Video Playback -Anyon know?

I can play videos in iTunes but the I cannot set the playback window to 'always on top'. Does anyone know how to do this??

I can play the video either full screen, in a separate window or in the existing window. My problem is that if I open another window it goes on top of the video window. This means that I can nolonger view the video window. In other programs like Windows Media Player and InterVideo DVD you can set the player to "always on top" (just like iTunes mini player), but I cannot find a way to do this for video playback.
Thanks

You would need an image editor to edit the images and add a border to the image first before importing them into Final Cut.

my ipod crashes anytime i tap on music or video, does anyone know how to fix that problem???
When I use it on my laptop there is no problem the songs and videos are there but when i use the ipod directly they just don't appear... :S

It sounds like the iPod has a software issue. I would try the following troubleshooting tips:
    1. Reset the iPod: reset the iPod by holding the sleep/wake and home buttons simultaneously for 10-15 seconds until the screen goes black then shows the Apple logo.
    2. Make sure the iPod is on the latest version of the software, if it's not then update it.
    3. If the iPod is on the latest version of the software or the software update didn't resolve your issue then restore the ipod to factory settings, which will put a new version of the system software on your iPod.
More info on backing up and restoring can be found here:

Try a reset of the device by pressing and holding the home and power button for 15-20 seconds until the white Apple logo appears.

  • Updated to IOS6 on my iPad 2. Now I do not get sound with YouTube videos. Anyone know a fix?

Ever since I updated my IOS to six I have not been able to get sound when playing YouTube videos in the safari browser. Does anyone know of a fix for this?

I had the same problem there is no fix except to go to Apple store and get a replacement phone. Or buy a newer phone. I tried everything as well. SIM Card, Restore, etc.  Try to do a full restore and add the phone back into Itunes as a new phone not from the back-up and see if that works first. If it doesn;t get a new phone. Then when you get the new phone set it up as a new phone as well do not use your back-up or the same thing will happen. Stay using 4.3.3 until version 5.01 comes out which will hopefully be soon

  • Hi, i have a gopro and imovie11 wont let me import my hd videos. does anyone know the reason for this? i shoot them in hd but when i try to import them in hd it wont let me, please someone help me?

i have a gorp and i need help importing my hd videos that i know i shoot in hd, to imovie 11. it wont let me click on them, there transparent and it wont allow it. can someone help me figure this problem out?

    Hi Ken,
I had the same problem importing from my Gopro.  The solution I found was to open the movie using Quicktime.  Select "share" from the menu at the top of the page, then select iMovie.  It will convert it to a readable format as it loads it into iMovie.  Don't know why Apple makes a simple task so unintuitive.

  • Audio static problems with video playback - Anyone Else?

I went to archive.org and downloaded two movies for my iPod. Great. However, when played on the iPod there is this scratch/pop in the headphones every couple of seconds.
It doesn't matter what headphones you use.
It doesn't happen when you play the same video on the computer either in iTunes or Quicktime Player. And this is definitely more than the normal hiss and pop of old movies. Its piercing when you have in ear headphones on and quite distracting with apple buds.
What I am wondering if this is a problem with all iPods or just mine?
I don't have the problem with music videos or home made movies. Just the two movies I downloaded from archive.org. However, they do play fine on my computer. This is my last day to return the iPod and get a new one instead of service unit (which his actually probably new also because the Apple Service dept probably hasn't had refurbs yet, but I digress).

I'm having the same problem with a file from archive.org. The file plays back fine using QT on my PC, but on the ipod the audio has periodic bursts of static.
Here's a link to a file that exhibits the problem:
    http://www.archive.org/download/disorderin_the_court/disorder_in_the_court256kb.mp4
Movie info is: MPEG-4, 320x240, Millions
    AAC, Stereo (L R), 48.000 kHz
    Movie FPS 29.97
    Data Rate 346.70 kbits/sec

  • Anyone know info about J.E.C.'s Spectacular PixelBender Filter used by Platform evangelists?

This pixel bender transition seems really spectacular and breath taking on these videos from two excellent presentations:
http://www.ustream.tv/recorded/1286278  Ryan Stewart's presentation (near the end of this video clip)
http://www.flashermag.com/issue1.html   Lee Brimelow's presentation in Nevada uses it too
I understand the creator was J.E.C.  It is spectacular but hard to see the effect exactly in these videos.  Anyone know of a swf demo around to see what it looks like in its full glory.   I heard that J.E.C. might display it on the Pixel Bender Exhange?  Any info on this?
    looking forward,
    Evan

    Hey Evan,
I saw your email, so I apologize on the delay. Justin said he's planning on releasing it but I'm not sure what the delay is. Adobe is on spring break this week but I'll bug him next week and see if I can get him to put it up on the exchange.

  • Anyone know which render format I should use, my film will be used on a video wall (12 screens) and I need super quality. My footage format is 1080p HD resolution 1920x1080. I will be running the project from a mac with a direct line to video wall. Thanks

Anyone know which render format I should use, my film will be used on a video wall (12 screens) and I need super quality. My footage format is 1080p HD resolution 1920x1080. I will be running the project from a mac with a direct line to video wall. Thanks in advance.

I do some VJ-type work, involving playback of QuickTime files from the computer to projections, and I get good results using ProRes 422. That's convenient, because ProRes 422 is such a great editing codec, too.
Traditionally, VJs use PhotoJPEG codec, which also works well, but it's a bad editing codec. So you would have to export an edited master, then convert.
If you want it to look as good as possible, definitely schedule some time to test the footage on the wall. You may want to change the color correction of your footage to match the projectors. And if you feed the video wall some flat gray, you can see if any of the projectors need to be  adjusted.
I'm not sure what application you're using for playback, but QuickTime Player 7 works well. It has an option to play fullscreen on an external monitor (View > Present Movie…).

