Video Player Control Bar hidden by OSX's Menu Bar

The iTunes video window's control bar is hidden under the menu bar. So I can't move the window or close it.
I can't find a way to reset this (or figure out how it happened).
Here's a link to a screenshot to help explain:

I played with the window size and eventually the window reset itself.

  • Title Bar hidden behind Apple Mac menu bar

    Hi
I am using Elements Organizer 12.1 and, for some reason, the title bar is hidden behind my Apple Mac menu bar.  Does anyone know how to click behind the menu bar so I can access the Elements title bar?
    Thanks
    Richard

The first thing to try is to go to system preferences>displays and set your screen resolution down as far as it will go. You may need to try a few different settings, but eventually it may snap back into place and then you can go back to the correct setting for your display.

  • Controlling itunes volume (airplay speakers) in menu bar.

I would like to ask how I can control the iTunes volume on the menu bar when I play a song through my airport express plugged speakers.
I sometimes want to suddeny turn them down when I get a call but to also put on headphones and listen to a video retaining the music through the air play speakers for others in the office..
The only way I can do this to manually go to the itunes window to turn it down, must be a better way.
    Any suggestions?

    Dear AA101,
you can try this app iTunes Volume Control. This should allow you to do what you need by means of keyboard hotkeys and apple remote, as well.

  • Top 2-3 files displayed in Finder are hidden under Finder's menu bar. How do I modify view to correct this?

Recently updated to Yosemite 10.10.2 on MacBook Pro (early 2011) and now when I open a folder in Finder, the top 2-3 files displayed are hidden under Finder's menu bar. I can scroll up to see the files, but they snap back under the menu bar preventing me from selecting or opening them. This problem occurs in the following Finder view preferences, "icons" "in lists" and "in columns" but not "Cover Flow".  Any assistance would be appreciated. Thank you.

This sounds like a Windows thing ( You can post a photo and I can tell you for certain). Those folders are Windows system created folders that your computer has had since it was installed, all Firefox does is use the Windows File picker, which is what you see when you open that window. So, to customize you'd have to do that from Windows Explorer (not Firefox).
The Window should however remember what folder you were in last.

  • Hi, i've just bought my first macbook pro, i just installed office mac and when i open the page i cannot see the minimise maximise and close buttons as it's hidden behind the apple menu bar, also when it's at full screen, those buttons do not appear

hi, i've just bought my first macbook pro, i just installed office mac and when i open the page i cannot see the minimise maximise and close buttons as it's hidden behind the apple menu bar, also when it's at full screen, those buttons do not appear

Try to edit the size of the page using the sides of the page, or if you are desperate, force quit using command-Q. In full screen put your cursor on the top of the page, and the menu bar will appear. If it doesn't keep "pushing" it up until it does. Hope this helps!

  • Hi I have a mac mini with my TV as a display. MY display includes the taskbar but no menu bar, how do I see menu bar???

    HI
I have a mac mini with my TV as a display. My display includes the taskbar but no menu bar, how do I see menu bar???

Make sure you are using a 1080p capable TV.   Some TVs have pixel level video ratio adjustment.  Sometimes that can force the menubar to be visible if it is the only display connected to the machine. Sometimes you have to go to your hard drive's Applications -> System Preferences -> Displays and drag the white bar on top of the display's representation to the other display.  You can only have one primary display with menubar.
Lastly, for non-1080p capable displays, DisplayConfigX or SwitchResX offer pixel level adjustments through software.

  • Trying to link video player controls

I'm sure this is a simple thing but I haven't been able to find out out to associate an absolute link with video controls. Please advise, thanks!

I figured it out--it was an option in the flash video player perameters.

  • Can you embed a video player with a tracklist with in the menu?

I'm constructing a dvd but I would like to have all the videos playing in a smaller video player with audio on the main menu page. I'd like to have a track list next to the video player within the menu so the person viewing can quickly scroll through all the videos.
It's a bit hard to explain so I drew a diagram of what I'd like to do:

    Thanks for all your help!

    Welcome to the discussions!
As you have found out, you won't be able to do this the way I think you are imagining is possible... DVDs just don't work the way that Flash or web pages do. There are significant limitations to prevent this from happening in a smooth manner, and as Eric intimated, you'll need to build a whole shedload of menus to even simulate the effect... and as you go through your track list and jump to each 'sub menu' you'll have to start each video clip from the beginning on each menu.
If you really wanted to you could have a whole series of duplicated sub menus that each have different clips from the same track and then use a set of scripts to select one at random so that the viewer doesn't repeatedly see the same start of a clip as they land on the same entry in your track list. Instead they'll see a randomly selected alternative from the same track.
But to even want to do this you've got to be certifiable...
Let alone the fact that each menu is a separate entity on your disc and there is no way you'll move smoothly between them as if it is one nice slick Flash movie - it'll have pauses and appear to stutter at each change.
What people tend to do instead is have a button for each of the tracks and put a video clip inside the button so the viewer can see all of the clip footage on one menu screen. A little 'old fashioned' in style, but massively more practical to achieve!

