Video playback - sound but no image

Hi,
I'm running elements 11 (on windows 8 pro), and I noticed when I click on a video, (the thumbnail is there in organiser), and hit "play" all I get is grey screen, the timeline runs fine, theres sound, just no image.
Can anyone suggest a fix please?

VOB's are standard MPEG streams. MP4 and MOV are not in themselves a format, but a 'wrapper' and what is encoded inside them could be anything. GoPro is notoriously poorly handled by Elements.
Even if you don't have Premiere Elements you might want to check out the Premiere Elements forum as there is a ton of material (discussions, FAQ's and Tips/Tricks) discussing formats and the way that Elements handles, or doesn't handle, various formats.
It is quite common to see people posting that the Organizer can't display video but the Editor will, AND vice-versa!

Sometimes when working on an imovie projtect, I press space bar to watch it and it comes only the sound, but the image stays as a still frame of the image that is on the screen at that moment. It doesnt show as usually the movie.
Thanks for any help or suggestion.
PD: Maybe too much working on transitions or too many projects for the same event. I dont know. I m surprise with 8 ram and this happening.

Youtube on iPhone 4 plays videos with sound but no moving image

When I try to play a youtube video I do have sound but no moving image.
Can anybody help me how to solve this problem? Other apps that play video work just fine.
I have an iPhone 4 16GB OS 4.1.

Video manager- sound but no video when uploaded to...

I hope someone can help with this, i have been searching threads for hours. I can take a video off my pc and put it in to nokia video manager. I can then load it on to my phone. (on to the memory card). Problem is when i play the video on the phone i get sound but no picture. Could someone please give me a step by step instruction on how to solve this. The phone is a nokia 6131i with an additional memory card. Thanks.No technical jargon please!

Could you please confirm the video format you are trying to view in NOkia Video Manager? Following details are not meant to be jargon, as its mentioned in the help file of Nokia Video Manager for its normal users.
To be able to use Nokia Video Manager, make sure that you have Nokia PC Suite version 6.83 or newer installed on your PC. For system requirements, refer to Nokia PC Suite Help.
For video playback and conversion, make sure that you have the necessary codecs installed on your PC:
MPEG-2
DivX
xVid
QuickTime
For converting:
All the following formats can be converted to H.264/MPEG-4 AVC (.mp4)
avi, mpeg, mov, wmv, qt
For playing:
3gp, mp4, avi, mpeg, mov, wmv, qt

ITunes Video Playback - Sound skipping

Hi - Just bought a new PC and have installed iTunes and brought over all my sound and video files to it via iPod hard disk function. Music is playing perfectly. All video playback is accompanied by terrible stuttering and spluttering of the audio. This is occuring at all times - even if iTunes is the only app running. DVD playback fantastic on PC as is video playback using other apps. Videos i'm trying to play are all under 5 minutes long and differ in type from video podcasts to Pixar content bought from itunes shop. New PC has brilliant spec so don't understand - any suggestions? All help much appreciated - regards!!

I almost have the same problem with the Video Podcast the sound is bad, For the audio only it works perfectly. At first everything was in order and worked well.
Then for no reason I got the trouble with the sound of the Video Podcast there was echoes and the quality was poor.
Cause it’s new computer I re-installed everything, so it worked well again. Then after going on a web site that uses active X for animation I got the problem back. I have no idea if Active X QuickTime are connected but each time the pattern the same.
Have tried to re-install iTunes the Quick Time I have changed the Audio option about filters in both nothing helped.

This forum is created for computer systems and I am afraid it is the wrong place for your question.
Anyway I have tried to find manuals for your TV but without success. This model is not listed on any list I found for manuals.

Sound but no image with a hybrid usb dvb stick (PX1256E-1TVH)

I'm usind this usb key on windows 2000 on a notebook from another manufacturer(ie PIVm 1.8Ghz, 512M RAM, ATI Mobility Radeon 7500 with 32MB dedicated memory)
With Savvy TV 2.2.2
I use it with a normal antenna (used for my usual TV) and have a clear sound but a blank screen as image :-( and i'm not looking at a radio (like the FAQ imagine (!)). I'm just using analogic TV (not DVB)
Directx 9.0c is intalled
PS: The usb key is working, but with a bad image, with another pc (laptop) and a smaller antenna (because i don't have access to antenna in this room)
Any idea?

You should search in;
Options -> USB options -> TV Tuner -> DVB-T Tuner or USB Hybrid TV tuner
Remove the old software, reboot the notebook, clear the registry with CCleaner and reinstall the new software from the Toshiba page!