  • I have windows 8 and itunes 11.0.2 and the the quality of the playback of my tv shows is choppy, does anyone know how I can fix this?

I just recently got a new laptop with windows 8  and downloaded itunes 11.0.2.  I downloaded my tv shows from the cloud to the laptop and the playback was awful...the audio was fine but the video is choppy and couldn't keep up with the audio.  I thought maybe it was because I downloaded it from the cloud and it was  a different version of itunes so I downloaded different TV shows from the store and it was the same problem.  Does anyone know how I can fix this?
    Thanks

Re: iTunes has stopped working. Why?

    Resolved!
After contacting Apple, I received a reply from their engineers:
    Copy QTMovieWin.dll from:  C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support
    to: C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes
    And that did the trick.

  • Hi, my mac has stopped playing some avi files (that used to work). I can see the video. Does anyone know why and what i can do? My version of quicktime is 7.6.9.

Hi i have avi files saved in iphoto that i used to be able to play through quicktime. However in the last few weeks i cannot play many of these files. I can see the videos and click on them but nothing happens (i have version 7.6.9 of quicktime). Does anyone know why this has happened and what i can do about this?
    Thanks.

What do you mean by what audio/video formats are involved? These are all files from several digital cameras.
As previously stated, AVI is a file container. It is somewhat old and its originator, Microsoft, dropped official support of it over a decade ago. However, it remains popular with PC users since almost any valid audio and/or video compression format can be stuffed to the file which synchronizes the content by interleaving the individual audio and video frames. The compression format is the specific manner in which the audio and video data are encoded as it is placed in the AVI container. You can find the compression format by inspecting the file in the Finder "Info" window, or in the "Inspector" window of the QT player (or other media player) if the file can be opened.
For instance, one popular compression combination would be to place DivX encoded video and MP3 audio in an AVI file container. However, neither DivX nor MP3 is natively supported by the QT player. (Although iTunes will natively support the MP3 audio.) Therefore, people who wish to play such files in the QT 7 Player would normally install either the DivX component or Perian but not both. Either installation will independently play such files in the QT Player, but if both are installed, the file will usually stop working since these two codecs can create a playback conflict.
However, the AVI container could just as easily contain DV along with DV audio. In this case, the file should play correctly in QT since this compression format is natively supported by the basic component configuration that comes in every current OS installation. Therefore, if such files suddenly stopped playing, this could be an indication that a component has been moved or deleted or that your system or QT embedded structure has become corrupted.

  • Hi all ,anyone knows some usefual Codecs for H.264 live video/audio

I'm headache about the JMF codecs ,they are too few ,and seems inefficiency, anyone knows pure java codecs for H.264 or MPEG4 ?And I think it's better a open source one ,do my thanks , guys!

    Here are some basics....
FMLE creates RTMP protocol streams that PCs and Macs watch with Flash players.   iOS devices don't understand RTMP (Flash), only HLS delivery of 10 second chuncks of downloaded video playback.  Both systems understand H.264 video, but iOS wants to see AAC audio not MP3.
You didn't state how you are live streaming, meaning what bandwidth delivery service you are using.  Live streaming only via RTMP won't get you to successful iPad and iPhone HTTP Live Stream.  On-demand delivery to iOS devices normally requires .mp4 video files to be hosted, which Macs and PCs also understand via RTMP delivery.   But unless your delivery service can convert .f4v or .flv files to .mp4 on the fly there is no easy way to to get to iOS via the direct file output of FMLE as of today.   Sometimes we upload live encoded project files to our www.Wistia.com account for PC, Mac and iOS delivery.  This is a YouTube / Vimeo paid type hosting service for on-demand only.
Some commercial CDNs (Content Delivery Networks) today allow an inbound live RTMP into their system using FMLE.  Then they re-mux that RTMP stream into HLS delivery for iOS.  Some work well using the native MP3 audio codec (Internap), but most require FMLE to have the AAC audio codec installed from Main Concept for $200.  Or people use Wirecast from Telestream which is $500 per license to be able to run two instances on that one license.
In my 15 years of being a big commercial webcaster here in Silcion Valley, I have yet to find the perfect simple and easy and affordable RTMP to HLS live and on-demand delivery system.  We currently do it different ways with multiple providers depending on the job.  More offerings are coming out now and we try them all as they come down the pike.

  • Does anyone know the bitrate of iPhone 4's HD video?

I'm deciding whether I should buy the 32GB or 16GB gig model, and info on the bitrate of the HD video it records would be useful.
For instance, on the tech specs page it says it supports playback of up to 35mbits/second, but it doesn't say what it records at.
For instance, if it does record at 35mbits/second, that's 15GB/hour. So that means the 16 gig model will basically be able to record and store no more than an hour of HD video.
But you don't need 35mbits/second for HD to look good. You can actually get away with 4mbit/second, which effectively allows for 8 hours of recorded HD video storage on the 16gig model.
Anyone know what the HD recording specs are? Apple doesn't seem to list them anywhere.

Hmmm, well maybe I can answer my own question. I found this raw video from the 3Gs
    http://stadium.weblogsinc.com/engadget/videos/penny_chase.MOV
Looking at the stats, it's 640x480 @ 4mbit/s and the compression quality looks fantastic. I'm going to assume that Apple will try and aim for the same compression quality for the 1280x720 resolution of the iPhone 4 video recording.
Since 1280x720 has 3x the pixel area as 640x480, it will require roughly 3x the bit rate to look just as good. It's not that simple, but it should be a good approximation.
So I'm guessing the bitrate will be around 12mbit/second in order to maintain that same compression quality @ 30FPS. That will translate to roughly 5GB/hour of video.
