Video playback, help............

What are the supported files for video play back.  I installed a short vid I took with my digital camera, its an AVI file and my phone says it cannot be played.  Why and do I have to convert it to another format and if so, what format and how?
Thanks.

ok, i down loaded a program on my pc called tools4movies.  converted a vid to mp4, and it still says video cant be played.  Im getting frustrated.  any more ideas.  thank ya'll.
Is the app called DVD Catalyst 3 from Tool4Movies http://www.tools4movies.com/http://www.tools4movies.com/)? ? If so then all you have to do is select Motorola Droid from the list of devices and it will convert it optimized for your device, I use this for all my videos and it is the best converter out there.

  • Output Video Playback Help

    Hello Again,
    I first wanted to thank those who helped with my initial issue. I went through the 16 steps and was able to fix the blue hue over my output video. Now I have an issue where when I go to playback in the output video, it is very choppy or the video does not move at all and all you hear is the audio. Please help if you can. Thank-You
    Jeff

    If you were sitting down at your computer and you added 3 clips to your timeline, went to play them back, and the video was choppy and lagging. What would you do in the program to fix that problem.
    Assuming the use of DV media on internal hard drives specific to that purpose, I'd reboot.
    If that didn't clear it up, I'd check my hard drives for fragmentation.
    If that didn't work, I'd check other clips for comparison.
    If that didn't work, I'd try a different project as a test, as well as various media players to see how well they handled playback.
    If that didn't work, I'd try the same clips on another computer.
    If that didn't work, then chances are I violated item one by not using DV media.

  • DRM video playback - HELP PLEASE

    I have searched and searched and searched online but cant find anything and from what I can Adobe doesnt have any examples, but I am building an AIR desktop video player application and want to be able to play videos with DRM such as bought iTunes movies or dvd/bluray Digital Copy's(if possible, if its not go ahead and tell me please). What I had done so far was something like this.
    var netconnection:NetConnection = new NetConnection();
    netconnection.connect(null);
    var netstream:NetStream = new NetStream(netconnection);
    netstream.client = this;//This works
    var netoptions:NetStreamPlayOptions = new NetStreamPlayOptions();
    netoptions.streamSource = "videoFile.m4v";
    netoptions.preloadEmbeddedData(netoptions);
    function onMetaData(e:Object):void {
         trace(e);
    function onDRMContentData(e:Object):void {
         trace(e);
    Now, with a regular video file, the onMetaData event fires and traces out and works just fine. If I try and play an iTunes bought movie, neither the onMetaData or onDRMContentData events fire and I have no way of knowing what is going on. Any ideas? Any help or examples or telling me what Im doing wrong would be awesome. Thank you.
    http://help.adobe.com/en_US/FlashPlatform/reference/actionscript/3/flash/net/NetStream.htm l?allClasses=1#preloadEmbeddedData()

    Well I dont know a whole lot about how DRM works, but from what i understand you download the permission to play the video online using the DRMManager class after you have received the embedded data by calling that preloadEmbeddedData that gives you the info that the DRMManager needs to be able to send the request to be able to play that file. But here is the answer to your question about the meta data

  • Issues with Video Playback HELP

    Hello. I work in Final Cut Pro X at my school and I am making a broadcast news video due tomorrow. To complete it, I needed to take the project home. I saved the XML file and supporting documents to a SD card and downloaded the trial version onto my Macbook Pro. I relinked the files and most of it works but there are several occasions where the screen just goes solid green but the audio still works. I really need to get this video done tonight! HELP!

    Wow. Where did that come from? This media needs to be converted. It's in a non-standard format. SD is supposed to be 720x480 using an anamorphic pixel aspect ratio. It should be in DV or DV50 or some other I-frame codec. This is square pixel standard defintion using what's really an HD codec. Also the audio should never be in a compressed format, but in Linear PCM. I'd suggest converting it using MPEG Streamclip, but you're probably a long way into your project so rebuilding is not an option.
    See if you can optimize the media. Select it and use transcode media. It may not do it for these files because it doesn't normally optimize standard def.

  • N95 8GB VIDEO PLAYBACK HELP

    Hi, i have downloaded my videos onto my pc. they are MP4 files. i am not able to play them on my pc. Please advise what to do or what software to download. i cannot find any other options for recording videos if there are any other settings
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    If you mean the videos you took with the N95 then just use Quicktime or RealPlayer to play them on the PC. Actually most video players will play MP4.
    Windows Media Player doesn't play or find MP4 as you probably don't have MPEG-4 as a DirectShow codec.
    So you won't be able to use WMP unless you make some changes to the registry which I won't recommed unless you are comfortable editing the registry.
    640K Should be enough for everybody

  • TS3354 Video playback help - black screen

    I'm trying to view my TV shows but all I get is a black screen. My movies seem to be loading just fine, though. I've already updated my iTunes thinking that that would be the problem, but nothing has changed. Any suggestions?

