Video Playback - No Sound

I have uploaded some movies to my Playbook but not all of them have sound.   The video is nice and smooth but no sound.
Is there a way to update the Audio Codecs?    Only some of my movies work and have sound.......

Xvid is a video Codec - alot of AVI files encoded with Xvid use AC3 as their audio codec - which is unsupported on the Playbook. (*sigh*)
If you feed your movie through Format Factory, you can convert the video into a Xvid AVI with MP3 as the audio component. I did it this morning and it works great for the Playbook.

  • IPhone 5 video playback no sound

My iphone 5 is unable to play the sound which i recorded using video camera.
I didn't use any headset during the recording but when i play it back, no sound coming up.
I tried restoring as new phone but still unable.
I bought my handset in singapore and it's still under warranty period.
But, i've lost the receipt, can i still claim the warranty?
Another issue is about the personal hotospot.
Is it true that ios 6.1.x unable to tether your mobile plan via wifi?
Im using blackberry 9700 as my other phone anyway.
    Thanks for any help.

    HI JerGoe,
do u put anti scratch sticker at the back of the phone?
if you do, peel off the sticker that cover the microphone in the back. (part of the sticker that cover the rear camera, mic and flashlight).
if u don't, record video from Front Camera and check sound. if it does, then claim your warranty.
my best bet is that u have anti scratch sticker at the back. remove the small standalone sticker part that cover the mic behind. ( the mic is located beside the rear camera lense, the small dot.)

  • Video playback behind sound

I am trying to play videos that I've previously uploaded and watched with no problems. However now the sound is normal but the video is delayed. How can I fix this?

I fixed my problem. It's one of the things that apple recommended and something that anyone should think of when their audio stops working correctly. I went to to my sound card manufacturer's website, downloaded and installed the most current drivers.
To figure out what drivers to download (for win xp) you should look in the device manager window. There's probably a shorter way (and its different with different versions of windows) but I right click on the "my computer" icon, select "properties", hit the "hardware" tab, click on the "device manager" button, scroll down to "sound, video, and game controllers" listing, click the expand button and one of the items in that new column will be your sound card. In my case it was a Creative Soundblaster Audigy. Then go to the manufacturers website (in my case, www.creative.com) and look for the newest drivers.
Another way to figure out what hardware you have in your machine is to download Sandra from SiSoftware. You can find a free trial online. The application will usually tell you the name and manufacturer of all the components in your computer. (including the sound card)
Not only did the new drivers enable me to hear the audio, but it got rid of my slowdown with the video, and highly increased the sound fidelity. Hope this helps.

  • No sound on any video playback after 5-10 seconds

The sound on my second generation ipad seems to disappear after 5-10 seconds of watching any video playback, although sound works when i stream to my apple TV so I'm assuming its the device that's problematic. Any suggestions on how to resolve this issue and get sound from the ipad would be greatly appreciated.

Perform a "reset" on the device by pressing down and holding the home button and the sleep/wake button for up to 30secs. until you see a black screen with the Apple logo, then release.
Then test to see if it solved the problem.

  • Can't hear recorded sound during video playback

I take a lot of videos of my kids.  I have noticed lately that the volume is low or muffled...you can't hear what is being said even if they are screaming 6 inches away.  I thought maybe something had gotten into the microphone, etc.  I recorded a voice memo and on playback i could hear what was recorded just fine at a normal level. Now once I tried to record a video of my kids talking, it played back so low that i can't hear anything and that is with the volume turned wide open.  Not really sure what this issue could be but if the volume works fine on voice memo wouldn't it work the same on video playback?

  • Loss of sound and video playback on ENVY X2

Every so often, more often than I would like, my HP Envy X2 loses sound and video playback capabilities; any ideas anybody? The concept of this machine is great and have had it for the past 9 months but this loss of sound and vision is so unpredictable and frustating...

    Hi Brumage,
I saw your post regarding the sound and video issues and I will be happy to help. Do you get any error messages when this happens? Have noticed if it is a particular site like YouTube or program that you are using when the issue occurs or does it occur on all programs? When you restarted the Envy X2 does the issue go away?
I would start by suggesting that you make sure all updates have been installed through HP Support Assistant and Windows Update.

  • I am trying to access a website with everyday videos, but there is no image playback, only sound.

When i am trying to access the web page, everything goes smooth, but when I get to the video playback, it doesn't show any image, you can only hear the sound playback of the video. I accessed this web site with other web browsers, and it worked just fine, with both image and audio playback. From the same web site, sometimes videos work, but that is very rare, and I don't know what determines this kind of behavior.

