We are having a problem with LR not exporting all of the images when saving to a folder. It errors on some images and will not save them. All of the images are available and LR will export a web photo gallery with all of the images without any problems. Am I missing something?
    Thanks,

Updated to 1.2 and all is well.

  • Will not let me delete file folder

I have duplicate file folders. If I try to delete the folder it will not let me or if I can delete the folder it comes back.

    Mr. Victor,
I am not very tech savy but I believe I am using POP not IMAP. I can delete all other folders except the file folders that have a duplicate file. Duplicate file folder is not created by me, in fact if I try to make a duplicate file folder that already exists, Thunderbird will tell me that file already exists; change name.
Concerning the duplicate file folders (all are empty) I have three problems:
While in Thunderbird it will let me delete one of the file folders but I have to empty trash bin before I can delete the second file folder, however, when I turn my computer on the next time and go to Thunderbird the files folders are back.
When I click on properties of the duplicate file folders, one of the duplicate files has a default character Encoding of "Arabic ISO 8859-6" I have tried to change it to the "Western (ISO-8859-1)" which is what all the other file folders show but it does not help in resolving the problem.
Also when I open the properties option on the file folder, it gives an option to repair file folder which does nothing when clicked on.
I am concerned that there is some short of virus or other problem but McAfee scan shows no problems.

  • Finder will not allow user to create folder on a network drive

I have an 27-inch iMac (Late-2012) that I recently did a wipe of the HD and reloaded the OS. When I did the reload, I installed MacOS X 10.9.2 but have kept it up to date, so that it is currently running 10.9.4. The user of this computer connects to a server and authenticates with a separate username and password. He can connect, authenticate, and view everything on the server fine, however, when he tries to create a new folder in the primary folder that he works with, Finder will prompt him for an Administrator Password and, despite what he puts in, (The Mac Admin Username & Password, his Mac username & password, and the username & password he uses to authenticate to the server) it will return that he does not have permissions to create the folder. Now, he can copy folders in this same folder, he can rename them, he can delete them, and he can also drag and drop a folder into the folder all from within Finder. He is also able to create new folders on his Mac without Finder prompting for authentication. I thought that it could be the network account that he uses to connect to the server, however, he is able to ssh to the server, navigate to the folder and run the mkdir command and create a folder. I have did a permissions repair, which has not corrected the problem,  and I have even had him try being logged in under the Mac Administrator Account in which Finder prompted him for a password. I have also had him try to create a folder from another Mac on the network running the same version of MacOS, which he was able to do. I am at a loss. I cannot think of what it could be or anything else to try. Has anyone else encountered this problem before? Any help or thoughts are greatly appreciated.

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a test, not a solution. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
    Step 1
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is localized to your user account.
Enable guest logins* and log in as Guest. Don't use the Safari-only “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac.”
While logged in as Guest, you won’t have access to any of your documents or settings. Applications will behave as if you were running them for the first time. Don’t be alarmed by this behavior; it’s normal. If you need any passwords or other personal data in order to complete the test, memorize, print, or write them down before you begin.
Test while logged in as Guest. Same problem?
After testing, log out of the guest account and, in your own account, disable it if you wish. Any files you created in the guest account will be deleted automatically when you log out of it.
*Note: If you’ve activated “Find My Mac” or FileVault, then you can’t enable the Guest account. The “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac” is not the same. Create a new account in which to test, and delete it, including its home folder, after testing.
    Step 2
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
Please take this step regardless of the results of Step 1.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you turn on the computer, and again when you log in.
Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a Fusion Drive or a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to start up and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal startup may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of Steps 1 and 2.

  • IMac will not boot - flashing question mark folder

    Hi Everyone,
This evening I did the update for Xcode on my iMac (purchased in 2012, new one with no DVD drive). I attempted to restart the iMac and the folder with the question mark inside it started flashing and would not stop.
I have launced Internet Recovery with Disk Utility and verified the disk, and the result was "The disk appears to be OK", (this filled me with hope...). I selected the Startup Disk and I got the same result. I removed all the external peripherals and that did not solve the problem. I don't have a Time Machine backup of this Mac as it failed every time I tried to run it to my NAS drive. I have all of my iPhone app work on this iMac and don't really want to wipe my HDD. I have tried everything I can see that the forums and Google suggest... does anyone have any ideas?
    Thanks in advance
    Ed
P.S. Disk Utility showed all available space as over 400 gigabytes... so I am pretty certain that it is not a disk space error.

If you have a USB full installer, then you can boot from it by holding the alt key at startup and selecting the usb.  Once it loads, you'll be presented with a menu allowing you to select (reinstall the OS).  This will then allow you to select (Macintosh HD).  It will reinstall the OS without prompting you to run setup assistent or anything like that.  You'll just reboot into the login screen.
    You're on OS 10.8.5.  You'll need a full copy of 10.8.5 (it's almost 5GB) restored to a 8GB usb.
You can do internet recovery.  It's like having a full installer but the files are downloaded from the internet.  When you used internet recovery to check your disk, there should have been an option to reinstall the OS as well.  It is doing the same thing via the internet that I described using a USB.

