Video playing from macbook to TV

Sorry for this odd question that may sound impossible for some or ludicrious for others but im a newbie and a computing n00b - so here goes:
I have movies (AVI files) i play on my macbook but the 13" screen is bit small to enjoy the flick - so i ask:
is it possible with a special cable to plug the macbook into the tv back sockets (scarts) or front plugs (AV red and yellow) in order to play the movie on my bigger screen TV 32" within the comfort of my couch?

You can use that to connect to S-Video and Composite. Check that out and see if it would work for your needs.

Video out from MacBook Pro to HDTV - no solution?

I've had this problem for over a year now and nobody has been able to help me solve it, not even the Apple guys. I need to get the video out from my MacBook Pro (Mini DisplayPort) to my HDTV which is an older model which only has Y/Pb/Pr analogue video inputs. Does anyone know which connectors I can use in order to get 1080i on my TV? My thoughts were MDP to VGA first so that we get an analogue signal, and then VGA to Y/Pb/Pr? Would this work? Why/why not? Please help!!!

No Video Plays From Computer To Apple TV

Video will no longer play from my computer through the Airport Extreme to my Apple TV. I can watch streaming video from the internet though. Any suggestions?

the appletv should not be used as a primary storage device.
if you delete the content from itunes, it will also be delete from the appletv.
the sync is one way so anything you did put on appletv, you could not retrieve it back to itunes.
you should look at expanding your storage on your mac, be it internal or external storage.

Why won't YouTube embedded video play from PowerPoint?

I have followed the normal process to embed video in PowerPoint 2010 (32 bit), and playback worked without issues a couple of months ago. Now it does not. I have completed all of the troubleshooting tips, and reinstalled latest FlashPlayer 32-bit, etc. When I go to play the embedded video in PPT, the following message appears:
"To play the selected item, you must install a later version of the Adobe Flash Player. To download the Adobe Flash Player, go to the Adobe website."
There does not appear to be any settings changed in browser (IE / Chrome), Windows Media Player, or PowerPoint.
Need a solution.

I went back to the embedded video code from YouTube, captured it and pasted it into the "insert video from Web site" and then deleted both "version=3" instances in the code:

How to make an html5 video play from Internet Explorer 9?

I have converted a swf eLearning video to html5 thanks to the cp converter. I can have the html output file played from Chrome but not from Internet Explorer 9. Could someone advise me, do I need some code to make it work? Thank you in advance for your help.

One of the quick and easy fixes for your problem is to go into your source code and in the <head> change the following:

<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" />
<meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="chrome=1,IE=9" />
<meta name="viewport" content="user-scalable=yes, width=360" />
<title>IntroVideo</title>
Where it says ,IE=9"/> simply change the 9 to an 8....
this tells IE9 to act like IE8 and makes all the video content way more accessable!

Can't make video calls from macbook air to iPad2

I'm trying to do video calls from my Macbook Air to my sister's iPad2. I am living in the Philippines and my sister is from Australia.
Is there any issues about its location? I tried to find a solution in Google then I found out we should change the dns server to 8.8.8.8, but unfortunately its not working at all.
Any advise?

Assuming your sister's iPad is connected to an available wi-fi network as well, has she had problems doing a FaceTime call with anyone else in Australia or elsewhere?

I have an iphone 4G-S, I get "NO SIGNAL" when trying to view Netflix while the digital AV cable is connect to my tv an my TV is on. If TV is off, signal is fine and video plays from netflix fine. Any ideas?

Steps I follow:
1. turn phone on
2. ensure signal is strong (att)
3. launch netflix
4. select and play video
5. watch video play for several minutes
6. plug in digital av adaptor with HDMI cable (not yet connected to television)
7. ensure video continues to play
8. connect HDMI cable to television (television not yet powered on)
9. ensure video continues to play
10. turn on Television
Result: video stops, results in "NO SIGNAL" as in no bars
11. Turn off television signal comes back and video resumes play
Is Apple or netflix purposefuly blocking the signal?

I should add that I see the video playing for about 30 seconds, everything looks and plays fine, then I get the "NO SIGNAL" and all att bars go away.
also, I'm using my phone istead of my laptop becuase I don't have internet service at home, wanted to just use my phone and it's unlimitted data plan to be able to watch netflix.

Control video wirelessly from Macbook

I would like to control video on a television wirelessly from my macbook. I basically want to control playback on a television during a short film shoot. In a perfect world I would use iMovie so that I could easily scroll to and from some very specific points in the video depending on continuity during filming. And then, of course, it would play on the tv. We are looking for a real quick, no hassle, way of controlling this video.
Will Apple TV wirelessly put what is on my macbook screen onto the television?????? If this were the case I could sync from iMovie and then play iMovie in full-screen mode and see it on the tv.

no appleTV won't do this... appleTV allows you to access iTunes media (movies, music and online radio) wirelessly though an interface that appears on your TV...
in addition you can play music from iTunes on you computer through the appleTV to you stereo system but there is no synonymous thing with video.

