtube
3. Open three videos in a new tab from the front page
4. Close Youtube front page window
5. Wait for all videos to start
6. Pause all videos
7. Start video in tab #1
8. Click 'Youtube' in the left corner in tab #1 for home-page
9. Click a video
10. Let the video load and then either pause or let it play.
Now both videos from tab #1 and #3 are frozen (sound is still playing) with a white frame, picture from another website (if I tabbed to it from that website) or a picture from the video. Sometimes it's spazzing out with another video zooming in and out inside of the video frame.
Regards,
Surculus
PS. the problem can happen in with e.g. two youtube windows open, I just wrote one that always worked for reproducing the problem.Hi BKLive
My problem is not that flash crashes. The sound is still playing, but the video freezes in place or is replaced by an image from another website in my tabs (that I would then have tabbed out of to get to the Youtube video). I tried the suggestions that were given in those forum posts, but they did not solve the problem. The only thing that 'fixed' it was using gnash. However, I do not want an infurior alternative that will negatively affect my experience watching youtube but rather to solve the problem. Unless of course there's an alternative that functions better than the default youtube flash player.

PhilHello,
Potentially unsafe versions of the Java plugin are "Click to Play" blocked, meaning that you have to click to activate Java for each site. See the [[How to enable Java if it's been blocked]] article for more information.
'''Note:''' To make sure that your Java plugin is working, you can visit the test pages listed in the article, [[Use the Java plugin to view interactive content on websites]]. If an "Activate Java" message box appears, click inside the box to activate the Java plugin.
When you see the "Activate Java" message box, simply click it to load the Java content normally.
<br><br>
[[Image:Fx24-JavaActivate]]
If there is no visible area to activate Java content in the page, click the red plugin icon in the address bar. In the message panel that opens, choose "Allow Now" to enable Java content temporarily.
<br><br>
[[Image:Fx24-JavaAllowNow]]
<br><br>
The next time you visit the site or any other that uses Java you will see this message again.
If you want to always activate Java for a particular site, you can use the "Allow and Remember" option shown above.
After activating Java, you may also see a "Security Warning" dialog box, asking you to confirm that you want to run Java. This warning comes from Java itself, not from Firefox.
Does this solve your problem? Let us know. -

Chrome has its own embedded Flash Player - the installed version DOESN'T affect it.
HTML5 DOESN'T use Flash (It's MP4 or webm)
Download the Flash Player uninstaller. Flash Player uninstaller
Download the Adobe Flash Player installer directly by clicking the following links.
Flash Player for ActiveX (Internet Explorer)
Flash Player Plug-in (All other browsers)
SAVE all files.
On each workstation:
Run the uninstaller to remove both ActiveX and regular Flash Player.
Reboot and then run the installers to replace both plugins.

HP Pavilion p6653w Desktop PC
Windows 7 64-bit
Any videos play from the interent stops during the play and then continues. This process repeats itself until the end.
The performance is slow. What can I do to fix this problem?Hi,
Try a clean installation of the Flash Player Plug-in as follows.
First, download the Flash uninstall utility on the link below and save it to your Downloads folder.
Flash Player Uninstaller.
When the download has completed, close all browser windows, open your Download folder and run the uninstaller. After this has completed, restart the PC.
Next, ( unless you already have it ), download and install Firefox and then using Firefox, download and install the latest version of Adobe Flash. Note: You may want to deselect the option to include McAfee Security Scan Plus before downloading.
Close all browser windows before running the Flash installer.
Launch Firefox and see if videos etc play Ok in this browser - if they do, close Firefox, open Internet Explorer and click on the same Adobe Flash link above to get a prompt to install the ActiveX component. When done, restart Internet Explorer.

NetStream.Play.Stop and Complete fired early on RTMPE streams
Hi there
I am experiencing an issue with playback on RTMPE streams. after investigation it seems that the FMS server is firing the NetStream.Play.Complete message at random points, indicating that a stream has ended. This is happening and random points during the stream, not even close to the end.
The order of Status messages is as follows:
Thu Oct 20 2011 04:15:17 PM :: NetStream.Play.Start : status
Thu Oct 20 2011 04:32:40 PM :: NetStream.Play.Stop : status
Thu Oct 20 2011 04:32:40 PM :: NetStream.Buffer.Flush : status
Thu Oct 20 2011 04:32:58 PM :: NetStream.Buffer.Empty : status
Thu Oct 20 2011 04:32:58 PM :: onPlayStatus : NetStream.Play.Complete
As you can see roughly 17mins into playback...although the stream is 1 hour 24mins long
I have tested this numerous times, and each time it is at a different point in the stream.
Intermittently the NetStream.Play.InsufficientBW warning is being fired prior to NetStream.Play.Stop.
I am using a player built on OSMF 1.5.
Just need to know why these messages would be fired and how to handle them
Thanks
SteveHi Steve,
Thanks for the information. Did you check with flvcheck tool to see if the file is a valid FMS file ? If not, can you do that please ? -
After upgrading, videos randomly stop and restart.
Since upgrading to iTunes 10 purchased videos of TV shows randomly stop and restart. I've had these videos for years and never had a problem, but now every time I watch an episode it sill get around 5 minutes in and spontaneously start the episode over. Anyone else having these problems?
Hi Fabrizio,
why do you want to reboot your server every sunday?????
If you reboot your SAP this often, you'll have performance problems every Monday. All
of your SAP internal Buffers must be filled again after an reboot. If your DB is on the
same Host, also your DB Buffer is empty.
If this is an productive System, i highly recommend you that you not reboot your SAP System this often....
(By side, thats the difference between an *nix and an Windows System.).
What is the reason for doing that?
confused