    Each display is fed by its own graphics card: I have two NVIDIA GeForce 7300 GT PCI cards, with 256 MB dedicated VRAM each. I am running two Dell 24" displays @ 1080p via DVI.
    The source material is Uncompressed 8-bit 4:2:2 (with all FX rendered).
    "External Video" settings:
    When I brought up System Profiler just now, I noticed several oddities, one being that it says I have 0MB of VRAM, and the other being that one of my cards takes up 1 pin on the PCIe bus... Very strange! ???
    Card from Slot-1: (0 MB of VRAM?)
    Card from Slot-2: (0 MB of VRAM and x1 Pin Width?)
    (It says "no display connected" because each card has two DVI outputs.)

  • WINDOWS VISTA ITUNES VIDEO PLAYBACK ISSUE!!!!!! AAHHHHHHH!!! HELP!!!!!!!!!!

    am using a Dell XPS GEN 5 PC with Windows Vista Premium Edition as the current OS installed. I have latested up date for Itunes and QuickTime (7.1.6) Installed. I have recently bought and downloaded 3 of the Original Star Trek Tv Shows from Itunes. When I try and play one of them, they don't work. The Screen comes up, the show starts, then stops. Sometimes the sound keeps on playing, and then stops. Sometimes it just dosent even come on. I'm guessing (as a highly advanced Windows PC User) That this ia a "video/playback issue, related to a Apple/Vista Compatibility problem. I would like help solving this problem.

    hi slideaway!
    my computer has a right proper meltdown, switching itself off and restarting to a "Windows has recovered from a serious error" sort of message.
    good lord. are you getting any sort of blue screen? if so, what numerical and text codes are you getting with it? (ie 0x[zeros/letters/numbers] CAPSANDUNDERSCORES)
    here's a reference on the sorts of things i'm asking about:
    Troubleshooting Windows Stop Messages
    if you're not seeing a blue screen (or just a flash of one), we can use this technique to make hidden blue screens appear for us:
    1) Open your system control panel (Start->Control Panels->System).
    2) Select the "Advanced" tab.
    3) Click the "Startup and Recover" section's "Settings" button
    4) Verify that under "System Failure" the "Automatically restart" checkbox is not checked.

  • Help with detecting child video playback end

    I have a flash file that plays multiple videos. I'm trying to
    set it up so that all of the videos are loaded by a second (child)
    swf, imbedded in the first. The first (root) would call the second
    (child) swf, play the video, and at the end of the video, playback
    of the parent swf would resume. I can't seem to figure out how to
    do this. If I try to make a call to the root from the second swf, I
    of course can't because it doesn't know the root exists. The parent
    (root) swf has the following code on the frame that calls the
    child:
    ~~~
    stop();
    var loadVideo:URLRequest = new URLRequest("videoinset.swf");
    var videoLoader:Loader = new Loader();
    videoLoader.load(loadVideo);
    // Identifies which frame to play in inset video
    var vidclip:String = "intro";
    function swfLoaded(myEvent:Event):void {
    stage.addChild(videoLoader);
    var mycontent:MovieClip=myEvent.target.content;
    videoLoader.x = 210;
    videoLoader.y = 150;
    mycontent.gotoAndPlay(vidclip);
    videoLoader.contentLoaderInfo.addEventListener(Event.COMPLETE,
    swfLoaded);
    ~~~
    How can I tell it that when the child gets to frame(#), to go
    back to the root and resume play?
    I am using netstream to play the videos. There are 6, each
    called by a different frame in the videoinset child swf.
    Thanks for any help with this.

    Any help with this really would be appreciated; if I have not
    explained it clearly enough, by all means please let me
    know.

    -Nick.

    Do you have a SATA hard drive? I have the same problem you describe when trying to play videos in iTunes. Do the previews of music videos on the iTunes web site play OK? If they do you probably have the same problem with SATA HD and iTunes incompatibility. Not sure who is going to fix that problem and when. I have found one fix that worked for me. Copy your video(s) to a flash drive and then play them from there. It's a workaround and you shouldn't have to do it but it does allow you to watch the videos.

    Hi, I had recently purchased ipad3 and but obviously have been having issues with heating up and some minor issues with video playback etc. Apple has agreed to replace my device. I need help in deciding whether i should get a new ipad3 or opt for ipad2. Seller is willing to replace it with ipad2 as well..
    Have also heard that the ipad3 revamped version is around along with the mini pad rumor..too much information - lot's of confusion pls help

    Lindsay,
    Your iBookG4 is still a pretty awesome Mac. Like already said, it has the power to run Leopard, but it depends if you have an internal DVD drive.
    Then I suppose you have to add up the cost of the OS, perhaps another 512MB RAM, iLife 08 and replacements for any favourite apps that you currently use (Leopard breaks a lot of stuff, but Intel breaks even more). Compare it to the cost of a new MacBook, which wil have all of that included and be 3-4x faster too.
    It also depends on what you want to achieve with your iBook. My PMG4 still cuts it today, I still use it in preference to my new Mac Pro, It's about the same age as your iBook, and I'll only stop using it when it becomes "painfully" slow. My 1 year old son currently uses the Mac Pro (parts for a Mac Pro are easier to replace than those for a PMG4).
    I think your choice is simple, if you can a cheap copy of Tiger, use that, it'll get your iPod Touch up and running. It came in DVD and 4 CD version (by request).
    Leopard will work for you too but a lot of the best eye-candy requires quite a meaty graphics card and you may need a RAM upgrade and replacement software - OS9 Classic is not supported in Leopard.

