Have you upgraded Quicktime to version 7.0.3?
This is part of the additional video requirements.

    Hy,
    I´m trying to connet my iMac G4 (700; flat; geforce MX2) to my Samsung Plasma PS42B430 using S-Video.
    I have the Mini-VGA to S-Video Adapter; My TV has no VGA - only HDMI and Euro/Scart.
    But all I get on the TV is:

  • Video probs with QT

    audio plays on .mov files shot on iphone, but vid doesn't play or skips. I'm using XP--uninstalled itunes and QT, reinstalled and have QT set for safe mode.  I can play the vids on my ipod, but not the hard drive. MPEG-4 files play fine. ideas? thanks.

    the inspector reads, in part:
    Format: AAC, Mono 16,000 kHz
                   H.264, 0 x 0, millions
    does the 0x0 refer to the size of the video content?  Would the phone have put the video in a separate file?  I just copied the mp4 file from the phone when connected with a USB.

  • Flash Video - Probs with NetStream.onMetaData

    So i have created a video player and have noticed something
    about the onMetaData function. I have a path to the videos as a
    relative path to my .swf file ( myPath = 'media/'; ) and when i
    test my movie, the onMetaData function does not get called.
    However, when everything is online, or being pulled from an
    absolute path ( myPath = '
    http://www.mydomain.com/media';
    ) it is called.
    I was just curious as to why that is...?

    ewon15,
    > well i'm using actionscript 2.0 ... i have not had a
    chance
    > to dive into AS3.
    No worries. :) It just makes a difference in regard to
    whatever
    snippets or samples would be helpful to you.
    > i'm not sure what you mean when you ask me if there is
    > metadata in my FLV...
    When the FLV file is encoded, it may or may not have
    additional
    information -- the metadata -- embedded into it. MP3 files,
    for example,
    mainly contain audio recordings, but they have the capability
    of also
    containing metadata a such as copyright date, the recording
    artist's name,
    etc. If your FLV has no metadata, then the
    NetStream.onMetaData event won't
    be prompted to do anything.
    > but the way i know the onMetaData method of the
    NetStream
    > class was not being dispatched was by the timer and
    scrubber
    > i set up...plus i put a trace in the method and it was
    not outputting
    > anything...
    Sometimes it helps to trace more than just the value of a
    given object.
    It's possible, for example, that the trace() is indeed
    putting content to
    the Output panel, but maybe that content is an empty string.
    > here's the gist of my code:
    > [lots of code ...]
    Aha. So your trace is "hello," which should certainly be
    visible in the
    Output panel -- provided the FLV file has metadata. That's
    good. And
    you're saying that everything works with absolute paths, but
    not relative
    paths? That makes me wonder if the relative path is hitting
    the video file
    at all. (Of course, it would presumably be obvious if not,
    because you
    wouldn't see the video at all.)
    A quick glance at your code doesn't reveal to me anything
    outright
    wrong. Some of that code looks like it was suggested by one
    of my blog
    articles, but I can't be sure of that. (I was going to refer
    you to my
    blog, but I didn't want to send you on a wild goose chase, if
    you'd already
    come from there.)
    My general approach, when I run into something baffling like
    this, is to
    isolate the problem area in a separate FLA, so I can study it
    without the
    distraction of the rest of the code. Here's a quick snippet
    from the Help
    docs, for example ...
    var nc:NetConnection = new NetConnection();
    nc.connect(null);
    var ns:NetStream = new NetStream(nc);
    ns.onMetaData = function(infoObject:Object) {
    for (var propName:String in infoObject) {
    trace(propName + " = " + infoObject[propName]);
    ns.play("
    http://www.helpexamples.com/flash/video/water.flv");
    Paste that into a new FLV, test the SWF, and see if you get
    output in
    your Output panel. You should. Then save that new FLA into
    the same folder
    as your existing work and change the absolute path of that
    Adobe file to the
    absolute path of one of your own. See if the same sort of
    output appears in
    your Output panel. It should. If it doesn't, that means your
    FLV doesn't
    have metadata. If it does, remove the URL portion and see if
    it still works
    locally for the same FLV (your FLV), but with a relative
    path.

    I am trying to use the A/V out and I get no picture, has anyone else had this problem? and what is the fix? I get the audio part but there is no picture on the tv.

    Make sure that you have the right A/V out cable. Read this webpage :

  • Xdoc and iPod Classic video prob

    The question here is does anyone know if Creative will do a software upgrade so that the video portion of the ipod can be seen? Can the Xdoc receiver be upgraded via USB cable?, or does iPOD has a sofware upgrade so that the iPOD classic can be used with the Xdoc?.
    If upgrade are out of the question why sell a product that is not compatible with the newer version of iPOD? Not fair to those that want to be always up to date with their electronics, makes no sense to go BACKWARDS.

