Video Plays Back only in transitions

I have live type and movie (.mov) files that will only move in the transition. The rest plays back as a still picture. If I run these directly in fcp they run fine. However, I am trying to run them in fcp 5.1.4 with a Boris Red Filter. This is when the motion stops.
FCP Setting: DV NTSC easy set up. In the sequence setting I have changed the field dominance to none. Frame size 720x480 NTSC DV (3:2), Pixel aspect ratio NTSC-ccir601/DV 720X480, Compressor DV/DVCPRO-ntsc, Audio Setting, Rate 48 khz, Depth 16-bit, Config-Default
Boris Red settings are at factory setting. Boris Red Movie media is set at lower field, 16:9 Aspect ratio, premultiplied white, coach movie frame-current size, native size 720x486, imported size 360x240. I have tried changing these settings. I am still unable to get motion.
I feel its something in the settings. However this worked for prior video's.
I have trashed cache files, rerendered and tried coping to another sequence. Any Suggestions?
Thank You

I resolved the problem by throwing the Boris Red Preference files.
Thanks

  • Is it possible to change brightness in video play back?

Is it possible to change brightness in video play back, without having to go to settings?
If not, then who agrees this should be possible?
I’m sure most iphone users have the stock brightness setting set to low to save battery power, but it’s very irritating when you go to watch a video in bright lighting conditions and in order to see it properly you have to go back out and change it.
I am not computer programmer, but I’m sure it would be possible to have a slider (just like the volume) and could be introduced in a update.
I think it would improve the overall iphone experience just that little bit more.
    What do you think?

All Help > System Info does is to report your system specifications so you can copy and paste them in the forums for troubleshooting purposes.
You can choose what to highlight and copy, but it does not change anything in your system like editing a configuration file would.

  • Webcam video plays back super fast speed

hi, does anyone know about this: when i record video from my creative Live! Cam Video IM Pro, the play back is like twice the speed of real life. like a video speeded up. it was working fine on my previous computer, which was windos xp, and i upgraded to a newer computer with windows vista 64 bit, and now the video play back is too fast. i also tried viewing the video on other viewers like windows media and VLC, still too fast.

    Hi David,
I think we may be able to say more if you can tell us more about the rest of your code. What sort of structures are you using, and where are you dropping your AVI Capture code in? Is the video sped up on your front panel or when you play the resulting file?
You should post the larger piece of code if possible.

  • Captured video plays back fast (sped up) in Final Cut Express 4

I had a Panasonic mini-dv digital camera that was stolen and it worked great with FCE. I purchased a JVC GR-D870 (mini-dv) as a replacement and now in FCE when I capture video it plays back fast in the Viewer and if I open the .mov file in Quicktime. Note that the video plays back at the correct speed when played from the camera, and when the video is being captured. I've tried changing my Easy Setup, but nothing has helped much. I'm currently using the DV-NTSC FireWire Basic setting, though it doesn't matter which one I chose. I did try using the 25.00 fps DV-PAL setting and interestingly it will capture for about 2 seconds and then crash, but the 2 second clip I'm left with seems to playback at the normal speed. This is an NTSC camera so not sure how to get the video that I capture to play at the correct speed (frame rate?). Any help would be most appreciated.

    Never heard this one before!
I have no idea why it is playing back fast, but if you have an NTSC camera you must use an NTSC Easy Setup.
When FCE behaves strangely the first thing to try is to delete the preferences as described here:-

  • Why does my Flash Player keep freezing during video play back?

I have the very lastest version for Windows 7 64bit OS and it keeps freezing during video play back.  The previous versions did not do this. I have to keep the cursor moving inside the video window to prevent the player freezing.  I have deslected HARDWARE ACCELERATION and it does not help.  Why is this happening and how do I correct this situation?

Right click ANY Flash content and choose "Setings".
Click the folder icon (center tab) and increase the storage to at least 10Mb.

  • When I chose the GPU Acceleration on my general settings I only get audio and not video play back

It has been extremely frustrating for me because my computer can render files fast just couldn't read the graphics card I had so I had to unlock it. I am hoping someone on here has done something similar to help me get this to work because the only thing that I am having trouble with as far as when it is on software only is on play back. I kept dropping several frames and it was really frustrating me. I think I may have found why I am having this problem and hope someone on here can help me out.
    15. Now just add the name of the card between the “Renderer string:” and the forward slash “/” to the cuda_supported_cards.txt file.
This was on of the steps that I did not understand and could be the reason why it is not working properly because I did not know how to do this.
Like I said it is letting me switch to the GPU Acceleration mode just not letting me see any video on anything in cs6.
This is the link to where I learned how to get premiere cs6 to read my graphics card http://www.studio1productions.com/Articles/PremiereCS5-2.htm
I have a GeForce GT 525M graphics card and according to that site I can get premiere to read my graphics card to help me playback without dropping frames.
I also installed the latest driver so that can not be the issue as of now. If you know the answer please help this is very frustrating.
    Thanks!

  • CS4: Why do I have Lag on only 1920 1080 video play back??

    Hi,
I currently record with a Sanyo Xacti HD2000, at 1920x1080 30fps SHQ resolution. Whenever I play the clips on the camera or Nero Essential 8 on my computer there is no lag problems. However the moment I upload a clip onto Premiere Pro CS4 with this resolution I have severe lag on the play back from the Premiere video screen. I've recorded on 1280x 720 and 640x480 on the camera too and the play back is completley fine with no lag what so ever, just the moment Full HD clips are imported do I get any lag. I don't think it's because my computer can't handle it either as it has in it Core 2 Duo processor, 3GB of Ram and an Overclocked 1GB Geforce 8600 GTS Graphics Card. The only thing I'm not sure about is what Presets I should be using for my footage as this might be the problem.
    If ANYONE can help I'd seriously appreciate it, you can email me a [email protected] If you want to further questions about anything you may feel may help you guys helping me or just to communicate to me faster;
    Thank you sooo much!!!

