Open System Preferences > Flash Player then select the Advanced tab.
Click Delete All under Browsing Data and Settings
Then from your Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Privacy tab.
Click: Remove All Website Deta
Now delete the Safari cache.
Open a Finder window. From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder
Type or copy paste the following
~/Library/Caches/com.apple.Safari/Cache.db
Click Go then move the Cache.db file to the Trash.
Quit and relaunch Safari to test.
By the way, when you post for help, please mention which OS X is installed and in this case which version of Safari.
Click the Apple () menu top left in your screen. From the drop down menu click About This Mac. The version is noted there.
For Safari. Back to the Safari menu bar, click Safari > About Safari. The version is noted there.

  • Flash player not working on safari; any reasons why?

I just recently noticed that my safari flash player isn't working. As i was trying to watch some youtube videos, it keeps saying "Blocked-Plug in" when i continued to click on it, it then asks me to get the lastest flash player which i did. Even after downloading, redownloading and repeating the process, it still won't allow me to watch any videos. I've found some comments in here from the previous year with people who had experience the same things but their techniques aren't working either. Im just getting really frustrated and need some help. Fast

If you're sure you've installed the latest version of Flash, take each of the following steps that you haven't already tried. After each step, relaunch Safari and test.
    1. If you're getting a "blocked plug-in" error, triple-click the line below to select it:
/Library/Internet Plug-Ins Right-click or control-click the highlighted text and select
    Services ▹ Open
from the contextual menu. A folder should open. If there is more than one item in the folder with the words "Flash Player" (not "flashplayer") in the name, open the respective Info windows, check the version numbers, and delete all except the latest. You may be prompted for your login password. If you get the same error after doing that, re-download and reinstall Flash. Download it from this page:
Adobe - Install Adobe Flash Player
Never download a Flash update from anywhere else.
    2. If you get a "missing plug-in" error, select
    Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Security
from the Safari menu bar and check the box marked Enable plug-ins.
    3. Select
    Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Extensions
from the Safari menu bar. If any extensions are installed, disable them.
    4. In the Safari preference window, select
Privacy ▹ Remove All Website Data
    Close the window. Then select
     ▹ System Preferences… ▹ Flash Player ▹ Advanced
and click Delete All. Close the preference pane.

  • Flash player not working in Safari 3.1.1

I just installed the Safari 3.1.1 (5525.18) update and I no longer have a working Flash player.
I tried reinstalling the latest Adobe Flash player (9 UB), to no avail. I even tried rebooting (out of habit from my Windows days) with unsurprisingly little luck.
Flash used to work in Safari before 3.1.1. It still works in Firefox 2.0.0.14.
Any ideas? Is this a permissions issue?

    Welcome to Apple Discussions
    Thanks.
No problems with Flash 9.0.124 here.
Do you have Case-sensitive Journaled Mac OS Extended filesystem? I do.
Because my friend's MB has Case-insensitive Journaled Mac OS Extended filesystem and Flash is working fine with 3.1.1 on 10.5.2. Also Adobe Creative suite CS2 programs work fine in her MB, but don't even start up on my MBP.
    Just a thought.
Possibly. Did you repair permissions? If not, do so as any Flash install requires this step.
I have now. First I ran repair permissions with Disk utility, got some promising repair stuff like
    18.4.2008 14.52.55 Disk Utility[282] User differs on "Library/Internet Plug-Ins/Flash Player.plugin/Contents/Resources/Flash Player.rsrc", should be 0, user is 501.
Repair finished fine and Flash still didn't work. So I did un unistall with the Adobe Flash uninstall tool, a reboot (again, out of habit), a reinstall and a further repair permissions, again with a couple of User differs messages.
Yet, Flash still does not work.
Any further ideas? Or tips on how I could try debugging this? Console gives me squat.

Help, I can't get my laptop  to play a DVD. I've tried uninstalling the driver and letting windows reainstall at reboot, but that didn't help. My Toshiba video player also will not load completely. It will come up, but the blue wheel just keeps turning. I have no idea how to troubleshoot...fix this thing. Any help will be greately appreciated.