    Hey OfficeMaven...
    I also have one of the newer DLO Homedocks and a 80GB iPod Classic. I only have music on the iPod, so I don't know if the video out feature is working for me. As for the music features, they all seem to be working fine EXCEPT I am not able to PAUSE songs. The Play/Pause button has no affect once the song has started. Do you have this problem also? Not sure if problem is with iPod or Homedock. I really don't care about the video, as I am using primarily as a music server. BTW, mine also doesn't display album art... a little irritating, but I can live with it.
    Thanks

  • MSI G4Ti4600 VTD recording video probs

    hi all, i decided today to link my parents DVD player to my G4 so i could record some of my favourite movies to my hard drive, as they use the DVD player 24/7 only thing i've noticed though is the quality that i recieve at the G4 is not very good, has a criss cross pattern on the video, with a strange green line at the top is there something i've done wrong or is it something i need to setup?
    and before someone says it, i'm not going to share the copied DVD on the internet, as i've paid alot of my money for them and no one will get them off me for zip all nothing...

    For the green line it could be your drivers.  30.30 I had a green line about 20pixels deep.  I went back to 29.42 and the green line is a fuzzy 1-5pixels.
    For the criss-cross ?(  maybe macrovision is affecting the recording??? or maybe adjust the frame rate.
    The size of the movie may also have output problems also.
    If you have a DVD player on your computer, an easier method would be to SmartRipper the vob files to disk, then flask the movie into DivX 3,4 or 5.
    Also if you could email me a movie.  I have a 10meg limit on my email address, so if you could break that down to say.....100 files......... :D
    Hope this helps some....

  • Laptop consuming battery fast and a constant flow of heat from CPU

    Hello to all.
    I'm having similar problems like this one, here using a Dell Vostro 3460, maybe is just some non-windows OS unfriendly hardware. Battery last like 5 or 6 hours on Windows, and just like 2 or 2 and a half on Arch. Will remove battery until there is a solution, and use the laptop only on my workplace.
    I have to admit that, I don't know how to disable the discrete video card, I just blacklisted nouveau.
    LCD is not hot, there is just constant flow of heat by the ventilation gap (maybe the CPU dissipator?) brightness settings are ok. On windows that heat flow sometimes just stops.
    Any help is very appreciated.
    Thanks.

    @lahwaacz,
    Could you point me to documentation regarding bugs/problems with laptop-mode tools? I'm using that right now and it has always worked pretty well but I'm currently seeing higher temperatures (~10C higher on average) and trying to figure out why.
    My fan operates continually but not, I think, very aggressively. But it has always done that so I assume it is normal for this laptop. (Have no idea really but it doesn't seem out of the way - it is a laptop, after all...)
    I don't know anything about fan control, my laptop controls fan speed automatically, I can't even get current fan speed.
    The main problem with laptop-mode-tools is that it's very huge, and the bigger the program is, the slower is the execution. Another problem is that it's connected to both battery and AC adapter ACPI events (see /etc/acpi/events/lm_{ac_adapter,battery}). On my laptop, those events are sent at the same time, resulting in running laptop-mode-tools twice. Most people once configure laptop-mode-tools to their liking and their hardware, so I think there is no need for such an extensive software like laptop-mode-tools, if something simpler does the same (or better) job.
    Also laptop-mode-tools can conflict with pm-utils (which are installed on many systems as dependency for some packages):

  • Can't see screen during bootup m58

    Hi, I have a SFF ThinkCentre M58.  I had a video prob on one of my partitions (not related to my current prob).  I went into bios and switched my video from automatic to I think "IGN" (or something like that)which I thought would be on board video instead of my video card .  So now I can't see screen and I get one long beep and 2 shorts.  How can I switch back to automatic when I can't see screen?  All worked fine on my other bootup partitions as far as seeing screen till I changed "automatic" setting.
    Thanks
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Also I naturally plugged the video cable into onboard video after swiitching from automatic  but same beeps occured and no screen
    Just thought....if I pull out video card will I then be able to see on board video to change back to automatic?
    Reset cmos?  I hope not but that's not so bad....I'll wait for help
    And if I have to reset cmos, I haven't yet found where the jumpers are located.  I think i know where they are now
    I bet if I take the pci video card out and plug video cable into on board connector it will set me see to change back to automatic...but i'll wait for an answer as the PC is kind of hard to get to.

  • Text Doubled Up

    Hi all,
    I have a MBP SR...I just noticed the drop shadow on all text, in all apps, including the finder looks messed up. It is like I am seeing a double of all text or a ghost reflection, only slightly faded and like an up shadow visible above the text...Any help?
    I am running all current and have had no other video probs...It is really weird...

    My mistake – The view you showed is actually the Import window, which does not have adjustable side panels like all the other modules.
    The type of problem you were seeing is usually related to a graphics driver issue, or a hardware problem. But putting your system into 'Sleep' mode for an extended period of time with applications like Lightroom open can cause this to happen as well. I always suggest shutting down all applications and your OS and depowering your system every night. It's takes a little longer in the morning to boot up, but then your memory resources are cleared and freed up and your applications open in a "clean" state. At the very least you should perform a full shutdown every Friday, or whenever you will be away from the system for an extended period of time.
    I'm a Windows user, but now that all Mac systems use Intel processors there are very few differences hardware wise.