    Hi,
I dont think the gpu of your graphics overclocked card is used at all in the cs4 environment...thats more for gaming stuff.
so you can rule that out as a "plus"
The 3 gig ram is kinda anemic...low power...every gig helps...so 4 would be better...think about it...the OS alone uses a lot of ram..
the power requirements that adobe says you need to run the program is on the low end of requirements...and you are maxing things out playing with real high HD stuff.
everything else is a question of how you set up your hard drives and raid array and so on to deal with editing in general ( there are hardware threads about how to set that up best....scratch disk and so on...cache...)
plus you might have a red bar above your timeline indicating it should be "rendered" for smoother playback...and that has an effect too.

  • Canvas window - video plays back at different speeds from the timeline. Why

I've scanned 25 pages of topics but found nothing that mentioned this as a problem. When I play a sequence in the timeline, the video in the Canvas window slows down (and sometimes suddenly speeds up to catch up with the audio) About the audio, it sounds find regardless of how the video is playing back. if I hit the space bar to stop play back, the video snaps to the correct position.
    Any ideas why?
Sometthings I've noticed : If I restart my computer, the video tends to play back fine. But if I leave the program open and use it alot, the play back problem happens over time. If I make the canvas window tiny (25% size), the video plays fine but at 50% - I get video speed changes. (audio, always good)
Here is what Im using : The project is about 20 mins long. I have over 50 gigs of HD space (the Macs main drive) Im using FCP version 4.5 on a Dual G5. 2.5 GB of Ram.
Well thanks to any one who respones.

Does this happen in any other sequences within this FCP project? Or, for that matter, with any other projects on your FCP system?
And, to confirm, your media is running off your system drive? That is, your machine has only one hard drive on it, correct? (Partitioned or not)

  • Video playing back choppy even in Source window

I've been working on a project for a while and wanted to back it up to a hard drive. We have an internal hard drive bay so I shut the computer down, put in a 500GB hard drive, backed up the project, shut the computer down and removed the hard drive.
Now, all of the sudden, my footage is playing back choppy. I probably shouldn't say it's playing back choppy because what happens is I'll take a raw clip, load it into the Source window start it playing and it plays fine for about 8 seconds, then it starts stuttering, the audio drops out completely and then it completely freezes up. It doesn't seem to matter what clip I'm using and all of these clips used to play back fine.
We are using a Matrox RT.X2 card and the footage is on four 500GB hard drives that are in a RAID 5 array, so I have a total of 1.5TB of space. Would defraging the drives make a difference?
I'm not sure why this has just started when nothing was added or taken away from the project.
The computer's specs are as follows:
    Win XP Pro
    2.66Ghz Core2 Quad
    4GB Ram
    GeForce 7600GT
    Matrox RT.X2 Card
300GB SATA HD for Operating System
4x 500GB SATA HDs in RAID 5 array for Footage

According to the Intel Matrix Storage Console (which is the software that monitors and controls the RAID array on this motherboard, an Intel D975XBX2), the raid is working properly and is not being rebuilt.
To check and make sure the software was working properly I shut down the computer, unplugged one of the hard drives in the array and restarted the computer. The monitoring software reported that the array was missing a hard drive.
I have seen before when the array was being rebuilt. It will state this in the monitoring software. But the software is reporting all is well.
So I backed up everything and deleted the RAID array. I recreated the RAID array and was still getting the same problem. To test every time, I have a 900MB file that only takes about 20 seconds to transfer between two single SATA hard drives in the same computer. When I tried copying this to the RAID array it said it was going to take about 30-40 minutes!
I removed my boot drive and put in a spare that we had, formatted it and installed Windows XP, hoping that the problem was in the operating system. After installing the mobo drivers I tried copying the 900MB file and again it was going to take 30-40 minutes.
I deleted the RAID array and just made each of the 4 500GB hard drives a separate drive. I formatted each of them and tried copying the 900MB file to each. Each one of them only took about 20 seconds on their own to copy the file.
SO, I'm assuming that the problem is the RAID controller on the motherboard. The motherboard has an Intel ICH7R/DH SATA RAID controller. I purchased a Rosewill RC-209-EX PCI controller from Newegg.com and I'm really hoping this will fix my problems. I'm having it overnighted (which costs more than the controller itself) so I'll put it in tomorrow.
If anyone has any other suggestions, please let me know.

  • Video Plays back vertically instead of horizontally

I shot a video with my bloggie touch of a stage show, holding the camera horizontally. My problem is it plays back on the Bloggie and my computer vertically.
Is there a way to rotate this video? Otherwise I can't watch this, and the video is useless.
    Any thoughts?

page 17 shows the views of how the picture was taken
    http://www.docs.sony.com/release/MHSTSs ... ndbook.pdf
Yes you can shoot video in any orientation, However, for a widescreen movie It is recommended to shoot your video in landscape mode. If you shoot holding the camera vertically, The video will record and play back vertically showing the black aspect ratio bars you see on the above page 17. For widescreen, 1920-by-1080 video, you'll need to shoot in landscape mode, with the screen sideways and the Record button to the left or right.
In order to rotate your existing video you will need to use a video editing software to edit and save. Windows and Macintosh operating systems alike both have basic video editing programs that came standard, or is readily available for download with the software.