  • Video playback sound problem

I'm trying to use Logic to score a film, and can't get the video to playback with sound. I checked the video/movie settings and tried different sound output options, but nothing has worked. Anyone know how to fix this? Thanks.
    Powerbook G4   Mac OS X (10.4)

    1. Check your Sound preference pane. See what it's set to for sound output. If not already set for "internal", change it and see if you get sound out of the computer's speaker (and make sure the volume is turned up and not muted).
    2. Try extracting the audio into the Arrange window. You have two options:
Options > Movies > Extract Audio from Movie (this puts the audio file in the audio window only)
Options > Movies > Extract Audio to Arrange (this extracts the audio file as above, but puts it on the selected audio track in the Arrange window.
    Post your results please!

  • How do I reduce slideshow sound during video playback in iPhoto.

    Hi all.
The quick slideshow in iPhoto 09 is fantastic! The combination of pictures and videos blending into each other works very well.
...with one exception. When showing a video with sound the selected background music for the slideshow still plays - at a reduced volume. This reduced backgroundvolume is often not reduced enough and it interfers and destroys the experience of the video clip. I would like to find an option for reducing the backgroundmusic even further or maybe mute it during the video playback. But as soon as next pictures are shown the backgroundmusic should return again.
A very technical solution eg changing / "hacking" iPhoto files would be fine also.
    Best regds
    Jesper

That can't be done. Send in a feature request to Apple via http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphoto.html.
If you're saving the movie as a QT file for use elsewhere and have access to iMovie HD 6 you can do that very easy. Create the movie without added music, export to Quicktime, import into iMovie HD 6 and add the music tracks as desired.
You will have lots of control over the sound this way.

  • ITunes Video Playback - Sound skipping

Hi - Just bought a new PC and have installed iTunes and brought over all my sound and video files to it via iPod hard disk function. Music is playing perfectly. All video playback is accompanied by terrible stuttering and spluttering of the audio. This is occuring at all times - even if iTunes is the only app running. DVD playback fantastic on PC as is video playback using other apps. Videos i'm trying to play are all under 5 minutes long and differ in type from video podcasts to Pixar content bought from itunes shop. New PC has brilliant spec so don't understand - any suggestions? All help much appreciated - regards!!

I almost have the same problem with the Video Podcast the sound is bad, For the audio only it works perfectly. At first everything was in order and worked well.
Then for no reason I got the trouble with the sound of the Video Podcast there was echoes and the quality was poor.
Cause it’s new computer I re-installed everything, so it worked well again. Then after going on a web site that uses active X for animation I got the problem back. I have no idea if Active X QuickTime are connected but each time the pattern the same.
Have tried to re-install iTunes the Quick Time I have changed the Audio option about filters in both nothing helped.

  • ITunes / Windows Video Playback.. (what, you actualy want to WATCH vid's?)

I'm sure there are several people out there that are having the same or similar problems, but because I can't seem to find them with the exact problem I'm having, I thought a new thread would be appropriate....
Upgraded from 6 to 7 yesterday... music seems to play OK (not as good as 6, but not all the issues other people are having). Now video playback in iTunes is little more than a slideshow with audio to (almost) match.
When I go to play back any vid podcast, or other video in my library for that matter, iTunes bumps my processor up to 100% and holds it there, and the video does little more than skip and bounce through the entire playback (even if the overlay controls go away fully, the slightest mouse movement brings them back). The audio quality seems to almost follow the video, but they get away from each other (the audio was about 2 seconds ahead of the video/slide show while watching the current version of Photoshop TV). Any other video player works fine, but if I wanted to use them, I would have never installed iTunes in the first place, the idea being that the integration was the blessing.
I USED to be able to watch a video, use Photoshop CS2, have Flash 8 open behind it, After Effects running on a seperate monitor, browse the web, and play freecell all at the same time, with several background utility style apps going all at the same time with out a hickup.
After trying the IDE fix's, the sound setup fix's and any other fix's found in the discussions (and yes, reverting them after they failed to fix the problem), I'm still having an issue, and now I can't find iTunes 6 to try to get back to a good time in life... oh why oh why apple, why do you have just as many issues as windows? I had hoped for so much more....
Anyone? Any Ideas? Anyone willing to email me itunes 6 so I can get back to a better time in life? Or provide answers? I've got a horriable track record with apple (over 20 business stopping questions, and to date 0 responses) so I am about 2 minutes from giving up
Sorry apple, but this is way past frustrating... were all your win/tel beta testers using mac's?
HomeBuilt Windows XP Pro ATI 9700 Pro / AMD Athlon 64 3800+ / hampster on treadmill running his head off...

Are sure that's not Flash needed for those videos?

  • I just moved my itunes library from a win 7 computer to a win 8.1 computer. Getting an error message "iTunes has detected a problem with your audio configuration. Audio/Video playback may not operate properly. Can't play CDs or get audio file from web!