Stuttering sound when playing from macbook to AE 1-st generation

Hello dudes, i have a problemo, what i have: 44mb RJ45 lan cable, AE 1-st generation, sharing internet in 2.4 Ghz on copability N protocol, and iPad, MPB, MB 2009 year, iPhone 4, and sound system Geneva Size M.
problemo when im playing to airplay some times stuttering sound on my sound system, in preferens WiFi the way of looking bar wifi, i see Transmit Rate from 150mbps to 5mbps on my MB or MBP, and sound shuttering "hic-hic"...
tell me please why? maybe i not right setup settings AE???

Earlier I had a Windows XP and iPhone4. So photos taken from iPhone4 were copied to Windows XP machine using iTunes and then iTunes syncs these photos to iPad.
Now that Windows XP is no more and instead now I have a new Windows 7 machine and my Macbook. I didn't copied the photos from Windows XP to some external storage medium before dismantling that windows XP machine.
So the only location where these pics and videos are available now is my iPad (1'st Generation).
WIll a new copy of iTunes on Windows 7 be able to copy the pics and videos from this iPad?
Any suggestion?

Why won't video play from external disc drive?

I have an LG external disc drive (it's actually Super Multi) that a bought about 1 1/2 years ago when I bought my Macbook air. I am using OS X 10.9.5. I have downloaded music from CDs. I have a DVD course for work and I can pull up the outline and study guides, but when I go to play there video portion, I get a black screen with controls, but can't get the video portion to play. Anyone have ideas?

Download VLC player and see if that allows you to watch the video.

No video output from MacBook Air micro DVI to Polaroid HDTV via DVI to HDMI

Grrr! What's going on? The Apple online store finally sent me a micro DVI to DVI adapter and a DVI to HDMI adapter cable as well as headphone output to RCA adapter cables (for separate audio, since DVI will not transmit audio) and I hooked it up and - NOTHING! When I initialize the appropriate input setting on the Polaroid 27"HDTV the MacBook Air seems to get some sort of query signal as its screen flickers for a moment and turns to a grey screen for a couple seconds but then, that's it! Nothing! The Polaroid's screensaver remains and no signal, audio or video, is transmitted. Now, the micro DVI to DVI adapter is Apple proprietary so I don't think it is a DRM related issue where the chip might block the video signal coming out of the MacBook Air. The longer, DVI to HDMI adapter cable is by Belkin. Am I overlooking something? Could the new 27" Polaroid HDTV not be compatible with DRM protocol? I don't think so since all digital TVs equipped with an HDMI input are supposed to have DRM compatibility built in. What gives?

Well, BSteely, where to begin? After my extensive discussions with more than one support engineer at Apple in Toronto as well as in Austin an interesting picture is emerging. Seems that I'd omitted a few things: First, I was not trying to display HD content but rather standard definition content. Second, I made the mistake hoping for an elegant and easy solution in hookup via HDMI (new flatscreens don't even have a DVI port anymore) - bad mistake! As one of the technicians put it, HDMI is an "unsettled" platform when it comes to HDCP, currently in version 1.4 , meaning, I should have tried VGA instead, a "settled" platform after all. Now, whether this will work remains to be seen because I don't have a micro DVI to VGA adapter yet but suffice to say that in essence I've been getting the message from Apple that, yes, the MacBook Air will - in the near future - support HDCP, but for now it does not contain the necessary software simply because HDMI is in its forth incarnation; plus, as they put it, Apple can't be responsible for testing compatibility with every single HD television set on the market - while it is true that there are thousands in existence, at the same time there are only four versions of HDMI with different HDCP specs! So, while I may be partially answering my own query here, it seems that Apple at this point is not particularly eager to make this software available because they rather would like to sell their new displays with the micro DVI ports instead of us endusers being able to hook the computer video signal up to just ANY monitor or TV. In the end, it is my hope that they will reconsider and not forget who their customers are, maybe after the Christmas season....

Possible to stream video podcast from MacBook to Apple TV?

I am trying to stream podcasts from iTunes on my Mac Book Pro to my (lastgen) Apple TV. I am able to use it as speakers and play audio podcasts, but so far no video.
Is there something I'm missing?

My video playing from itunes will nto stop lagging?

None of my videos are playing on itunes, they all keep lagging and freezing. This has been since the newest version of itunes.

Unfortunately I still need help.
I got an email from a customer service rep at apple, who suggested I make sure that I had the latest version of itunes & the latest update for my ipod (I do).
Then said I should deauthoriza, then reauthorize my computer - I did.
Now none of my videos will play on the ipod. I can find them - they've been downloaded, they're under the "videos" tab in my ipod touch - just will not play. Some are definitely standard definition. Some definitely played yesterday afternoon.
So, I restet my iPod. Same Problem. So I restored my IPod - so wiped it clean. But once I resynced - I still have videos on my ipod that won't play.
...OK, now I tested some other things on the iPod. I downloaded a few comics - can't read them. Downloaded games - can't play them.
What does work - music, my internet connection.
You know, I think I might be within the return policy for this iPod Touch. Someone advise me - am I making a mistake to keep this? Should I just get something else, instead? I really thought this Touch was the coolest thing and was thrilled to have it - but if it's going to be like an expensive car that's always in the shop, is it worth it???

How can I make several videos play from one player much like Presentation widget

Is there a way to have several videos, in thumbnails, play through one player similar to the manner which Presentation dosplays selections from image thumbnails?