  • Tab Bar/Titlebar Acts Up while Menu Bar is Hidden

While the menu bar is hidden (made to require ALT to be pressed to be visible), the tab bar suddenly becomes overlayed with the titlebar (making the Windows titlebar and minimize/maximize/close buttons appear over the tab bar) whenever anything on the top of the window is interacted with.
Does the same thing in Firefox Safe Mode (no addons). I'm submitting this form in Safe Mode.

Set the pref <b>browser.tabs.drawInTitlebar</b> to false on the <b>about:config</b> page.

  • Cannot click bookmarks on menu bar after ALT-key when menu bar is hidden

If you personalize the toolbars, dock the "Bookmarks objects" to the menu bar (useful to reduce space) and hide the menu bar (making it visible by pressing the ALT key) you're not able to click a bookmarks bar's item anymore because (after having shown it by pressing ALT key) as you click the bookmark button the menu bar loses focus causing the whole bar to be hidden again and the click event to be catched by the main window instead of the bookmark button.
[http://alextm.no-ip.com/bookmarks_on_menubar.JPG Screenshot of the header with bookmarks]

With F10 you obtain the same result, the menu bar is shown but when you click on a non-menu item the bar is hidden again not allowing the bookmark item to catch the click event.
Of course I know how to move the bookmarks bar back to the tab bar, but it is not a solution to the problem I've posted, just a workaround. As I've said in my previous post I've moved the bookmarks bar there to limit the height of the window's heading section: if I move it down again I miss my target.
Anyway, I don't think we are here to decide wherever to place the bookmarks bar, but to notify to the developers the presence of this issue.

  • Menu Bar Items Covered by Word Menu Bar

There are 18 icons in the menu bar in the Finder, the 7 on the left hand side being applications I use the most. But I can't get access to them when Word 2004 is open because its own menu bar hides them from view, and they are things I need when using Word. They will not move as some of the icons do, so I cannot place them further over toward the right and put less used ones on the left. Is there a solution?

Sorry, I believe you're talking about the Dock and not the Finder's menu bar. Word's window should be resizable so it doesn't interfere with the Dock's icons. Please clarify the situation.

  • Ios 7 video player controls

When ever i watch videos on my iphone with ios 7 the rev the ff are not responding properly, all they just do is zoom in and zoom out the screen. I hope apple will fix his issue or give a update that will fix all the bug and all some more extra features.

My most sincere of apologies.  My "instruction redo" for clarity included a cerebral gaseous emission in the one place that was most important.
Step 6 should read "Select "Movie""
    1. Go to iTunes->Home Videos
    2. Right-click the video
    3. Choose "Get Info"
    4. Click the "Options" tab
    5. Click the "Media Kind" pull-down menu
    6. Select "Movie"
    7. Click "Okay"
Fell into that trap where you read something over several times to make sure you got everything correct, but you aren't really looking because you KNOW you got everything right.
Not only that, but I got it wrong the first time as well, although Florbid got it right (for Windows) in spite of my initial blundering.  If you read my first post, I say to select "Video", which was supposed to be "Movie" even then.
Hope this relieves your frustration.  But if it doesn't solve the problem, I have no other answer.
Message was edited by: Clyde Crocker to replace "brain **** " with "cerebral gaseous emission".

  • Black bar below email instead of menu bar

After installing the software update, I have a solid black bar below my email boxes. I can't reply, forward, delete or move mail without it. Is there a solution for this?

I've figured it out myself; I just had to reset the Iphone as follows:
" Press and hold both the Sleep/Wake button and
the Home button for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears."

  • How to hide scroll bar in video player

With iPhone in landscape position, when watching video using iPhone 5S' default video player, how can I hide the scroll/status bar at the bottom of the screen? It's obscuring large part of the video.

Tap in the video window while it is playing. The controls should disappear.

  • How can I change the menu bar in a Quicktime video?

My cousin and I are starting a video network and we want to create custom menu bars for our videos. We know about watermarks on the videos themselves, but I've seen some videos have custom menu bar titles irrespective of the file names and I was wondering how to do that?

If by "custom menu bar title" you are referring to the player window title bar, then most users would use QT 7 Pro to add a "Title" attribute to the "Properties" window and then enter the title they want displayed in the player window's title bar and "Inspector" window without affecting or changing the current filename.