Help! I just moved my itunes library from a Win 7 computer to a new Win 8.1 computer following the instructions on the itunes website. Everything is good except I'm getting an error message on the Win 8 computer if I try to play a CD or get an audio file off of the internet. I get an error message that says "iTunes has detected a problem with your audio configuration. Audio/Video playback may not operate properly. I don't know where to look for or fix the audio configuration on the win 8 computer. As far as I can tell the iTunes configuration looks the same as on the other computers in the house. At this point I don't dare plug my ipod touch into the Win 8 computer for fear it will get messed up.

I have the same problem and I know that it is due to my PCI Audio driver not being compatible with WIndows 8.1.
iTunes isn't the only program that can't direct sound to the built-in speakers anymore. The obvious solution would be to update the drivers, but unfortunately Dell does not provide an updated driver for my model, so I am stuck with that.
However, saying that, only my laptop speakers are affected by this. I can use sound fine on applications where I can choose the output device and direct sound to the head phones, but for some reason iTunes does not let you choose the audio device manually.
To listen to music I imported the iTunes Library in Windows Media Player and changed the audio output using the following instructions: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/c00d11ba
However, I would also like to rent movie's from iTunes,
Would be great if iTunes would let you choose the output device, too, like most other applications using sound  from Skype to Windows Media Player,...

  • Judder in flash video playback

I'm having this weird random judder issue when viewing video playback using the flash player (e.g. youtube).  The judder is very noticeable on 2d scrolling videos such as this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VAdHJYUjeVo&feature=g-all-u#t=10m40s.  I have gotten the judder to go away only a few times by jumping around video resolutions and using the "show video info" option.  It's totally inconsistent in terms of a fix.  Video info shows that it's running at 30fps and not dropping frames.  I've used current versions of firefox, chrome and IE with the same results.  I'm seriously baffled.
This just didn't become an issue with the current version of flash.  It's been an issue across many versions of flash.
In the ways of the troubleshooting I've tried with no success:
    Uninstalled and reinstalled flash.
    Turned off hardware acceleration.
    Disabled plugins and extensions.
    Uninstalled my antivirus (avira).
Done a clean wipe and install of my video drivers.
    Disabled aero.
Any ideas or suggestions would help a lot.  Thanks in advance.

    Thank you for replying.
    Bug report has been submitted.
I'm pretty sure the judder has always been there.  Sometimes it's more pronounced and sometimes it's not.  As I said it's very inconsistent.  But 95% of the time there is judder.
I tried uninstalling and reinstalling flash ver. 10.3.183.43 and unfortunately it did not fix it.
It's so weird.  It really looks like it's dropping fps at random and yet flash player video info says it's fluctuating between 29-31 fps and not dropping frames.
I really don't understand how me going back and forth between resolutions and fullscreen and right clicking on the video to bring up video info will make it go away randomly.

  • Connecting the canon SX50 to HDTV for video playback???

Connecting the canon SX50 to HDTV for video playback???
ok, Got this Camera, like it, except for a few confusing issues. I was told, in order to playback HD video onto my HDTV Samsung, with an HDMI4 on the left side of the TV, all I needed was a HDMI to HDMI cable.
(#1) Shut off both TV and camera, plug the cable into this HDMI plugin, turn on the TV and Camera power supply, and it should recognize, then start paying.
Well, I did it both ways, (#1) shut off, then turn on, and (#2) I just inserted the camera's HDMI to the HDMI4 while both were on, and tried opening up the Samsung's' Tools >Inputs, etc, and still nothing!
Is there an easy way to accomplish this?
The second issue i'm having , is how to shut off the slow motion playback, when viewing the videos, which were not recorded in slow--mo, and it's frustrating trying to playback in normal speed, but instead it plays in slow-mo.
I'm not quite sure I'm recording in full HD...The payback is only 60i

    Thanks grazie!
Well, i accomplished most of that and at least got the video on the display (Samsung Anynet HDMI3) But no sound!
I was also able to control the SX50 TV Display with my samsung remote, kool.
As far as the playbgack volume, I checked the camera, I did notice the OPERATIONAL SOUND was off, but when I played back the video on the camera itself, i did have volume.
On that subject of Slow motion videos, if i'm watching each video, then see one playing back in slow-motion, does that mean i actually filmed it in slow motion, without knowing? ( i can send it through Pinnacle Studio 15HD and speed it back up, but theres no background volume anyway)  if i did unknowingly videotaped in slow motion, i bettter be more observant in the future.
I'm going to increase that ''Operational sound'' on the tools / Camera and try to playback to see if I have any sound.
I have a Yamaha 7.1 reciever, and TV, BD player,Time-Warner cable all is connected to this receiver....I was pushing all buttons for inputs to see which one would work for sound with video, but could not find any.  Thanks, or grazie grazie!
