Video project saved to MPEG 4 has very bad quality

I need instruction for saving in MPEG 4 because when I saved the project in MPEG 4 the quality is terrible what am i doing wrong? - I saved the same project in QuickTime and quality looked very good.

I was just able to produce a good quality video, but when I made a small change and used the same settings, it turned out very bad. I have been messing with the settings but I cannot re-produce the same quality video I just created.
The settings I did were H.264 MOV:
Frame Rate - Current fps
Key Frames - Every 24 with Frame Reordering checked
Compressor - Quality at Best with Encoding as Best (Multi-pass)
Data Rate - Automatic.
I do not have a preview anymore. I did when it produced the good quality version, but now I do not get a preview. I used these EXACT settings and it produced great quality, but I simply cut out the last 1 second of the video and it produces crappy quality again. I even restarted FCE, used the same source (the MOV), made NO changes, and used these settings again but the quality is worse now.

this is urgent!!!
is there a way of importing video sequences saved as mpeg-2 files? i don't have the dv tapes nor the videocam right now but need to edit the files pronto.
i can do this on a windows xp computer with pinnacle studio 9 except that someone else is using the computer also to meet an urgent deadline.

FCE does not support that type of file. It is DV only editing program.
Depending on exactly what you have (do you have the orginal DVDs or VOB files) you could use something like DVxDVD to rip the files. MPEG Streamclip does this for free but you need the Apple MPEG2 compenent to work it. FFMEG is a shareware program ... it may be able to do this, but I'm not sure

I have an issu, every image i bring or change trough Photoshop CS6 and transfer to Indesign CS6 or Illustrator CS6 comes out in very bad quality and very pixelated whyle printed.
The original image in photoshop is 29x32 cm with 300 ppp.
When i transfer in Indesign, i have to reduce the site via the adjustment button and it comes in terrible quality.
It never happen before, its just recently, and i didn't change my way to save or the properties of my Photoshop, so if someone can help me to resolve this problem, i will be glad.

Before I should save the image as a PSD (without Clipping Mask and dont flatten the image). the print would come out different colours...not the same.
Are you saying the printer can't get a .PSD to output, or a PSD's color is unpredictable? Sounds like your printer can print .PSDs, but you have a color management problem. By different colors do you mean that the printed CMYK color values are different than what was in the placed PSD? If that's the case it may be that the PSD had a profile that conflicted with the InDesign document profile and you are getting unexpected color conversions somewhere in the workflow.

Video resolution with Sony Alpha 7 is very bad

The Videoresolution in PSE 13 Organizer is very bad. Looks like the Videos were made with a cheap mobile-phone.
Video playback works fine with every other Programm on my PC, for example VLC or Media Player, but when i try to view these Videos with PSE 13 they look awful - unsharp and blurry - same in Premiere Elements 13.
Have already tried to install Codec-Pack for Win 7, but no changes.
Maybe PSE uses a wrong codec? If so, how can i change this?
Camera is Sony Alpha 7, OS is Win 7, Graphichs card is CPU-built-in Intel-HD3000(don´t know if this matters?) with newest Drivers.
File extension is .mts, format is AVCHD (1920*1080) full HD.
*edit: maybe it´s helpful if i mention that CPU load is about 30-40% in PSE 13 compared to ~6% when using VLC or Media Player when playing these videos.
I would be grateful for any suggestions.

It is by design and we have no option to change it.
However, we can use Pan Control to enlarge and move around the screen.
Pan Control: The pan control enables the screen to be enlarged and moved around.
Enable the pan control: Tap the pan icon in the connection bar to display the pan control and zoom the screen.
Use the pan control: Tap and hold the pan control and then drag in the direction you want to move the screen.
Move the pan control: Double tap and hold the pan control to move the control on the screen.
Disable the pan control: Tap the pan icon in the connection bar to return the screen to its original resolution.

MBP Retina FaceTime HD Camera has very poor quality and artifacts.

Hey guys, the camera on my 2012 MBP 15' Retina has ridiculously poor quality. After recieving it I had got major artifacting while using the camera for skype, facetime and Google+. Usually the artifacting would continue (many multi-colored horizontal lines across the screen of the camera) until finally the bars would disappear maybe one or two bars would remain, regardless it was usable. I noticed, however, the quality was attrocious, but I assumed it was just how it was supposed to be (very surprised for a $2300 laptop). Recently my friend purchased the same laptop, after looking at his FaceTime HD camera, I realized mine was simply an attrocious fluke, my camera had ridiculous blurring and grain and awful light sensing. I am still under warranty until November 23rd, 2013. What are your opinions on how to get this resolved?

Hdmi adapter for Ipad has very bad resolution

When i plug in my new Ipad digital-av adapter into my TV or projector the resolution is very bad and not shape.

Some possible sources of the web based image being of "bad resolution" present themselves.
--| Some web based image hosting services provide uploaders that actually downsample an image.
This is to reduce the image file's size and results in destructive remove of pixels. File size is smaller and resoultion can/does take a hit.
--| There may be an issue related to the brower used. You could always install and try out other browsers to check this.
--| You local machine may have a failing graphics card.
There may be other issues. A web search might turn up some leads.
Regardless, neither Acrobat nor Adobe Reader are web browsers and neither are "image viewers" for image file formats such as PNG.