  • MacBook Pro 13 2010 running Mountain Lion: will not boot and shows a folder with a flashing question mark. Will not start in 'safe mode' i.e holding shift on start up - nor can I call up any utilities with the OSX shortcuts. Any thoughts?

Following an automatic update, the machine wouldn't boot. Screen came on (shows white) - then either showed a 'No-Entry' Sign and a spinning cog, or a folder with a qusetion mark. I  tried to start the machine in different modes ( eg. holding shift after the tone ) but nothing worked. after leaving the machine alone for 1 hour. It worked perfectly again. I did a 'verify disk' check which found no problems. 2 hours later it then froze ( In - Photoshop). Could not force quit, so shut down, and have not been able to boot again since (white lit screen - flashing folder with question mark) . I have also taken the hard drive out and checked the connections which seem fine. Any suggestions? - Is the Hard Drive dead. : other info : It was also running parallels 8, with Windows 7. at the time of the update....

This article may help: A flashing question mark appears when you start your Mac.

  • ITunes will not open because the iTunes folder can't be found!

Okay, so I am trying to open iTunes and it is saying it can't open because the iTunes folder can't be found or created. The problem is it is RIGHT WHERE it is supposed to be, in the music folder. I click in and try, but it doesn't work. AT ALL. I'm more than a little angry. I just downloaded the latest iTunes, and I'm kind of upset bcause that is why it isn't working- it didn't have a problem before.
Can someone PLEASE tell me what is going on and how I fix it?

    Try this.
Press and hold the option key while starting itunes.
    Create a new library.
Select your existing itunes folder in your music folder.
With luck it will be happy now.

  • Itunes will not install due to Invalid folder path

I have downloaded Itunes and every time I attempt to install it I get the message "The folder path "My Pictures" contains an invalid character". What can I do?

    This should help,
This happens due to incorrect shell folder value type, or due to incorrect data in the registry. To resolve the problem, fix the My Pictures Shell folder paths in the registry accordingly. The default values are given in a tabular column in the following article. There is also a .REG fix available in the following page:
    http://windowsxp.mvps.org/usershellfolders.htm
Don't forget to inspect the value type. If you're using an expandable string data such as %userprofile%, then the registry value type should be of REGEXPANDSZ, not REG_SZ.

  • Had to reinstall OS and Itunes..Will not import songs from library folder

I reinstalled my Windows 7 OS and Installed Itunes 10.6 but when I add my ipodmusic folder to the library it does not import the songs into the library. I tries dragging and dropping a few songs but it deletes them from the folder.
    Any ideas?

I think I'm having the same problem. This is what I get when I try to import songs:
The iPod “Ian” is linked to another iTunes music library. Do you want to change the link to this iTunes music library and replace all existing songs and playlists on this I Pod with those from this library?
    Yes No
What is this about? My buddy accidentally hit yes, and lost all of the songs on his iPod. I simply want to update my iPod with new material. This new material was obtained while using a different computer than what I originally used when I first got my iPod. Does anyone know how I can get music from a new computer on my iPod

  • ITunes will not open and my Music folder is empty

When I try to open iTunes (even when holding shift) it says "The "iTunes" folder could not be found or created, and is required. The default location for this folder is inside the "Music" folder."
My music folder is empty, however, the music is still on the computer - I have the same amount of space remaining on my hard drive as I did before this happened.
Any suggestions? I have it all backed up fortunately.

Hello, Following are quick tips to try. Along with a knowledge article on how to completely remove itunes
    1. Create a new user, attempt to launch iTunes and see if it opens
    2. Run Disk Utility on the user account that is not able to open iTunes, relaunch after repairs are complete
    3. Go to Applications - Move the iTunes application to trash, Reboot Mac, Download and install latest iTunes again and launch
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
If you find it is still not opening the following article below is a complete removal of iTunes.

  • ITunes will not open as cannot find folder.

My Documents was moved to a server at work. Now when I try and open ITunes when not on the network, I get the following message:
The folder "ITunes" cannot be found or created, and is required. The default location for this folder is inside the My Music folder.
I have removed I tunes and reinstalled and can never get to the ITunes to modify preferences. Any suggestions?

    Welcome to AD!
What has helped lots of folks with this same error message is a shift-start of iTunes.
Press *and hold* the shift key while starting iTunes. When prompted, choose to open an existing library and browse to the default ITL file location.
    Vista: C:\Users\ your username \Music\iTunes\iTunesLibrary.itl
    XP: C:\Documents and Settings\ your username\My Documents\My Music\iTunes\iTunesLibrary.itl
Might be a good idea to have Win Explorer display file extensions before trying this.

  • I updated to FCP X 1.6, now my projects and events will not read

I chose the option update projects and events upon launching 1.6. Now my hard drive is being read as a camera, and I can't load my old events and projects. Strangely when I first open FCP, it appears to read the projects and events, and opens showing the drive and events, but then they simply disappear. Any ideas how to load the events and projects?
P.S. I tried going back to 1.5, but now that I chose the update events it will not read.

You have a folder at the root of your hard drive that is confusing FCP X.
Common names are "Private", "DCIM", "Video", and others.
Rename or put the offending folder inside another folder (i.e. not at the root of the hard drive).