Your support page is here - http://support.toshiba.com/support/modelHome?freeText=1200005637
Go to control panel, then programs and features, and Un install the Toshiba Video player.

  • Adobe Flash Player not working on Safari

I am running Safari 5.1.5 on Lion 10.7.3.  For about a year now, I have been having trouble running Adobe Flash Player to view videos.  I can verify that I have Flash Player 11.2.202.235 installed, but on some (not all) website, most notably ANYTHING.yahoo.com, I just get a button to "Get Adobe Flash Player" even though I already have it.  Flash-based ads work fine, it's really just for videos.  I end up having to watch the non-working videos on Chrome where they work fine.  Any insight into what the issue might be?

    Hi Fred....
    Quit Safari.
Open System Preferences > Flash Player then select the Storage tab. Click: Delete All
Now uninstall the Flash plugin then reinstall new >  Troubleshoot Flash Player | Mac OS
Very important to uninstall the current plugin first.
    Then launch Safari.
From your Safari menu bar click Safari > Empty Cache
    Now try a video.
BTW... if you have the ClickToFlash extension installed, that can prevent Flash based video from streaming. It can also be installed as a plugin in /Library/Internet-Plug-Ins.
And check to see if Safari is running in 32 bit mode. Right or control click the Safari icon in your Applications folder then click Get Info. If the box next to:  Open in 32 bit mode  is selected, deselect, quit then relaunch Safari.

  • Adobe flash player not working in Safari

I have never had troubles with Adobe before the most recent update to Safari.  Now, I have tried to install Adobe Flash Player 3 times, and I still cannot get it to work.  I can open up applications with Firefox without any problems, but this is annoying since I would much rather use Safari.
Any help with this would be Great!!

    Select
    Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Security
from the Safari menu bar and check the box marked Enable plug-ins.
You do not need Java to view Flash content. The two things are unrelated. Java should not be enabled unless absolutely necessary.

  • Video player not working on iPhone 5

Hello! Recently I have been having trouble viewing videos on my safari web browser. When I am watching a video, the same scenes repeat at least thrice throughout the whole video, and I am not able to watch the full length video properly. This applies to all the videos I watch except for YouTube videos and I'm not sure why. I have tried watching various videos and they are all the same. It can play well for the first minute but shortly after the scenes would be repeating themselves. I have tried watching the same videos on my computer and the video seems fine so I think that the problem lies with the iPhone. Has anyone experienced anything similar?

Please help me! Do I send my phone in for a repair or is it just a bug?

  • You tube and flash not working in safari

Is anyone finding that you tube and embedded flash video is not working using safari 6?  the video window in youtube is blank, I don't even see the control buttons, flash videos embedded on other sites are similarly blank.  Quick check with Firefox shows all these films play normally.

Not sure if this is relateted but as I am having the same problem, I am only having the issue on the account that has Parental Controls enabled. The admin account can open youtube just fine. The Java plug in boxes are checked, I am running in 32 bit mode. I've tried every fix I have come accross to no avail.
On a side note, ever since I installed Mountain Lion, the Mac App Store is also sketchy. The account with Parental Controls can't log in, when I click "sign in" nothing happens. No 3rd party apps such as APE or FruitMenu installed.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • NYT videos not working in Safari 5

NYT videos not working in Safari 5

Work fine for me - they are just normal Flash videos.
Make sure your Flash Player is up to date.
The latest version of Adobe FlashPlayer can be obtained from here:
    http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/download.cgi?P1ProdVersion=ShockwaveFlash
(You can check here: http://www.adobe.com/products/flash/about/ to see which version you should install for your Mac and OS.
You should first uninstall any previous version of Flash Player, using the uninstaller from here (make sure you use the correct one!):
    http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=tn_14157
and also that you follow the instructions closely, such as closing ALL applications first before installing. You must also carry out a permission repair after installing anything from Adobe.