  • Please Help - Video Playback Problems

    I have followed all the instructions provided by iTunes support in an attempt to fix problems with video playback. They did not help. I downloaded 4 video files that would have smooth audio sound but skip and freeze continually throughout the entire video.
    This problem 1st occurred right after I downloaded the latest version of iTunes and then a purchased video. One point of interest is that all of my old video files from earlier versions of iTunes still work fine as they always did.
    Could anyone please help me to resolve this issue?

    I have had the same problem. I even bought a new 256mn video card and it did nothing. I have done everything i-tunes website suggest and nothing has helped.

  • PLEASE Help. Green Screen in Video Playback and all Video Files.

    Hello to who ever can help a hand out. I feel very stressed by this whole problem. I have a documentary movie that has been finished and edited. I only had to add a couple more parts to it to finalize the film. However when i went on my computer today, (last time being last week. Where everything had worked properly) all the video playback is green. it has audio of all the video files, but the video shows up green in the playback and the viewer. Any idea what could have happened. (last week i added a 5 jpegs thats it!)
    Please anybody with any suggestions, I would be very greateful.

    Lots of folks with similar problems. Do your clips play ok in Quicktime Player ? have you done any updates lately.

  • Need help fixing video playback on iTunes and worried it will affect iphone

    First of all, the black levels when playing videos on iTunes looked terrible.
    I looked all over on how to fix this..
    So then I installed the lastest nvidia graphics drivers to help with video playback
    After install my videos black level was definatly better, I think.
    But now all videos play wierdly in the corner of the itunes program..
    http://img36.imageshack.us/img36/8170/ituneshelp.png
    I need help to fix this and I hope this dont affect playback on iphone 4

    If exporting to i4 results in the same, there could be a problem with the movie itself. Try exporting to the i4 and replay the video. However if exporting to i4 plays okay on the phone, it's your Nvidia drivers. You can download the prior Nvidia drivers and downgrade.
    There have been dozens of cases where Nvidia drivers even the newest ones have made a mess of games, movie playbacks, even viewing Windows programs.

  • Audio and video playback latency ,since windows 10 help please

    hi everyone I'm having a problem with my laptop ,video playback is lagging and sound to , sometimes making robotic sounds, and it all started when I upgraded to windows 10.my laptop: Lenovo ThinkPad x220 intel core i7 2.7 GHz processor 8 GB of ram previously had windows 7 pro now windows 10 proI tried resetting my computer , you know to have it clean and fresh, I thought this might help , maybe some old programs from windows 7 were causing this problem , but it didn't help , I also tried disabling and enabling the drivers from the device manager , is a trick I found on youtube , but it didn't work , I'd be very thankful if you could give me some advices .

    Can you try disabling the Ethernet adapter in Device Manager?

  • I need help me with my Video Playback

    Every couple of weeks my video output stops working without me changing any of my audio video settings, user preferences, etc. My friend showed me that if I trash my user prefernces folder, for some reason the video playback comes back on.
    Is there a way that I might fix this problem without having to trash all my settings?
    The Playback is firewired to a JVC BR-DV6000 which is hooked up to a moniter via bnc. Thanks for any help.

    #8 External Monitor Viewing.
    Shane's Stock Answer #8:
    A simple path is mac > firewire > camera or deck > rca cables > tv
    Then start up your camera and tv, then open fcp.
    Then go View > External video > all frames
    Video playback should be Apple firewire NTSC (If you are using an NTSC set)
    Audio playback should be Audio follows Video
    Techinially, this should send synched video to your TV
    If for some reason you can't view your timeline on your external monitor, there are a few things to try:
    1) Make sure that the camera/deck is connected and powered on BEFORE you open FCP.
    2) In the Final Cut Pro menu select AUDIO/VIDEO Preferences and make sure your signal is being sent out thru Firewire DV.
    3) Go to the menu and select VIEW>EXTERNAL>ALL FRAMES.
    4) Click in the % box above the image and select FIT TO WINDOW.
    5) Go to VIEW->refresh A/V devices
    6) Make sure the Log & Capture window is closed
    If you want it to play in both the canvas and the external monitor you need to go to the FINAL CUT PRO menu and select AUDIO/VIDIO settings and make sure MIRROR ON DESKTOP is selected under the PLAYBACK OUTPUT section