Trimmed Video has sound but no picture

I need to split a large video file in two. When I use the trim function and select the first half of the video, it works great. I get a file with just the first half of the video - great sound and picture. However, when I try and create a file containing just the second half of the video, I get sound put a scrambled picture. I've tried trimming as well as deleting the first half of the video and the end result is the same.
Any ideas of how to fix this?

I have the same cable and the component (same connectors but 5 of them vs. composite's 3 (where 2 being audio))
both my composite and component works with my tv with both my ipod touch 3g iphone4 and ipad2
composite really is the lowests quality format guess it's because of the resolution that it support that it does not support mirror
and the reason iphone4 does not support mirror is because it's video chip don't support converting what it display into H.264 in realtime same reason why only newer macs support airplay mirror too

ITunes Music Video. Sound but no video

Today I updated to OS X 10.7 Lion and have also installed iTunes 10.4.
Now I have a problem playing music videos, they play but I get sound only and no video.
How do I get the video stream to run as well?

Posting this question bought up the solution from another thread, "deselect the airplay speakers". I did this now it works fine.
I would have expected iTunes to give a warning. Ah well...

Youtube tutorial video has sound but no vision

I have been trying to see latest PS CC updates tutorials, there is sound but no vision.
OS X 10.9, Safari 7.1.

There don't seem to be any Apple guys about at the moment, and I know very little about Mac systems. I would have guessed it to be a codec problem, but seeing as we are talking about Adobe TV, it is probably using Flash. Try Google with

[EDIT] A lot of the Adobe TV titles are also hosted on YouTube. I think you'd be able to view those directly.

27" ACD to Sony Laptop - sound, but no image

I have a new 27" cinema display and am trying to get it to work with my Sony VPCZ laptop/dock. I have a USB powered DVI to mini adaptor made by SIIG. My laptop has responded by adjusting the size of its screen to match the ACD which has sound, but no picture. ACD works fine with my wife's macbook pro. Help!

The movie inspector window tells me this:

The film was cut on an Avid system but I don't have an Avid program on my computer and no longer have access to the system where it was cut. I'm trying to discover if another plug-in can be used on my iMacG5.

Video: Sound but no image

Hi, I'm trying to put a flash .swf video file into a PDF with
Acrobat 7.0 Professional using MAC OSX. When I make the video play,
all the sound comes through, but the screen remains a black box.
I've been able to make other flash movies, and quicktime movies
work. The flash file that doesn't work, however, will play in a
flash player on the PC computer that created it.

That sort of problem usually indicates that the video was
encoded with the VP6 codec, and is being played with an old
Flashplayer.
VP6 is only supported in Flashplayer 8 and newer, so I
suspect that the Flashplayer being used by Acrobat is version 7 or
older.

Home video: sound but no image....?

So I took a little 1 min. home video with my handheld digital video recorder, then I imported the video into iPhoto. Dragged the vid from iPhoto to iTunes "movies" in the Library. It's in there, no problem, able to view and listen in iTunes. I set the iPhone to sync this video, perform a sync, and the file is transferred to the iPhone. BUT when I view the file on the iPhone, I only get audio, no picture. All other videos (purchased from the iTunes Music Store) work fine on the iPhone, but not my home video. Anyone else run into this? Anyone know of a fix? Or is this another "not a feature" deal and we wait for a sw update? Thanks in advance for any help/ideas offered.

Qosmio G20-139 slow video playback sound ok

Hi,
I no longer seem to be able to play video files, play DVDs, or watch TV as the playback is in slow motion but sound is ok except on the TV.
Have tried to uninstall Graphics driver but it won't let me saying something to the effect of unable to uninstall as required to boot.
Also looking into uninstalling /reinstalling Video driver but can't find what it is. Is it the same as the Graphics driver (NVIDIA Go Geforce 6600)?
This all started (i think) when i tried to use a netgear router insatllation CD but stopped it half way even though it said not to... Then whole system went incredibly slow and crashed a lot for a while (even Word, Excel and Powerpoint) but think some updates have sorted that out.. but it still doesn't seem to be able to handle too much going on at once like before... plus some site heavily using javascript have also gone ridiculously slow.
Besides using product restore CD as not to hand as moved to diff country... Any suggestions please????

The display driver and the graphic driver is the same ;) some people call it display driver and some people say graphic driver
Im not quite sure why you are not able to watch movie files properly but possibly you would need some kind of codex.
The codec can be downloaded from different pages and many packages contains different codex.
Personally Im using N K-Lite Mega Codec Pack because it contains most necessary codecs.
I think its worth a try to install it!
Furthermore I recommend cleaning the OS using the CCLeaner its free tool and I had a good experience with it