Video import from AE to PP blurry and bad quality video.

Hi all, Im having a weird problem with AE cs6 and Premiere pro cs6. Whenever i import an AE to Premiere Pro, the quality becomes bad and blurry. When the project is rendered from AE to a video project (like QT) the quality is great. The videos I am working with are all HD and all my projects are using the size 720x480, so its not an issue of making the video bigger than what it is and thats the reason why it looks so bad. when i start a new project, i just click ok and go with the standard project settings. All videos that i just directly add into Premiere Pro look fine, only import AE projects look bad. Whats weird is when i double click an AE project i mported to premiere thats in the "project" tab, it opens in the "source" tab which allows you to trim, etc the video before adding it to your project and thats normal, anyways when it is in the "source" tab it is in its normal good quality but when i drag it to the sequence timeline in my project, thats when the quality goes down. So, what am i missing here? why would it be ok in the "source" tab but once added to the sequence it goes bad?

If this were my project I would create a different comp for each name by simply duplicating the comps in the Project Panel then changing the name. I would remove the background video, duplicate the comps, change the names, then render each title using the Render Cue or AME using the Lossless With Alpha preset. The rendered titles would be brought into PPro and added above appropriate shot in the sequence.
If you have CC 2014 I would work differently. I would create a Text Template in AE for Premiere Pro. This is a much more efficient workflow. Here's how: How to create text templates in After Effects for Premiere Pro | Adobe After Effects CC tutorials

Video demonstration shows OK by itself but very badly when inserted into the project

I have a problem with video demonstrations/simulations. When I record them, and convert into mp4 format they look great, but when I insert it into my Captivate Project the quality is too poor. One cannot even read the text Captions properly. I have tried to resize the video window, to load the flv file.. But useless. Can someone give me a hint about what might be wrong???

Hello there,
If I am right, you are inserting the published output (in .mp4) of Video demo into another Captivate project.
What output are you publishing from another project?
and is it a multi slide synchronized video or event video in the new project?
you can also check the quality of every slide under slide properties and increase that to 24 bit to improve the quality.
If you are publishing .swf, you can also go to edit >preferences>SWF size and quality>make that to custom and uncheck Advanced Project compression and compress SWF file.
Please check whether that helps.

How can I export a video so that the exported version has the same quality it did in Final Cut Express?

Go to File->Export->QuickTime Movie (do NOT use QuickTime Conversion). Click the Self-Contained box. The resulting file will be a duplicated of your Sequence in FCE.

As David says really. In low light youre obviously going to start using high iso with inherent noise, especially chroma noise, Ive had good results with magic bullet denoiser when used sparingly. What you will not find is some sort of plugin that will make your footage look crystal clear and perfectly exposed.
you can take the view that the noise (grain) can be used in an artistic way, as can the use of Black and white. It obviously helps if you plan the shoot with this in mind, but have a look around at some Black & white photographers (Don McCullen or Robert Capa for example) and see what they have done with grainy B&W film stocks and low light.

TS3623 When I play movies from Netflix via AppleTV, the picture is very bad quality (looks like the first color movies from 1960).

When I play movies from Netflix via Apple TV, the picture quality is like a color movie from 1960. When I play Netflix on the computer or Iphone, I have no quality problem. Also, the movie plays for 4 minutes, then freezes and download for another 5 minutes before continuing. The signal strenght on Apple TV show 3 boxes out of five. I have the Apple TV set up about 30 feet from my Airport, separated with drywall walls and on hardwood floor. I tried to find the answer of my problem on the Apple troubleshooting site without success. Finally, I am trying to download an updated software for my Apple TV and Apple TV tells me there 4 hours left to the download; is that normal?

I did the SPEEDTEST, and my download is 25Mbs. My connection should not be the problem. I use Shaw cable with HIGH SPEED INTERNET. If I watch it on my computer or Iphone, the picture quality is excellent. The problem is the communication between my Airport and my Apple TV. At the store, the guaranteed me there would be no problem anywhere in the house. As I mentionned earlier, the signal has to travel between walls and floor. I get only 3 boxes out of five for signal strenght. I moved my AppleTV 3 feet from my Airport and I donèt have anymore problems; image quality or download speed. But of course, I do not want my AppleTV beside my computer. The reason I bought it is to be able to watch Netflix and my computer content on my TV in the family room. That was the whole purpose, but the AppleTV does not work well at that distance. I may as well bring it back to the store and continue to rent BD dvds.

Hey Baz,
You should draw, for example, a square using the 'Rectangle Frame Tool'. In that sqaure use no stroke and no fill- essentially it will be invisible on your layout.
(It doesn't have to be a square but you should cover the overall shape of the object that you wanted to be a button)
Now convert your invisible square into a button linking it to where you wanted your button to link to. Lastly, move the invisible square on top of your object.
What you've essentially done is you've created an invisible button but it sits on top of your original button (if that makes sense). That way, the original artwork you created for your button will stay crisp.
